Words Are Useful

in times of breaking up
words are useful

gently the words must be uttered
like some fruits in a silver platter

nothing hurtful
no one to blame

words become memories
flowers that you pick and then throw away

just like that
as easy as i once know you...

I Think That...(thoughts on words and promises)

Words… are so easy to say
Promises, ne’er so hard to keep

Words… easily written
Promises, not to be shallow or deep

Words…so effortlessly uttered
Promises, should never be broken

Words…so unthinkingly muttered
Promises, not given only in token

Words…so empty… so easy to say
Promises… never just idle notions

Words should be true in every way…and
Promises be pledges of devotions

The Things You Say

Words
Said in a careless huff as you walked away
Hurt
Words
Said in a whispered excited voice
Caused electricity in me
Words
Said in a caring loving way
Were a balm for the wound in me
Words
Said in an angry menacing way
Felt like daggers thrown at me
Words
Said like sugary sweet morning due
Caused my knees to go weak
Words
Words, Words, Words..
Your words have so much power over me
Words
Said like a magic spell
Have enchanted me
Words
You throw around those words so carelessly
Do you know
Words
How they have been affecting and inflicting me..

A Silver Platter

the silver platter is what your family gives you
your father makes it and you mother polishes it
and you are given what you need
in your life
some fruits and bread and meat and water
that you need in your journey when they start sending you away and
when they finally leave you
as what this world demands, the usual flow of life and the fading
death, and you find yourself still
thinking and coping and running and stopping and resting and running and walking and curling and stretching what
is all there,
then everything is consumed, the silver platter has nothing, tarnished
and you begin to worry
what used to be is not anymore,
you think life ends just like that,
no

reality bites now, like a snake, or a rabid dog, and you despise the
silver platter
its lasting effect on you, how it made you weak and unthinking,
complacent
and unable to grow your trees and eat the fruits
to raise your goats and eat their meat
to live your own life
and be strong yourself in the darkness that comes
when you still want to play

it is not too late, take the silver platter and throw it away
or bury it
lest another one comes and takes it and be another victim
of its temporary glow that almost killed you

Practice in practice is

Words lost ethical reconsecration in
appeasing to split a judges decision.
Words arranged pick truths digestion
like writing poetry watching television.
Words cannons rule laws working into
masks to blame forgives poor in sight.
Words ease pain words part troubles
words fog a bank rivers to lose against.
Words infuse the confused purpose lent
to raise a level of practise in fresh breath.
Word levels life spent reaching all words
since words all spent still am I reaching into.

Words

Words on this paper
Words in my head
Words while I'm texting
Computing
Unsaid
Words between people
Words on the phone
Words upon words
Even when I'm alone
Words from the Bible
I question
Don't mesh
Words from pornography
Making them flesh
Words with flat letters
Written in black
Good words and bad words
You cannot take back
Words that are shallow
Words that are deep
When they're too many
They put me to sleep
Words that I'm writing
And rhyming you read
Whatever I'm saying
There's prolly no need
Words from the alphabet
Words that can't be
When you are blind
And it's Braile that you see
Words that are worthless
And said on the fly
My words or your words
Are most likely lies
Words in a sentence
Wise words or fair
The only words earnest
Are those said in prayer

Lip Service

Words inspire and words destroy
Words conspire and words annoy
Words spread freedom and words detain
Words believe them in sound refrain
Words of passion in words misleading
Words without action are words without meaning

The Human Mouth

The human mouth is great,
When sacred be the words,
That issue forth from heart,
To change a man’s sad fate!

But, none really know,
What uncouth words come out;
Unpredictable’s the mouth,
Of evil men/ women.

The scene determines words!
And words can do magic;
The face may lag behind,
The uttered words, sometimes.

Yet, words may do damage,
That ne’er can be undone;
Then, seal your lips and see,
Much harm can elude us!

The Words

Do you know how it torches,
When you throw the words of fire?
Do you know how it freezes a heart,
When you throw the words of ice?
Do you know how the thoughts swirl,
When you blow the words of storm?
Do you know how it irritates the eyes,
When you insult with the words of sands?
How nice it is to hear the words of breeze,
That cools hot mind and pacifies the palpitating heart!

Opportune Moment

Never ask me why I became a writer
because I couldn’t tell you why.
I just pick up a pen
and the words just flow again
off the top of my head.
I never planned to become a writer,
it just happened.
One day I picked up a pen
to doodle a bit
and the words came streaming out.
Now after over forty years
the words keep coming out.
I have no problem with that,
though there is times I wish
they’d pick a more opportune moment
when they are about to arrive.

Words between words

Words between words
~
I try and say most things subtle
To slip words between words
In the hope you will read and hear
Sometimes I speak with blunt honesty
Sometimes wish I just didn’t speak
Sketching in secret characters
Telling stories built on fantasy
When a subtle look reveals
The obvious biography
Those words between words
What I write, what I speak
I understand words more than people
Words always seem easy
We all have things we wish to say
Some are said, others kept
All that is written then spoken
Are words between words

Words Sometimes Take On A Own Meaning

Words sometimes take on a own meaning
and sometimes they are sharp and painful
as if there is much more to words

as if a kind of secret knowledge hides in them
that are sometimes something moving.
Words sometimes take on a own meaning

but somehow words can at times miss things
and are sometimes dependent on feelings
as if there is much more to words

when through it all love brings a kind of bonding
and so you and I are attractive to each other.
Words sometimes take on a own meaning

and daily a bond develops between us,
while you become more considerable to me,
as if there is much more to words

you constantly live in my thoughts,
while love becomes real through words.
Words sometimes take on a own meaning
as if there is much more to words…

Dear One

Dear one, how do I find the words,
the words I need to say?
Do they even exist my love?
For words can never convey
my feelings
my emotions,
my love for you
not on any day.

Dear one,
What good are words
that only drift away?
Words that I need to stay,
uttered sounds are here a while.
I speak and then I smile
hoping that in some small way
you'll know on every day

You are my dear one.

Honkey Tonk Angels

As I sit here tonite the jukeboxs playin
the song about the wild side of life
as I listen to the words they are saying
it brings memories when I was a trusted wife
It was not God who made Honky Tonk Angels
as you said in the words of youre song
too many times married men think, theyre still single
and thats why many a poor girl do go wrong
Its a shame that all the blame is on us women
its not true that only you men feel the same
from the start most every heart thats ever broken
was because there always was a man to blame
It was not God who made HTA
as you said in the words of youre song
too many times married men think, theyre still single
and thats why many a poor girl do go wrong

Cousins Forever

It's funny what happens when death Arrives.
It's funny what happens when you say Good-byes.
Memories go rushing through your Head.
Words remembered that were Said.
Some words happy, Some words sad,
Some words funny, Some words mad.
When they told me you went Away,
I realized your memories would always Stay.
We grew up together, We grew apart.
The childhood memories will remain in my
Heart.
Cousins FOREVER we will always be!
You'll ALWAYS remain a part of me!
I'll always remember. I'll always Love You!

Words are not just words

i'm confused and lost in my thoughts,
but what you said,
really had affected me,
i felt like a prize ppl want,
once they get it,
there will be nothing else,
that they would want,
never knew words can hurt so much,
words were how my abuser,
knew how to get me to stay,
all of the lies he told,
it was so easy to believe,
becuz they hurt,
they still haunt me,
i admit that i still compare ppl,
from time to time,
it what i need to work on,
i hate that when somebody do,
one wrong thing,
i hold them accountable,
but yet why do i feel so bad,
when ppl have the right to pick their actions,
why do i think i'm the one to blame,
i did nothing wrong,
i feel guilt and shame,
what i have always felt all my life,
i continue to let ppl off easy,
when they hurt me,
i suck it up,
and pretend it don't hurt,
but at times,
i would rather cut myself,
just so i won't have to feel the pain,
and wonder what i did wrong to deserve it,
there are times i know i deserve better,
but the pain from the past,
attract me to ppl who don't know what they have,
until it gone.

Words

I know somebody that says things
without thinking about it
and without caring
about the impact of words.

Where words are at times innocent,
it can be deadly
and at times it’s impossible,
to make things
that has been said undone.

Words can make people,
can inspire, cheer on,
bring gladness,
but just like that
words can break people
and cause great unhappiness.

It’s wise to care about every word
and to protect your mouth
before you speak
and really hurt somebody.

Lord from my tongue, my mouth

Lord from my tongue, my mouth
and lips let there be
gently words,

from my tongue let there be
formed inspiring
words like rose petals

let my mouth open
like a beautiful morning breaking
between two shadows of
hills

let my lips give a smile
as sweet as that of a
kitten

let this poem be as sweet
as a flying kiss
gently so gently
landing on hers

Say The Words

Every light shines on you tonight
Making a fool out of me
Why wont this love leave me alone
All of the people in this smoky room
Crowded with faces I know
I feel them watching me watch you
Chorus
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words so I can leave its over
Your eyes are deeper
They are worthy of many words
But none I can conjure up will do for you
I shouldnt see you
cause I know my own motivation
Its taking too long for this love
To leave me alone
Chorus
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words so I can leave its over
Bridge
Oh love you worry me
When you say youll wait forever
I have another life
We just cannot be together
Chorus
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words say them for me
I need to hear you say its over
Say the words
Say the words
Say the words so I can leave its over

i teach my child by G. Abad

I.
I teach my child
To survive.
I begin with our words,
The simple words first
And last.
They are hardest to learn.
Words like home,
Or friend, or to forgive.
These words are relations.
They are difficult to bear;
Their fruits are unseen.
Or words that promise
Or dream.
Words like honor, or certainty,
Or cheer.
Rarest of sound,
Their roots run deep;
These are words that aspire,
They cast no shade.
These are not words
To speak.
These are the words
Of which we consist,
Indefinite,
Without other ground.

II.
My child
Is without syllables
To utter him,
Captive yet to his origin
In silence.
By every word
To rule his space,
He is released;
He is shaped by his speech.
Every act, too,
Is first without words.
There's no rehearsal
To adjust your deed
From direction of its words.
The words are given,

But there's no script.
Their play is hidden,
We are their stage.
These are the words
That offer to our care
Both sky and earth,
These same words
That may elude our acts.
If we speak them
But cannot meet their sound,
They strand us still
In our void,
Blank like the child
With the uphill silence
Of his words' climb.
And so,
I teach my child
To survive.
I begin with our words,
The simple words first
And last.
