The Mocking Bird On The Tree Fronting The House...

a mocking bird
sits on a branch of a tree
that fronts the house that
papa made

papa is gone.

a mocking bird left but one
sunny day

after the heavy rains for months
the mocking bird comes back

it is bringing silence
unlike all the other mocking birds
in town

the mocking bird is dead
a boy abandoned by his mother
stoned it

now the window if you walk a little
distant from the house
and sit on a bench across the road
looks like a Cheshire cat
giving Alice that fable smile.

Mocking Bird

Mocking bird,
I am now in Washington DC!
But the bomb dropped and i was able to escape.

Mocking bird,
My silver plate is with you;
So do take care of it.

Mocking bird,
Flowing with the feelings of love and the vibes of your muse;
But do watxch out before you are knocked down!
And try to fly away to a safer place.

Living sparks in the dark

The world will fast collide
With its own beginning,
Then silence shall reign
Supreme again, I surmise.

There'll be no more singing.
Joyous choirs shall be silent
Even Kingdom Halls shall be shrill
With no end or beginning
There'll be only time to kill.

Endless as a mocking bird
Mocking at his will…
With his black-wing-span
Across all that we have done
Right across the Rio Grande
There'll be a death knell…
Over all we have come to understand.

On all except that mocking bird,
And his living sparks in the dark
In hand!

Shes Gone

My woman is gone (woman is gone), my woman is gone (woman is gone).
She had left me a note hanging on my door:
She say she couldnt take it, she couldnt take any more.
The pressure around me - just couldnt see;
She felt like a prisoner who needs to be free.
Fools have tried, yeah - wisemen have failed:
Oh, listen to me, honey: life could never be another jail.
Still we know now: well never see smoke without fire
And everyone you see has a heart desire.
Shes gone (shes gone), shes gone (shes gone),
Shes gone (shes gone), shes gone, ye-ah!
Oh, mocking bird, have you ever heard,
Words that I never heard?
Oh, mocking bird, have you ever heard,
Words that I never heard?
She made it through the exit (she just couldnt take it);
She made it through the exit (she just couldnt make it).
And, oh, my children, if you see me cryin:
My woman is gone.
If you see me - if you see me - if you see me -
If you see me cryin -
If you see me - if you see me - if you see me -
If you see me cryin:
Shes gone (shes gone), shes gone (shes gone), shes gone, ye-ah!
Oh, mocking bird, have you ever heard,
Words that I never heard?
Oh, mocking bird, have you ever heard,
Words that I never heard?
Shes gone (shes gone), shes gone (shes gone), shes gone
(shes gone)

Fifteen False Propositions Against God - Section XIII

Hush now baby don't say a word
Mama's going to buy you a mocking bird
The third
Joyful mystery.
The joy that descends on you when all the trees are cut down
and all the fountains polluted and you are still alive waiting
for an absent savior. The third
Joyful mystery.
If the mocking bird don't sing
Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring
The diamond ring is God, the mocking bird the Holy Ghost.
The third
Joyful mystery.
The joy that descends on you when all the trees are cut down
and all the fountains polluted and you are still alive waiting
for an absent savior.

Mocking Bird

Mocking Bird
Written by: Wilfred C. Mellers, Thursday, October 27,2011 @ 09: 32 AM

How could an angel break my heart?
A deed done not too smart
Of me you were the better part
Now I have to face a brand new start

I guess you never heard
It is a sin to kill a Mocking Bird
Forced to face my greatest fears
Sadden eyes baptized by tears

Something so right turned so wrong
Memories now of turned a sad long song
I loved you so didn’t you know?
This is why I let you go

Turning now to the next page
Turtledove freed from its cage
This is how it must be
Now and for all I set you free

Consequence Of A Mocking Bird

once i was walking by the nile river
i saw my friends the black smith

my folly was that i was near his shop
the sparks had a good hop

it came on my clothes what a inconvenience
thats what my wife's opinions

there came a black goofy bird
mocking was his job what a disastrous bird

laughing at me is what he did
he laugh was like a annoying kid

my temper committed suicide and now its dead
my wishes was to send that bird to its death bead

i grabbed it from the tree and banged its head on the bench deck
then i twisted his neck

his death was pleasure
my anger found the murder treasure

The Lesson

MY cot was down by a cypress grove,
And I sat by my window the whole night long,
And heard well up from the deep dark wood
A mocking-bird's passionate song.
And I thought of myself so sad and lone,
And my life's cold winter that knew no spring;
Of my mind so weary and sick and wild,
Of my heart too sad to sing.
But e'en as I listened the mock-bird's song,
A thought stole into my saddened heart,
And I said, 'I can cheer some other soul
By a carol's simple art.'
For oft from the darkness of hearts and lives
Come songs that brim with joy and light,
As out of the gloom of the cypress grove
The mocking-bird sings at night.
So I sang a lay for a brother's ear
In a strain to soothe his bleeding heart,
And he smiled at the sound of my voice and lyre,
Though mine was a feeble art.
But at his smile I smiled in turn,
And into my soul there came a ray:
In trying to soothe another's woes
Mine own had passed away.

Hush Little Baby

Hush little baby
Dont you cry
Papas gonna sing you a lullaby
Hush little baby
Dont say a word
Papas gonna bring you baby a mocking bird
And if that mocking bird wont sing well
Papas gonna buy you a diamond ring
If that ring dont shine
It would break this heart of mine

Charles Lamb

Why Not Do It, Sir, Today?

'Why so I will, you noisy bird,
This very day I'll advertise you,
Perhaps some busy ones may prize you.
A fine-tongued parrot as was ever heard,
I'll word it thus-set forth all charms about you,
And say no family should be without you.'

Thus far a gentleman addressed a bird,
Then to his friend: 'An old procrastinator,
Sir, I am: do you wonder that I hate her?
Though she but seven words can say,
Twenty and twenty times a day
She interferes with all my dreams,
My projects, plans, and airy schemes,
Mocking my foible to my sorrow:
I'll advertise this bird to-morrow.'

To this the bird seven words did say:
'Why not do it, sir, to-day?'

The Falcon

Why should my sleepy heart be taught
To whistle mocking-bird replies?
This is another bird you've caught,
Soft-feathered, with a falcon's eyes.

The bird Imagination,
That flies so far, that dies so soon;
Her wings are coloured like the sun,
Her breast is coloured like the moon.

Weave her a chain of silver twist,
And a little hood of scarlet wool,
And let her perch upon your wrist,
And tell her she is beautiful.

After The Storm

after the passing of the storm
last night
the leaves are in disarray
entangled in some
broken twigs
on the ground

i look at the window
down under
and see the mess

on a tree fronting my window
i hear the mocking bird
singing

trying to resolve the disorder
at the top of its
lingering song

Mocking Bird

Dark as dungeon, rough as the sea
don't provoke my tolerance, you hardly know me...
Broken are my feathers... a bird that cannot fly
just your words are enough to make me cry.
Nestled in your own world, the feathers keep you warm
my life is a struggle.... I'm still fighting the storm
your given hand of friendship and floating views i see
Are enough to kill a mocking bird and set her free

Give Me Any Reason

Give me any reason why,
You walk around and talk, talk.
As if you're on a mission,
Just to walk around and talk, talk.

Are you peace keeping...
And is this what you believe?
Or are you demonstrating,
That your mind is conflict free.

Give me any reason why,
You walk around and talk, talk.
As if you're on a mission,
Just to walk around and talk, talk.

People think you're cuckoo,
Since this is all you do.
Some believe you're stalking them,
To mock their attitudes.

Are you making it a point,
That they are uptight?
And are you doing this in sight,
To prove you're right?

Are you making it a point,
That they are uptight?
And are you doing this in sight,
To prove you're right?

Or...
Are you demonstrating,
That your mind is conflict free.
And your mission is to have this seen released?

People think you're cuckoo,
Since this is all you do.
Some believe you're stalking them,
To mock their attitudes.

Give me any reason why you walk around and talk, talk.
Since people think you're cuckoo,
And you're mocking them too.

Give me any reason why you walk around and talk, talk.
Since people think you're cuckoo,
And you're mocking them too.

Are you mocking them,
Quacking.
Are you mocking them?

Are you mocking them,
Quacking.
Are you mocking them?

The Poets Pride 12/06/08

you have put pride in my heart and love in my soul
letting out emotions that i can't control
if my poems have inspired you to be the very best
then my poems have been put to the test.

for deep inside everyone-there is a voice that
wants to be heard.
just like the singing of a mocking bird.
this voice comes from deep within
and like the bird it wants to sing.

if people were to listen to the feelings locked up inside
they would not have anything to hide.
for through our words we are set free.
of all our worries and despairs
and wipes away all our cares.

even if it is for a short while, we become like the
bird flying high in the sky.
we leave the aches and pains on the ground below
and release all emotions that we know.

as we come back to the realities that we left behind
the burdens have dissappeared and a sense
of well being fills our hearts.
to give us a brand new start.

this is the poets pride-and i am happy to say
it has affected people in many a way.

Ill Be Your Baby Tonight

(bob dylan)
Close your eyes
Shut the door
You dont have to worry anymore
Ill be your baby tonight
Dim the lights
Roll down the shades
You dont have to be afraid
Ill be your baby tonight
Oh that mocking bird is gonna sail away, and were gonna forget it
The big bad moon is gonna shine like a spoon, were gonna let it
You wont regret it
Kick your shoes off, do not fear
Bring your bottle over hrere
Ill be your baby tonight
Oh that mocking bird is gonna sail away, and were gonna forget it
The big bad moon is gonna shine like a spoon, were gonna let it
You wont regret it
Kick your shoes off, do not fear
Bring your bottle over hrere
Because Ill be your baby tonight

I Remember The Mimicking Bird

it is perching on a branch of a tree in front of our house
facing me
this hottest day of the year
when all the leaves are falling
like an inevitable misfortune

i open the window and it does not fly away
i whistle
it whistles too

i sing a song it sings the same song as mine
i hum, it hums too

it is mocking me
but i like it that way

i don't consider it my enemy
not even a flattery
perhaps a compliment
to my dissent.
