A boy to raise at her young age
No help from him but she's alive

Do Not Threaten Me With Fire My Love
do not threaten me with the fire of your body my love
for i am a man born of fire and shall die of fire
i eat fire, i bathe in fire, i swim in the deepest part of fire
i like to burn in the fire that you start
from your flicker, from the flints of your gaze
i like to see this hearth, this warmth, this conflagration
you with me burning like hell

The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor
the moon by night. Psalm 121
On a hillside scattered with temples broken
under the dogday sun, my friend and I drank
local wine at nightfall and ate grapeleaves
in goat-yogurt glaze. The living grape vines
bore fruit overhead. Beyond our balcony,
beyond the Turkish rooftops, an old moon
touched Venus at one tip. This vintage,
he said, would melt pig iron. But I wondered,
were we drunk enough, and he said no. I took him,
staggering and laughing, in my arms, and soon,
with snow at nightfall easing off,
another old moon slid into the hill
behind my dead friend’s house. He loved
that smear of light cast back on it from earth.

Sleep In My Arms Lullaby
The somnolent skies have ceased seething, for day's nearly through
And the winds echo whispering thoughts of returning to you.
The heavens throb, pulsing and bleeding in crimsons, once blue,
Their passions, like flames, fill my veins as you pass into view;
The breeze holds its breath as you touch and embrace me anew
And smouldering clouds withdraw, blushing, and paling their hue.
The twilight is painted with wandering dreams of your charms
So close your eyes slowly and slip into sleep in my arms.
The pendulous moon appears, sweeping the fog from up high
Distilling the drops into notes of a hushed lullaby,
The quivering tunes unfold tales which amaze, mystify,
The stories they tell reflect love as revealed by your sighs,
And tremulous stars fling a fire that fevers the skies,
Their fury is burning, alive in the depths of your eyes.

Qou Vadis?
he said one night he got the moon
under his arms and he was serious
we were so afraid and so we believe him
he laughed so hard
that the moon fell out from his arms
it escaped
and took its comfort again in the skies

A Canopy Of Silence
The wings of night
few silently under a silver moon,
lovers gazed into each other’s eyes
as they walked together
under a canopy of silence.
The eyes of night watched
as they walked
and no murmur was heard.
It was if they were enveloped
within a canopy of silence.
