Wooing Summer

because you are lonely
you woo for summer to come
you ask for the swing
and the breeze by the sea
under the coconut trees

but summer is hard to please
and what comes instead is the rain
bringing its mournful sound
the falling tears of the clouds
the heaviness of what it is carrying

but because you are lonely
and nothing seems to be of remedy
you accept the rain as it is
you accept its condolences
and you begin to understand its sympathies
and then you dance and sing with the rain
seeking the company of its miseries
and then you write: my life is lived, not in vain.

mid-summers Rain

-
MID-SUMMER’S RAIN!

Juicy water melons and iced buttermilk,
Cool breeze of summer with waves kissing
our feet,
These are a few blessings of an Indian
summer time,
Let’s walk the beaches with your hand in
mine!
O lovely summer time!

Sitting under the shade with cold lemonade,
I see the boats sailing, - their white dotted
sails!
While the surf riders perform their undulating
dance, -
As we sit under the sun-shade almost in a
trance!
O summer’s hypnotic trance!

Next I see the dark clouds on the horizon afar,
Soon they begin to cover the sky entire!
Rain drops keep falling as mid-summer’s rain,
As we kiss each other all drenched in the rain!
O how I wish to spend this summer with you, -
All over again! !

My Sneaking Tears

How heavy fell the rain that day
From burdened clouds of mournful grey.
The torrent forced them stay their height -
Composure swayed by onerous might.

My skin wrung wet with icy chill
As mud embraced that sodden hill;
But mind of mine had elsewhere gone -
'Twas clouds abandoned I was on.

The driving drops advanced their gears
To camouflage my sneaking tears -
Whence now did swell such floods of pain
To see me melt into this rain…

On equal bearing now were we:
This rain, myself, in harmony.

Rain Tears

Rain, tears, rain, tears,
Melding in torrential fears:
Chill of cloud; saddened eye-
In either way, a latent cry.

Rain, tears, rain, tears,
Married under sceptic jeers:
‘They'll never last.' Methinks not true, for
Either way, forever blue.

Rain, tears, rain, tears,
Simple love with lacy cares,
Their intercourse will ne'er refrain
From rain and tears and tears and rain.

Rain Rain Rain

Rain, Rain, Rain, come again and again,
In the winter, in the summer and in spring,
Come with joy, fall with happiness and go with sorrow,
Rain, Rain, Rain come again and again.

Rain, Rain, Rain come to relive earth's pain,
Rain, Rain, Rain come to make nature happy,
Rain, Rain, Rain come to make livings happy,
Rain, Rain, Rain come again and again.

Rain, Rain, Rain don't go away,
Rain, Rain, Rain i hope you will stay,
Rain, Rain, Rain come again and again.

There will be rain here
We normally run for shelter
Who wants to be wet in the rain
And look like a helpless chick in the drain?

There will be rain
And we will be seeking shades under the trees
And run towards waiting sheds where the rain
Cannot harm our sensibilities,

There will be rain and more rains to come
In our lives, and we always run for secure
Shelters, and we always have umbrellas,
And raincoats, and closed cars, we hide to places
Where The rain cannot harm us,

But today, there is rain, and I will take
Another action, I will not run for shelter,
Or take shades in trees, or be in waiting sheds,
I will not even open my car, get into it and close it,

I am not afraid of rain now; I have no fears getting wet
And look like a helpless chick, I will run in the
Middle of the rain, I will play in the rain, I will
Be with the rain throughout its pouring,
I will be wet, and it will rain and rain,
Let it rain and rain and rain
You will not see, my tears falling, tears hiding in the rain.

Its time to sing

Its time to sing
and dance in rain,
Its time to go out,
and get steep in rain.
Its time to forget
all the miseries of life,
Time to throw away,
the crutches and wyes
Its time to rejoice,
time to play,
With droplets in hand,
hope in eyes.

Its time to sing
and dance in rain,
Its time to go out,
and get soaked in rain,
Its time to swing,
Time to swill,
With serinette in hand,
sing with cuckoo,
sing with Peahen
Songs of life
Songs of joy.

Its time to sing
and dance in rain,
Its time to go out,
and flirt in rain,
Its time to meet
Time to greet
Its time to love,
Time to hug,
With hum on lips
and mistletoe in hand,
Kiss the life
embrace the love.

February Rain

To be the mud, the bog, the mire;
To soak the bones in February –
Eons from the autumn shower–
Even from a summer berry!

Sparrows chirp a desperate call,
Darting questions at the cows –
Oblivious to the dousing squall, they
Churn the sludge with pastern ploughs.

The crying air was lost in rhythm:
Drums incessant in the drops;
Not a chance for rainbow prism –
Even if the hammering stops!

Metallic chills entrap machines –
Tractors hushed within the shed.
Inside the house, a full cuisine
To bless with mead – and little said!

But out across the tiring field,
A sodden fox is hunting down
His prey of sorts – but nil of yield;
Perhaps he’ll starve; perhaps he’ll drown.

Still the clouds are hammering,
Hammering home their dreary aim –
A chatterbox in constant yammering,
Drenching all to make a claim.

I'll Take The Rain

The rain came down
The rain came down
The rain came down on me.

The wind blew strong
The summer song
Fades to memory

I knew you when
I loved you then
The summer's young and helpless.

You laid me bare
You marked me there
The promises we made.

I used to think
As birds take wing
They sing through life so why can't we?
You cling to this
You claim the best
If this is what you're offering
I'll take the rain
I'll take the rain
I'll take the rain.

The nighttime creases
Summer schemes
And stretches out to stay.
The sun shines down
You came around
You love easy days.

But now the sun

Under The Summer Rain

Drops rippling
In the lake where we were raised,
In the place where we met each other
Under the summer rain
Thunder cracks
Lightning threatens
Shadows on the dock, silenced
Calm, listening
To the summer rain
A splash in the distance
All of us wondering what emerged
Through the summer rain
The woods where we play empty
Heeding directions we’ve heard all these years
Under the summer rain
The time goes by so fast
Wasn’t it yesterday when we were
Six, seven, eight, listening
To the summer rain?
But we’re just as beautiful now
Peaceful, with everyone watching us
Through the summer rain
Don’t tell us we’re not like we used to be
We want it, we can’t help it
But we’re just as beautiful now
Watching the summer rain

Rain,rain

Why am I here if youre there
So far away its not fair
To be without you like this
I miss you more than you know
The nights are long
The days slow
Without the warmth of your kiss
Wish you were back here with me
Cause out my window
All is see is
Rain , rain in the sky
Everywhere I look my eyes see
Rain , rain fallin down
Crying as it hits the ground
Rain , rain in my heart
Every day that were apart
Rain , rain
Falling rain , rain
Rain , rain
Only rain , rain
The sun is strong when youre near
But when youre gone it disappears
Behind an ocean of blue
The telephones not good enough
It cant reach out it cant touch
Me like the way you do
Wish you would knock at my door
Cause only you can stop the pouring
Rain , rain in the sky
Everywhere I look my eyes see
Rain , rain fallin down
Crying as it hits the ground
Rain , rain in my heart
Every day that were apart
Rain , rain
Falling rain , rain
Rain , rain
Only rain , rain
Maybe ill go outside
And walk beneath the clouds
Pretend its you thats watching over me
This isnt the only thing that comes
Between us now
Baby soon well be together
Oooo
( everywhere I look I see rain )
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Rain
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Everywhere I look I see rain
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Rain
( everywhere I look I see rain )
Rain
( rain , rain in the sky )
( everywhere I look my eyes see rain )
Rain
( rain falling down )
Down
( crying as it hits the ground )
Dont , dont let it hit the ground
( rain , rain in my heart everyday that were apart )
( rain , rain )
Rain
( falling rain, rain )
Rain
( rain, rain )
Everywhere I look I see rain
Everywhere I look I see rain
But I dont see you
Youre not near me
I need you ooo
Rain
Itll never be the same
If you dont stop the rain

I am singing in the rain......

I am singing in the rain......

When the clouds above me so dark
When the stars are not be seen in the sky
When the moon is gone away from the site
When the cool breeze being to touch me softly
When the thunder and lightening make me afraid
Then the rain begin to shower upon me

Chorus....

I am singing and dancing in the rain
I am playing and falling in the rain
What a glorious feelings that I have when its rain

When I hold you hands and walk in the rain
When you arm around my waist hold like a chain
When my umbrella being to dance in the air
When the rain water rush down to the canal
When the street lights blink on the streets
Then my love on you is singing in the rain

Chorus....

I am singing and dancing in the rain
I am playing and falling in the rain

When The Rain Stopped Falling

there is this heavy rain
falling on top of your roof and it is so disturbing
that you wake up
and lock your windows
to shut yourself away from the sounds
of falling

but you cannot help worrying even when you cannot
literally hear the sound of the falling rain

you still imagine how they fall inside your mind
as though you can hear every syllable that every neddle of rain
is pricking in your brain
your ears
and your eyes still have the image of these
series of fallings

that even if the rain finally stopped
and you open your window to check
in the middle of this time
when morning cracks fromt the shutters of your windows

you still think like crazy
you hear the sound of the wind and it is like the sound of the falling
rain
and even if the wind has left like a leaf flown to the eastern side
of your house
even if there is no shadow of the leaf anymore
you hear your heart falling from your chest

now you must accept
leaving.
now you must accept the pain.
do not deny it.

it is you that is falling out
from the grace of her love.
it is you.

cry it out!
shout it!
it is you.!
it is you!
it is not the rain, it is not the wind, it is not the leaf that was blown away
towards the eastern part of the house.it is not the design of the house.
it is not the purple curtains. it is not the lonely courtyard
it is not the red bowl. it is not the tower.
it is not the blank sheets of paper.
it is not the bell.
it is not the winding stairs.
it is not the dirty garage.
it is not the scaffold.
it is not the white paint.
it is not the doorbell.
it is not the turbulence of the plane.
it is not the slap of the hand.
it is not the blue fan.
it is not the cellophance floating in the air and whirling in that corner
a dead-end.

it is you! and that is the truth!
be calm now. wipe the tears.
try sleep and dream.

The winters come.
I wanted just to say
That if I hold
Id hope youd fold
Open up inside, inside of me.
I used to think
As birds take wing
They sing through life so why cant we?
You cling to this
You claim your best
If this is what youre offering
Ill take the rain
Ill take the rain
Ill take the rain.
This winter song
Ill sing along
Ive searched its still refrain
Ill walk alone
Ive given this, take wing
Celebrate the rain.
I used to think
As birds take wing
They sing through life so why cant we?
You cling to this
You claim your best
If this is what youre offering
Ill take the rain
Ill take the rain
Ill take the rain.

Rain on tinned roof
Rain on concrete
Rain soaking into sands
Rain on soft earth
Rain on metal road
Rain on windscreen

Rain falling into the sea
Rain in the river

Rain on flowers
Rain on leaves
Rain under trees
Rain on hills

Rain on my skin…

Each with its own unique raga
Reverberates across the sky
On to the earth…

A Summer's Rain

I am not afraid to say
That I love a summer's rain
To listen to the pitter-patter of rain drops
Splash lightly upon the window panes

I love to gaze out at the falling rain
To see the plants and flowers sparkle in the misty haze
That covers the water coloured scene before me
Each dropp of water shimmering where it lay

I love to see the sun during a summer's rain
Its glistening beams spreading out far and wide
Creating a prism of wonderful colours
To form a beautiful rainbow across the sky

I love the smell after a summer's rain
When everything in sight is wash'd anew
The world seeming a little brighter now
That the summer rain is through

Rain-Stuck

rain within
takes me away from me
from the rain outside

throughout the day night
its falling hard
no trace of any map anywhere
no boundary line
no other objects
as far my eyes run

rain rain and falling water
with a ceaseless passion
can't close the eyes
can't sleep
can't think to write
a successful rain-poem

alone moving on the surface
as a rain-legend myself
no where dry anymore
nothing wants to be dried
but alone
and rain within

An Ordinary Summer Evening

On a temperate summer evening
am walking lonely under the vast horizon.
Hither and thither patches of clouds,
creating shapes like dwarfs and elves.
Soothing, gentle breeze flowing
breeze so soft as a new-born baby
kissing bare feet, wrist and palm.
Crows are taking homewards flight: a warm retreat,
the day must have be an auspicious one.
Clouds are now evenly spread-
not a trace of single break-
covered with azure tints and shades.
Tip-toe, tip-toe rain drizzles
a merry rain: rain that brings loss to none
Oh rain! Oh breeze!
Do touch my soul
Do touch my heart
The weather there is cold and numb
Winter there is not yet gone
Make the weather inside warm

Weather is not what you see outside
It is what you feel inside
