Sleep Spaces
In the night there are of course the seven wonders
of the world and the greatness tragedy and enchantment.
Forests collide with legendary creatures hiding in thickets.
There is you.
In the night there are the walker's footsteps the murderer's
the town policeman's light from the street lamp and the ragman's lantern
There is you.
In the night trains go past and boats
and the fantasy of countries where it's daytime. The last breaths
of twilight and the first shivers of dawn.
There is you.
A piano tune, a shout.
A door slams. A clock.
And not only beings and things and physical sounds.
But also me chasing myself or endlessly going beyond me.
There is you the sacrifice, you that I'm waiting for.
Sometimes at the moment of sleep strange figures are born and disappear.
When I shut my eyes phosphorescent blooms appear and fade
and come to life again like fireworks made of flesh.
I pass through strange lands with creatures for company.
No doubt you are there, my beautiful discreet spy.
And the palpable soul of the vast reaches.
And perfumes of the sky and the stars the song of a rooster
from 2000 years ago and piercing screams in a flaming park and kisses.
Sinister handshakes in a sickly light and axles grinding on paralyzing roads.
No doubt there is you who I do not know, who on the contrary I do know.
But who, here in my dreams, demands to be felt without ever appearing.
You who remain out of reach in reality and in dream.
You who belong to me through my will to possess your illusion
but who brings your face near mine only if my eyes are closed in dream as well as
in reality.
You who in spite of an easy rhetoric where the waves die on the beach
where crows fly into ruined factories, where the wood rots
crackling under a lead sun.
You who are at the depths of my dreams stirring up a mind
full of metamorphoses leaving me your glove
when I kiss your hand.
In the night there are stars and the shadowy motion of the sea,
of rivers, forests, towns, grass and the lungs
of millions and millions of beings.
In the night there are the seven wonders of the world.
In the night there are no guardian angels, but there is sleep.
In the night there is you.
In the daylight too.

Dreams...Rivers Of The Night
Dreams are rivers of the night
A place in which the mind shakes free
The conscious bands that hold us tight
And sails us out into mystery
Maiden voyages into seas so deep
Vivid montages of experience strange
Not bound by banks within to keep
Nor limits set within to range
Suspension of reason, dwells in the night
Helplessly carried upon dreams cold river
Exposed to experience, never allowed in daylight
Strange deeds, strange thoughts, make us shiver
If Dreams are rivers of the night
Then what are days, just what might they be?
Which one is false…and which is right?
And in which one would you rather be?
For who can say beyond a doubt
Which is reality and which is not
Is awake really being up and about
Or is dreaming of being awake… our lot

God Is The Light
God is the Light
How great the wonders of the heavens
And the timeless beauty of the night
How great then how great the Creator?
And its stars like priceless jewels
Far beyond the reach of kings
Bow down for the shepherd guiding him home.
But how many eyes are closed
To the wonder of this night?
Like pearls, hidden, deep beneath a dark

Mid-Night Oil
I have burned the mid-night oil
and my brain is weary.
I have burned the mid-night oil
and my eyes are teary.
Things look better in daytime.
The darkness brings on thought.
Problems become magnified
and you feel like you are caught
inside a darkened tunnel,
not able to find your way out.
If it wasn't for approaching daylight
you would live in doubt.

I Go My Way
I go my way night and day.
Sometimes I doubt and want to shout,
Can’t sleep at night and….
Not so sure if I was right.
But I go my way night and day
With the alarms and worries,
With the flurries and hurries,
More often with beautiful sunny days,
Sometimes with colds and rains.
But in the distance I see the dawn,
It illuminates my life and my dreams.
At these moments all worries are gone
And I like to face new life streams.
Now I know that it’s my way,
I will go on it day and night.
If needed then I would fight.
Let my way be not so easy,
But breezy, with lots of fantasy.
In motion I see the sense.
Every day is a new commence.
I wonder what lies ahead
But it’s not just my curiosity.
Every day I will act instead
And my days will be full of Gods charity.
Every day for me is a new chance
To come closer to my dreams.

Night-night moon
Night-night stars
Night-night noisy
trucks and cars.
Night-night sand box
Night-night toys

girls and boys.

Unable To Sleep
didn't sleep well last night
I didn't dream last night
Losing all the battles
Losing all my fight
I didn't sleep well last night
Barely closed my eyes
tossed and turned and paced
until sunrise
I didn't dream last night
Any time I tried
I cried inside
and wanted to run and hide
I didn't sleep well last night
My world seems confused
Like a dead-end in a maze
like an ocean without a sky
All my friends are far away
the hands I hold are imagined
my life in shades of blue and grey
A life derailed and gone astray
