Indian gods

Kali solves immediate wants,
Muruga solves long felt wants,
Krishna, the perpetual wants,
And Siva, the eternal wants.
Kali is police more in awe.

Melancholy

My mother the cow who still feeds me now is being tortured
Her son the bull who the fields should plough is being slaughtered
The human child in the womb who is never born for being unwanted
Melancholy in the Age of Kali
Melancholy in the Age of Kali
Kali Kali
My mother, the earth, man treats like dirt, her resources being exhausted
Ant-like astronauts, of the human race, scratch and scar the moon's beautiful face
My brother, the sun, he still shines on
He'll continue to shine for some time to come
Melancholy in the Age of Kali
Melancholy in the Age of Kali
Kali Kali
Lamentation Lamentation Lamentation (repeat)
Heavenly Father still waters the grains
Seems like tears fall as it rains
Little boy blue come blow on your horn
The sheeps in the meadow the cows in the corn
Oh sweet friend of mine from an ancient nursery rhyme
From a distant land once upon a time
Melancholy in the Age of Kali

15 (Vivekananda) Prayers to Goddess Kali

Once Narendra had decided
An ascetic life to lead,
To go ahead in that route,
His Guru’s help he sought

In the meantime, he secured,
A small job that provided
Just enough for the family
To manage their needs daily.

He told his guru one day,
“Oh Guru, why not you pray
To Mother Kali to take pity
And remove my poverty.”

Guru replied, “Oh my son,
True, Kali will surely listen
If you also sincerely pray
On this auspicious day.”

“Since you’ve doubted her,
And also her real power
All these days, you had to suffer,
But she fulfils her devotee’s prayer.”

To the Kali Temple he went,
Late by the same night,
But he forgot about his poverty,
When he stood before the Deity.

He saw her as real one,
Not an ordinary stone,
Ready to give him boon
When he asked for one.

This, he told his Master,
“I saw real Kali Mother,
And before her beauty,
I forgot about my poverty.”

In his life, this incident,
Acted as a turning point,
Bringing a change in him,
On the spiritual platform.

He became an ardent devotee
Of Kali, the presiding Deity,
From that moment onward,
Not turning again backward.

In the cycle of manifestation,
Mother Kali is all in one;
To the virtuous, a kind Mother,
And to the offenders, a terror.

As the Universal Mother
She has all the powers
Of creation, protection,
And also destruction.

As a Universal symbol,
Her manifestation is total.
She’s the Most Merciful,
And also All Powerful.

Innervoice

Fear is talking
In my head consulting
But my innervoice it says
That Im falling, Im falling
Could you be the pillow
That solves this problem
Sometimes I want to
Close my eyes and trust you
But my innervoice it says
That Im falling, Im falling
Could you be the rock
That solves this problem

Sceptism and Religion

The eagle is the chariot of God Vishnu.
The bull is the chariot of God Siva.
The lion is the chariot of Goddess Kali.
The mouse is the chariot of God Ganesh.
The peacock is the chariot of God Karthik.
Hanuman is the god incarnate monkey.
The Hindus revere them in images
And ignore them at ease in their live forms.
Sceptism finds no place in religions.

Degradation of a race

Black hair, black skin, black eyes,
Square face, square teeth, square chin,
Fleshy breasts, fleshy back and fleshy lips
Are features of Dravidian descendents.

Pale hair, pale skin, pale eyes,
Long face, long teeth, long nose,
Thin chest, thin locks and thin lips
Are features of Aryan descendents.

The former is flesh eating, lustful,
Emotion ridden and industrious.
The latter is grass-eating, lust tamed,
Manoeuvring and goal conscious.

Siva, Parvathi, Kali with Asuras
Are portrayed with Dravidian features.
Rama, Krishna, Lakshmi, Sarasvathi
With devas are of Aryan features.

All Itikas, Puranas and Epics depict thus.
They are held as holy scriptures
By both the races alike.

Superman V Supersoul

Rhada come to it
Brother slide through it
Sister rise - dont you care?
Come on taste the mountain air
Innocence comes to chance
The mystery and spirit of romance
Butterflies make you sigh
And kali-yugas miles away
Procession gets in line
With words of wedding day rhyme
Itll make you cry
Kali-yugas miles away
And the young girls eyes are miles away
And the dust still lies miles away
Rhada come to it
Brother slide through it
Sister rise - dont you care?
Come on taste the mountain air
Innocence comes to chance
Mistery, spirit of romance
Itll make you cry
Kali-yugas miles away
And the dust will rise miles away
The young girls sigh miles away
And the dust will rise miles away
Dont let me down
Dont let me down
Blossoms cry to it
Chariots take you there
Climbing through mists like marble white stairs
Milliseconds - take a glance
Catch the mystery dance
Never want to lose this chance
Kali-yugas miles away
And the dust still rise
And the worlds will rise
Superman v supersoul
Always in control

In control

Baba

i've seen them kneel
with baited breath for the ritual
i've watched this experience raise
them to pseudo higher levels
i've watched them leave their families
in pursuit of your nirvana
i've seen them coming to line up
from switzerland to america

how long will this take baba
how long have we been sleeping
do you see me hanging on to
every word you say
how soon will I be holy
how much will this cost guru
how much longer 'til you
completely absolve me

i've seen them give their drugs up
in place of makeshift altars
i've heard them chanting
kali kali frantically
i've heard them rotely repeat your
teachings with elitism
i've seen them boasting robes and
foreign sandalwood beads
i've seen them overlooking god in
their own essence
i've seen their upward glances
in hopes of instant salvation
i've seen their righteousness
mixed without loving compassion
i've watched you smile as
the students bow to kiss your feet

give me strength all knowing one
how long 'til enlightenment
how much longer 'til you
completely absolve me

Me

I would like to start off by saying my name is kali.
I have some anger,
that is no stranger.
It comes out at the worst times,
and sadly i make the crime.
I am far from a saint,
but for you ill paint,
a picture of what i call my life.

I have friends,
some come and go,
others never show.
When it starts to snow,
i just go with the flow.
I stand up for myself,
even if i stand alone,
i know whats right,
without a fright.

I never know when to play nice,
its a chance youll have to take like rolling the dice.
Youll never know when ill start a fuse,
just like a drunk guy drinking booze.
I always tell the truth,
so i must live my youth,
to the fullest of my ability.
I aint that smart,
tall,
nor skinny,
and people may say i am a bad person,
who always seems to worsen.

I may be a fighter,
and deffentaintly not an overnighter,
but with my friends,
ill see no end,
to what i call my life,
because without my wife,
ill put on my shoes,
and go sing the blues.

Nalan 2.10 The Hardship of Separation

Struck on different feeling

With a view to attack,
Raghu, the celestial snake
Surrounded the reddish sun,
That became dark soon.

Like this, Kali planted
In the innocent Nalan’s mind
A different idea, wicked
And the one most crooked.

Thought to cut

Her deplorable condition
Was unbearable to Nalan,
And decided to leave her
In that very dark hour.

But how to cut the sari
Was then his worry.
It was binding them
As one at that time.

Came as sword

Kali knew his thought
And came to the spot
In the shape of a sword
Just to fulfil his need.

Cut! Shocked!

With the sword,
What he found,
He cut her sari
Into two easily.

In that poor condition,
He saw her position,
And thought of her
Dark helpless future.

Mind was churning

Gopis churned the curd
With their two hands,
Which went forward
And backward.

His restless mind
Like this wavered
On the thought,
To leave or not.

Heart pained

Once the Sage Narada
Turned the River Ganga
Into a cold ice block
That stood like a rock.

Like this, Kali hardened,
This time, his soft mind.
Nalan took the decision
To leave her then.

Oh Gods!

He made a request,
“Oh Gods of this forest
I’m leaving her
Under your care.”

“In this dark hour
I’m leaving her here
Like a strange man,
Having no concern.”

He walked out

In that dark night,
He walked out,
Left and right,
Hurting his feet.

War Never Solves Anything

Of battles won and noble soldiers you hear the old balladeer sing
But war only brings death and suffering and war never solves anything
And the mental scars of war keep festering long after the battle does end
You badly injure or kill someone's loved one that person will not be your friend.

For God and the flag of their Nation too many in battle have died
And the Government honour war heroes in their false show of patriotic pride
But the fact is their young lives were wasted and the fact with us sadly remain
That old battles are never over and for old grieviances human blood spilt again.

War weaponry and explosives big business in a World where human life is taken cheap
By some a human life seen as of no more value than that of a cow's or a sheep
From history we have not learned the war supposed to end all wars long gone
Yet every day more violence and terror and war and war mongering lives on.

Of battles won and acts of war bravery so many songs written and sung
And war instigated by old men must always be fought by the young
But the song for the young dead war hero to the hero's mum to it has a bitter ring
And war is a waste of human life for war never solves anything.

Lie

Look at me;
tell me i am not good enough,
tell me i should not be here,
for thoese people who are so dear,
but for the ones who live in fear.
Look at me;
tell me you hate me,
but would always date me.
Look at me;
tell me i suck,
then you better learn to duck.
tell me i cry,
when all you will ever see is bye.
tell me the reason why,
all you ever do is lie.
