When The Lights Went Out
finally when the lights went out
i see you
dissolving in darkness like a very faint light
moving away from me
a firefly
and then simply a flicker
and then i forget
everything
and then i close my eyes
wipe a tear
and forced myself to sleep
because you are no longer by my side

Ode to a Firefly
Firefly
fly so high
just to know
you're alright
crashing down
to the ground
firefly
you're not alright
your charade
does portray
endless light
like you're alright
firefly
in the sky
no one sees
the other side
firefly
constant lies
you pretend
you're just fine
but deep inside
firefly
your heart cries
crimson tears
firefly
dim the light
let us in
we're on your side
but your pride
firefly
is the reason
that you died
ode to you
firefly
so much pain
in your life
no one saw
through your facade
until the end
goodbye my friend
firefly
lonely life
tried to hide
the pain inside
but in the end
you can't pretend
everything's alright
when it's not tonight
ode to you
firefly
no more pain
no more lies
firefly
firefly
light the sky
oh firefly

Who Will
Who will want to keep you when you get old
When your soul has been bought and sold
That, I would really would like to know.
Who will want you in your twilight
When you are full of vengeance and false pride
Or would anyone, want you at their side.
Who will want to walk with you done the street
When you have no one new for you to meet
Or will people shun you, that you do greet.
Who will want to be there to hold your hand
When you get old and alone and you cannot stand
And then of your past deeds, you will finally understand.
Who will be with you in this journey of life
When you come across darkness and event light
Will you be alone, and emptiness is in your sight.
Who will forget where you have been
When your heart is still full of evil and sin
Will you remember in life, there is only but one end.
Who for you will cry and weep for you a tear
When you are no longer here
Will they even care, for your sorrows to hear.
Who will even think about you when you are gone
When there life is still moving on
Do you wonder, if you will be remembered as just a pawn.
Who will always think and worry about you
When you live your life and the things you do
So I wonder for you, if there will ever be a who.

How Do You Sleep At Night
(jim mcbride/jerry salley)
I havent had a good nights sleep
In weeks now thanks to you
The ghost of broken promises you made
Haunts every room
A hurtin heart cant get no rest round here
I lie awake and wonder how
Your conscience could be clear
How do you sleep at night
Do you toss and turn till the morning light
Does the darkness help
When you lie down with the truth?
How do you sleep at night?
Are you all alone or do you hold someone tight
Do you see me
When you close your eyes?
How do you sleep at night?
Now your side of the beds as cold
As the lies that I believed
Im at the point when I cant even
Trust you in my dreams
Did the way you left me leave you feelin proud?
Or does the loneliness come callin
When the sun goes down?
How do you sleep at night
Do you toss and turn till the morning light
Does the darkness help
When you lie down with the truth
How do you sleep at night
Are you all alone or do you hold someone tight
Do you see me
When you close your eyes
How do you sleep at night

Firefly
You are my firefly,
Amid the others.
Your cool light beckons me.
Yes I have decided,
Amid the others,
You are my firefly.
Sometimes I see you clearly,
Sometimes I lose you in the darkness,
And search with my heart for light.
I must anticipate your luminescence,
Where your pulsing light will be
And where my hands must be
To gently hold you
And make your light my own
And make your glow touch my darkness.

Light The Heart
Time pushed me into dark
It closed all the doors
And locked me in cage
For days and months
With no rays of light
I lived in with a hope
In that cage for months
For a light of hand
To reach my darkness
And to pull into light
Days and months passed
In darkness and hope
No light of hand came
To pull me into light
Slowly my hope died
I stopped to look
For light of hand
And started to think
How to light darkness?
How to light darkness?
Finally the light came
In my cage of darkness
Its not light of hand
Its a light of lights
That showed me light
It divvy's any darkness
It unlocks any cage
It lights all the time
It always helps me out
Its a light of my heart

I Go To Sleep
When I look up from my pillow I dream you are there with me.
Though you are far away I know youll always be near to me.
I go to sleep, sleep, and imagine that youre there with me.
I go to sleep, sleep, and imagine that youre there with me.
I look around me and feel you are ever so close to me.
Each tear that flows from my eyes brings back memories of you to me.
I go to sleep, sleep, and imagine that youre there with me.
I go to sleep, sleep, and imagine that youre there with me.
I was wrong, I will cry, I will love you to the day I die.
You alone, you alone and no one else, you were meant for me.
When morning comes once more I have the loneliness you left me.
Each day drags by until finally night time descends on me.
I go to sleep, sleep, and imagine that youre there with me.
I go to sleep, sleep, and imagine that youre there with me.

A Leap Of Faith
at the very moment when he gave up God
he closes his eyes
he leaps from the top of the cliff
feeling the wind and the hands of the clouds
he stretches his arms
his hands groping for nothing
his feet no longer trembling
he feels the ground
he crushes with an impact
that he had never known
there is only darkness
and then a faint light and then he feels
the arms of God finally embracing him
he opens his eyes and there he sees God
the eyes of true compassion
love eternal

Cruel
Oh yeah
Born no longer a baby
Always trying to keep
In one place for long, oh long enough to sleep
Oh sleep and dreams are here the same
Gone'n got no rest
They'll no longer speak to you. moving on again
I'm moving on... moving on again
Well I'm moving...moving on again
Baby you're so cruel
You're cruel to yourself you never understand
Boy'll never do ya no harm
For you to build the frame of the bed you sleep upon
So spill your milk and honey
And get your kicks off your next man
Bigger than you think and you make him go, go on
Oh you make him...moving on again
Oh he's moving on...moving on again
Baby you're so cruel
Thought about the dream is so real now
These are dreams of mine you're so aimless...so aimless
You baby, you're so cruel
Wonder what you're gonna think of yourself
When the phone calls fade away
As you hold his shoulders, did you think it would come to this day
Ask yourself why he's off
When others surround you
He was one of many on the day that he found you
Oh you're moving...moving on again
Yeah you're moving...moving on again
Yeah you're moving...moving on again
Baby you're so cruel

Cry, sleep and forget
Cry till your heart becomes light.
Share till your heart becomes light.
Sleep till you forget everything.
Cry, sleep and forget.
Forget and forgive.
Play, leaving the sorrow back.
Laugh, frightening the tear away.
Share, embarrassing the mistake.
Sleep, forgetting the heavy heart.
Cry, sleep and forget...

How Many Lights Do You See?
How many lights do you see?
How many lights do you see?
There's one to say that night has come
And there's one that guards this jagged shore
And there's one to call the children home
And there's one to light the path they take
How many lights do you see?
How many lights do you see?
There's one to keep the shadows off
And there's one that tells me she got home
And there's one to read his novel by
And there's one that warms this dreary room
And there's one to watch the baby sleep
And there's one to count the blinking stars
And there's one that I just can't forget
And there's one that I remember too
How many lights do you see?
How many lights do you see?
There's one that waits for closing time
And there's one that gets left on all night
And there's one that marks the western sky
And it shines down on the quiet street
And there's one that floods the darker parts
And there's one that hurts my tired eyes
And there's one that says she's not asleep
And there's one that waits for her to wake
How many lights do you see?
How many lights do you see?
There is one that spills out on the beach
And it sparkles on the jetting rocks
And there is one that waits for tired ships
That sleep within this tired port

Good Bye To Yesterday
As you walk away
Stay close to your radio
Cos i called in and placed a song for you
Its my farewell song to yesterday
Goodbye is such a hard word to say
But i‘m glad i finally said it out loud
For long i‘ve always known you would go one day
But i guess the thought of saying goodbye was just too much to bear
And so i let you stay when i should have let you go
Maybe i thought if you stayed a little longer
You‘ll change your mind and stay forever
But now i know better, you were never meant to last more than a season
I know it will hurt to watch you leave
But now i think i can finally have my peace
Now i don‘t have to jump up from my sleep anymore
Scared that you left while i was deep in sleep
Now that i finally said goodbye, my heart is no longer heavy
It feels like a weight has been lifted off me
And i can finally take a breathe of relief
So just in case you thought it was going to be like before
When i‘ll come back running after you, begging to stay little longer
Then am very sorry to bust your bubbles
And if you think am not serious then stay close to your radio
Cos i called in and placed a farewell song for you
And the title is goodbye to yesterday

City Lights
Walking the lonely streets of the city during the nights
I look around me and see lights
Lights of skyscrapers touching the sky
And the lights of buildings that don’t stand very high
All around me I see light
That penetrates through the darkness of night
For a moment I forget about my constant companion
The one that makes me feel as if I’m in the bottom of a canyon
Loneliness
I forget for a moment that I am the only one that’s left
That to feed myself, I resort to theft
My family is gone, they left no trace
I close my eyes, and see my mothers face
They died last year, at the peak of the war
My father fought on the oceans shore
My mother and brother were both at home
When they dropped the great bomb, with its shiny chrome
I was at a shelter, far away from the city
But when I returned, there was no welcoming committee
The city was in ruins, my family dead
My heart was filled to the rim with dread
I was alone now, what a pity
Left to look at the lights of the city

Theres A Way Out
Have i come to the end in the
journey of life.
i no longer know wich way my path
seems to go on.
could it mean that this is the end of
my forgotten life.
All i see is darkness so i sit and wait
for the end to come.
But as i close my eyes and the only
one in my mind is God.
I hear a sweet voice in my hear
telling me that there is a way out.
So i open my eyes and notice its still
dark all around.
i close my eyes again and let the
sweet voice be my guide.
Ill be walking with my eyes close
until the sun light comes.
For with the light comes my second
chance in life.

Close Your Eyes
I am walking the streets at night,
bathing myself in the moonlight,
watching others go about their business,
so many people living in the darkness,
but this is not a dark and colourless land,
for you must try and understand,
that here your thoughts are divine,
as every moment is frozen in time.
Close your eyes, forget your name,
for in darkness we’re all the same.
Close your eyes, then lose yourself,
for you’re the same as anyone else.
Close your eyes, release your past,
for the future is the one and only task.
Close your eyes, follow your soul,
as it will make you complete and whole.
I am lying awake in my bed,
thinking about what people have said,
words spoken in times of madness,
and held in anger and bitterness,
looking out of my bedroom window,
in to the darkness and the shadow,
seeing the mysterious world outside,
where normal people do not hide.
Close your eyes, untangle your heart,
so your emotions can just fall apart.
Close your eyes, lay yourself bare,
find the beauty to make everyone stare.
Close your eyes, fight your fear,
for everyone is safe in here.
Close your eyes, dream your reality,
then you’ll know what you could be.

Farewell to my thought
Only in the dark
I could finally release my mask
Only in the night
I could lower my guard
Because in the light
My eyes betray me
And my heart caught in the sight
In my solitary window
There’s no use to hide tear
Or try to fake cracks
I close my eyes and wandering
To the untouched side of my feeling
My nightmare, my scar of living
Until the sun arise in the morning
I swallow again those fears
And say farewell to my hidden thought

My Side
Black emptiness is where I travel
Casting shadow where ever I go
Someone must play this part
There must be balance to make this world work
There needs to be darkness
May I bring despair, hate, and jealousy
into the lives of others
I despise myself
I despise the thought of being alone on the hated side
I am revolted even though I didn't choose this life
But as I said there needs to be a balance
And she is on the other side
There's always a ray of light in the darkness
She is that light I wish to have stabbed in me
She is my light, the guide of my love
I can feel her deep in my heart
But the darkness covers her in my eyes
Though she is always with me
Because as she casts light there must always be a shadow
I sit near a blackened pool on the opposite side of the world
and I look at the closest reflection I have of you
The moon shines on as I'm wishing you were here
I look into the pool and think of the time we have spent
Those brief few moments when light met dark
'This is a love to fight for'
That's what I said the last time we met
You shook your head and said
'In the end we'll both lose'
Time fades fast
I must convince her here and now
'Look at me' I said in her ear
She looks and her eyes twinkle
'If at anything my dream came true
I brush back her hair
'I got to meet a girl like you'
Gentle lips meet
Sometimes a kiss is all you need to do
That day was the last time I saw her
As time hit the right mark we were forced to pull away
Me into darkness
She into light
I grab her hand and try not to let go
But I was being pulled back
I yell so she could hear
'I'll come back to you I promise'
She nods
'I know you will'
And we break
I am swallowed in the darkness again
Alone and again on the other side of the world
I will wait again for the next day
When light and the dark can meet once more

Two parallel lines
The teaching has always been
That two parallel lines never meet
Which is not so with lights
Two paths of light
Tracing the same darkness
Bends finally in the distant space
And then they meet
And in a bang
Another star is born
Two people in darkness
Falling in love
Seeing light where there was none
The impossible happens
Two parallel outlooks
Finally meeting in a kiss
Bursting emotions
Like a comet’s tail

The Elevator
Doors open
Doors close
The relieving sound dings
The bell rings
Button pressed
Emotion expressed
Innocence left on the top
Common sense? We think we got a lot
Suddenly it starts
Scary at first
Then it becomes normal you don't even know
Evil everywhere
Keep on moving
Ding
Ring
Ding
It keeps ringing
Going down
Can't feel it anymore
Motion becomes one with soul
Soul becomes one with environment
You're different
Ding
Ring
It keeps ringing
Going down
Just keep moving
You won't feel it
Just keep moving, you won't feel a thing
Ding
Ring
It keeps ringing
Going down
Constant motion
Becomes a constant life
Ding
Ring
It keeps ringing
Going down
Stopping
Ding
Ring
You've gotten a rush
Nothing to say a sensation in your legs and then hush
How did you get here?
It didn't seem like you were moving until you stopped
Didn't seem like anything was wrong
Constant
Motion
Darkness
This isn't what you were made for
Blinding light
Who's that?
Nowhere to hide from the light
Can't find anymore darkness
My legs
I've moved so far
I can't go back
I didn't feel it
Blinding light
You'll be accepted
Come
I can't face my fears
I can't do this.... tears
Blinding light
...
The sensation is back
Ding
Ring
Moving again
Same rush
Maybe different
Ding
Ring
Moving again
Don't feel the motion anymore
Getting used to this
This is what I'm made for
Ding
Ring
Moving again
Just keep on going
Closer to the light
Blinding light
You are loved
Ding
Ring
Moving again
Too much is happening in life
Blinding light
Share the love
Share the light
Save them from the elevator
Ding
Ring
Moving again
Blinding light
I will give you strength
I will give you words
I will give you love
I will give you life
I will give you hope
Ding
Ring
It's time to go back down
Sensation in my legs
Rush
such a rush
But getting used to it
This time can feel the movement
This time I'm empowered
Ding
Ring
Going down
Can't get jaded to the movement
Gotta go all the way down without losing you
Blinding light
I'm with you
Even to the ends of the earth
Ding
Ring
Going down
Was it always this dark here?
How do these people not feel this motion
Was I chosen?
Can I do this?
Ding
Ring
Going down
Blinding light
I will give you all that you need, simply seek me
Now go forth and share what you know of the movement
Ding
Ring
Going down
They don't believe they're moving
But look I can see their destruction
Ding
Ring
Going down
You are the light down
Ding
Ring
This is where you've been sent
Ding
Ring
Doors open
Doors close
It's a new world because you've got new eyes
I'll tell them all that we're moving
Because it's the scary paradox
That within the motion itself
It is not felt but afterwards in a sudden rush
We all become conscious of how far we've fallen
That's the rush in your legs
That's
The blinding light

Shut Up
I tell you I didnt do it
cause I wasnt there
Dont blame me, it just isnt fair
You listen to their side
Now listen to mine
Cant think of a story
Sure youll find me sometime
Now pass the blame and dont blame me
Just close your eyes and count to three
(one two three)
Then Ill be gone and youll forget
The broken window, t.v. set
It wasnt me either, Im just his mate
He told me to stand here and watch the gate
Ive got a wife and three kids you know
Theyll tell you Im straight, at least I think so
Im as honest as the day is long,
The longer the daylight, the less I do wrong
Now pass the blame and dont blame me
Just close your eyes and count to three
(one two three)
Then Ill be gone and youll forget
The broken window, t.v. set
Pass the blame and dont blame me
Just close your eyes and count to three
(one two three)
Then Ill be gone and Ill forget
That what you give is what you get...
Pass the blame and dont blame me
Just close your eyes and count to three
(one two three)
Then Ill be gone and youll forget
