This Poem This Afternoon

this poem
has nothing much to give you

some words
discarded that i
keep again
on this monitor

perhaps garbage
or dust or pieces of
scratch papers,

but somehow
i go on writing,
without any purpose
at all

in mind, just
to let the hours pass
by
the minutes wasted
for having to wait
on something else,
the next scene
another event
of my life
a meeting in
another room
a riding of
a vehicle to the city
and then
wait again for the
students in the
university

i talk much
and write too
little

for hours and hours
until it gets so dark
at the late hour
of the night

and then i go home
drive my car
no talking now
just paying attention
to the road
meeting my face

and the faint sound
of the aircon
of the car until i
arrive on the side
of the house

the gate opens
i turn on the light
and go inside the room
to sleep
on this chilly evening.

Reminiscing

Friday night it was late
I was walking you home
We got down to the gate
And I was dreaming of the night
Would it turn out right
How to tell you girl
I want to build my world around you
Tell you that it's true
I wanna make you understand
I'm talking about a life time plan
That's the way it began
We were hand in hand
Glen Miller's Band was better than before
We yelled and screamed for more
And the porter too
Made us dance across the room
It ended it all too soon
And on the way back home
I promise you, you'll never be alone
Hurry don't be late
I can hardly wait
I said to myself when we're old
We'll go dancing in the dark
Walking through the park and reminiscing
Friday night it was late
I was walking you home
We got down to the gate
And I was dreaming of the night
Would it turn out right
Now as the years roll on
Each time we hear our favorite song
The memories come along
Older times we're missing
Spending the hours reminiscing
Hurry don't be late
I can hardly wait
I said to myself when we're old
We'll go dancing in the dark
Walking through the park and reminiscing
We'll go dancing in the dark
Walking through the park and reminiscing
You should be dancing
Dancing
Dancing
Dancing
And reminiscing

What Happened When The Lights Went Out

early that evening
there was a total blackout in the city
for an unknown
cause again, and

this happens not just for that
lonely time
only but for the nth time
when the hours are lonelier
than usual, and

to make use of those dark hours
since we see nothing
more important to do than read,
we spend the hours, and hours
talking,

it is you who is doing most
of the talking, choosing the words,
and arranging them
to perhaps please me, but i was
not there anymore,
i was then, and am mostly,
a wanderer amidst the forest of your
sentences,

and i feel like your are sentencing
me into a listener imprisoned
in those bars of
senseless words, and i

as i once told you, always escape
as a swift bird,
and you as usual do not notice it
when i am already
far away into my own
kind of personal homeland
where you cannot find me
or catch me

naked and innocent like a native,
and i do not hear about you anymore
and when i come back
and take the shape of a man

you are already fast asleep and then
i step silently inside the room
via an open window
slip on the bed wet with your tears
and then i gently sleep beside you

and i cannot sleep that night
as i judge myself guilty of an injustice
which i have inflicted against
love and trust

a la Cupid to
Psyche,

and then i, before my own
sleepy eyes,
blow that stupid candle
away

and then it is so dark
deep into the night i journey
burdened
like one of the Furies
into the
cliffs of Sisyphus.

Airplane

Over the city in an airplane
I can see everything below
The houses they look so tiny
The cars look like dots
Weve only got fifteen minutes to go
The clouds in the sky caress my mind so tenderly
The sun shines down on the great big beautiful scene
The sound of the engine fills my ears up
Im hopin this rainy weather clears up
My lover is waiting at the airport
Soon shell be kissing me hello
The woman sitting next to me tells me bout her guy
And I tell her all about you and i
Airplane, airplane
Carry me back to her side
Airplane, airplane
I need God as my guide
Down, down on the ground
Cant wait to see her face
(a-1, a-2, a-1, 2, 3)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)

Four hours of makeup, and then an hour to take it off. It's tiring. I go in, I get picked up at two-thirty in the morning, I get there at three. I wait four hours, go through it, ready to work at seven, work all day long for twelve hours, and get it taken off for an hours, go home and go to sleep, and do the same thing again.

Is All About You

1 hour unity,
2 hours peace,
3 hours playing,
4 hours sleeping,
5 hours smiling,
6 hours living,
7 hours trusting in your muse!
For this river is mine and yours foeevers;
And, i want to be close to you always.

1 hour smiling,
2 hours learning,
3 hours thinking,
4 hours with your muse,
5 hours teaching,
6 hours working,
But, the 7th hour comes for me to sleep with you;
Because, this love is all about you! !
And, i want to be with you always.

Cant It Wait Until Tomorrow

(nickolas ashford/valerie simpson)
I know youre standing there
Trying to say the words
You took so long to prepare
But I laugh, pretending I dont see
Cause I dont wanna hear
What you got to say to me
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours
I ve seen it coming for quite sometime now
Dont you know Ive tried to stop it
In every way I know how
And I know its hard for you
As it is for me
So listen to my heart
Begging desperately
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Oh wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours
Baby please give me 24 more hours
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours
Cant it wait until tomorrow
Before you bring me the showers
Oh wait until tomorrow
Give me 24 more hours

Waiting For Waiting's Sake

Waiting is more of a feeling than a state or being
When you wait it's not really time spent that weighs on you
IT's really the purpose or reason and the place you wait too
Waiting never is waiting even when it's 5 or 10 or 20 hours or more
It becomes waiting when you feel impatient
When you feel you can no longer wait
That is truly when you being to wait
And wait for waiting's sake
It always seems like more minutes more time
More time is what makes it weigh more, but it's a change
In emotion basically an enigma
It is not even what you do as you wait
If anything at all, it strangely is just the
Feeling. Consider when you simply stare at the
Clouds for hours, you wait and wait
Watch the clouds' gait
But not even a minute passes not in your mind
Not any second is wasted of left behind
But waiting 2 simple minutes is waiting
When you let emotions take hold
Even asked to wait another second is brazen and bold
So you see it is only that emotion
Only that feeling, desire for resolution and restitution
It's funny how we are not controlled by
States or circumstances
Mere happenstance
But rather we are controlled by character, emotion, our feeling
No state of the world can change them
It is only when
We allow our perceptions to change, it is only then
Circumstance even affects us, it only happens when we let it
And so I say when we wait and don't feel waiting
It is not waiting at all, no matter how much time
I realize I feel nothing, no sense of waiting not when I rhyme
I lose perception of time and so I have unlimited time
To write and write and write each and every single
Time I wait and even I wait for waiting's sake

Meeting you was due to fate
Being with you was due to our first date
Which then lead you to be my mate
What we have is more than great
Us together gets the highest rate
At times we have our differences like you being late
But all that doesnt matter because your my soul mate
We talk on the phone for hours and sleep in late
When we are together I want to be intimate
I'm glad we are together and we did not wait
Because with out you in my life I couldn't create

A Journey Of Confusion (Fun Poem 90)

It stared like any journey
with expectations running high,
a two hours journey
from one point to another.
Nothing complicated in that.
Just over an hour in
and the journey goes to pot,
you drive passed the turning
that you were suppose to take.
You turn around midst honking horns
and go back again.
You think you are on the right road,
and then you find you are not.
Being a man, you are too proud
to ask the directions to where you are going.
You drive around in circles
and the hours tick on by.
Four hours later, you are confused and totally lost.
You pull to the side of the road
and all you want to do is cry,
then you get a brainwave,
find a taxi and follow him.
You look for a taxi
and there is not one to be found,
never one when you need one
and dozens when you do not.
Finally, you get a taxi
and begin to follow him,
finally getting to your destination.
Five hours it has taken
and not the estimated two.
You are also slightly lighter
after paying the taxi fare.
The only thing you can rejoice from
is that you are there,
a few grey hairs more
and a lot wiser throughout.
What about the journey back?
You do not want to even think about that.

Reflecting Upon A Series Of Experiences For This Day.....

The experience has always been
a

shaping and reshaping seemingly without end
like a journey to a horizon that has no limit to the exhaustion of the eyes.

It will always be an invention, and reinvention,
like having to hope for hope because
there is nothing good
happening to

life, it is like looking at a room, sitting on a sofa,
staring at the ceiling, looking beyond the glass window by your side,

and always asking, why is this room always unfinished,
this house always a question of

why? and for all we know, we fail to look at our own feet,
to reflect our eyes on the mirror and

assure ourselves that the hours actually also know how to wait
for answers,

actually, when i look at myself, i look at a stranger,
but i know the name of course, but there is more beyond to this name,

there is something speaking but never really known
something inside us, that is with us, but detached, talking with all honesty, saying

'You are wrong! There is something that you need to correct! '

Tell her, do not be afraid, Go! Go!

This is divided self, inside it, in this chest, there are small cabinets,

more doors, more windows, and endless tunnel without light.

Talk To Me

Talk to me in the dark of night
when there's silence, only your voice.
Speak to me of your daytime thoughts
so I may hear you and rejoice.

This is my time with you alone.
Your words can still my heart.
All through the busy hours of day
my body plays its part.

But, nothing I do can ever compete
with the sounds you give to me.
All that I do is never complete
'Til I'm lying next to you.

So talk to me in the dark of night
and lull me off to sleep.
Let all my dreams be of your words,
the words that I shall keep

'til the morning breaks my reverie
and brings me another day.
I will move forward through the hours
awaiting the words you will say.

In My Room

I stand alone and watch the clock
I only wait for it to stop
And in the room locked up inside me
The cutout magazines remind me
I sit and wait alone in my room
And in my room against the wall
There is picture very small
A photograph I took some years ago
It shows a picture of the room I know
I sit and wait alone in my room
Chorus
The walls are white and in the night
The room is lit by electric light
I stand and watch the clock
I only wait for it to stop
The doors are shut and all the windows lock
The only sound is from the clock
I sit and wait alone in my room
Repeat chorus

Straight Back

Words and Music by Stevie Nicks
what can i say this time
which card shall i play
the dream is not over
the dream is just away
and you will fly like some little wing
straight back to the sun
the dream was never over
the dream has just begun
the dream has just begun.........dream....
my fingers find the ivory keys
ans a song begins to begin
like a wolf...on the run
and you will find
while in the wind
something that you lost
the dream was never over...no...
the dream was only lost
(hours and hours of waiting for you, so strong and so fleeting)
the dream has just begun
(and hours of waiting for you...in hopes of meeting)
the dream has just begun
(meeting this way)
well, the dream has just begun!
she remembers how good it can be...
he remembers a melody....
ah...in the shadow of my shadow....in a gleam...
he remembers how good it can be....
she remembersa melody.....
well...in the shadow of my shadow....in a dream...whoa....
(hours and hours of waiting for you...so strong and so fleeting)
the dream has just begun
(hours and hours of waiting this way...meeting me...)
and hours of waiting for you
(so strong and so fleeting)
the dream has just begun
(i'm tired of meeting this way)
straight back now
(hours and hours of waiting...so strong and so fleeting)
hours and hours of waiting this way
hours and hours of waiting this way
straight back
straight back
straight back......yeah!!
he remembers a melody...
he remembers how good it can be...
straight back
straight back
straight back......yeah!!

Let's talk Football

Some people like to talk about the weather
or what they watched the night before on T.V.
many go on and on about their holidays
while others chat about Cars or even Astrology.
But I like to talk about Football
as I've got lots of stories to share
like all the great players I've seen
and games when you just had to be there.
My late Father used to be just the same
as a child I'd take in every word he'd say
I'd sit and listen to him for hours and hours
then grab my ball and go out to play.
I often talk about Football in the pub
and even to strangers standing in a queue
'We won the F.A. Cup once you know,
beating Spurs by three goals to two.'
Once a Jehovah Witness knocked on my door
so I invited him in for a cup of tea
within an hour I converted him into a Football fan
he's now a massive supporter of Coventry City F.C.
My doctor reckoned I needed urgent help
and I saw a specialist that very day
but after talking to a Psychiatrist about Football
he now follows my team at home and away.
They say that talk is cheap
and that may very well be true
but I love talking about the Beautiful Game
because that's what I like to do!

Wait

You've been hurt-you've been lied to
You ran all your life just to get out of your shoes
But you settled in too soon
Now your road is clearly dark
No room for any light to break through
You're on a mission to get even with the world
To give back all the pain you received, it's just too hard to believe
That anything could make it better
-PLEASE DON'T LET IT END THIS WAY
YOU COULD WAIT ANOTHER DAY
IT'S FOOLISH GAMES THAT PLAYERS PLAY
ONCE CHOICE CAN BRING YOU SO MUCH ACHE
PLEASE DON'T END UPTHIS WAY
THERE'S GOT TO BE SOME OTHER WAY
YOU COULD LIVE WITHOUT THIS MISTAKE
SO PLEASE WAIT-
You've been betrayed-left so confused
Couldn't understand how trust could be so abused
So you let the darkness come over you
Now you don't know anyone to turn to
You're beat up and bitter, face down in the cold
Lying on the ground with footprints on your back
Where ya gonna go? You've never been so low
[refrain]
(If you would only wait)
(Please wait, wait, wait)
[refrain]
So please, so please wait, wait

The Poet Is Looking For Love Deep İn The Night

sometimes you may find
sincerity to a poem as to
the date when it is written,

the hour particularly tells you
that a poem is written when
everyone in the house is
fast asleep, and

that someone
cannot sleep, because he
has to write some words for
someone, who

too, cannot
sleep,

not really because they
are insomniacs, much less
vampires looking for blood,
but perhaps someone

who is
looking for love, even in the
dark, even in the wee hours
even when love

is no longer
there, even when the night
is dead, even when there is
no one alive in this world
to tell him that he is alive
and must by all means and
at all cost, deserve to

be happy.

On A Storny Day While You Are Driving Alone

you drive towards home
alone
under a strong rain
and wind
the storm has come again
inside the car
you hear nothing
you only see
the mess outside
you

you do not turn on
the radio
there is nothing there
only the buzzing
the FM stations lost
in the midst of this
chaos
you hear the silence inside you
talking
it is tired of the day's
heavy workload

you hear the sound
of the windswiper
you see the water
ahead of you along the
way
as the car cleans itself
so you may see the road
ahead
meeting you
the white bridge,
the thick lines of rain
like walls

like some liquid ropes
bursting on the glass
there are no cars
meeting you
no lights
except the darkness
and
the leaves blown away
from you
you think and you know the
difference:
you are losing your sense
of home

the sense of direction
insists
still towards this road
you do not like it
anymore,
you still think in the middle
of this storn
you want to stop and
watch the river
overflow
you wish the bridge is broken
you want it taken away
dismantled
you imagine there is
no more connection
whatever

you see nothing at the end,
what you see is simply
the storm
you stop again on the side of the road
where the tree shall fall and
you are under it,
you do not think of the car,
or of yourself anymore
what is there anyway?
there is no one waiting,
there is nothing worth meeting
and surely
life is not worth living

Daily

you wake up early
you wash your face
you use soap and water
you wipe your face with
a white towel near the sink
hanging
you dress up
you take breakfast
you chew your food
you drink your coffee
you read the papers
hear the news on tv
you go to the garage
warm up your car
you open the garage
and speed your way to your office
you read the whole day
you talk less
you take your lunch
and you cat's nap
you work the whole afternoon
you read a lot
you write
you are tired and ask your driver
to drive you home
you open the door of your house
you sleep with your shoes on
you sleep for some hours
you are hungry
you go to the kitchen and eat
the food made ready for you
by your housemaid

you are alone in this sequence
you turn on the tv
and the whole night you feel
you are the lookout
for something that is about to happen

you ask yourself, what is this all about?
you tell yourself, you do not know, it is just your daily routine
for years and years, and it goes on and on and you have no
way of stopping

they call it life
