When The Zipper Opens

when the zipper opens
a red bird comes out into the open
but would not leave him

it loves the nest of black weeds
attracting a tongue

a pair of lips, wet with raindrops
and honeydew

last night there was a reunion
of shadows
the moon by the window was
silent as snow

the following morning
his smile is as wide as the zipper
of her bag.

Zipper my tongue

notice me not; i am zipper by the fence of
my teeth and close by the lips, protected by two
holes beneath the two big eye balls rap with color
little hair, to feel it shiny tiny cloth of skin to tell

why keep in talking if the heart can't improve
good silent, and why the nose always breathing
when, the same air, feel in the air, would it's not
easy for the ears listen and talk to the wind after
the dawn of silent

sleep my dear heart; let us always open the mouth
and touch the teeth for every silent the tongue will
speak; for each return claps the hands where the pin
is on

what then the little heart tell, when the big blind
mouth says that; the waiting is over for everything is
ready to a harder fight, and win a better glorious
victory, its not the right aim yet, the best shoot it
gain

stop my apology; the same things happen again,
please switch a new beginning for my awesome
heart zipper my tongue forever......

A disrepair soul in the monorail

I never count my precious breathe as I know everything has its own limits,
This breakable dishearten skeleton doesn't stand like a breakwater which face the force of waves.
Is this hidden soul disperse when you stop breathing?

Kiss Of The Winter Moon

Darkness heals the wounds
that daylight laughter laid open.
Confess your secret dreams
before the audience of the moon.

To the silent night,
to the falling snow,
to the flickering star.

Embraced by shadows,
that feel what you feel,
that are what you are,
that dream what you dream.

The open winter window,
frames her featureless dark face,
betrayed by wisps of frosted breath,
and twinkling tears,
on frozen cheeks.

Soft...silent shadows,
caress her,
in a cloak,
of cold..
quiet..
snow.

a shiver,
a fallen tear,
becomes…
a snowflake.

Moonlight is forgiveness,
and kisses the face,
that is laughed at,
by the sun.

Under Cover of Night

To slip into your shadow under cover of night.
To follow your footsteps, your shadow at the window.
That shadow at the window is you and no one else;
it's you.
Do not open that window behind whose curtains you're moving.
Shut your eyes.
I'd like to shut them with my lips.
But the window opens and the breeze, the breeze
which strangely balances flame and flag surrounds my escape
with its cloak.
The window opens: it's not you.
I knew it all along.

To a Sleeping Child

Lips, lips, open!
Up comes a little bird that lives inside
Up comes a little bird, and peeps, and out he flies.

All the day he sits inside, and sometimes he sings,
Up he comes, and out he goes at night to spread his wings.

Little bird, little bird, whither will you go?
Round about the world, while nobody can know.

Little bird, little bird, whither do you flee?
Far away around the world, while nobody can see.

Little bird, little bird, how long will you roam?
All round the world and around again home;

Round the round world, and back through the air,
When the morning comes, the little bird is there.

Back comes the little bird and looks and in he flies,
Up wakes the little boy, and opens both his eyes.

Sleep, sleep, little boy, little bird’s away,
Little bird will come again, by the peep of day;

Sleep, little boy, the little bird must go
Round about the world, while nobody can know.
Sleep, sleep sound, little bird goes round,
Round and round he goes; sleep, sleep sound.

Lullaby of the iroquois

Little brown baby-bird, lapped in your nest,
Wrapped in your nest,
Strapped in your nest,
Your straight little cradle-board rocks you to rest;
Its hands are your nest;
Its bands are your nest;
It swings from the down-bending branch of the oak;
You watch the camp flame, and the curling grey smoke;
But, oh, for your pretty black eyes sleep is best,--
Little brown baby of mine, go to rest.

Little brown baby-bird swinging to sleep,
Winging to sleep,
Singing to sleep,
Your wonder-black eyes that so wide open keep,
Shielding their sleep,
Unyielding to sleep,
The heron is homing, the plover is still,
The night-owl calls from his haunt on the hill,
Afar the fox barks, afar the stars peep,--
Little brown baby of mine, go to sleep.

Lord from my tongue, my mouth

Lord from my tongue, my mouth
and lips let there be
gently words,

from my tongue let there be
formed inspiring
words like rose petals

let my mouth open
like a beautiful morning breaking
between two shadows of
hills

let my lips give a smile
as sweet as that of a
kitten

let this poem be as sweet
as a flying kiss
gently so gently
landing on hers

Little Black Heart

(magne furuholmen / paul waaktaar)
I never saw sunlight
Burn as bright
I never felt darkness
The way I feel it tonight
You say its getting better
You say its allright
But I never felt darkness
Like I feel it tonight
Little black heart
Raindrops on my window
I cant tell them apart
Like the few things forgiven
In my little black heart
You say its getting better
We just never got it right
But I never felt darkness
The way I feel it tonight
Little black heart
Some day we will shine
Like the moon in the morning
Like the sun when its dawning
Yes the sun when its dawning
The sun
Some day we will shine
Like the moon in the morning
Like the sun when its dawning
Yes the sun when its dawning
The sun
Raindrops on my window
I cant tell them apart
Like a few things forgotten
And a few things ignored
You say its getting better
You say its allright
But I never felt darkness
The way I feel it tonight
Little black heart
My little black heart

The Joyous Malingerer

Who is the happy husband? Why, indeed,
'Tis he who's useless in the time of need;
Who, asked to unclasp a bracelet or a neckless,
Contrives to be utterly futile, fumbling, feckless,
Or when a zipper nips his loved one's back
Cannot restore the zipper to its track.
Another time, not wishing to be flayed,
She will not use him as a lady's maid.

Stove-wise he's the perpetual backward learner
Who can't turn on or off the proper burner.
If faced with washing up he never gripes,
But simply drops more dishes than he wipes.
She finds his absence preferable to his aid,
And thus all mealtime chores doth he evade.

He can, attempting to replace a fuse,
Black out the coast from Boston to Newport News,
Or, hanging pictures, be the rookie wizard
Who fills the parlor with a plaster blizzard.
He'll not again be called to competition
With decorator or with electrician.

At last it dawns upon his patient spouse
He's better at his desk than round the house.

Raindrops

Joe melson
Raindrops, raindrops
I look out my window and what do I see
Raindrops, raindrops
They mark the pathway to my destiny
Raindrops, raindrops
Yes rain like the tears that fell from my heart
The day you said wed have to part
And now whats left for me to do
But watch those raindrops and cry over you
Instrumental
Youve stolen my love and my heart away
Raindrops, raindrops
And Ill feel the same for the rest of my days
Raindrops, raindrops
Well Ive tried yes Ive tried I want you to know
I did what you asked I loved you so
But I knew in my heart it wouldnt be long
Till Id look up and youd be gone

I Witness A Raven

When the moonlight fractures the patterned frost,
in fragments chiseled into the glass,
shattering and refracting its battery
of light, in silent solace through my window,
I witness a raven through eyes
thick and glazed with sleep.
The night hermit probes his feast

of carrion, picking at entrails, a solitary
meal devoured beneath the round moon’s
undaunted glare, refracting the criss-cross
claw marks on the crust.
The boughs and branches
are furred with frost, casting their shadows
upon dunes of snow. He lifts his hollow

wings, a rancid clump of meat in his beak,
and springs upon a limb, scattering
the snow that’s sprinkled there;
the moon wears a ring
of diffused blue, foretelling snow in the morning,
replenishing the chill in the wind.
The stars that cut the blue-black sky sing

like crystals, but are dulled to wet parchment.
The hesitant dawn is inching its hazy throat
toward the horizon, and the raven, a lone witness
to the dying night. The black pearls of his eyes
shine with a cold luster, untouched
by the palls of weather,
toughened by the glint of his harsh feather.

The Window

She looks out in the blue morning
and sees a whole wonderful world
she looks out in the morning
and sees a whole world

she leans out of the window
and this is what she sees
a wet rose singing to the sun
with a chorus of red bees

she leans out of the window
and laughs for the window is high
she is in it like a bird on a perch
and they scoop the blue sky

she and the window scooping
the morning as if it were air
scooping a green wave of leaves
above a stone stair

and an urn hung with leaden garlands
and girls holding hands in a ring
and raindrops on an iron railing
shining like a harp string

an old man draws with his ferrule
in wet sand a map of Spain
the marble soldier on his pedestal
draws a stiff diagram of pain

but the walls around her tremble
with the speed of the earth the floor
curves to the terrestrial center
and behind her the door

opens darkly down to the beginning
far down to the first simple cry
and the animal waking in water
and the opening of the eye

she looks out in the blue morning
and sees a whole wonderful world
she looks out in the morning
and sees a whole world.

Silences Int The Moonlight

once the shadow fills the sky
and the moon has risen up so high
a wolf wanders alone
escaping its lips is a lonely howel
racing across the frozen earth
searching for loves rebirth
paw prinks as far as they go
as it travels through ic and snow
alone and still this silent night
fill a moon light with a howl
begining at the dull
moonlight

Facing Myself

do not ask me who i am
whether i have understood this self so well
or yourself

we always reason out
about the mysteries that surround our beings

i will give no answer
silent as a zipper

i close the door of my mouth
and go inside my esophagus

this slimy self that wants to be out
but cannot

in the mirror however
like the sun with so much light

i face myself and
check

this is beautiful i tell myself
i repeat it many times

i close the window of my soul
not wanting that you hear

any of these dialogues
this narcissism of the self unto itself

in the pond of my eyes
the mirror that shows what reflection is there

of the soul to the body
the body that is warm and touched

An exotic robotic
Whizzes round in my thyroid honey
A psychotic robotic
I've got a pepper corn callous thyroid
A honey of a fruit
I've got a kipper born in my thyroid sweet
A funny old suit
I've got a zipper torn in the thyroid baby
A runny bald lute
I've got a schizo zipper in my thyroid sugar
A despotic honey coat

Little Girl in the Window

There's a little girl in a window looking sweetly at you
She know you and admires you
Yet you don't even know her name
She quietly sits by you in class and wtaches you in the halls
Never talking, just writing
She loves you, don't you know?
But you can't even see it,
You don't see her.
The girl is loosing hope in all she knew
For school is almost over and you'll be gone forever
She knows that she's not pretty enough,
That she's too quiet
Yet she still loves to watch you from her window,
Always having to look in, never wanted
Now it's 2049,30 years have passed
You casually talk to your friends again at your reunion
A girl you once knew tells about the girl in the window
She committed suicide...
As you finally see this little girl, read her things
You realize who she truly was
You finally see the little girl in the window.
Except she is still 14
And you 48
You see that was was pretty and amazing
Yet you neer knew
With the truth known,
You look once more at this girl
And offer her a silent prayer
Saying the final goodbye to the little girl in the window

I Got The Sun In The Morning

Taking stock of what I have and what I haven't
What do I find?
The things I got will keep me satisfied
Checking up on what I have and what I haven't
What do I find?
A healthy balance on the credit side
Got no diamond
Got no pearl
Still I think I'm a lucky girl
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
Got no mansion
Got no yacht
Still I'm happy with what I got
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
Sunshine
Gives me a lovely day
Moonlight
Gives me the Milky Way
Got no checkbooks
Got no banks
Still I'd like to express my thanks
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
And with the sun in the morning
And the moon in the evening
I'm all right
[2]
Got no mansion
Got no yacht
Still I'm happy with what I got
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
Got no silver
Got no gold
What I got can't be bought or sold
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
Sunshine
Gives me a lovely day
Moonlight
Gives me the Milky Way
Got no checkbooks
Got no banks
Still I'd like to express my thanks
I got the sun in the morning and the moon at night
And with the sun in the morning
And the moon in the evening
I'm all right
[3]
Sunshine
Gives me a lovely day
Moonlight
Gives me the Milky Way
Got no heirlooms
For my kin
Made no will but when I cash in
I leave the sun in the morning and the moon at night
And with the sun in the morning
And the moon in the evening they're all right

The empty nest

The wind is raw, a sleeting rain
Has covered everything in ice..
It coats an inch of killing snow.
Take it slow is good advice.

I clear my walkway of the slush
And pause to view my little tree
It is a dwarf non-fruiting Pear.
I had the City plant for me.

In its bare branches is a nest,
An impressive edifice of sticks
Abandoned now for sweeter climes
In Spring a nesting pair raised chicks.

I long to hear their call once more
They used to wake me at first light
But soon their chicks had taken flight
And all was silent as the night.

Do nesting pairs feel sadness when
Their little ones have fled the nest?
They never call, they cannot write.
I’m guessing that it’s hard, at best.

In spring will come another pair
to nest within my little tree.
Once more I’ll be awakened by
that timeless avian symphony.
