The Tenth
the tenth is always my ending
the tenth of a day
and the tenth of what i am
the rest shall not be yours
for the universe owns it
the rest scatters itself
a no man's land
a place for all air and dusts
a place for all the shining stars
there is light, and space and
eternity
like the longings of the heart
like the droplets
of memories
the tenth as gift
and nothing more.

Tenth Avenue Freeze-out
Tear drops on the city
Bad scooter searching for his groove
Seem like the whole world walking pretty
And you cant find the room to move
Well everybody better move over, thats all
Im running on the bad side
And I got my back to the wall
Tenth avenue freeze-out, tenth avenue freeze-out
Im stranded in the jungle
Taking all the heat they was giving
The night is dark but the sidewalks bright
And lined with the light of the living
From a tenement window a transistor blasts
Turn around the corner things got real quiet real fast
She hit me with a tenth avenue freeze-out
Tenth avenue freeze-out
And Im all alone, Im all alone
And kid you better get the picture
And Im on my own, Im on my own
And I cant go home
When the change was made uptown
And the big man joined the band
From the coastline to the city
All the little pretties raise their hands
Im gonna sit back right easy and laugh
When scooter and the big man bust this city in half
With a tenth avenue freeze-out, tenth avenue freeze-out
Tenth avenue freeze-out...

10 - 80 - 10
A tenth bright a tenth dark.
The gray eighty depends on your spark
Light it so that nothing hinders;
Ignite it and there are only cinders.
Enjoy that bright tenth for such a short time,
Converting the 80 to something sublime.
This brilliance will brighten that 10 dark spot,
Which is a part of what every life’s got.
A fool takes the 80 and turns off the light by
Whining about the top 10 and how it’s not right.
How it’s not fair that others have more
As its top 10 teeters and its 80 become poor.
In this life of 100 we choose where to live,
Taking and hating or loving to give.
Live the top 10 then the others will follow.
Choose the dark 10 and the rest will be hollow.

Ten ways to restful mind
Give one-sixth extra time for travel.
Provide one tenth income for old age.
Buy, only when driven by demand.
Lend not, instead, gift one tenth of it.
Hold words, unless asked for.
Help or not, but never hurt.
Expect one-third less output.
Anticipate one-third more input.
Leave wealth only by a Will.
Never exploit others’ weakness.
Then you will have fewer worries.

Gratitude Is The Juice
A harvest comes tenfold of the seed sown
And one tenth of the blossom produced.
Gratitude comes one tenth of the help done
And not tenfold of the deed; be content.

Ten Little Indians
Ten little indian boys
The first little indian gave squaw pretty feather
(little indian boy)
The second little indian made her an indian dollar
(fighting over a squaw)
Well the third little indian gave her moccasin leather
(little indian boy)
The squaw didnt like em at all
The fourth little indian took her riding in his big canoe
(little indian boy)
The fifth little indian took her down the waterfall
(fighting over a squaw)
The sixth little indian taught the squaw how to woo-woo
(little indian boy)
But the squaw didnt like em at all
One little, two little, three little indians
(keep us humming were the ten little indians)
Four little, five little, six little indians
(keep us humming were the ten little indians)
Seven little, eight little, nine little indians
(keep us humming were the ten little indians)
Ten little indian boys
The seventh little indian took her over to his teepee
(little indian boy)
The eighth little indian tried to give her a love poem
(fighting over a squaw)
The ninth little indian said youre my kemosabe
(little indian boy)
The squaw didnt like em at all
The tenth little indian said it really didnt matter
(little indian boy)
He acted like himself and he didnt look at her
(fighting over a squaw)
The squaw didnt care if he never did a thing
(little indian boy)
Cause she loved the tenth indian boy
Loved the tenth indian boy
Loved the tenth indian boy
Loved the tenth indian boy

Our Healthy First Year
The sun is shining brightly
It is a warm and beautiful day
The children are running
The birds are singing
As our little Viva plays
You know, father time is passing by
Seems a happy baby seldom cries
No sign of God’s love could be more clear
Today we give thanks to our healthy first year
We give thanks to our Lord
On this tenth of May
Cause mommy was born
On the very same day
We give thanks to our maker
On this tenth of May
Cause daddy met mommy
On the very same day

Only Sad Memories
Do you know why it’s so hard to let go?
Because it’s impossible to forget your memories
But if you think that’s hard to have happy memories
Imagine having only sad ones to hold on to
So many reminders of what I have lost
Only a fading hope to try and gain it back
Your name is everywhere
Reminders of you are constant
I had so many dreams of you
So much happiness
Then it was ripped away
And dreams became nightmares
I had so much love in my heart saved and waiting for you
But know that love is gone
Leaving behind only emptiness
A hole in my heart
I don’t get why I’m still waiting for you
I know you’ll never come
I know I’ll never hold you or see you or hear you
But you were gone so quickly
My heart was prepared for you to come
Not for you to leave
So when you left
A part of me did too
I was not ever ready to fight
To lose you but it happened
I should let go of my memories
think of reminders of you as hope for the future
That’s almost impossible my memories are truly sad yes
But Holding on to those memories are better then forgetting you completely

In Bronze Chains
On every side,
The city wall was broken through!
But in the Tenth Moon and,
On the tenth day of the moon i will meet you;
And by night,
And by the way of the gate between the two walls of love!
Wick trimmers,
Sentence!
Pots, shovels, dishes and sprinkling bowls;
But the city wall was broken through,
And you are now in bronze chains to write our your mind.

9 Times A Day
Well they dance with my mind
through these traits undefined
you and you and you alike
well you all seem to
Blow me away
Nice times a day then
By the tenth time
I'm drifting away
And you all gather in my brain
And you dance with my mind
I like to intercept your trance
Dissect the stories that you share
While all the rhythm feeds my soul
It all swells up and
Blows me away
Nine times a day then
By the tenth time
I'm drifting away
And you all gather in my brain
And you dance with my mind
You blow me away
Nine times a day then
By the tenth time
I'm drifting away
And you all gather in my brain
And you dance with my mind
Well they dance with my mind
through these traits undefined
you and you and you alike
well you all seem to
you dance with my mind

To Genevieve On Her Twenty Ninth Birthday
Happy Birthday to you Genevieve today you are twenty nine
And with age you have grown mellow like the good expensive wine
And on looking back a decade the years simply seemed to fly
And hope this tenth day of August is a day you will enjoy.
I remember in your teen years you had dreadlocks in your hair
And when things were going against you at your mum you used to swear
But the years have made you mellow and you see things differently
And now with you and mummy dearest it's mostly love and harmony.
Happy Birthday Genevieve Ladds you are twenty nine years old
And you are a special person and your's is a heart of gold
And your friends to you important and they seem to multiply
And hope this tenth day of August is a day you will enjoy.

Stepping On The Stairs
in wanting to go up
you step on the stairs
on the first step
you have to please this black dog
with the meat of a cat
on the second step
you have to deceive this white cat
with the whiskers of a fish
on the third step
you have to please this pink mouse
with a collar of a black dog
rising on the fourth step
you have to convince the hawk
that the white cat is dead
advancing on the fifth step
the bull demands that the fish
must be caught with its fins clipped off
the sixth step is meticulous
you have to find a way to
reconcile the black cat and the white dog
on the seventh you will be confused
what to do and whom to really please
to reach the eight step
the ninth step has this owl
speaking to you to finally proceed
to the tenth step
and you want to advance some more
trying to figure out what these animals
are asking you to do without
creating all the chaos
you want to please them all
to get what you want
finally you take the tenth step
and you are too weary and guilty
and up there you find
there is really nothing worth
the taking at the end
there is just the wind
blowing your hair telling you nothing
