The risky job

Barley sown,
Barley is harvested.
Poppy sown,
Poppy is harvested.
A child sown,
Harvest is unpredictable,
The most risky job.

On The First Of Seven's Night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

for the world, ag'n christmas sight
on the first of seven's night
when the light of heaven is light
it's the world of two thousand seven bright

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

see, she is smiling in alone
ah! in love she is gone
'n' now she has got the tone
to say! to wish a new morn..ing

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

oh! it's the hit of 12'o clock
but who are they in morning flock
look it's you 'n' that is me
in between it's bond of thee

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

hey! who is playing these notes so cute
it must be octaves from lord krishnas flute
no! on the first of seven with the rythm inherent
a boy to a girl with the happys of heaven

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

and you! what are you doing over here
go to the fields and harvest your share
my blackberrys ripen with the dawn of the sun
hares and birds may already be having there fun

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

sown for you blackberry's delight
on the first of seven's night

Reaper

They say you reap what you sow
I reaped I sown
Call me a failure
Call me a hero
For I am both
Yet not either
I sown hope
I reaped despair
I sown love
I reaped hate
I sown joy
I reaped sorrow
I sown peace
I reaped war
So what do you see
A failure
A hero
When I look at the fractured mirror
I see me the grim reaper

Long Been Lost

If a healing was done...
Wounds would mend.
An aid would not be needed.
And the funding for it would end.

A reaping sown would not be harvested.
The need for it would be useless.
And other industries connected,
Would then have to begin.
And those seasons of creativity,
Have long been lost.

Prosperity

The optimist and pessimist
they are close friends
and did a cultivation.
They sown the paddy
and expected wheat
but found corn.
Then they threw them
to the ground
and it turned to barley.

Abundant Harvest

The following was composed and read at a gathering in the new
Parsonage, Salford, in the fall, 1883.

The farmers are in cheerful mood,
For harvest all it hath been good;
And all the grain was sown this spring
An abundant yield will bring.

And you can scarcely stow away.
The yield of barley, oats and hay ;
Such pasture it is seldom seen,
E'en now it is so fresh and green.

This beauteous color nature decks
While it insures you large milk checques [sic],
And certes you've much cause to praise
For hogs and cattle that you raise.

The End of Harvest

'O Love, who walkest slow among my sheaves,
Smiling at tint and shape, thy smile of peace,
But whispering of the next sweet year's increase,-
O tender Love, thy loving hope but grieves
My heart! I rue my harvest, if it leaves
Thee vainly waiting after harvests cease,
Like one who has been mocked by title lease
To barren fields.

Dear one, my word deceives
Thee never. Hearts one summer have. Their grain
'Is sown not that which shall be!'

Can new pain
Teach me of pain? Or any ecstasy
Be new, that I should speak its name again?
My darling, all there was or is of me
Is harvested for thine Eternity!

John Barley-Corn, My Foe

John Barley-corn, my foe, John,
The song I have to sing
Is not in praise of you, John,
E'en though you are a king.
Your subjects they are legion, John,
I find where'er I go:
They wear your yoke upon their necks,
John Barley-Corn, my foe.
John Barley-Corn, my foe, John,
By your despotic sway
The people of our country, John,
Are suffering to-day.
You lay the lash upon their backs;
Yet willingly they go
And pay allegiance at the polls,
John Barley-Corn, my foe.
John Barley-Corn, my foe, John,
You've broken many a heart,
And caused the bitter tear, John,
From many an eye to start,
The widow and the fatherless
From pleasant homes to go,
And lead a life of sin and shame,
John Barley-Corn, my foe.
John Barley-Corn, my foe, John,
May Heaven speed the hour,
When Temperance shall wear the crown
And Rum shall lose its power;
When from the East unto the West
The people all shall know
Their greatest curse has been removed,
John Barley-Corn, my foe!

Our Hearts Are Woven Together

Our hearts are woven together
Not by human strands
But from the mouth of God
Where all plans begin
It is His great pleasure
To bring you two together
With words of love and treasure
Gold strands through needles’ eye so fine
That it cuts through the edge of time
Sown with thread so rare
Love’s true cost sown in without care
Hearts bound for glee and stormy seas
With God’s sail upon our ship
With master Captain at its helm
Will guide us through this earthly realm
At last on distance shores we land
Together we join Him in the Promised Land
To thank Him for a job well done
For our two hearts sown as one

Acres Of Skin

Walk through the ashes of man
Skin like fields on fire
Pain is only a weakness
Death is just an escape

We are connected like tissue
Feed on the shame you've raised
Why continue the harvest?
We are already dead

No one can reap these scars we've sown

There is no morning sun
No falling rain
For acres of skin

Wait! Can you hear the machines?
Gears that cultivate flesh
Why continue the harvest?
We are already dead

No one can reap these scars we've sown

There is no morning sun
No falling rain
For acres of skin

All I want and wish for
Is to end this suffering
All alone and unaware
All primed up for dying

Without face

Jesus, Lord Of Heaven Above

Jesus, Lord of Heaven above,
Earth beneath is all Thy own
In the depths of Heavenly love
Let my human heart be sown.

Let my love that as a grain
None on earth might care to see,
Buried in Thy grave remain,
Be a precious seed to Thee.

Thou wilt raise it, though it die,
Thou wilt see it hidden there —
Thou wilt guard it with Thine eye
From the spirits of the air.

None shall take it thence away;
It is sown for Thy delight:
Thou wilt shine on it by day, —
Thou wilt shield it in the night.

Where the silent waters flow,
It shall multiply its root;
It shall blossom, it shall grow,
It shall bear immortal fruit.

Sown in weakness, raised in power —
Sown in suffering, raised in peace —
It shall brave the blighting hour,
In the year of drought increase.

Never hurt by sun or storm,
Blest its every stage shall be;
Dying in its mortal form —
Living evermore in Thee.

The Rigs o' Barley

It was upon a Lammas night,
When corn rigs are bonie,
Beneath the moon's unclouded light,
I held awa to Annie;
The time flew by, wi' tentless heed,
Till, 'tween the late and early,
Wi' sma' persuasion she agreed
To see me thro' the barley.

Corn rigs, an' barley rigs,
An' corn rigs are bonie:
I'll ne'er forget that happy night,
Amang the rigs wi' Annie.

The sky was blue, the wind was still,
The moon was shining clearly;
I set her down, wi' right good will,
Amang the rigs o' barley:
I ken't her heart was a' my ain;
I lov'd her most sincerely;

I kiss'd her owre and owre again,
Amang the rigs o' barley.
Corn rigs, an' barley rigs, &c.

I lock'd her in my fond embrace;
Her heart was beating rarely:
My blessings on that happy place,
Amang the rigs o' barley!
But by the moon and stars so bright,
That shone that hour so clearly!
She aye shall bless that happy night
Amang the rigs o' barley.
Corn rigs, an' barley rigs, &c.

I hae been blythe wi' comrades dear;
I hae been merry drinking;
I hae been joyfu' gath'rin gear;
I hae been happy thinking:
But a' the pleasures e'er I saw,
Tho' three times doubl'd fairly,
That happy night was worth them a',
Amang the rigs o' barley.
Corn rigs, an' barley rigs, &c.

Wha, in a brulyie, will

Wha, in his wae days,
Were loyal to Charlie?
Wha but the lads wi' the

May this "dishonor" be?
If I were half so fine myself
I'd notice nobody!

To France

What is the gift we have given thee, Sister?
What is the trust we have laid in thy hand?
Hearts of our bravest, our best, and our dearest,
Blood of our blood we have sown in thy land.

What for all time will the harvest be, Sister?
What will spring up from the seed that is sown?
Freedom and peace and goodwill among Nations,
Love that will bind us with love all our own.

Bright is the path that is opening before us,
Upward and onward it mounts through the night:
Sword shall not sever the bonds that unite us
Leading the world to the fullness of light.

Sorrow hath made thee more beautiful, Sister,
Nobler and purer than ever before;
We who are chastened by sorrow and anguish
Hail thee as sister and queen evermore.
