Third Week Of December
the winds are cold
the sun is shying away
from the skies
the paths are wet
and muddy
the houses are
crowded
the rains are not
stopping
the leaves are singing
these longing songs of the
heart
on windows open

Let It Rain, Let It Rain, Let It Rain!
Siberia breathes its cold air
southward to the Pacific
down into our archipelago, and
so the nights are longer and the days are getting shorter
and it rains and rains and rains
seemingly without stopping and i am caught
shivering under the nipa roof inside the wooden house
facing a mountain through a window
a world drenched in water
wet season everywhere
mud and flooding rivers
buffaloes relaxing and white herons resting on their backs
between the drizzle
i sit and watch the beauty of the tropical countryside
the trees and hills and huts and houses
and horses and cows...
no snow, and not that harshly cold, this Eden
of the orient seas!

Winds Of Change
i throw my sigh
and then it came back as
part of the
the winds of change
with some brown leaves
and wings of birds
and butterflies
the winds of change
has come
with the rays of the sun
with the songs of the day
with the hair of my woman
the winds of change
has come
with the yellow sunflower
with the humming bees
and soft rains
and rainbow
the winds of change has
finally come
take me to the magic
of this moment
my winds of change

Fall Recalled
Warm air has driven out the cold
The sun blazes in skies azure
When leaves are green instead of gold
And rains would pour with less ardor
Ah, that is Spring indeed, but Fall
I have in mind to write about
When colder winds begin to call
And Winter's coming they would shout
That was on a bleak November
While skies were low and night was nigh
As we kissed, as I remember
That she whispered, sadly, 'Goodbye'

Be Windows To Be Shut
Don't open the windows!
Cold air will rush in.
Don't open the windows!
Hot air will blow in.
Don't open the windows!
Mosquitoes are there.
Don't open my history!
Treacheries will snare.
Don't open my memory!
Debaucheries will slip out.
Don't open my very eyes.
I should not be a witness.
Let the windows be shut;
With that the past buried.
Switch on the air-conditioner.
Spray on the bed perfume.
I must enjoy my night
With the world outside shut.

Petty Break-Up
A little bickering goes a long…
Long way…
When either know not what to say…
And damn, that’s not okay…
Petty quarrels‘…
Are really immoral…
Why is there such a thing…
Stopping the heart from a sing…
Songs are good for the soul…
Pettiness is cold…
A benign embrace would do…
That will help see it through…
Not me…Not you…But us…
The two…
Inner feelings must play…
Apart as to sooth the heart…
If not…
One day you shall part…
Bringing…rains from clouds of joy…
A relationship is not a toy…
So please do not be coy…
Attract attention…
Another way…
Remembering that first day…
The flattering…
Bells ringing…
You both…
Are singing…
Stop…look, and listen…
Where is that glisten…
Just a blatant blather…
Would you not rather…
Put pep back into your steps…
Be responsible…
You males and females…
No boss…
No loss…
Share in the cost… to be…
Forever and ever wise…
And free, …
LOOK…
And…
SEE…

Crowded
Crowded
Spirits walking on the roofs
no fear to fall or slide
no spirit of the dead
that did ever die
it's really crowded in the sky
and crowded in the streets
spouses and sprouts in all houses
crowded in my head am I
crowded in the underground
crowded in my ears
look what i have found;
my face crowded in tears.

Wind
There are winds out there, they cause the windows and doors to move.
They have their own language.
This is not as easy as stealing from the blind.
As I walk through forests the trees seem to move behind me.
The splittered woood has not been made into books.
The muddy path pulses, a second birth.
This is not real, these are things inside of me,
ice on branches, sleet on frozen ground, words as rain.
They circle around me like cold, brown leaves.

I Am Not Afraid Of Emptiness
i may not have told you, but now i will tell it to you
three times,
girl, i am not afraid of emptiness
the one that walks upon you when you were once this huge
space like a Gothic church with doors like mountains and windows
like continents
the sound of emptiness reverberates like a tin cup
that falls on the iron rails of this room
it fills every nerve that coils upon itself and forms a hand gripping
for waterfalls
it closes the ears and rips every rational entries that your eyes
write in the pages of your journal
it encloses you like a mental jacket of that new patient
at ward 6,
it walls you in like you are a chair inside the congested kitchen
look, who likes the congestion of the spirits?
who likes the choking of the nicks of time?
who likes a light imprisoned in its own flames
burning itself upon itself like a candle consuming both of its ends?
who like the mezzanine filled with letters that you keep
containing love stories of suicide and escape?
look upon your face too crowded with your senses?
it is a forest with trees killing each other for an ounce of light
roots upon roots and leaves upon leaves this world is too crowded
with unraveling thoughts
i am not afraid of emptiness
i like my windows opening all the days of my life
i like doors without locks
stairs without rails, houses without walls and roofs
i live in open space and yes right here inside my heart
i thrive in its empty spaces without the nerves and the veins

Love & Maple Syrup
Love and maple syrup goes together
Like the sticky winds of winter when they meet
When lonely lovers come to rest
Beneath the trees they do their best
But still they cant be free
Looking for the world to be
Anything but what they see
Longing to be understood
By the heart that shapes the wood
If you go into the forest, gaze up through the leaves
And see the sky thats almost wild
You must learn to understand
What makes the forest greet the man
Like a mothers only child
In the north when when winters claw
Relaxes now to keep the laws of nature in control
People come and stand in line
To rob the forest of her wine
But they dont feel the cold
Looking for the world to be
Anything but what they see
Longing to be understood
By the heart that shapes the wood
Love and maple syrup goes together
Like the sticky winds of winter when they meet
When lonely lovers come to rest
Beneath the trees they do their best
But still they cant be free
Love and maple syrup shine like
Embers warm, like thoughts divine
They tell us it is spring
Love and maple syrup stir
The thoughts of people into words
Of songs that they can sing
Looking for the world to be
Anything but what they see
Longing to be understood
By the heart that shapes the wood

The Philosophy Of This Journey.....
one leaves............takes a journey..............far...........farther away........
alone,
not stopping, longing, looking for more, but not really definite on what to look for,
it searches, passes by every town, takes the road, sees a row of trees,
a line of coasts,
it rains, there is flood in the river, you do not stop.........leaves again,
it shines in one place
sun is good,
clouds are as beautiful as one notices from time to time
by the window
of the bus, of the plane.......
one leaves, takes another journey, one knows what he is searching,
a glimpse, but not really definite still
along this journey
life becomes what it really is,
it is a passing wind that blows your hair
but none is taken away from you
not even a lock of hair, not even the scent in your skin.

What looks in (windows and rain)
Rain upon windows…
Dark bedroom walls
Shimmering pastel mists
down shadowed halls
Windows of ebon black…
and cold Crystal light
Transparently solid through
Both dark and night
Seemingly liquid… in rivulets
Of slithers of rains
Silver sheet of mercury
Over fevered panes
Half seen reflections
enshroud the palpable dark
And imagined…(or real) things
Seem to quiver, dance and spark
Leaves strike... then flee
Tossed by cold fingers of wind
Tree branches rap upon the glass
as if wanting to come in
Pull covers o’er your head
Scrinch closed your eyes e’er so tight
Tis only windows they are…
So no real reason for fright
But… for what looks back in…
Through your windows tonight

Looking, Watching, Waiting
It's Winter now,
And everything is cold and bare.
Used to be lush and green,
Covered in leaves.
The snow is melting.
It's getting warmer.
Spring is on it's way.
Now Spring has come
The snow has all melted,
And the trees are getting more leaves.
It's warm now,
And i can't wait for Summer to arrive.
Summer is finally here!
I go outside and run barefoot through the streets.
Windows are open and the birds are singing.
Summer is finally here!
Now Summer is gone, and Fall is in the air.
Soon it will get colder,
And i will once again be looking, watching, waiting,
For Summer's arrival.

Let’s create windows In our minds
Houses and buildings
Have Windows
Buses and trains
Too have windows
When open
Light and fresh air
Comes in through them
Allows foul air to go out
When closed
Prevents Dust and filth
From coming in
Let’s create windows
In our minds
Allow good thoughts
To come in and enlighten
The mind
Let the bad thoughts go out
Close the window of the mind
When bad thoughts
Try to intrude in
Listen to what people say
With an open mind

Just Listen To My Song (from 'Meet the Moments')
When my heart is lonely and blue
And just wondering about you
When the world outside is all cold
And my dreams to nowhere are true
And to the dark they surely unfold
Just listen to my song of loneliness
Just listen to the song I'm singing
I'll be touching out for each caress
That my feelings and paths are bringing
Every world has its own to care for
Love is something to adjust and to be
We can never be of us assure
Because freedom is to learn and to see
It's all about free will to you and me
Just listen to my song to the open air
Just listen to the singing from my heart
I will try to reach out and be there
To make each open opportunities start
Just listen to my song of loneliness
Just listen to the song I'm singing
I'll be touching out for each caress
Which those believes and ways are bringing
Whenever you touch and bring out of trouble
Anything you stand for on your own
It shall raise each fortress from rubble
Make each struggle for freedom be known

I Hear America Singing
I Hear America singing, the varied carols I hear;
Those of mechanics--each one singing his, as it should be, blithe and strong;
The carpenter singing his, as he measures his plank or beam,
The mason singing his, as he makes ready for work, or leaves off work;
The boatman singing what belongs to him in his boat--the deckhand singing on the steamboat deck;
The shoemaker singing as he sits on his bench--the hatter singing as he stands;
The wood-cutter's song--the ploughboy's, on his way in the morning, or at the noon intermission, or at sundown;
The delicious singing of the mother--or of the young wife at work--or of the girl sewing or washing--Each singing what belongs to her, and to none else;
The day what belongs to the day--At night, the party of young fellows, robust, friendly,
Singing, with open mouths, their strong melodious songs.

Oath Of A Friend
I'll stand unmoved like the mountains
face all weathers and seasons
time will pass where I remain
the stars will look down on me
as eternal heavens watching
the skies above will stretch endless
horizons will be a backdrop
and here, here I shall stand resolute
take shelter in my arms
find comfort within my heart
discover peace in my soul
trust in my oath I shall not be moved
the winds may howl and bite
the rains may well be cold
but like the mountains, the stars
the skies above and time itself
I will remain here with you

In A Cold Wind
In a cold wind
in a night wind,
under a yellow street-light,
its paleness and the dark night.
Leaves blown past,
down the wind, cast
onto the silent roadway,
or in heaps, on the footway.
The houses that rise
into grey skies,
windows with drawn curtains,
facing onto pale gardens.
Slow in the sky,
the clouds moving by;
on the ground, the shadows blurred,
the whistling wind heard.
And the wind that blows
comes not, nor goes.
In this night, its sound
wraps all around.
Not here alone,
its long low drone,
along endless fences and hedges,
insidiously edges.
Now is the hour,
now is the closing of the flower,
an end to approaching and retreating,
to losing and defeating,
in a cold wind,
in a night wind,
on a corner of a cold street,
where all directions meet.

Rain
When it rains
Roads, trees, houses, birds
Fences, lawns, porches, terraces
Flowerpots, climbers, flowers, windows
Words, books, poems, conversation
Dreams and faces
Sun and shades
All get wet
Memories are inundated
Life spans turn into ephemeral moments
Dry eyes are filled with water
(and are washed clean)
When it stops
Winds start blowing.

Rain
Rain when it comes, it only rains
scorching heat, biting dust
parched earth sniffing life
birds chirping as they must
peeled brooks smile again
rain when it comes, it only rains.
Dying flowers breathe and blush
shying lotus blossom in slush
peacocks dance, frogs croak
dried forest getting soaked
faded leaves, unfold again
rain when it comes, it only rains.
Buds blossom into flowers
newly weds dying for showers
cupid strikes and presence is felt
hearts of human and animals getting melt
oblivious of surrounding only two remain
rain when it comes, it only rains.
Farmers laugh running to fields
praying God for bumper yield
dusty winds dare not blow
venturing children paying no heed
mercury mulls not rising again
rain when it comes, it only rains.
Rivers sing a merry song
springs wish to go along
streams dance to nature's tune
rising lakes see nothing wrong
brownish land looks green again
rain when it comes, it only rains.
Overcast sky sieveing light
far in the west rainbow bright
puddles of pool in the street
roof top cries, oh kite, oh kite
water authorities needn't rake the brains
rain when comes, it only rains.
Elixir for life, rain must go away
but must come in time, we always pray
without rains none will be sane
life in planet will not remain
rain when it comes, it only rains.
