The bilateral pull

My dear!
I am all mad to hold you near.
I am sad to lose you ever.
Now and then I pay you my care.
To return it bare, you didn’t brave.

My beloved!
No day passed that I have not loved.
No week passed that I have not versed.
No month is gone, I have not emoted.
You never requited, simply stored.

My darling!
You are all the time in my noting.
No one blooms as you did, in my writing.
No one moved you as I did, in wooing.
I am doting, seemingly in vain.

My sweet!
You know, a moth in life never sulks
That the Tulip by no time beckoned
And that it never had a suck or hug.
Yet the moth is on move to gladden.

You, a fixed Sun,
I, a revolving Earth,
there is a pull between us,
the pull being not unilateral.

Marriage is to bind.

A moth has no desire for the flower he had visited.
A man has less desire for the woman he had tasted.

That is why he is tied to her by marriage.

The moth hound

Of a coon hound
you have heard
there's plenty around

i have found
a very strange dog
who's nothing, but a moth hound

when ever, you see
he sees a moth near by
the moth trys to flee,

it isn't no match
as my dog goes after the moth,
and makes a wonderful catch

he eats it all the way
and chews and swallows
he looks at me, now he wants to play

Fascination Street

Oh it's opening time
Down on fascination street
So let's cut the conversation
And get out for a bit
Because i feel it all fading and paling
And i'm begging to drag you down with me
To kick the last nail in
Yeah i like you in that like i like you to scream
But if you open your mouth then i cant be responsible for
Quite what goes in or to care what comes out
So just pull on your hair
Just pull on your pout
And let's move to the beat
Like we know that it's over
If you slip going under
Slip over my shoulder
So just pull on your face
Just pull on your feet
And let's hit opening time
Down on fascination street
So pull on your hair
Pull on your pout
Cut the conversation just open your mouth
Pull on your face pull on your feet
And let's hit opening time
Down on fascination street

Japan

Today I pass the time reading
a favorite haiku,
saying the few words over and over.

It feels like eating
the same small, perfect grape
again and again.

I walk through the house reciting it
and leave its letters falling
through the air of every room.

I stand by the big silence of the piano and say it.
I say it in front of a painting of the sea.
I tap out its rhythm on an empty shelf.

I listen to myself saying it,
then I say it without listening,
then I hear it without saying it.

And when the dog looks up at me,
I kneel down on the floor
and whisper it into each of his long white ears.

It's the one about the one-ton temple bell
with the moth sleeping on its surface,

and every time I say it, I feel the excruciating
pressure of the moth
on the surface of the iron bell.

When I say it at the window,
the bell is the world
and I am the moth resting there.

When I say it at the mirror,
I am the heavy bell
and the moth is life with its papery wings.

And later, when I say it to you in the dark,
you are the bell,
and I am the tongue of the bell, ringing you,

and the moth has flown
from its line
and moves like a hinge in the air above our bed.

Curtain call

In the life-drama, the playwright my beloved wife grumbles;
' I do not know why you cannot stay in a one place a long time
And you talk about rights and fires from time to time darling? '
'I agree with you honey, The Gypsy blood runs in my veins and I am a Gypsy moth,
I was born under a wandering star, Really I am sorry but I never betray you! '
Then the music goes on, Oh! that's her hidden cry.

Transformation

To my noble parents sterling,
, I was their Daughter darling;
;
To my affable siblings, three,
I was their elder Sister, in glee.
To my beloved husband, in life,
I'm his devoted, fond Wife.
To my endearing children, four,
I'm their doting Mother spore;
To my nephews and nieces, reasoning,
I'm their dear Auntie, loving.

Alas! The label of daughter, nice,
Vanished with my parents' demise! .

My children, one by one, in course of time,
Were married, in their youth prime.
I begot sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law,
And am their affectionate Mother-in-law.

Ah! My siblings three, passed away—
The call of Sister, with them went away!

Now, when my sweet grand-children seven,
With love and care, me, they smother,
Calling me ‘Paatti'(Granny) 'Paatti'(Granny)
,
I the proud Grandmother
Am in rapture, transported to Heaven.!

To Have And Not To Hold

To have and not to hold
So hot yet so cold
My heart is in your hand
And yet you never stand
Close enough for me
to have my way
To love but not to keep
To laugh not to weep
Your eyes they go right through
And yet you never do
Anything to make me want to stay
Like a moth to a flame
Only I am to blame
Ba ba da ba ba ba
What can I do
Ba ba da ba ba ba
I go straight to you
Ba ba da ba ba ba
I've been told
You're to have
Not to hold
To look but not to see
To kiss but never be
The object of your desire
I'm walking on a wire
And there's no one at all
To break my fall
Like a moth to a flame
Only I am to blame
Ba ba da ba ba ba
What can I do
Ba ba da ba ba ba
I go straight to you
Ba ba da ba ba ba
I've been told
You're to have
Not to hold
You're to have not to hold
You're to have not to hold
Like a moth to a flame
Only I am to blame
Ba ba da ba ba ba
What can I do
Ba ba da ba ba ba
I go straight to you

The Moth

The Moth
Goes near it
To seek some light
In its world of darkness
To seek some respite
In its desolate life
To seek some warmth
In its search for love,
Care and belongingness…

The Moth goes near it
Hoping to find
Some acceptance
Some reciprocation
Of its burning desire
For that source of light
But try as he might
He fails, he fails
And he miserably fails…

Every time he goes to it
He comes back
With less of warmth
And a lot less care…
Burns and Scalds
On its bruised body
Because of the Light
That hardly cares
To share its luminance
To shower its radiance
On this hapless victim
Of its crude ignorance…

And yet the Moth
Madly in love
Dedicated to its light
That source of “delight”
Which it hopes
Would be for him
One day –
And pine for him
As he does for her…
He would win over it,
Come what may…
Goes seeking her
Night after night
And every night
He returns back
Burned and scalded
As ever before…

So with all these scalds
And scars of burns
Which he accepts
As the kind
Give-aways
Of his beloved light,
Tired yet devoted
With wings so torn
He can hardly fly…
He still makes
One last attempt
To appease his Beloved -
That luminous light
On one last night.

And he burns and burns
And he so badly burns
His body in ashes…
All over his Beloved’s
Flame of Light.

And in that moment
Of despair and death
Not just the night
Mourns this grave loss
Of love and longing…
The candle-light
Burning bright
For all these nights
Realises the depth
Of the Moth’s
Eternal love for her…
And in a sense of shock
Gives up itself
To the world of
Darkness and Death.

So now the burnt-out,
Withered Wick
Remains the stoic witness
To tell this tragic tale
Of the Moth and the Light
How they met every night
Yet there was no love
Lost nor gained,
Neither realised
Nor reciprocated.
And yet when they couldn’t
Unite in life…
Death found a way out
Heralding their sacred union
In the after-life.
Amen!

Pot And Kettle

Come close to me, dear Annie, while I bind a lover's knot.
A tale of burning love between a kettle and a pot.
The pot was stalwart iron and the kettle trusty tin,
And though their sides were black with smoke they bubbled love within.

Forget that kettle, Jamie, and that pot of boiling broth,
I know a dismal story of a candle and a moth.
For while your pot is boiling and while your kettle sings
My moth makes love to candle flame and burns away his wings.

Your moth, I envy, Annie, that died by candle flame,
But here are two more lovers, unto no damage came.
There was a cuckoo loved a clock and found her always true.
For every hour they told their hearts, 'Ring! ting! Cuckoo! Cuckoo!'

As the pot boiled for the kettle, as the kettle for the pot,
So boils my love within me till my breast is glowing hot.
As the moth died for the candle, so could I die for you.
And my fond heart beats time with yours and cries, 'Cuckoo! Cuckoo!'

Darling

Hey my darling don’t be so sad
It’s not good but it’s not that bad
You’ve lost just one battle
Rest of the war is yet to be fought
You’ve to save the things from being distraught

Oh my angel don’t feel so low
Bring back your smile that shining glow
What is past and that is gone
Those were just bad days, bad phase of your life
Life is calling you forget all those strifes

O my sweetheart please don’t cry
Don’t lose your heart without a try
You’ve few dead dreams
Now put them in to the grave
Stand up with the time and be a little brave

Darling darling! Don’t look at the dust
You have to keep the faith & your trust
Just one wrong move
Now get ready for the right
You’re not alone baby, together we’ll fight

Yes my sweet lady I’m with you
My love kisses you in everything you do
This is the time for new beginning
Just go ahead and fight with no fear & aghast
And I will take care of your broken heart

Time has saved as time has moved
Night has come at last to shine on you
Last night I looked inside the moon
And I knew you were real
So every time I look at you
You know exactly how I feel
Time has saved us time has moved
Night has come at last to shine on you
Take the time to know how you will fill my life
Revolving in my heart
Time has saved us, time has moved us
Night has come at last to shine on you again

Bertolt Brecht

To Those Born After

I

To the cities I came in a time of disorder
That was ruled by hunger.
I sheltered with the people in a time of uproar
And then I joined in their rebellion.
That's how I passed my time that was given to me on this Earth.

I ate my dinners between the battles,
I lay down to sleep among the murderers,
I didn't care for much for love
And for nature's beauties I had little patience.
That's how I passed my time that was given to me on this Earth.

The city streets all led to foul swamps in my time,
My speech betrayed me to the butchers.
I could do only little
But without me those that ruled could not sleep so easily:
That's what I hoped.
That's how I passed my time that was given to me on this Earth.

Our forces were slight and small,
Our goal lay in the far distance
Clearly in our sights,
If for me myself beyond my reaching.
That's how I passed my time that was given to me on this Earth.

II

You who will come to the surface
From the flood that's overwhelmed us and drowned us all
Must think, when you speak of our weakness in times of darkness
That you've not had to face:

Days when we were used to changing countries
More often than shoes,
Through the war of the classes despairing
That there was only injustice and no outrage.

Even so we realised
Hatred of oppression still distorts the features,
Anger at injustice still makes voices raised and ugly.
Oh we, who wished to lay for the foundations for peace and friendliness,
Could never be friendly ourselves.

And in the future when no longer
Do human beings still treat themselves as animals,
Look back on us with indulgence.

Tell them that

Pull my trigger
I am bigger than
Rip them down
Hold them up
Tell them that
Im your gun
Pull my trigger
Im bigger than

Listen he sez were coming out
Infiltration, were numbing your minds
Concentration, weve done time
Rip them down
Hold them up

Expectation

I fear that I have lost you
not from things you say,
just from the things you leave unsaid
on too many a day.
But should I not have known, my love
that things would end like this?
For too many years have passed us by
since that long ago cherished kiss.

The constant living that was separate from me
is the magnet I can't fight.
I can understand that attraction
like the moth that's drawn to the light.
I cannot dowse the light I fear
nor capture the moth I see.
And so the loss is my heartache
that came expectedly.

A soldiers last letter

I left the town
A night in June
Towards a war
That I didn’t knew

You sent me a letter
But when answering your words
We passed a graveyard
Who corrupted my words
I wanted to scream
And run back home

Darling I’m afraid
I’ll be delayed
So I won’t be home
When our baby is born

When writing this letter
I wanted to cry
But I can’t
Because baby
I’m a guy

Men must be strong
So men don’t cry
But baby
I want to kill this guy
Who said such a stupid words
I swear I’ll kill him
And make him eat his words

In this moment
We arrived at the camp
Blood, sweat and tears
Welcomed us back

Darling...
Men twice my size
Were crying for momma
Covered in blood
And still in their pjmas

Darling
I’ve got good news
And bad ones
I won’t be delayed
But I won’t come home
Either
Tomorrow, next week or in years
I fact my dear
I never will.

Don’t spill your tears
You’re so fragile my dear…
Please tell my son
To not play with guns

Move on my dear
But do never forget me
Marry a man
And do never regret it

Darling
They say
That I won’t be okay
But I already knew that
So I guess its okay

The bindings are falling
And blood is crawling
Out of my body
Leaving me spotty
And stained
But I guess, I’ll soon be drained

Darling, these are my last words
Written on a bloody paper
I dedicate these to you

Darling live your life as I tell you to
I’m not bossy
I’m just telling the truth
Darling always remember

Life’s too short to wake up in the morning with regrets
Love the people who treat you right
Forget about the ones who don’t

Believe everything happens for a reason
And if you get a chance. Take it
If it changes your life. Let it
I’m not saying it’ll be easy
Just promising it’ll be worth it

Love like never before
Live like it’s your last day
And dream like it’ll last forever

Take care of those around you
You’ll never know if you’ll see them again

Remember me for who I am
Not for whom I was
Let me live on within you
Take care of those who I let behind
Including you

And with these words
I’ll leave you
Remember I LOVE YOU

My friends are now crying
While I’m slowly dying
I am not lying

I’m closing my eyes
And taking a breath
My last breath

I love you
And never forget it
Believe it
Live it
Breath it
Love it
Smell it
Taste it
Cause its true
I LOVE YOU

Moth To A Flame

(s. kipner/p. bliss)
Here again drawn like a moth to a flame
An invisible force pulling me close to you
I cant break free
Theres some kind of hold over me
Like a magnet, you attract me like steel
Im a kamikaze pilot, its a one-way flight
Getting to you is getting to me
Must be lack of oxygen
Im a do or die fanatic, no rationale
Cause anyone else could tell
You dont stand a snowballs chance in hell
Moth to a flame
A fatal attraction
Im flying too close to the sun
Sooner or later, youre gonna get burned
Moth to a flame
A lethal reaction
Im loving you under the gun
Its just a matter of time before I get
Over my head in your quicksand bed
The more I struggle the more Im sucked in
Here again drawn like a moth to a flame
An invisible force pulling me close to you
Im a kamikaze pilot, its a one-way flight
Getting to you is getting to me
Must be lack of oxygen
Im a do or die fanatic, no rationale
Cause anyone else could tell

Im flying too close to the sun
