The Morning Chants

they are like
cicadas
chirping on the dry
seasons
trying to harmonize
the sadness of
the fallen leaves
every morning
when the winds are dead
when the chimes
are silent
there the chants begin
to fill in the spaces
of this dying town
my heart listens.

Wind Chimes

Hangin' down from my window
Those are my wind chimes
Wind chimes
Wind chimes
In the late afternoon you're
Hung up on wind chimes
Wind chimes
Wind chimes
Though it's hard i try
Not to look at my wind chimes
Wind chimes
Wind chimes
Now and then a tear rolls on my cheek
On a warm breeze the little bells
Tinklin' wind chimes
Wind chimes
Wind chimes
Close your eyes and lean back
Listen to wind chimes
Wind chimes
Wind chimes
It's so peaceful
Close to a lullabye
The wind chimes tinglin'
Tinglin'
Tinglin'
Tinglin'
The wind chimes tinglin'
Tinglin'
Tinglin'
Tinglin'
Da do do da do do da do do da do do
Whisperin' winds send my wind chimes a tinklin'
Whisperin' winds send my wind chimes a tinklin'
Whisperin' winds send my wind chimes a tinklin'
Whisperin' winds send my wind chimes a tinklin'

The Chimes of twilight

Chrysanthemums are flowering in autumn and the faded leaves of flamboyant trees blown with the autumn winds.
The time has come to whitewash the churchyard tombs and I can hear my chum's silent song like a chirping.
A far smoke is carrying off from a chimney.
This gloomy evening an old lady is picking some fallen leaves in the garden and the sun's last light focused on my window.
Suddenly I closed as the mosquito soldiers try to invade my room.

My Little Town

Words & music by paul simon
In my little town
I grew up believ--ing
God keeps his eye on us all
And he used to lean upon me
As I pledged allegiance to the wall
Lord I recall
My little town
Coming home after school
Flying my bike past the gates
Of the factories
My mom doing the laundry
Hanging our shirts
In the dirty breeze
And after it rains
Theres a rainbow
And all of the colors are black
Its not that the colors arent there
Its just imagin-ation they lack
Everythings the same
Back in my little town
Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town
Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town
In my little town
I never meant nothin
I was just my fathers son
Saving my money
Dreaming of glory
Twitching like a finger
On the trigger of a gun
Leaving nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town
Repeat and fade:
Nothing but the dead and dying
Back in my little town

Loss

The loss of a child
is sadness within.
How do we recover?
How do we begin?
No one can comfort you.
No one can console.
The loss is devasting.
You feel your not whole.
Part of you has gone
to where you can't see.
And the memory it leaves
clings to thee.

The loss is hard,
hard to accept.
Each tear that has fallen,
each tear you have wept
is a chasm of emptiness
that you can't fill.
Nothing can fill it,
not even God's will.
And so we take a step each day.
We move a little slower
and try to make our way
and come to terms with loss.

Seasons Come And Seasons Go

Summer winds.
Soon they will be gone,
And
Fall begins.
And it wont be long,
Before
Winter ends.
And the chirping of the birds singing
In the Spring,
Will be heard
Once again.

Summer winds.
Soon they will be gone,
And.
Fall begins.
And it wont be long,
Before.
Winter ends.
And the chirping of the birds singing.
In the Spring,
Will be heard.
Once again.

Seasons come and seasons go.
Appreciated more,
As one grows old.

Summer winds.
Soon they will be gone,
And.
Fall begins.
And it wont be long,
Before.
Winter ends.
And the chirping of the birds singing
In the Spring,
Will be heard.
Once again.

Seasons come and seasons go.

Seasons come and seasons go.
Appreciated more.
As one grows old.

Seasons come and seasons go.
Appreciated more.
As one grows old.

Leaves (thread)

under the dogwood
leaves cover
a cat’s grave

early spring
one leaf still dangles
from the tree

palmistry
dew drops on a leaf
pick a vein

widow’s diary
pressed rose petal
the last leaf

with the rain drops
leaves flutter to the ground
fall showers

fallen leaves
circusing in the grass
merry-go-wind

October shower
leaves in the gutter
disembark

leaves changing colors
across the landscape
season's chameleons

morning rain
under maple leaves
tap my shoulder

leaves ripple
with melodies
cicadas song

Winds Of Seasons With Hands Of Hope

i hear the wind
by the wind sound
talking to the waves
with a wind sound
mounted upon the leaves
on the ground
to wind through
and around the leaves proudly
as it runs through me so loudly
and mannered towards me so gladly
to sing a song
by the winds of seasons
as they change in seasons
and cheer in different joy

i feel the wind under me
i can see the sun shine over me
i can walk along the path to sober me
and sleep around the hands on me
to hold me with hands of hope
as all hands do matter
to hold each soul
with hope
today and the days ever
to let the hands of hope
touch my heart
and cleanse me for yet a season
in winds of seasons

You ask me if I am sad…

I know why you are asking me if I am sad
Like Pablo Neruda I have written most of the sad lines
The saddest even if you paid
The closest attention

Sunset, dimming nature’s lights
Departure of my dearly beloved
Drying riverbeds, wilting vines on the fence
The well of the house that finally ran dry
The grass that promised to grow some flowers
The sadness of the eyes trying to hide in the curves of the smile
The breakfast on that lonely table
The river flowing all alone towards the sea
The birds stopping on this silent tunnel and then flying away

All these you have been reading
Every word seeping without a quiver in the bottom of your heart
They fall like dead leaves from trees without buds

The silent sands covering the shores of your memories
All these you have been seeing, figuring out
My sadness and perhaps from your sadness too you begin to ask
Why? What could be the reason for all these?

Tonight, I am looking at the moon
I am not looking at my wound
I have no quibble I am simply seeing things the way they are
I have no beginning and I have no end
I do not die; I only live every moment of my life
I may be shattered but I make myself whole again

Tonight, let us not ask the questions
Let us not care about the answers….

September Stream

Fallen to the wash
Dead leaves in September
There only to float away
A sign of seasons change
Autumnal picture postcard
In the landscape which we walk
Pathways losing shade and shelter
Bare branches rise above
Flower heads falling away
Leaving bowed stems
Tall grass and broken sticks
Leaves blown to the water
To be washed away
The world in all its movement
The world amid its change
The cycle of everything
Now seen in the dying leaves
Falling and taken away
In a September stream

Abstraction Fo The Word Chirp....

i hear birds chirping
early morning
on those trees

clouds arrive, light
spreads,
green becomes too green
in the fields of
life,

i hear birds chirping
sweet to my ear
i give it priority

abstract. delet morning
move out clouds from the picture
double click green fields
focus on life

delet birds
add volume to chirping

it is all chirping now
just chirping
chirping chirping

the essence of chirp.
i have abstracted it from
everything else.

Early Morning Symphony

silence is a
blank sheet of paper

the notes come from
the birds

this early morning
i hear the most beautiful

song, a choir of birds
chirping, winds gently

blowing, hushes from
leaves, drums from my

footsteps, beatings of
my heart

whistles from my soul.

Another Day

What seems like such a winter's tale
Lightening runs through the fallen flames
By kneeling down we're here to pray
At that point forsaken unafraid
I only wanna feel you being strong
I only wanna feel you being strong
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
Another day
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
You done that to me
Feel my breath go cold and calm
My pride is last and I sin again
And all the seasons change their scent
A year of hell they come against my head once more
I only wanna feel you being strong
I only wanna feel you being strong
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
Another day
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
You done that to me
INSTRUMENTAL
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
Another day
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin
You done that to me
Call me up and let's begin
Call me up and let's begin

Four Seasons

Summer is sadly on the wane,
As, cool autumn creeps on stage.
The nights begin to impart a chill,
And strong winds go on the rampage.

Darkness sneaks in on us early,
As our evenings invite twilight,
Then we wake up to a greyish dawn,
Following a long and obscure night.

The dying season, is slowly turning,
The leaves to bright copper tones,
Each swooping down, to cover,
The heavily, moss clad, flagstones.

Thus preparing us all for winter,
Putting the whole earth to sleep,
Until our next spring awakens,
And new shoots begin to peep.

These four seasons give us pleasure,
In their own individual way,
The joy of each one's beginning,
The sad ending of each one's display.

What The White Owl Does Besides Flapping Its Wings

Deep in the night
Hovers on the trees

Some dead feathers are falling

A Whispery Hollow Transfixed Awe

A Vow In Making
A Venture Forth Back
A Fallen Innocent
Gave Rise To Fallen Hearts

Arise The Sadness
An Isolatory Night Glimmer
Upon A Night Full Of 'A.I.'
Filled The Night Sky

As Everything Grew Dark
But Alight Of A Face
A Whispery Hollow Of Me
In Being Driven The Opposite Way She Was Forward

A Moment's Glimpse Transfixed
Upon A Night Drive Back
Transfixes My Sadness
Of A Vow Affixed In Promise

A Vow One Night To Return
In Seeing Her Upon Happenstance
A Madness Grew From A Silent Vow
To Fill Her Hollow Empty Of A Boy

In Hesitation To Fulfill A Vow In Having Made
Increase OF Guilt For An Unfulfilled Love
In Fathering A Future Child Made Ephemeral
Forgotten Night Glimmer Ten Years On

Remembered Now In Looking Forward
Transfixed Sadness Of A Whisper Upon A Night
Vow Of Grandeur Defined With Sadness
Of A Vow Of Marriage Within A Dream

sadness
i cant feel anything
pain
have bruises all over me, crying myself to sleep
wonder
if u still care about me

sadness
i cant love you anymore
pain i wish i was not alive
wonder
when you will hold me again

sadness
i miss your touch on my body
pain
my heart hurts and i cant see anything
wonder
when i will stop wishing i was dead

sadness
the moments we had replay in my head over and over again
pain
why did u leave?
wonder
if you really loved me

sadness
i cant stop crying
pain
part of me is dying
wonder
WHEN WILL THIS END?

Have I Told You Lately

(van morrison)
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you theres no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles thats what you do
For the morning sun in all its glory
Greets the day with hope and comfort too
You fill my life with laughter
And somehow you make it better
Ease my troubles thats what you do
Theres a love thats divine
And its yours and its mine like the sun
And at the end of the day
We should give thanks and pray
To the one, to the one
Have I told you lately that I love you
Have I told you theres no one else above you
Fill my heart with gladness
Take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles thats what you do
Theres a love thats divine

The Beauty That Resides In Sadness

it is with great sadness that
i write
you a letter,
everything in it is all about sadness
it is not just about us
or you,
it is about the whole massive humanity
that is never drowned
with sadness but struggles in that ocean
of choices and so alone
amidst the
storms and the
other survivors

it is with great sadness that we gather here
and begin to hear
the sounds of all these forms and shapes and
colors of
sadness

i listen to you on an impromptu
and you listen to me
with all patience and with all sadness we embrace ourselves
share sadness with hugs and
at the end
we are filled with so much beauty
feeling so beautiful with
these massive sadness that
never leaves us free

we are bound, and yet when we face ourselves in the mirror of
ourselves
my goodness, we are so
beautiful
