The pitiable old

Orphans are fed; the handicapped are fed;
The destitute are fed but not are the old,
Because the old will soon die and won’t be there
To remember the act of the donor.

~ LET O YOU NOT ~ [Christmas submission by ~ wee niv]

~ LET O YOU NOT ~
Ms. Nivedita
UK
24 December,2009.

Orphans, distressed
Heard Thine name
Return with
Have nothing
Let O You not.
.
In despair
Weep those
Wipe eyes
Let O You.

Whose bosom is
In trepidation
Assure them let
O You.

Needy, fortuneless
Destitute in hundreds
There are,
Bosoms worn out
By woes
Weeping ceaselessly
Doomed by sins
Alas
Go to whom
Where the path is?
Appear before
Their vision
O You.

Defect is a blessing

One son, handicapped,
Got a post, on quota.
The other, a wholesome,
Reeled through out.
I wish I had both as handicapped.

Destitute & Loosin

Im destitute and loosin, all that I got.
I got too much booze in me, oh, and Ive been smokin a lot.
Sometimes I wish my memory, didnt serve me so good.
Maybe then I wouldnt think of the world, but you know that I would.
cause Im ...
Destitute and loosin, all of my mind.
But I know I got to meet my maker children, at the end of the line.
Nothing good lasts forever, not on this earth.
Im a victim of circumstance, my mistake was my birth.
cause Im ...
Chorus
Destitute and loosin, sure cant be choosin.
Destitute and loosin, sure cant be choosin.
Im destitute and loosin, Im loosin my way.
There will be no more choosin, come the judgment day.
Theres no place for me to go, but, I know darn well.
When it comes time for me to leave here, Im going straight, straight down to hell
cause Im ...
Im destitute and loosin, Im losin my mind.
Said, Im destitute and loosin, children, loosin all the time.
Ive never been a winner, at nothing Ive done.
I know that Im a sinner, and you know my time is come.
cause Im ...
Chorus
Chorus
Ive been soooo ... low children, I just dont know which way to go.
Lord, you know I just dont give a fuu ...

A Dying Brain

Do you recall how I was once your fire –?
And we, a regal cloud of unity
Meandering through the closing blues of night,
Commanding stars to glitter;
Dawn to blush?

Your answer comes in ever-blanking stares:
A wall that blocks the know,
Damping down the glow that used to emanate
From clear and lucid eyes.
They've lost the will to recognise.

But hear! We are fifty years together –
And once we writhed in pleasure –
Drowning in emotion,
That which was our prime.

You don't recall.
You only lie as vegetation
Scattered on the ground:
A living mound of flesh,
Devoid of any neural mesh
To let you say 'I'm sound.'

Don't worry Dear,
For I'm aware with memory!
I'll tell you how we were.
We have our right of history!

If you could just concur.

The cheapest is advice

Donor is happier than the receiver;
Cheaper than water anywhere
Is advice, free of cost, unasked.
In its balance sheet, there is no loss.
Always is gain, the ego of donor.

The rich are handicapped

I depend on my maid for household works
And to that extent I am handicapped.
With limbs weak, I need car to move about.
To that extent I’ve grown handicapped.
With amenities, my inability grows.
Am I fortunate with all my fortunes?

Do We Remember Them?

We remember our fathers
They remember their sons
Who fought long battles
And paid with their lives

We remember the glories
We have forgotten the pain, ,
of the widows and orphans,
of those who will never return again.

We remember the machinery
With which battles were fought
But the names of the fallen
Are all but forgot.

We remember, we say
With the crimson petalled poppy
And silence at eleven
On Remembrance Day

But of all the boys and men
Who fought wars large and small
Paying dearly with their lives
Do we really remember them, at all?

Talisman

The studs worn by her are more fortunate
Than their donor, with their sanctity
To touch her. What sensation can they feel?
The donor can feel but is barred to touch.

No matter.
It is a talisman,
for her he has given.

I remember...(How could I forget?)

I remember your skin, 'cause it's perfect when we meet,
I remember your voice, 'cause without it I can't speak,
I remember your noise, as I'm taking you out of your mind
I remember your pressure, as it made me melt into the sublime.

But mostly, I remember you crying and asking me how someone could love a monster,
I remember you threading your hands through my hair pulling my face to you so you could see the fear written,
I remember you telling me that you'd understand if I left.

I remember comforting you as person A, B and C walked away,
I remember calling you, already knowing what you needed to say,
I remember you calling me angel, so where did that go?
I remember everything, even if it wasn't real, so tell me, is that so?

I remember you giving me everything
I remember giving you my all
I remember watching you put me on a pedestal,
I remember watching myself fall.

Giving is pleasure.

The donor is happier than the recipient
As his hands place above the recipient’s..
Donor’s ego and recipient’s hands are full.
The giver remembers longer though.

If You Ever Remember

If you ever remember
That I was the first
To love you with great passion...

If you ever remember
That I cried so many times
Whenever I saw you going away...

If you ever remember
That I only offered you
Just possible things...

If you ever remember
Not what I had, but
What I was and still am...

If ever remember
That in life's pathway
I have placed my hope only on you...

If you ever remember
The many times I explored
Your softened body with my hands...

Then...
You shall know that
Nobody has taken your place
Within my now tormented heart...

Sonnet: Do the Right Things

Are you comfortable in your coat/suit?
Does your neck turn freely while wearing your tie?
Do you evince joy, eating others’ fruit?
Better be pauper than rich man and die!

The things we do must suit the occasion;
We must do those things that suit too, the clime;
What is the use of living in mansion?
You should be content earning just a dime!

Copy not others nor ape someone else;
Do things your brain tells rightly nev’rtheless;
Nothing that’s earthly all the time sells;
Think of the orphans, handicapped, homeless!

You love your brethren and love God through them,
Man’s soul is priceless: costliest the gem!

I Remember You

I remember you
I remember me
I remember
I remember how things used to be
I remember every word that you said
I remember, how could I forget
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember you
I remember your old address
And I remember
How could I forget
I remember thinking how my luck changed
I remember being so amazed
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember you
I remember me
I remember
The way things used to be
I remember how it was that we met
I remember, I will never forget
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you
(I remember, I remember)
I remember, I remember you

I remember our days

I remember our days on the haybails
singing to the tunes on the ipod
I remember the parties we went to
we could drink until we dropped
I remember us going through school
lazing about knowing our exams would flop
I remember the summer of 2009
we laughed and smile so much we thought we'd never stop
I remember leaving it all behind
and onto the next train in life we hopped
I remember saying we'll stay friends
and look where we are, that never stopped
I remember falling out during the winter of 09
it was all my fault and i felt like a stupid sop
I remember us all falling in love with someone we'd met
having found someone that made us feel ontop
I remember us all losing that special someone
feeling low, needing to drink and never stop
I remember the days we'd go without speaking
feeling awkward and put on the spot
I remember all the times we'd said we'd stick it through
Cause thats what we're here for, me and you
So lets dry our tears and get it together
cause tonight we party, as if it were forever

“Remember”

Remember where you came from.
Remember where you have been.
Remember whom you have encountered.
Remember whom you have known,
Remember joyous moments.
Remember sorrow too.
Remember all the lessons.
Remember the lessons you forgot.
Remember your Father.
Remember your Mentor.
Remember Mother Earth.
Remember the universe.
Remember to remember.
Remember gratitude.
Remember to be humble.
Remember your heart.
Remember always to love.

Song: The Cries of Today’s Children

I hear the cries of children,
Of children of the world; I Singer
The unwanted and unlucky,
The orphans and of streets!

I hear the cries of children,
Of children who want love;
The illiterate, sick, handicapped; II Singer
Poor, without any sheets!

I hear the cries of children,
Of children that must work; I Singer
To earn while young for family,
Have no place, time to play!

I hear the cries of children,
Of children war-ravaged;
Who know not what is joy in life, II Singer
Living in squalor, strife!

Let’s make this world for children,
A better place to live; I&II Singers together
With encouragement, dignity, * 2 times
And all love, we can give.

Discovery Day

I remember then with the same power
Feeling out of breath just like now
Heart beating like I just ran a mile
Feeling like the luckiest girl alive

I remember not knowing whether to laugh or cry
And not really understanding why
I remember feeling it must be a dream
Everything just too beautiful to be real

I remember my head reeling, ears ringing
Heart heaving, stomach turning
I remember thinking this can't go on
Or my heart would burst like the sun

I remember then like it was now
I remember then to the very hour
And yes it hasn't lost its power
The day I was touched
And burned
The day when
Happiness returned

That strange day
I fell in love

A Walk Down My Memory Lane

Remember...
The day we wed.
Remember...
How we snuggled in bed.
Remember...
Walking in the oceans' sand,
Remember...
I'm in a hostile land.
Remember...
The ring, you're first surprise.
Remember...
My happy, green eyes.
Remember...
How I used to smile.
Remember...
Its been a long trial.
Remember...
My devotion.
Remember...
All my emotion.
Remember...
Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Remember...
To be open and giving.
Remember...
Our old birch tree.
Remember...
Remember me!
Remember...
The hot tub bath.
Remember...
Walking on the forest path..
Remember...
Your wedding gown.
Remember...
The love we found.
Remember...
When the war has passed.
Remember...
Our love will forever last.
