Isolation.

He came by unknown ways, and stood
At evening in the fading wood,
Which when the glowing hills were gone
Would as in a dream murmur on,
As he beside his camp-fire's glare
Sat as if in a vision there,
And felt the silence like a thing
In which his soul was functioning.
He was a poet maybe who
The world's impression dreamy drew
From his own heart in that strange air,
Like one who had been everywhere
And with the stars and fire-lit trees
Did blend a thousand memories,
Making that speck of light his home
Until the dewy dawn should come.
He well had seemed a phantom at
Some mystic work as lone he sat
Within his ring of charméd light,
Who might step out into the night,
And in a mischief-making mood
Perturb the starry solitude
Until his fire burnt out, and then
Might creep back to his camp again,
And wrapped within his blanket be
A thought-deserted entity.

Fire-Time

He walked toward her
a fire-stick in his hand
and spoke softly.
'This is fire
my gift to you.

It is safety from wild animals;
heat for your food;

romance for your life;

Igniter of Passion;
The Secret Furnace
which fuels the Sun;
the Starry Blanket
which covers the night;

the Milky Way which burns
hot-blue.

The Heart's Flame
is Cobalt Fire too.

She touched his fire-stick
and felt the burn.

He grabbed her singed hand
and kissed it

saying:
Fire too
burns
human things;

Passion too
sears souls.

'But how, ' she said,
'shall I know fire which heals
from Stinging Fire which
burns my soul? '

'How can I be sure my fire
is safe fire,

that all my passions
are healing flames
and not destructive ones? '

He, said 'Fire is like touch;
go close enough to feel the warmth
but don't press too much
or the skin recoils.

Fire is like two kissing lips;
go close enough to feel the heat
but pressure too much
you chip the teeth.

Fire is like making love;
it can sweep you away
but be sure Fire's Orbit
brings you back
ensuring sure you don't get too close to the burning Sun.

When young be the bubble-bee sampling nectar,
not the moth obsessed with flames.

Use fires' heat
but regard more its light;

for Fire is both;
heat is good
light is knighted.

Fire correctly lit
is a balm of both
and allows Love and Lovers
to survive.

She's On Fire

Well this is just between us but between us let's get high
In pictures I have seen her and to see her is truly fine
She's on fire
She's on fire

Flowers in her evening set I get the feeling she won't forget
And there's times you'd long to be her but to be her is surely blinding
She's on fire
She's on fire
She's on to me
And I'm over me
She's on fire

And if I could be inside her light
I would steal enough to make my way into the night
And if I could be inside her light I might just find I'd be alright

Well it's not just a daydream if you decide to make it your life
And this is not between us but between us let's keep getting back to where it's from
She's on fire
She's on fire
She's on to me
And I'm over me
She's on fire
She's on to me
And I'm over me
She's over me
And I'm on to her
She's on fire
She's on fire
She's on fire

The Land of Story-Books

At evening when the lamp is lit,
Around the fire my parents sit;
They sit at home and talk and sing,
And do not play at anything.

Now, with my little gun, I crawl
All in the dark along the wall,
And follow round the forest track
Away behind the sofa back.

There, in the night, where none can spy,
All in my hunter's camp I lie,
And play at books that I have read
Till it is time to go to bed.

These are the hills, these are the woods,
These are my starry solitudes;
And there the river by whose brink
The roaring lions come to drink.

I see the others far away
As if in firelit camp they lay,
And I, like to an Indian scout,
Around their party prowled about.

So when my nurse comes in for me,
Home I return across the sea,
And go to bed with backward looks
At my dear land of Story-books.

The Rose and the Cross

Out of the seething cauldron of my woes,
Where sweets and salt and bitterness I flung;
Where charmed music gathered from my tongue,
And where I chained strange archipelagoes
Of fallen stars; where fiery passion flows
A curious bitumen; where among
The glowing medley moved the tune unsung
Of perfect love: thence grew the Mystic Rose.

Its myriad petals of divided light;
Its leaves of the most radiant emerald;
Its heart of fire like rubies. At the sight
I lifted up my heart to God and called:
How shall I pluck this dream of my desire?
And lo! there shaped itself the Cross of Fire!

Catching Fire

Glowing embers, remnants of a world past.
Life is dying, its energy expiring fast.
The last hope for life to survive is fading out and we're stuck drowning in a sea of doubt!
-
Burnt out timber, shadows of what use to be.
Lord God! Start a fire inside me!
So many are burnout, no fire left, to our flaking ashes we cleft.
-
Someone needs to ignite the fire, bring us back to life!
Keep us alive, don't let the darkness suffocate the light:
So many of us, burnt-out, dead, and alone, We need fire in the bones!
-
We're sitting here, waiting for someone to catch fire-dying-
Sitting here warming benches, not even trying.
By our lack of faith, we condemn ourselves to die!
-
Waiting for God to move, but God has already done so.
While we're stalling, he's calling us to go!
But we're waiting for fire, that's already here, but we won't commit because of our fear.
-
Haunted by a fear of the unknown, that we can't survive.
We sit and kill, the very life we're trying to revive.
Waiting for someone else to move, with the blame on our heads, we refuse to push ahead.
-
If you don't move, and he besides you doesn't move,
Who's going to keep the fire, that runs this world, tell me who?
So I'm catching fire, hoping others catch fire with me: catching fire to set men free, are you with me?

Fire Burning

See your face everywhere,
Giving you all my life,
All I own is for you.
Theres a fire, a fire burning in my heart,
Cant deny it, a fire burning in my heart for you.
A fire burning in my heart.
It only goes to show,
The world is full of miracles,
I thought Id never know.
Touch my soul with your light,
Freeing me of all doubt,
Of all fear, here in me.
Theres a fire, a fire burning in my heart,
Cant deny it, a fire burning in my heart for you.
Fire, a fire burning in my heart,
A fire burning in my heart for you.
Theres a fire, a fire burning in my heart.

Fire and Light

Fire and light, fire and light
we were fire and light
before the world began
we shown like stars

now enclosed in flesh
like fireflies in jars
we forget we emit light
and a flame that consumes

Like the earth inside the core
or the lamps inside a room
we are like our Maker
fire and light, fire light,
a love that consumes the cold and night.

Summer Dawn.

Come with thy feet to the water, and bathe
Thy beauty here in the stream that will not pass!
The soft green leaves with their shadows swathe
The either bank, and under the ferns and grass
The dreamy crickets chirp in the dewy dawn,
Now that the light of the stars has grown
Into a thin pale mist in the night unknown;
The small birds twitter, whose senses quite
Have not yet out of their dreams withdrawn —
Here where my heart too waits for the light
Under the cloudy hills that soon will run
With bright feet in the ways of the sun,
As if they were but chained to the air:
Come to me now so fresh and fair —
Now that the reign of Sleep is done —
With twinkling feet in the dewy dawn!
O love, as grass comes to the lawn,
As day comes to the East, come thou —
Come to me now!

Fire fly

Fire fly!
You are my friend and fly!
You are the children's and kid's beloved fly!
You are an insect
You are small in size
You have fire with your body
You make strange noises at night
By the help of your magical fire
You spread light
Your are trying to help people by spreading light
You softens the darkness away by your light
Oh! What a light you got!
Please give me your light
Share the secret of your magic
You are held captive by some naughty children
You are troubled by them
As they torture you
But fire fly! fire fly!
You are my friend...

Fire In Cairo

Slowly fading blue
The eastern hollows catch
The dying sun
Night-time follows
Silence and black
Mirror pool mirrors
The lonely place
Where i meet you
See your head
In the fading light
And through the dark
Your eyes shine bright
And burn
Like fire
Burn like fire in cairo
Burn like fire
Burn like fire in cairo
Shifting crimson veil
Silken hips slide
Under my hand
Swollen lips whisper
My name
And i yearn
You take me in your arms
And start to burn

Evening.

The light is drawn out of the leaves and grass,
And the sweet flowers grow pale in the gray air,
As if their beauty's essence e'en did pass
With the departing light from all things fair,
As the sap in the trees when summer's fled
Draws back to the earth, leaving the leaves dead.
The sky becomes a cloud, the hills a shade,
As the mysterious darkness fills the sphere,
A monstrous elf whose tentacles are laid
In silence upon all things far and near;
Now the bats flit about the mothy damp
In which the spiders weave their airy camp.
I, too, could fill as 'twere a dreamy bed
Under the green leaves in the darkness now,
And watch the evening planet overhead
Like a dewdrop upon the airy bough
Of heaven tremble — till my soul too grew
Like liquid light in water, shining through.
And I can feel that which the dead inherit —
Peace, and the power to forego the pain
That like a vulture on the human spirit
Draws its fine essence from the fading brain,
Till every sense contracts, and the slow breath
Oozes away in the desire of death.
So from me slips the day's disquietude,
And I am made one with the night, as those
Who pass from thought into a faery mood
On Lethe's wharf, whenas old Charon goes
Into the dusk of that eternal eve
Where all must go when the earth-light they leave.

Temper and Fire

Her temper
flares like fire
singeing tulip bulbs;

sudden
frightening,
intense,
and all
consuming.

I embraced
her
and it;

drew it near
and she
felt my arms
around her
containing;

holding;
she beat against
my strength
feeling it
taking the fire itself
quenching
and limp
she lunged
once more
to be reassured
that
she and it
could be contained.

And I wrapped
her
in my arm cocoon
and drew her close

til
I felt her body relax.

No motion now;

still against
the room's landscape.

lover
and lover
embraced.
Fire still
burning
but now a light.

Wildfire

The border of this fire crackled and snapped.
It's undulating movement that moved
All over the earth's body.
It's leaping orange and red intertwined,
This fire in all it's glory made me scream.

It made me heat up, this fire of old and fire of new.
This fire's constant singing made me wonder how it had a voice.
But it did, sometimes lower and sometimes higher, and then
So high.

This fire was nature's mischief maker and he made mischief.
Of all the leaves, branches and trees around him,
And he made mischief on me.

One day I disclosed to all my friends,
This fire was not a true fire.
It didn't burn down anything,
But it so excited me that it did burn my heart.
It excited my whole body and burned through my soul.
This fire just lit up my life.

But this wildfire was no ordinary fire.

This wildfire was my lover.
For this there was no other.
For his mother had named my lover Wildfire.
Watching his antics and speeding around on the playground,
I'll always hold Wildfire tightly in my arms because he's so hot.

On A Night Like This

See the Milky-way, a great bowl of wonder
Filling the sky amidst the crisp magic air
You are in the stars and the stars in you
The camp fire crackles, the breeze is easy

The night is old and sleepy
I watch the heavens in silent wonder
You are my star child, laying in my arms
Comfort me in your serene universe

An owl hoots, the loons are calling
Everything else is in peaceful bliss
I am justified and cleansed
Only God could make a night like this

A shooting star flickers
The lake is like a dream
The fire brings pine tree shadows
The crickets are playing their music

Your face dances with fire light
Time is a drama from the heavens
The north star is bright tonight
There's nothing I miss on a night like this

Fire in your eye,
Fire in your spirit,
Fire that won’t die.

Fire in the bare bones of being,
Fire to uphold what’s right,
Fire in the heart of darkness,
Fire to fuel Love’s light.

Fire to burn but not consume,

Heaven With Us

It's like the realm of solitude
with silence of the night
is to captivate us

In silhouette is the mood of sleep
into enthralling dreams

Plus within the fresh air and cold
and the night so bold
such a night to slumber

We put it aside and we want to
escape from the realm of solitude

The thousand fireflies leaped across
and ignited our desire with their fire,
with their daring play to our rendezvous

With parallel vibration of love blended
our body, soul and heart into one jubilation

And we see the stars beyond the clouds
a priceless treasure of heaven
