Enquiries
The only reason why I enquire others
Of their standing and their kids’ position
Is so I can tell them about myself.
What affection will be transacted?

Standing On The Edge
In the middle of the night
I had a vision
It was bigger than life
Standing on the edge of my bed
She said come here, dont be afraid
Her tongue opened like a shot
Oh bang bang
Ten feet tall, laser eyes
Killer body, killer thighs
She drew me a fine line
Whats wrong whats right
I didnt know what to think
She seemed to know what to drink
I was stunned by her gun
Couldnt walk, couldnt run
Well she drew me a picture
And it seemed so true
Standing on the edge
And watching my life flash by
Standing on the edge
Shes lookin right through my eyes
Love is passin by
Right before my eyes
And Im wondering why
Whats the reason
That Im standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Right here in my face
I had a vision
That was bigger than life
Oh connie likes nighttime, every night
Connie likes candy, every bite
All day sucker, connie might
Swallow that thing cause she does it right
Im weak in the knees
Im beggin you please
Just ask for more
She just wants affection
My soldiers at attention
No I dont know
Why youre doin this to me
Standing on the edge
And watching my life flash by
Standing on the edge
Shes lookin right through my eyes
Love is passin by
Right before my eyes
And Im wondering why
Whats the reason
That Im standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Well she told me
In the biblical sense
And she told me
In the strictest confidence
She told me
We were worlds apart
She told me, she told me
I dont know why Im here
She said, dont be afraid
Standing on the edge
And watching my life flash by
Standing on the edge
Youre lookin right through my eyes
Standing on the edge
Light flashes before my eyes
Standing on the edge
And watchin my world crash by
Love is passing by
Right before my eyes
And I wonder why
Whats the reason
That Im standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Standing on the edge
Im standing on the edge (repeat and fade)

My Reason
live a life that's sheltered
I'm constantly alone
reporting on my weakness
there's emptiness at home
I need to find a reason
to live this way
I'm running out of patience and my life is over
I'm standing here but I'm on my way
searching to find them answer
standing here but it's all the same
and I'm running out of patience
well I will obtain
my reason
for you
and I have gained
a reason
for you
but you left me
you left me here and I'm all alone
theres drifting by another scent
I take pity in myself
searching the event that kept me in this hell
I need to find a reason
to live this way
I'm running out of patience and my life is over
I'm standing here but I'm on my way
searching to find them answer
standing here but it's all the same
and I'm running out of patience
well I will obtain
my reason
for you
well I have gave
a reason
for you
but you left me
you left me here and I'm all alone
I'm all alone
I'm all alone
I'm all alone
I'm all a
a(strech out a long time)
well I'm searching to find my reason
to find a reason
to find my reason why I need you
and I need you
and I want you
but I need to
get away from you
and I need you
and I want you
but I need to
get away from you
and I need you
and I want you
but I need to
get away from you
and I need you
and I want you
but I need to
get away from you
well I will take my reason for you
and I needed someone to love me
but you just left me
here and allowed me
you know I needed someone to love me
but I'm all alone

Love & Affection
You got the fire, baby, i got the heat, can you handle it?
I got the time, babe, you got the need, oh surrender it
Oh, it's a passion crime with a danger sign, oh, can you handle it?
Yeah
You're just another girl, i'm just another man, it's just another night
Whoa, whoa yeah
Don't gimme love and affection
Or what you think it should be
Don't gimme love, the wrong reason
Yeah, it don't matter to me
I got the heart, babe, you got the beat, take a chance on me
We got the night babe, we got the dream, oh imagine it
Don't gimme love and affection
Or what you think it should be
Don't gimme love, the wrong reason
Yeah, it don't matter to me
I don't need your understandin'
Oh babe can't you understand me
C'mon try and see
Yeah, yeah
Oh, it's a passion play in a diff'rent way
Oh can you handle it, yeah
You're just another girl, i'm just another man, it's just another night
Whoa, whoa yeah
I don't need (i don't need)
Don't need your heart (i don't need)
No understandin' (i don't need it)
No affection
(whoa oh yeah)
Don't give me love (don't give me love)
Love (i don't need)
And affection (and affection)
Don't gimme love (i don't need it)
Gimme what you got
Oh
(don't give me love) love
(i don't need the wrong reason) the wrong reason
I don't need it (i don't need)
Don't need it
Oh babe
(i don't need) need
(i don't need your understandin') your understandin'
(i don't need)
Oh
(don't give me love)
(i don't need)
And affection
Give me all you got
Give it all, give it all
Give it all
(don't give me love)
(i don't need)
The wrong reason

I Love....
i love...
that's the reason i walk,
the reason i breathe.
the reason i grieve.
the reason i dance.
the reason i smile.
the reason i listen.
the reason i offer a hand.
the reason i see beauty.
the reason i see both darkness,
and light....
the reason i take chances.
the reason i keep going.
the reason i get angry.
the reason i forgive.
the reason i touch.
the reason i question.
the reason i believe.
the reason i am tolerant.
the reason i understand.
the reason i fall.
the reason i fly.
the reason i write...
the reason i am what i am!

Hold Your Position (Stones)
Now here comes the great musical thing called "hold your position"
Rasta, them style ya a just levelment Uncle seen
Hold me position, Just a hold me position
I ya, hold me position, just a hold me position
Go on, hold me position, just a hold me position
Just like Jesus Christ in the valley of decision
Devil come along and tru to deceive man through him
Got him plan from the older one
Him had to hold him position, had to hold him position yeh
Hold him position, had to hold him position
Well rhythm like this makes me and me daughter
Go down at the dance, bubble on the corner
When the rhythm is sweet, we a go hold tighter
Rub-adub like this makes you go one
So you hold your position
Say you hold you position aya
Hold your position, say hold your position
Things and time was a getting slow let off the rhythm
Let the good time roll
Don't bother go a slow and stay a back row
I man come to make the rhythm
Just a rock and flow, because me hold me position
Just a hold me position
Special request to 39 Acker Tree, Frontline, everyman on Kime
UB40 say come and rhyme
Yes, Daddy Stone, me in the dance hall style
So we really come to make it versatile
Because one of a kind we come to blow your mind
So you should hold you position
Yes, hold your position, aya
Hold your position, hold your position
Hold Your Position (cont'd) Stones
Skank steady, Skank Steady
I tell you rock the rhythm
You should skank down steady
You know you say, it heavier than lead
Kinda tougher than tough
You know that Jah, Jah covers
Since he stands over us
So hold your position
Hold your position
Move to the east, and you could a move to the west
Lyrics like this Jab know never go jest
Say chunk ice water say right to your chest
Intercity, outer city everywhere the best you better
Hold you position, just hold your position
Hold you position, say hold your position
Well rhythm like this is really so hot
Let off the vilse because a legal shot
Because we hold our position
Yes, we hold our position aya
Hold our position yes, hold our position
Hold on tight never let go
Tee, ta, tee, say them all in a row
Donkey want water, you should hold him
Joe hold on tight and never let go
Hold your position, just hold your position
Hold your position a ya, just hold your position
Wah dat, hold your position
I say hold your position settle hold your position John
Hold you position Aunty, hold your position
Say hold your position go on
Hold your position, tell them rhythm so crucial
Rhythm so nice like sugar, like a spice
Cause when we a come a dance give you rough, nough, choice
A youth like me should a drive Rolls Royce
Sugar my tea baby, you're irie thought the two of us
Will go to bed cosy
Just a hold me position, hold me position

The Extasie
Sat we two, one another best,
Bodies were left; souls rose and met.
They transacted their love at best.
Struck by the sight of their bodies,
Motionless, the souls asked themselves:
‘Our bodies why so we forbear?
They are ours, though they are not we.’
We are flames and they are matter.
‘We owe them thanks because they thus
did us, to us, a first convoy
yielded their forces, senses to us.’
The souls returned to their bodies,
And declared in solemnity:
“To feel love, we live in bodies.”

Justine
You keep your pretty girls
Chained inside the dungeon
And diamonds and pearls
You keep them a'coming
Give them all of your affection
You keep your naughty boys
Locked inside the kitchen
And when they make a noise
A swish of your hand keeps them
Screaming out for your affection
I don't know the why's or wherefores
I don't what's wrong or right
I just know at night
You give them all of your affection
You keep your servants down
Swinging from the gallows
And when they come round
Oh you smile and you say hello
Give them all of your affection
You give them all of your affection
You give them all of your affection

Ultimate Love
Never seen the Mona Lisa
Never walked across the moon
Never been to Casa Blanca
But I've been to Cancun
I'll never make the Fortune 500
On what I get paid
Please don't pity me,
'Cause I've got everything I need
Life don't get no better
I could live forever and never top this
Oh, I'm in poll position
Got a sweet suspicion there ain't nothin'
I've missed
Baby look at us
Standing in the middle of this ultimate love
When I was seventeen I shook
Joe Namath's hand
Once I won karaoke singin' "Piano Man"
One time in Vegas I won me 700 bucks
That's all real cool stuff but it don't
Measure up
Life don't get no better
I could live forever and never top this
Oh, I'm in poll position
Got a sweet suspicion there ain't nothin'
I've missed
Baby look at us
Standing in the middle of this ultimate love
Well, I don't know too much,
but I know this love
Is bigger than the both of us
Life don't get no better
I could live forever and never top this
Oh, I'm in poll position
Got a sweet suspicion that there ain't nothin'
I've missed
Baby look at us
Standing in the middle of this ultimate love
Love, love

Slipping Away
I won't let you down
The words you said to me
It's echoing the sound
Of what would never be
I'm standing here alone
The memories remain
The same familiar home
But nothing looks the same
And I'm standing here alone
Can't tell if I'm awake
Reality is gone
In a dream I can't escape
You said
Hold on
But I feel like
I'm slipping away
I'm getting through it now
I guess it's plain to see
That everything I am
Is not everything you need

Sister Madly
Now youre heading down to get someone
Shouldve done what he had to do years ago
The position is coming through
All the people that youre standing on
All the people that youre standing on
Now youre heading down to be someone
Someone that youve seen in a magazine
Your premonition is coming true
Oh baby youre not so green
No baby youre not so green
No baby youre nutso
Sister madly waking up the dead
Youre systematically stepping on my head
Now youre heading down to find something
Something that you buried in your backyard
The position is coming through
From all the dirt that youre digging up
From all the dirt that youre digging up
Now youre heading down to be somewhere
Somewhere you imagined in your wildest dream
The opposition is coming through
From all the people that youre standing on
From all the people that youre standing on
Now youd better take a firm hand
Sister madly waking up the dead
Youre systematically stepping on my head
Now youre heading down to get someone
Someone that you shouldve had years ago
The position is coming through
All the people that youre standing on
All the people that youre standing on
Youre hard to get a hand on
Sister madly waking up the dead
Systematically stepping on my head

Our Destiny
Standing here on the threshold
of a brand new dawn,
we ponder over things
wondering if we belong
within this crazy world of ours.
Wondering if our destiny
waits for us somewhere else.
We never know the outcome
until the time comes along.
There is no way to change it
and no reason to do it.
Just let the future
shape our destiny
whenever and wherever
that might eventually be.

Piano Lessons
Piano lessons and the key notes that touched your heart,
My fingers on the keys are like my fingers on your love;
And there you sat and watched me play all day long.
Enquire into my past and enquire into my love today,
For tomorrow comes and you will be with me again;
Because you are the one that i love and,
These piano lessons are meant for your love.

The peacock’s dance
I gave hugs to the kids of colleagues
So that they would in turn give mine their hugs.
Also I went to give hugs to the kids
In return for the hugs my kids have got.
How lovely my kids are in others’ arms!
I bask in the false glory built around.
Such glories are built on mutual concerns
And on the obligatory comments.
Participants as the only audience,
Merits are weighed with mutuality,
Unlike the audience other than participants.
Peacocks judge peacocks’ dances reciprocally
Unlike other birds watching peacocks’ dances..

Kids
Kids - kids, Christmas i-is for kids
Look around and you will see
Kids from one to ninety-three
Laughin', lovin' life and bein' kids
Kids - ki-i-i-ids, Christmas i-is for kids
Kids like you and little brother
Aunts and uncles, dads and mothers
Grandma, grandpa an' all the other kids
Daddy runs the 'lectric train
While all the children wait in vain
To take their turn
At playin' engineer
Grandpa catches grandma's cheek
And all the family sneaks a peak
And suddenly
Their wrinkles disappear
Take a look at Betty Joe
Underneath the mistletoe
Pretending that
She doesn't know it's there
And in the front yard Uncle Mike
Just fell off brother's brand new bike
There's Christmas cheer
And laughter everywhere
Kids (kids) - ki-i-i-ids (kids)
Christmas i-is for kids
Christmas time is here again
And now it's when the fun begins
This time of year we all turn into kids...

Big Kids
Lyrics: daryl hall, john oates
Music: daryl hall
Got a good education now
And Im ready for the world (yeah)
Weve been going together
Its gonna last forever, it aint never gonna change
Im a real hard charger (yeah)
Everybodys gonna listen to me
Were a winning combination, that nobodys gonna rearrange
Big kids breakin up cause theyre lookin for fun
Everybodys leavin, boy-girl on the run
My situations static, theres no reason to fear
Its too calm around me and it cant happen here
Big kids - think they know it all
Big kids - think theyve got the world up against the wall
All the grown-ups show me that theyre only big kids in disguise
Who do you think your leaders are? big kids
Who do you think your heros are? big kids
I may never reach maturity but, baby, Im gonna try
