Gee, You're So Beautiful That It's Starting To Rain

Oh, Marcia,
I want your long blonde beauty
to be taught in high school,
so kids will learn that God
lives like music in the skin
and sounds like a sunshine harpsicord.
I want high school report cards
to look like this:

What Did You Learn At School Today?

1
What do kids learn
say on the first day at school?
...just some light-hearted verse follows...

2
See it's Tim’s first day
at high school;
see dad’s come to pick up Tim
See all the kids are coming out of school
And you can see Tim too
Do you see Tim?
He is walking
and Dad waves to him
and Tim gets in the car

and Dad says:
“Hi Tim…Did you enjoy school? ”

“Yes, ” says Tim, looking serious

“And what did you learn, Tim
on your first day at high school? ”

“I learned, ” says little Tim
“that all my friends get more pocket money
than I do! ”

Between High School & Old School

Hey hey
Hey hey
I guess I'm a loner and I don't fit in (No...)
I ain't too comfortable in my skin (Oh...)
An' I don't play well with the others
I'm stuck somewhere between high school and old school
I can't decide between my rules and your rules
Hey hey
Hey hey
Nobody wants me hanging round
Unless it's from a tree in the middle of town
And I'm out of step with the others
I'm stuck somewhere between high school and old school
I can't decide between my rules and your rules
I'm stuck somewhere between high school and old school
So I defy maybe all rules maybe no rules
My clothes don't make me
My hair ain't cut right
And I don't care much
No I don't care at all
I guess my brain is out of sync, I think
I'm stuck somewhere between high school and old school
I can't decide between my rules and your rules
I'm stuck somewhere between high school and old school
I can't decide, I just can't decide
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Hey hey hey
Aw...

Highschool Friendships

High school friendships rarely last
Eventually school becomes a blurry past
As we get caught up in our lives
Forget to be good husbands and wives
Constantly working to pay bills and taxes
No one stops and relaxes
Kids are ignored by busy parents
Who always get in arguments
As we move along its work, eat, sleep
We all continue weather happy or sad
And sometimes we miss the high school friends we had

Back In The Days

When I was in high school, [1]
When I was in high school, [2]
I was very loud. [1]
I was very shy. [2]
I had a lot of friends, [1]
I had little friends, [2]
my parents were proud, [1]
my parents lived a lie. [2]

When I was in high school, [1]
When I was in high school, [2]
prom was coming next week. [1]
prom was soon coming up. [2]
Daddy bought me a dress, [1]
Momma took me to a shop, [2]
So nervous I couldn't breathe. [1]
bought me a black tux. [2]

When I was in high school, [1]
When I was in high school, [2]
I was the prettiest of them all. [1]
I wasn't noticed well. [2]
There's this boy I barely noticed, [1]
The prettiest girl in school... [2]
is so handsome and so tall. [1]
so pretty and so swell. [2]

When I was in high school, [1]
When I was in high school, [2]
he reached to hold my hand. [1]
I reached for her hand. [2]
As nervous as he was, [1]
My heart shook; my voice was weak, [2]
he asked me to the dance. [1]
I asked her to the dance. [2]

When I was in high school, [1]
When I was in high school, [2]
after the prom I got the news. [1]
I'm to go to war next week. [2]
He was drafted in the army, [1]
I wish there was a way, [2]
and to be sent off too soon. [1]
all I could do was pray. [2]

When I was in high school, [1]
When I was in high school, [2]
I watched him be taken away. [1]
I told her, 'I love you.' [2]
That tall and handsome man, [1]
Tears fell down her cheeks, [2]
is still in my heart to this day. [1]
her hand in marriage; can't take me away. [2]

Poem: 'Self-Abandonment

- 9. May.2006 -

The kids at school were mean to her
They called her nasty names
The kids at school abandoned her
Left her out of all their games
The kids at school hurt her badly
With each word that cruelly spoke
The kids at school were so unloving
As they slowly stole her hope
The kids at school were never kind
They put her through unspeakable hell
The kids at school gave up on her
So she gave up on herself…

when she turned twenty four

what happen to her plans?
She was gonna be an actress
she was gonna be a star
she was gonna shake her ass
on the hood of WhiteSnakes car
her yellow SUV is now the enemy
looks at her average life
and nothing has been all right

there was U2 and Blondie
and music still on MTV
her two kids in high school
they tell her that shes uncool
but she still preoccupied

thought shed get a hand
on a member of Duran Duran
Wheres the mini-skirt made of snake skin
and whos the other guy that's singing in Van Halen
when did reality become T.V.
what ever happened to sitcoms, game shows

And when did Ozzy become an actor?

All' That's On Their Perverted Minds

Sports.
Entertainment.
And a preoccupation with sex.

'Today?
That's how the kids are,
When graduating from high school...
And moving on to college.
That is 'all' that's on their perverted minds! '

High school?
This is a recent report on preschool children!
And why certified teachers are leaving,
To find better use of their teaching skills...
In other industries.

And...
Most of them have been saying,
How satisfied they have become...
In locating teaching positions 'and' mates,
At the various halfway houses across the country.

They have discovered that ex-convicts,
Are very receptive and studious.
Thus providing them an attention,
That appeals to their romantic inclinations!

Freshman Year

It was so cool being a freashman
That, I must say
I got a lot of slack
And didn't get homework every day

My brother's one grade up
And he spent hours doing work
I don't want to be an upperclassman
Cuz freshman has it's perks

You get picked on, but not too much
You're still a kid, out of touch

You find out what your subgroup is and
where they all come from
It's that freshman year, that you learn to love
The joys of life and high school years
The teachers who will lend an ear
The kids who like to beat you up
And then the emos who don't smile enough

Not everyone experiences this, that is way too true
But I sure did, my darling, and i know you did too
I loved the pressure and the one-upping
I loved the challenge, never stopping

I loved knowing I could always move on
And that the day is never too long
That heartache happens, and people will fail
You'll get bad report cards in the mail
I know this may seem way too optimistic
But I'm not in the mood to give any lip

I'm on my way to sophmore year
A few more years and then NO MORE SCHOOL
Then on too college, then to work
I want to stay a freshmanic fool! ! ;)

[yes i know, this is a very strage and
quirky poem but I'm in a strange and quirky mood]

Weird At My School

1-2-3-4
My father lives in arabia
And I live right here at my school
I took his plane to columbia
So I could sail at my school(? ) *
Its weird at my school
Weird at my school(3x)
My mothers glad that I am here
So she can visit my school
I cant believe shes so pretty
Im a son of a bitch at my school
Weird at my school(4x)
And my best friend, my cousin eleanor
She lives far away from the doors of my school
And often times, you know I fantasize
That I have sex with the nuns at my school
Its weird at my school
Weird at my school(7x)
(transcribed by moses boole)
* : or so I could sell at my school (according to rhys henry mason)

From High School

Don’t you feel that we really belong because
There are windmills in your eyes
Darker than for your mother’s sadness when she goes
Away into the loneliness in her kitchen:
And there doesn’t have to be any more reason for these
Tattoos except that I went away to Spain so many odd years
Ago:
I barely graduated high school: a truant with a purple
And silver jaw who is no longer beautiful-
Lost so long ago: kidnapped by the long extinctions of fireworks:
Each peeling whistle strangely reminiscent of our lives together,
Until collected under another school bus, I have nothing
Else to do but to listen to the long day as it rains
In fake knives- and my Muse named Alma turns in,
Frowning over my misuse of the queens language and all of
My scars, scarred like a spearing pylon
Presumptuous in the bay that the terrapins circle, with jokes
And farts, as she bites her fingernails,
And the green cannons bask in the seashells of the afternoon sky:
It might as well be Easter with the beauty resurrected there:
And the airplanes like metamorphosed school buses,
And the stewardesses languishing there, high atop the
Revolutions and serving drinks, smiling with the affable
Insouciance that I remembered all of my sweet hearts giving to me
From high school.

O The Pressures Of School

O the pressures of school
It is so heavy I feel like a mule
Slave everyday
I do not want to stay

O the pressures of school
The teachers know everything
And we know nothing
Choosing is not a choice
We are taught to be successful from people who are not
Just wish to be and wish us to be
But they know most of us will fail
Because we will bail
And live in jail
So we can tell our tale
Of how badly we wanted to prevail
But the pressures of school were too great

I don’t think they remember what its like to be in high school
Don’t they remember the pressures from their teachers to be better?
From there students to do drugs and smoke?
To choose to do shit that makes pressures go away but bring some different pressures?
At least we have a choice to do that shit
I think that’s where kids get caught
Choice, freedom, rebel…
Sweet sounds for a teenager worth the price
We hold the dice when it comes to these decisions
Finally we can control something
We are our own bosses
Yes we may loose
But lucky seven
Will take us to heaven

It is not easy finishing school
We are also just starting our complicated lives
Yes we need some guidance
But we don’t need to be on a choke hold
We don’t want to do what we’re told

We have pressures from society
From our family
From the academy
Hell we even have pressures from the TV!
Yet they still don’t see the large burden they put on our shoulders
They think, ‘what can some more pressure do?
Besides this pressure is good for you.’

All I want to do is write poetry
It is my drug
So I don’t have the pressures of taking drugs
It is my addiction
So I don’t need any smokes
It is in my family
So I don’t need pressures from my family
It is even my TV
So I don’t need a TV
So I can tell myself how I am supposed to look and how I am supposed to live my life
It is all I want from school
I know my English and I know how I feel
So I don’t need the pressures of school
All you need to be a poet
Is to turn your feelings into words
You don’t have to be successful
As long as it feeds you’re own pressures rather than the pressures of society

Yet O the pressures of school are so great
I cannot escape
Until their pressures are obliterate
