i am afraid i have been too literal
for the main reason that i want you to understand easily
what i mean
to lighten what heavy load
you have there

i am sleepy and you expect more of those
metaphors

they have all left this place
that many have misunderstood

now Loleng
each word has its own moving meaning

a dung for a cow
something that is wet for rain

each word has its own limited reality
which you must enclose and
capture
a niche for instance
and a flower
and white curtain all for a wall

but it will not be for long Loleng
when leaving is too painful when things cannot be prevented
from happening

like birth for a start then sometimes death in the middle
instead of marriage

what words will i use Loleng to comfort you?
what metaphors can i think of
to appease you
or trick you into an exit?

perhaps only silence, only silence

perhaps even nothing at all
to comfort you because
the dark nights are getting long
storms more turbulent

and many people as indifferent as
the blank stares that you
see when they shrug their shoulders

The river gull looks for starfish at river
As poet looks for word’s procession of azure
What will jingle at foot of stone culture diamond!

Could butterfly hold up the rainbow in his earth?

There you come again, I see you're having your everlasting smile on your
face, like now n' then.
I cannot hide, I cannot fight, I cannot go, you know, you know, you

that you do not have to entertain anybody, that you do not have to
entertain my cat,

Please Be Quiet

He spoke and spoke so many words
and she just silently thought.
He had an opinion on everything.
She listened and then she sought
silence again, just said Amen
to all those words he said,
Soon thoughts came to her head.

She thought about life.
She thought about love.
She thought about
all he was speaking of.
She thought about nights
where silence prevailed.
She thought about days
where the speaking assailed
her ears.
She'd been thinking and thinking
for too many years.
The quietness was peaceful
but now brought her to tears.

For she missed the sound
of all his words.
She missed everything he said.
He was gone and all was quiet
for all his words were dead.
The thoughts were still there.

For those I love I'm only willing fight.
With the guidance of a light.
Let me be a bringer of peace.
Let me be part of the entire world.

For knowledge is power.
And sometimes its needed.
To remove blinders engraved.
The human slave.
By what is beyond his control.
Let me dig deep into every soul.

A war has been declared.

Silence...

Often i stand and stare
into the diminishing light of the day
horizon gradually fading into nothingness
willow and pine piercing the night
the earth ruptures into a song;
accompanied with shrill whistles in the dark
the howling of the wolves and brisk blaring of the wind
Silence enters into the serene beauty of the dusk.

Silence that invites me to come and see
Silence that asks me to reveal
Silence that wants me to make unwanted promises
Silence that does nothing but ruptures a wound deep within

Silence that drags along unwanted pain
Silence that emulsifies unspoken words of love and gain
Silence that was till then pressed within my lips

An Argument Forgotten

Some memories need to be re-written to become clear
Because they are newly projected as the events disappear
Things that were said may not apply again in this time
Although the words spoken linger like a committed crime
Words spoken in anger and frustration cut like a knife
Inflicting deep wounds that break open and come to life

Words used as a weapon leave scars in places hidden
But I carry them around with me disguised as forbidden
There is this gutting feeling that burns and hurt my head
The things that were said were meant to destroy and shred
I am no longer free because the burden is heavy and cold
Feelings of despair inflict dark thumbprints like a mold

It is hard to surface after the disappointment moved in
I feel lost and heartbroken and nothing is as it has been
Dark shadows and fog weigh heavy on my recollection
And no excuse I make can erase the threatening infection
I feel every letter of each word that you screamed out loud
Bouncing off my conscience like a suffocating dust cloud

Sitting down in silence your voice still echoes in my mind
But now reason and truth surfaces slowly no longer undefined
I know that your love for me made you insecure and lost
Somehow I did not make it clear that I love you at all cost
I can smile again because loving you gives me perspective

Your Gaze Has Always Made A Difference

i wonder why your gaze makes
a lot of difference from all the gazes
i have seen in my lifetime

i look at you. I steal a moment to
look at you. I am not afraid. I am silent
about this gaze. It is true.
Your eyes are different. They speak
They sing a love song.
Not necessarily for me.
But i like it that way. For me.For me?

then you gaze at me. I pretend
I do not understand the language
of your eyelashes. They say,
why are you avoiding me?
Don't you know that my eyes
did not sleep last night because
you were there kissing my lips
in the metaphors dancing
in the ceiling?

I stop thinking. This cannot be.
How are we speaking in the midst
of this crowd without using
a word, or even a syllable?

I walk away. No, this cannot be.
This is strange. This is impossible.
Two gazes speaking a language
of their own. Saying: this is love.
This is desire. And the night is
waiting. It is short. It not demanding
in knowing a true name, or a place, or
a space in the future.

I close my eyes. I open them again.
I walk away. Now, I am tellling myself
I cannot hear you. I am safe.
