The Shallow Waters

on an afternoon
you swear you want something light this time
you want to be like some clouds
those happy ones
those that change faces and shapes and
colors every second
something slippery to our senses
you dislike permanence
and stability
you opt for the floating flimsy things
a leaf floating on the water
a boy wading on the shore afraid of the
depths like the way his mother watches over him
you say
you are tired of these philosophical pursuits
as though thinking hurts
as though every word becomes an argument
you like something fashionable like gowns
and the latest creations of
some gay designers
i am firm and i stay
on the depths of my thoughts
and i am drowning and as you well see
i do not need your help
i like this pain of fathoming
whatever is there
is mine alone and now
step out from the yard of my life
get out of my fence
i live here and this is my territory
this is my loneliness
and i am proud of it.

A Metaphor For Myself.....

early afternoon
i undress and walk towards the water

it is a gray moment
i wade into the water
it is clear
and i can see some fish and
sand at the bottom

i am alone
it is too peaceful away
from everyone

the water is lukewarm
derived from noon
and the shore is too private
to myself

the trees are still and the cottage
has an eye
staring at me from afar

i swim farther, into the depths
floating

there are no seagulls
a ship with a smoke shears the
far horizon

Down The Nile

Lying right beside you all the things we done
This I didn't plan now I understand we're one
We belong together no more time to fight
Underneath the skin we can let it in and float it through the night
And I aint never been here before
And you you , you come and knock on my door
(chorus)
Floating down that moonlight river
Lighter than a child
Warmer than the seven breezes
Floating ~ floating down the Nile
Softer than the clouds around us
Filling up my eyes
Silky like your burning kisses
Floating ~ floating down the Nile

Pink Fluffy Dinosaurs

Electro screens of light
And poppy-colored brights
Im floating on air
Pink fluffy dinosaurs
Tremendously hardcore
Im floating again
This fake fir place
Wont warm my soul nor face
But still Im floating
Again
Hypnosis releases brakes
Make you do things you usually fake
It makes you float
Again
Those bitten by the wild
Will live on
But those who used to bite
Have gone
Golden mirror on the wall
Will make our lives less dull
Well be floating through the day
All our moneys almost gone
But still we live the life we want
We are floating through the day
Those bitten by the wild
Will live on
But those who used to bite
Have gone

Fingertips

Youre sliding down a dream, o yea. where nights are born in blue, thats the truth. youre swimming in a stream, o yea. fish are jumping too, next to you.
Suddenly you notice someones at the door, you could swear youve been through this all before.
Then she runs her fingertips through your hair. your life has just begun. her fingers, they are everywhere. youre floating light like air, leaving the ground and she shines on just like the sun
Youre gazing at the sky, o my. the stars are out tonight, shining bright. youre waving to a cloud, bye-bye. youre drowning in the smile of his eyes. suddenly you feel theres no time for a de
Ough a voice tells you its for real.
And she runs her fingertips through your hair and life has just begun. her fingers, there and everywhere. youre floating light like air, leaving the ground. she-she shines on just like the sun.
Its just a sunny afternoon. somebodys singing songs of love, child. you love a lazy afternoon once in a while.

Sick And Tired

My love is on the line
A little late for all the things you didnt say
Im not sad for you
But Im sad for all the time I had to waste
Cause I learned the truth
Your heart is in a place I no longer wanna be
I knew thered come a day
Id set you free
Cause Im sick and tired
Of always being sick and tired
Chorus:
Your love isnt fair
You live in a world where you didnt listen
And you didnt care
So Im floating
Im floating on air
No warning of such a sad song
Of broken hearts
My dreams of fairy tales and fantasy
Were torn apart
I lost my peace of mind
Somewhere along the way
I knew thered come a time
Youd hear my say
Im sick and tired
Of always being sick and tired
Chorus 2x:
Your love isnt fair
You live in a world where you didnt listen
And you didnt care
So Im floating
Im floating on air
My love is on the line
Chorus:
Your love isnt fair
You live in a world where you didnt listen
And you didnt care
So Im floating
Im floating on air

Eventually

I met a man
And talked about you
He seemed like a man from Osaka I knew
And he listened while I told him how you hurt me
And he consoled me when he told me he'd been hurt too
And he said we are inter-dependent
And the effects on each other never ending
And that the air has no boundaries
I think this water that surrounds me
Is the same water soaking through to you
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
I had some tea
With a gal from Paris
We talked about life, sex, love and poetry
And you can't help it
Your name came up again
And she said man those kind of guys
Really know how to steal all of the oxygen
And I said we are inter-dependent
And the effects on each other never ending
And that the air has no boundaries
I think this water that surrounds me
Is the same water soaking' through to you
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
I have a friend I confide in
He always says doll you got to learn not to lead with your chin
But you can't help it
It all comes up again
And then you have your fill
And your spill reaches down as far as a flood
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
Eventually
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
Eventually
Eventually

I Am On The Edge Of My Own Universe

I AM ON THE EDGE OF MY OWN UNIVERSE

I am on the edge of my own universe
Not going higher
About to fall-
Drawn back into the depths of the depths of the depths
Of my own deadly despair.

I am on the edge of life with others-
One small step across
And I am there -
The wide worlds open before me
The sky all light
Nothing in my way-
And I move freely
From where I am
To where I will be next
Happy in mind
Unable to fall-

The Drowning Silence

i am into this
drowning silence
and i am this
driver of the pearl
of solitude
that even in the
depths of
sadness gleams
even without the
help of light

this drowning silence
makes me
admire the need for
breathing

a streak of light
is all i need in the darkness
of these depths

Evil In A Closet

We were one in words
You finished my sentence
The answer to my puzzle
I can never attract tomorrow
It pushes me inside
I sink in waters deep
Your presence kept me floating
Fat from depths where secrets lie
maybe in another lifetime
I could be the first you meet
I once read a poem
Held my breath
But that moment's gone
First time I felt
Life somewhat hurts
need an option and some hope
Yell at me I want to
be your light that shines
But my ground's shaking
and I might fall
I wish that I could say...
I wish that i could be your evil in a closet

Reflections On A Recurring Dream

Floating downstream ...
... or upstream?
Light flashing through gapes in the over-hanging tree branches
... or from Pulsars whirling in some distant galaxy?
Colors blazing
Nature displaying the abundance of its’ pallet
... or mind’s eye imagining colors never seen?
Textures untouched yet felt
Sounds unheard yet sensed
Faces
With features morphing
Strangers... for the moment
Morphing
Faces
Known and loved
Friend and enemy
Faces from the past
... or from the future?

Shadows
Silhouettes
Marionette-like movements

Movement
I move
Things move past me
Floating downstream or upstream?

Running
In slow motion
My feet are stones
I claw at objects trying to propel myself through molasses atmosphere

Flying!
I work so hard to fly
Someone sees me up here above the trees and points
I flap harder intuitively aware that I must not be caught doing the impossible

Floating
Brushing rustling leaves
Gliding barely above trees
... Just High enough to feel safe.

The Fence

Around my yard there stands a fence
It keeps the outside world out and I safe within
Though the structure is not that immense
It does the purpose as which it was built for and meant.
Neighbors and strangers it keeps out of my yard
Along with their trash and pets which does it harm
I am my yards protector, landscaper and guard
As it is my beauty, and not a trash bin or someone's farm.
My fence allows and welcomes the sunshine and the wind
Mother nature is always welcomed to visit and roam
The squirrels and the birds are always welcomed in
And welcome are the bee's with the pollen they've sewn.

Around my yard there stands a fence
It protects my yard from the enemies about
Too me it makes such perfect sense
Better to stop the entering, than for me to scream and shout.
As my yard is not the playground for a child to use
Or a shortcut for many persons to walk or run
As it it my yard which I won't neglect or abuse
And the work that I do on it, it will never be done.
In the summertime there will be  plants to raise
And the leaves to rake when it becomes the fall
While hoping mother nature with me will always stay
And because of my fence, it will protect it all.

Around my yard there stands a fence
It protects and guards my yard everyday of the year
To others though it might cause an offense
As though it tells the people, not to come over here.
It is my yard which is mine to raise it like a child
To cut it and groom it and keep it nice for all to see
But truly it is GOD'S acre, which I saved from the wild
Then through the wonder of nature, in life I do believe.
So as days will come you will see myself in my yard
And sometimes you might see me nervous and tense
I hate clutter and trash so from there it is always barred
Also to protect my yard and myself, is my mighty fence.

Just The Faces Change

I look around for faces I know
I never ever want to go home
My friends are in bed but I'm best on my own
I'm terrified of driving a car
Afraid I'm afraid of the dark
But it happened before in a different bar
And I know it's late but won't you take me home
I must have thought of getting out now
But how am I gonna get out
When even the names stay the same
Just the faces change
It's easier to stare at the sun
Than look at all the things that you've done
Intentions were good but so was the fun
And you know it's wrong it can't go on for long
I must have thought of getting out now
But how am I going to get out
When even the names stay the same
Just the faces change
Just the faces change
I must have thought of getting out now
But how am I going to get out
When even the names stay the same
Just the faces change
Just the faces change

Clowns

Can u see me now? Can u see me now? Can u see?
All this weeping in the air,
I can tell were about to fall through floating forests in the air
Across the rolling open sea.
Now I kiss and run through air. Leave the past find nowhere,
Floating forests in the air clowns all around you.
Clowns are here to let u know where u let your senses go.
Clowns all around you its a cross i need to bear.
All this black and cruel is fair, this is an emergency
Dont you hide your eyes from me, open them and see me now.
Can u see me now? Can u see? Can u see me now?
Can u see? Can u see? Can u see?
Can u see? Can u see me now? Can u see?
Can u see? Can u see me now?
Can u see me now? Can u see clowns all around you.
Can u see? Can u see?
Can u see? Can u see me now?
Floating, floating, floating, floating.
See me here in the air not holding on to anywhere
But holding on so beware I have secrets I wont share.
See me here wishing you if I dont deny I do contemplate our wish away.
If I ask u not to stay, clowns are here to let u know where u let your senses go,
Clowns all around you its a cross I need to bare.
All this black and cruel is fair,
This is an emergency dont you hide your eyes from me
Open them and see me now.
Can u see me now? Can u see me now? Can u see? Can u see? Can u see?

Lazy Afternoon

Listening to the haunting voice of Nina Simone
Celebrating time to myself as a temporary loan
Everything is quiet but thoughts are invading
Giving in to temptation reality is slowly fading

Crisp white cotton sheets feel cool on my skin
Soft fluffy clouds granting the remission of sin
Blinds filter the light and the room has a glow
Thoughts of the hierophant from a spread of Tarot

Floating on a dark stream in a great big seashell
Pulled by graceful swans wishing me farewell
I'm dreaming of a dark forest with huge oak trees
A place among moist tall grass puts me at ease

Memories of past times surface on a lazy afternoon
Leaning against the piano like resting in a saloon
Time seems to stand still drowning all evil and fears
While it gets darker outside and the moon appears

A lazy afternoon gives way to a sensual dark night
And thoughts of the one I love urgently excite
Thundering waves rolling in and brake on shore
He undresses slowly after walking through the door

Floating Fence

Floating life
Floating fence
Floating talk
Floating air
O my dear, look
The sky is near
And the sky is fixed
Look, Our love is fixed
And it is in eternity
Respect love
Respect faith
We are made for
Each other
We are made for
Welfare of all.

Friedrich Nietzsche

People who comprehend a thing to its very depths rarely stay faithful to it forever. For they have brought its depths into the light of day: and in the depths there is always much that is unpleasant to see.

Parachute jump

While I stood at the door
I noticed
how the depths can suck you in,
can paralyse your heart and soul.

With parachute
strapped to me I learnt
that there are things
much deeper than fun
and that pain and pleasure
has a very fine dividing line
and that reality
is the master of situations

but that the heart
talks its own language
sometimes past reason
and almost unwilling
I was dragged along,
did I dare me
into your depths

to fall into you
past slippery cliffs
and read the wind, the weather,
the change of atmosphere
deep in your eyes
and you converted me
from explorer, scout and soldier
and taught me something about life
while I tried
to make a safe landing
and we were still
lying in each other’s arms.

Mean Sleep

Written by: cree summer
What can we scrape together
With just the flesh as evidence
Handfuls of hate and the bittersweet ambivalence
'cause i am pushing cobwebs and i'm folding into myself
Who will find me under this mean sleep
How could the clouse tease us into thinking it might rain
How could the need deceive us into thinking things might change
I had a mean sleep over you and it hurts coming back to life
You could burn a thousand days
And i would need no other light
You could die a thousand ways
And i'd still love you back to life
But my needs rising angry and loneliness like quicksand
Who will find me under still mean sleep
How could the clouse tease us into thinking it might rain
How could the need deceive us into thinking things might change
I had a mean sleep over you and it hurts coming back to life
I am lost to the longing
I am moulded by my memory
Had shut down half my mind
Just to still the space you left behind
'cause i am pushing cobwebs and i'm folding into myself
Who will find me under this mean sleep
How could the clouse tease us into thinking it might rain
How could the need deceive us into thinking things might change
I had a mean sleep over you and it hurts coming back to life

Be Not Like The Frogs And The Clouds

be not like the frogs that copulate in the rain
on those nights where others cannot sleep
be not like those that croak without meaning
on the murky ponds, on those rivited rivers

be not like the clouds that drift east to west,
and have not known what is fidelity to permanence
or what colors to choose as they change shapes
for the seasons that come and go like the wind

be not like me, for i know not what is there to be
a perfection not attained in any form of my poetry
do not follow me for my ways are not theirs
those who pave the easy & wide paths to destiny

just be yourself my dear, use the light inside your soul
stare at the flicker of your own wisdom your own goal
scroll your own choices, take the path of your loneliness
speak the language of your heart then feel your wholeness.

Depths

Down in the depths of the great blue sea.
I drown in sorow and boundless selfpity.
Ghosts of the past haunt so eriely.

Ever time I near the surface,
demons down below grab with ill purpose.
To beat and plunder what hope is left,
I now drown here in these hopless depths

I wander through to ry and find my way.
To a new life a brighter better day.
On and on the journey goes,
continually stepping on others toes.
Every time I learn a lesson a trapis sprung,
I start regrettin.

Drowning in these horrid depths.
Please save my soul it's close to death.
