The Wreck of She
The Wreck of She, could be a ship,
that has been cast upon the shore,
but alas she is not, she's part of the street
a fancy English whore
The Wreck of She, has moved around
from war time trenches.
to Hyde Park benches,
down quite back alleys,
and seaside chalets.
Yet she was always there
when Tom came to call
then off they would go,
and have a ball.
The Wreck of She, was just like a night owl.
Out at dusk, and home at dawn,
with grass on her back,
from the golf course lawn.
The Wreck of She, was past her sell by date,
when she was found
crawling in the gate,
she was dazed and battered
but to her it never mattered,
she had been there before

Pisces Moon
Mastery of illusion and mystery of Neptune,
I become a mermaid by the light of the moon.
Yes, Goddess of the Sea,
I create a beautiful world when I dream.
I dream of swimming with my colorful scales,
through the green oceans I swish my tail.
Swimming with the dolphins, the sharks and whales too,
I swim following the light of the moon.
My emotions stir when I see a merman,
He is stranded on the sand.
I help by throwing him some seaweed,
I know this will save him yes, indeed.

The Almighty Pen
the pen is mightier than the sword
and stronger than the mightiest men.
with the pen petitions can be signed
it can be accepted, or it can be declined.
the people on death row with no where to go.
they know that the pen can set them free
or put them to death instantly.
you can write your name
or get the autograph of someone of fame.
there are so many things that the pen can do
it all depends on you.
the declaration was written with a pen
the signatures of all those famous men.
for centuries the pen has been used and abused.
it's been used for good and for bad
for happy times, and for sad.
it's been used for letters of love
hate, bitterness, and faith.
the pen and all its glory
always telling the perfect story.
for such a little thing that fits in your hand
it is known through out all lands.

Wreck On The Highway
Last night I was out driving
Coming home at the end of the working day
I was riding alone through the drizzling rain
On a deserted stretch of a county two-lane
When I cam upon a wreck on the highway
There was blood and glass all over
And there was nobody there but me
As the rain tumbled down hard and cold
I seen a young man lying by the side of the road
He cried mister, wont you help me please
An ambulance finally came and took him to riverside
I watched as they drove him away
And I thought of a girlfriend or a young wife
And a state trooper knocking in the middle of the night
To say your baby died in a wreck on the highway
Sometimes I sit up in the darkness
And I watch my baby as she sleeps
Then I climb in bed and I hold her tight
I just lay there awake in the middle of the night

I Am (Mermaid)
I am a magical mermaid swimming in the tropical sea.
I wonder what new adventures each day will bring.
I hear happy dolphins chattering while they leap into the air.
I see the golden sunset sparkling on the water's rippling surface.
I want to live in this paradise forever.

When the spoken words
Cease to tenderly caress her ears
And without any fears,
A poet's hand grabs a magic pen
To write lovely stanzas,
