The necessary evil

To have a wife, good to look at,
And bad to live with is a curse.
You have to keep her at any cost
To ward off men tempest.

Writers Are Ill Valued

When you buy a book
You pay for its making cost.
The real cost is much more.
Brain behind it is ill-valued.
Yet, who spend on books?

Sonnet: A Village-life is Better

A city-life has gone to dogs these days,
With problems of water, shelter and food;
The cost of living has gone up always;
The ‘luxury’ cannot keep one’s health good!

A village-life is far better to all;
Tho’ time ticks slowly, health is at its peak;
Yet, love and courtesy is maintained tall;
A simple livelihood, most farmers eke.

But still, men throng the cities all the time,
To live a discontented, worthless life?
And neither are the mind and soul sublime;
Man struggles much to combat daily strife.

So, why can’t men be level-headed then,
And live ’midst Nature’s plants, beasts, birds like wren?

Mrs. Ward

On friday afternoon at three o'clock
A passing lady looked into a shop
Her eyes lit up as this the sign she read
Recruiting office, that is what it said
Exacitedly she stepped inside to see
How her sons would fair if they were militry
The man in charge to her was very sweet
And said, "please sign here on this little sheet"
But when she got home her mind grew many fears
The message from the soldiers in the war rang in her ears
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh
At six o'clock the lads came home from work
She told them what she'd done, they went beserk
We'll have to go to war and fight and die
And mrs. ward she wiped a tear from her eye
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh
Don't put your boys in the army mrs. ward
You know they'll only waste away, oh oh

God's Uplifted Hand

For most of Her history, by many nations Israel has truly been hated,
Sure it looks bleak, but the will of The Lord will not be frustrated.

For this little tiny nation in the Middle East is not just any land,
This is the very land promised by God to the descendants of Abraham.

And God promised to bless and or curse those that bless or curse you,
This is something that God has always done and will continue to do.

Israel is so special to God that in the Bible God calls Her His Wife,
This special endearment through the years has caused Her much strife.

But after being delivered from Egypt, their faith gave way to fears,
This is the reason that they wandered in the desert for forty years.

After all the faithless died in the desert, The Lord again drew near,
And after The Lord defeated two kings, the nations shook with fear.

After Moses had died the leadership was passed to Joshua with Caleb,
For these are the two men who did not cower and were allowed to live.

Now Joshua was used in a mighty way, following God's Uplifted Hand,
And three days later Joshua began the capture of God's Promised Land.

In five years Joshua captured much of the land through God's means,
Later some of the land still to be taken was that of the Philistines.

Now three thousand years later the Philistines are back in the land,
However God will redeem all of Israel with His own Uplifted Hand.

One with Darkness

When ever I go out I go out fighting
Screaming for chance to finally end up dying
I have to murder to fulfill my end of this deal
Death is imminent, but something that I’ll never feel.

This is my curse, this is my curse
Sign upon the bloody line I should’ve thought of first
This is my curse, this is my curse
This is my curse, this is my curse
Killing for a living this can’t get any worse
This is my curse, this is my curse

How can I ever love someone else
When murder is my life, and I can’t even love myself
Every night I wake up next to another dead whore
Someone please stop me I don’t want to murder anymore

Committed to love

I must grow committed to my parents.
Yes, I want shelter;
I must grow committed to my siblings.
Yes, I need some support.
The same way to wife for a rest and
As regards kids for love.
Why must I, the old, live committed to grandkids?
I shall be gone before they grew up.
Is it for my progeny?

Are You a Good Husband?

All married men want to be called a good husband
A good husband is a decent husband
Mr. Husband what you done to deserve this decency?
Has your wife ever referred to you as her good husband?
It is known that the eyes cannot see itself
Unless by reflection. Have you ever asked
Your wife for a performance appraisal
Honey, how did I perform last year?
On a scale of one to ten, one for very poor
Ten for excellent, how did I perform?
Your wife may think you are now on new drugs
If you receive less than six, you need to
Start fence mending before it is too late
A good husband sees his wife as his friend
A nice husband treats his wife as his lover
A decent husband regards his wife as a soul-mate
You should anticipate what your wife
Will need before she makes any request
By the way, have you ever bought a gift
For your wife without an occasion?
Do you have to wait for her birthday?
To inform her that she is very special to you?
Do you have to wait for your wedding anniversary?
To tell her that she is the best thing in your life
When last did you talk to your wife in-laws?
When last did you visit your wife in-laws?
What have you done to be called a good husband?
Ask for performance appraisal on a regular basis
Remember, if you make your wife happy
You will get happiness in return

Essence of Azhaki (a tamil movie)

Thangamony and Shanmughom,
A loving pair diverged to suffer.
He had fortune and she, misfortune.
He had lovely spouse and she, a drunkard.
He met her, felt her and wept for her.
From the bed of rose, he thought of
thorn.

She ekes out; He weeps out.
She is coolly; He is gloomy
As a maid, she is hit, he doubly.
As her son is denied food,
He resolves to forgo his food.
She is more than his wife.
Her son is more than his.
Her humiliation is his humiliation.

As a widow, she is undisturbed
As a lover, he is perturbed.
He is not an ex-lover to her
But she is so, to him.
Her identity unfolds.
As his wife sulks
She flees their home.
He is upset.
Doubts are cleared.
His wife is reconciled.

He finds her son back
The son is backing home.
He is his foster father.
He cannot be the foster husband.
Her son and his daughter
Grow together
He could not live for her.
He wanted to live for her son.

His love for her
Is subtly sublimated on her son.
He does it with the hope
That she will return once
And see his gratitude.
If I were in his shoes
I would give her son my girl.
The love of
Thangamony and Shanmughom
Is the perfect example
For every ex-love pair.

HARD ASS........by Talile Ali

don't like this feeling
it's tearing me apart
i was such a hard ass
and i broke your heart

the fact that i did love you
makes it all a crime
being such a hard ass
has lost me you for all time
being such a hard ass has cost me such a wife
a treasure because she loved me
could talk about everything so nice

you were no house keeper
but you were a star
a brilliance shining so brightly
out did the brightest star

the universe is something
for a brilliant mind
thats how much i love you
you really were one of a kind

the fact that i did love you
makes it al a crime
being such a hard ass
has lost me you for all time
being such a hard asshas cost me such a wife
a treasure because she loved me
talked about and give good advice

Sonnet: Wherefrom Life’s Evils Come

Man, take away the women off your life!
Half your problems vanish into thin air;
And live a life centered around your wife;
Just do the things aright that you can bear.

Woman, forget the men who surround you!
How of your problems arise from near here;
Just love your husband wholeheartedly too,
Forgiving if he should any time err.

O human beings, money is evil;
You can’t be slave to money, yet serve God;
Wealth can’t solve all problems nor the devil;
Wealth can’t spare you from the Almighty’s rod.

So, live your earthly life with wisdom, man;
And live your life true to just one woman.

Sonnet: Live Usefully

Oh, how they sprout fast, flourish- trees in wild!
To generate tons of fruits, flow’rs and seeds;
And how their leaves and twigs fail to get piled!
Who knows what fauna uses them as feeds?

But ’tis not so with trees useful to men;
They grow less easily and by men’s sweats;
A lot gets wasted despite any fen;
The weary farmers live al life in debts.

Such is the case with bad and good men too;
The bad outnumber good ones manifold;
Yet, that’s the way the world goes, what to do?
But all must pass away, both young and old.

How usefully we live is what matters!
Sin should not turn soul’s fabric to tatters.

After Death

THE FOUR boards of the coffin lid
Heard all the dead man did.

The first curse was in his mouth,
Made of grave’s mould and deadly drouth.

The next curse was in his head,
Made of God’s work discomfited.

The next curse was in his hands,
Made out of two grave-bands.

The next curse was in his feet,
Made out of a grave-sheet.

“I had fair coins red and white,
And my name was as great light;

I had fair clothes green and red,
And strong gold bound round my head.

But no meat comes in my mouth,
Now I fare as the worm doth;

And no gold binds in my hair,
Now I fare as the blind fare.

My live thews were of great strength,
Now am I waxen a span’s length;

My live sides were full of lust,
Now are they dried with dust.”

The first board spake and said:
“Is it best eating flesh or bread?”

The second answered it:
“Is wine or honey the more sweet?”

The third board spake and said:
“Is red gold worth a girl’s gold head?”

The fourth made answer thus:
“All these things are as one with us.”

The dead man asked of them:
“Is the green land stained brown with flame?

Have they hewn my son for beasts to eat,
And my wife’s body for beasts’ meat?

Have they boiled my maid in a brass pan,
And built a gallows to hang my man?”

The boards said to him:
“This is a lewd thing that ye deem.

Your wife has gotten a golden bed,
All the sheets are sewn with red.

Your son has gotten a coat of silk,
The sleeves are soft as curded milk.

Your maid has gotten a kirtle new,
All the skirt has braids of blue.

Your man has gotten both ring and glove,
Wrought well for eyes to love.”

The dead man answered thus:
“What good gift shall God give us?”

The boards answered him anon:
“Flesh to feed hell’s worm upon.”

Why the married life?

Men are beasts for whom the society
has been woven.
Women are kept in watch and ward by
men against men.
Men have a capacity for morality.
That keeps up the survival of married
life.
Men have an inclination for adultery.
That makes necessary the married life.

Lost Highway

Im a rollin stone all alone and lost
For a life of sin I have paid the cost
When I pass by all the people say
Just another guy on the lost highway
Just a deck of cards and a jug of wine
And a womans lies makes a life like mine
O the day we met, I went astray
I started rolling down that lost highway
I was just a lad, nearly 22
Neither good nor bad, just a kid like you
And now Im lost, too late to pray
Lord I take a cost, o the lost highway
Now boys dont start to ramblin round
On this road of sin are you sorrow bound
Take my advice or youll curse the day
You started rollin down that lost highway
