The Silence Of The Morning...

in the land of truth,
no one writes and no
one reads,

one simply knows where
love makes its own fire,

one simply knows where
the spirits meet,

the words are not experts
eyes become closed to these

glories, morning light
shy cheeks, pale lips.

The Poem's Truth Is That It Says More Than It Knows

THE POEM’S TRUTH IS THAT IT SAYS MORE THAN IT KNOWS

The poem’s truth is that it says more than it knows
That it goes beyond its own intention
That it means in more than only one way
The poem’s truth is its hidden music
And the melody it plays through and beyond our listening
A poem’s truth answers itself in endless questions and ambiguities
No wonder no one simply reads these simple words
As if they were simply written.

Someday

hold her close when she's near
let her scare away your fears
only she can dry your tears
[she whispers in your ear]
[with lips of truth]
believe in love
[clairvoyant youth]
believe it's enough
-life could be so sweet someday-
look into those eyes of hers
pay attention to her words
don't just simply wait your turn
[she will speak of wonders]
[with lips of truth]
believe in love
[clairvoyant youth]
believe it's enough
-life could be so sweet someday-
feel her heart change it's pace
tell her things will be okay
kiss her lips and grab her face
[she'll take your breath away]
[with lips of truth]
believe in love
[clairvoyant youth]
believe it's enough
-life could be so sweet someday-
[with lips of truth]
believe it's enough
[clairvoyant youth]
believe in love and..
-someday love could be enough-

Wonderful Christmastime

The moon is right
The spirits up
Were here tonight
And thats enough
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
The partys on
The feelins here
That only comes
This time of year
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
The choir of children sing their song
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding ohhhh
Ohhhhhhh
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
The word is out
About the town
To lift a glass
Ahhh dont look down
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
The choir of children sing their song
They practiced all year long
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
Ding dong, ding dong
The partys on
The spirits up
Were here tonight
And thats enough
Simply having a wonderful christmastime
Simply having a wonderful christmastime

Edgar Lee Masters

Benjamin Fraser

Their spirits beat upon mine
Like the wings of a thousand butterflies.
I closed my eyes and felt their spirits vibrating.
I closed my eyes, yet I knew when their lashes
Fringed their cheeks from downcast eyes,
And when they turned their heads;
And when their garments clung to them,
Or fell from them, in exquisite draperies.
Their spirits watched my ecstasy
With wide looks of starry unconcern.
Their spirits looked upon my torture;
They drank it as it were the water of life;
With reddened cheeks, brightened eyes,
The rising flame of my soul made their spirits gilt,
Like the wings of a butterfly drifting suddenly into sunlight.
And they cried to me for life, life, life.
But in taking life for myself,
In seizing and crushing their souls,
As a child crushes grapes and drinks
From its palms the purple juice,
I came to this wingless void,
Where neither red, nor gold, nor wine,
Nor the rhythm of life are known.

Loving Mother

i remember
loving mother on her
last hours on her
deathbed

spider webs
embroidered in her eyes
blurring from the
morning light

unable to read us
simply imagining
the images
flashing like neon
lights one evening

on that last day
she called my name
and she asked me
something
but i did not answer
anymore

i told her
it is time for her to go
that she must go in peace
that an angel shall meet her
like the light at the end of her tunnel

i held her hand gently
and she closed her eyes

i said a prayer
to send her there.

outside it was so peaceful
not even the wind was there
to make a leaf fall

then the sun shone
and light entered the room
filtered by the glass window

Somethin About

This song was first released on the its about time album. it is the only album it has been released on.
Theres somethin about the ocean rising up to meet the shoreline
Somethin about a river the way it runs to meet the sea
Theres somethin about a rainfall and its like the gift of living
Theres somethin about that water that makes me sing
Oh somethin about the mountains rising right straight up to heaven
And somethin about a canyon in the shade of a cottonwood tree
Somethin about the desert in the afterglow of evening
Theres somethin about the west that makes me sing
Theres somethin about the way you love me baby
Theres somethin about the way your lips meet mine
Theres somethin about the way you like to touch me
It really turns me on and makes my little light shine
Theres somethin about the way you love me baby
Theres somethin about the way your lips meet mine
Theres somethin about the way you like to touch me
It really turns me on and makes my little light shine
Theres somethin about the forest in the latter days of august
Theres somethin about the country on the very first day of springtime
Theres somethin about a wheatfield, oh you know I love the prairie
Theres somethin about the land that makes me sing

Song Of A Dream

ONCE in the dream of a night I stood
Lone in the light of a magical wood,
Soul-deep in visions that poppy-like sprang;
And spirits of Truth were the birds that sang,
And spirits of Love were the stars that glowed,
And spirits of Peace were the streams that flowed
In that magical wood in the land of sleep.

Lone in the light of that magical grove,
I felt the stars of the spirits of Love
Gather and gleam round my delicate youth,
And I heard the song of the spirits of Truth;
To quench my longing I bent me low
By the streams of the spirits of Peace that flow
In that magical wood in the land of sleep.

It's Never Shown

Long ago I submitted a poem
That has never here shown;
And I don't understand why...
It makes me cry.

Perhaps, had it shown
Then I would have known,
The spirit of pleasure
That words of another, alone can measure.
Perhaps the ache
It's missing did create,
Was simply the burning desire
To give and to feel soulful words, on fire.

Do these honest words make me insecure and small?
I believe, not at all.
For has been by Wisdom said:
Truth shall set a person free...
This speaks of both the heart, and the head;
For all who have words to share, even a mere dreamer such as me.

i Love You In The Morning

I love you in the morning
I love you in the night
I love you when I see you
I love you when you are out of sight
I love you when it's raining
I love you when it's dry
I love you when you're laughing
I love you when you cry
I love you in the winter
I love you in the spring
I love you you're humming
I love you when you sing
I love you when you kiss me
I love you more than more
I love you a million simply every single day
I love you so much I simply can't keep up the score

H.L. Mencken

The world always makes the assumption that the exposure of an error is identical with the discovery of truth--that the error and truth are simply opposite. They are nothing of the sort. What the world turns to, when it is cured on one error, is usually simply another error, and maybe one worse than the first one.

He's A Man of His Word

He contemplates life
In general who people are
Or what things are
What is it all about?

He likes to learn
From those of us
With knowledge
Of the here and now
And of the past

He taps away
At his keyboard
As he reads
As he writes
And discovered
To his knowledge
That it helps him
To be a better man

His words are immaculate
Even words I've never heard
But when he writes his poetry
It has meaning to each word

The man is so humble
On what he writes
On what he feels
And on how he preserves others
And their words

I bow to thee Kevin Patrick
Who is a man?
Of his every word

Three Little Words

Three little words
Oh what I'd give for that wonderful phrase
To hear those three little words
That's all I'd live for the rest of my days
And what I feel in my heart
They tell sincerely
No other words can tell it half so clear-early
Three little words
Eight little letters
Which simply mean I love you-ou
And what I feel in my heart
They tell sincerely
No other words can tell it half so clear-early
Three little words
Eight little letters
Which simply mean I love you
Simply mean I-I love you-ou

Sometimes In Wanting To Be Civil

sometimes
in wanting to be civil
i close my mouth
i suppress the
exact words
i prune what is in my mind

like some bonsai
under the sun
what appears are
remnants of
beauty

sometimes in wanting
to endure
our inevitable sufferings
we simply close
our eyes

to the truth
we pretend we like the way
we live
we surmise these do not
last anyway

then we forget to tell the
truth altogether
we even forget
that we are its bearers

simply because
we too want to survive
a flood of lies
a catastrophe
of ingenuinity & falsities

but with you
i am honest enough to admit
i lied
because i am afraid
to lose you

that you must remember

Morningside

Written by: neil diamond
Morningside
The old man died
And no one cried
They simply turned away
And when he died
He left a table made of nails and pride
And with his hands he carved these words inside
For my children
Morning light
Morning bright
I spent the night
With dreams that make you weep
Morning time
Wash away the sadness from these eyes of mine
For I recall the words the old man signed
For my children
And the legs were shaped with his hands
And the top made of oaken wood
And the children sat around this table
Touched with their laughter
Ah, and that was good
Morningside
An old man died
And no one cried
He surely died alone
And truth is sad
For not a child would claim the gift he had
The words he carved became his epitath
For my children

To The Wind

Hey Messenger, what do you do
Traversing along hill and land and water
Simply pretending to construe
Waving shapeless hither and thither

Kindler of fire, collector of clouds
Aeolic by command natural
Kindler of bombers, collector of tears
In breaths of humans, aren't you unnatural

Hey Messenger, what do you do
Messaging along of love and hate
Simply pretending to be true
Hailing and wailing in conspiring haste

Call your Messiah, I shall ask
Your celestiality be checked up
Of your split hearts He shall hark
Hey Messenger, retort, don't simply pass up

The reasons why people lie.

Parents tell their kids that faeries exist
because it makes it easier to smile.
They hide them from the truth
because it makes life seem more worth their while.

If you are the sum of your beliefs,
then what they are doing is not wrong.
It seems wrong to live a lie,
but people's spirits are not that strong.

Spirits broken can be remade,
but they tend not to be the same.
There is truth in the saying,
that the truth itself cannot be tamed.

To wrestle a lion with bare hands,
is to hold fire in your grip -
to feel it burn and sear skin right off;
to feel the lash of truth's harsh whip.

They say things are easier to fight,
when you can see what you're up against.
But your can easily lose your footing,
when you meet fear in that same instance.

To live upon a lie,
is to build up a place to fall.
But there are few who would proceed,
if they knew from the start, that they were running into a wall.

The Morning Writes Its Own Poem

THE MORNING WRITES ITS OWN POEM

The morning writes its own poem
The light is its poem
We need the light of the morning
After the long darkness of night
The morning is hope
The morning is beginning
The morning is a new day
A new world -
We need the morning
And we need to begin again
And we need to feel life has hope
And we need to love the world
And to believe that walking out into it
Begins another day.

Simply Alone

Simply alone as an angel cries
Becoming empty as all her
Hope hides
Simply alone she sits by a window
Bearing wishes of death to Un-fold
Hope lies

Simply alone with out her own home
Beside a story of healing worry
Simply alone and simply Un-known
Hope cries
Simply because she is simply alone
Hope hides hope lies hope cries does hope die?
Or does hope again try?
