The Leaking Roof....

there is no use
repairing the leak of the roof
of this
house

it is raining
let it rain
let the water wet this floor
and the furniture

let us wait when will this dark night
end
when this heavy rain shall stop

on the same leak
we shall see the light that falls
on those wet floors
and furniture

it will show us the truth
and shall guide us
what to do next

Poor Man's Rain

Some people call it poor man's rain
When pots and pans on nightly stairs
Sound drips and drops from roof leak strain

Some people call it poor man's rain
When duct taped cracks brace to withstand
The pounding flood on window panes

Some people call it poor man's rain
When coats and shoes are frayed and worn
And puddles morning sidewalks stain

Some people call it poor man's rain
When sheets of water wait for dark
A blessing that the night contains.

Were Gonna Move

(words & music by vera matson - elvis presley)
Well theres a leak in this old building
Yes, theres a leak in this old building
Well theres a leak in this old building
Were gonna move to a better home
We got no pane in this old window
We got no pane in this old window
We got no pane in this old window
Were gonna move to a better home
Well theres a hole in the roof where the rain pours in
A hole in the floor where it drops right out again
Well theres a leak in this old building
Well theres a leak in this old building
Well theres a leak in this old building
Were gonna move to a better home
Well theres a crack across the ceiling
Yes theres a crack across the ceiling
Well theres a crack across the ceiling
Were gonna find us a better home
Weve gotta stove without a chimney
Weve gotta stove without a chimney
What goods a stove without a chimney
Were gonna move to a better home
Pulling down window shades is no use at all
The kids and the neighbor can peep right through the wall
Well theres a leak in this old building
Well theres a leak in this old building
Well theres a leak in this old building
Were gonna move to a better, move to a better
Move to a better home

Waiting For The Light

time is running wild
and fast
my heart is beating like
a drum of
the natives

the sands are consuming
their own
grains

i do not know where is the
door

all windows are closed and it is very dark

it is a night without stars

it is a roof without a leak for rain

time is jumping to another
side

light is coming and
i have a hint where i must go
for now

i am in complete
ignorance
about what happens next

and this is
the happiest part of my life

uncertainty in the darkness of my night
waiting for the light.

A Rain To Remember!

Rain lashed out with lightning and thunder!
For every lightning phone also rang without fail!
It continued till I switched off light and went to bed!

Next day morning some death news due to lightning came!
Storm has dissipated but rain lashed now and then;
It's raining time nothing can stop it from falling!

Today there is complete silence prevailing!
Night is cold and wind has stopped after evening
Yet rain warning is given and is expected for 24 hours!

The summer drought without rain is causing so heavy rain now!
Farming fields without rain crops are waiting for rain
A week's rain at least will make it okay now!

When there is no rain we cry for it and when it is there we don't want
Whether we say this or that rain will do the best it can when it comes!

Happy... I Am So Happy!

Happy! ! I am so happy....
Yeah! it is raining!
I will drench in the rain today!
Happy... I am so happy..
The weather is so vital and cloudy..
Dark clods and ash in colour
It is drizzling...
Happy...I am so happy!
Oh! God please give more rain...
Raining is falling heavily...
Oh! raindrops fall into my heart!
Pure water from the sky!
Happy.. I am so happy!
The whole day I will wet in the rain!
Bye! Bye1
I will roam in the rain!
Happy... I am so happy..
I will dance in the rain..
Happy.. I am so happy
By the freshness of rain!

The Rain

I don't know how far I can see
'cause it's all blue water streaming towards me
The sun needs to shine normally
but it's all grey rain
The rain, the rain on me, rain on me
Chorus
So I will find a place, where I can hide from the sky
And I will wait in this place,
'cause I know you're trying to
Open up your sky
Push away the dark clouds and shine
Forget the thunder so loud, don't be afraid
Show yourself ! Don't hide now !
The rain, the rain on me, rain on me
The rain, the rain on me, rain on me
I don't know how high you can see
but it's all grey water falling down on me
The sun needs to shine normally
but it's all grey rain
Chorus

Last Night I Was Talking To Myself

last night i was talking to myself
asking and making answers
like the way i make a knot and
then untie them from a cemented
post at the port
so that the wooden boat
may finally be let loose
and be free to sail
to its chosen destination

the sea was so wide
like all seas that you have seen
but the night was so dark
like no other

last night i was formulating solutions
to a very common problem
like how to cure a cold
with just a glass of water
like how to appease the coldness
of a room with nothing but
a piece of a woolen blanket
and curling feet and
hiding hands in my pocket
so i can have the exact warmth
so i may finally have my much
needed sleep and
dream about the peace
between the clouds
and the stars

last night i could not sleep
and you are beside me
last night i opened the window
of our room while you
were there snoring
last night i was silently
talking about the absence of
stars the loss of the moon

and then the rain fell
heavily on the roof of this house
and then i closed the windows
and then i listened to every sound
and then i noticed a faint light coming
from a leak of these walls

i know
another morning has finally
come
it is broken they say.

Just Like The Rain

Just like the rain,
That pours from the sky,
My love for you will never die.

Just like the rain,
That falls on the ground,
I will always be around.

Just like the rain,
That falls upon me,
I'm as happy as I could ever be.

Just like the rain,
With it's pure beauty,
It surely is a sight to see.

Just like the rain,
I can now see,
We were truly meant to be.

Just like the rain,
Sometimes warm and sometimes cold,
You make my heart, not break, but fold.

Just like the rain,
Beneath your feet,
Just come over here and take a seat.

Just like the rain,
Watch it with me,
So you can begin to see.

Just like the rain,
Who may always know,
That I need to stay, and never go.

Just like the rain,
Who knows what's in my heart,
It knows we should never be apart.

Just like the rain,
Please just stay,
And never go any day.

Just like the rain,
That descends from the sky,
Please, please just give me a try...

Just like the rain,
It doesn't last forever,
But it might if we're together.

Just like the rain,
I'm asking you,
When are you going to?

Just like the rain,
I cannot wait,
Until I'm finally in that place.

Just like the rain,
That's in that place in your heart,
When am I going to be that part?

Just like the rain,
That goes alone,
Am I going to turn into stone?

Just like the rain.
I'm waiting for you,
Waiting until you finally do.

Just like the rain,
That goes away,
Do you really want me to stay?

Just like the rain,
I want to know,
Should I stay or should I go?

Just like the rain,
Before that time is passed,
Why don't you just ask?

Just like the rain,
So mysterious to me,
You are just as much as thee.

Just like the rain,
I feel on my skin,
When will you let this relationship begin?

Just like the rain,
I cannot wait,
So come and ask me,
Before it's too late.

Summer Rain

When you stop seeing beauty
You start growing old
The lines on your face
are a map to your soul
When you stop taking chances
You'll stay where you sit
You won't live any longer
But it'll feel like it
I lost myself in the summer rain
I lost myself
I lost myself in the summer rain
In the summer rain
Tequila and Orange
Jamaica and rum
At the Morella
Honey on my tongue
In a small boat on a generous sea
You let me be your enemy
Tiny hand
With a grip on the world
Holding our breath now
Diving for pearls
I lost myself in the summer rain
I lost myself
I lost myself in the summer rain
Just as you find me
Always I will be
A little bit too free
With myself
Just as you find me
Always I will be
A little bit too free
With myself
I lost myself in the summer rain
I lost myself
Now there's no one else
In the summer rain
Raining down
Raining down
Rain
Raining now
Raining now
Just as you find me
Always I will be
A little bit too free
With myself
Just as you find me
Always I will be
A little bit too free
With myself
It's not why you're running
It's where you're going
It's not what you're dreaming
But what you're gonna do
It's not where you're born
It's where you belong
It's not how weak
But what will make you strong

The whole day it is raining! ! !

Patter patter silver rain drops
Falls from the sky
The whole day it is raining!
What a beautiful sight!
Sometimes it drizzles and sometimes it falls heavily
The whole day seems to be a nice day
I like to see and touch the rain drops
The shower of the rain
Filled us with it's touch
The whole day
It is raining!
The whole day is so pleasant!
As it washes and touches our hearts with the pleasure of the rain drops!

Rain oh Rain

Rain oh Rain
When will thy come to wash my pain?
Rain oh Rain
I have been in tears all day
Rain oh Rain
Please do not go far away
Rain oh Rain
Release thy fresh water upon me
Rain oh Rain
Melt the ice and make me chill
Rain oh Rain
Wet the earth and make it plant bloom
Rain oh Rain
Let thy freshness embrace the earth
Rain oh Rain
Make me happy and filled with joy
Rain oh Rain
For thy presence i wait.

I Cant Stop The Rain

This is new york, yo
(its getting dark)
Night falls on the city
Finds me all alone
Makes me wonder
Should I just go on home
And I walk up the stairs
To see if youre sill there
Would you mind if
I found you alone
Then a cold wind came callin
Strange how it knew itd bother me
See the night would fade
But the pains gonna stay
Makes me wonder
Have you ever made love to me
I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin strikes across the sky
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin only blinds my eyes
Aint it sad
When the only love I ever had
Just slips away
Right through my fingers
Aint it a shame when I think of your name
The only memory I have is it
I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin strikes across the sky
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
It takes a witch to curse that goddamn sky
I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
Lightnin strikes across the sky
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
cause lightnin only blinds my eyes
Oh, I cant stop the rain, here it comes again
cause lightnin only blinds my eyes
Cant stop it, blinds my eyes

Staying At Home...

amidst the heavy rain
beneath the roof we built
beside our walls
and on the surface of the warmth
of our floors
we habituate on this house
that with love and compassion
we are humble enough
to call our
home.

Listening To Rain Thoughts

Lying in bed, listening
To nature groan overhead;
Heavily rain does fall
Drip by drip inside my wall,
This house so old
Has leaks - as does my soul.

Voiceless thoughts pour from the clouded sky
Creating water drops
Learning how to fly,
It showers down in crazy sheets, as
I lie and listen
To the strange things it speaks.

Lightning flashes
Thunder slashes -
The whirlwind opens many things,
With such wild wonders it brings.

A spate of mystery
Floods across history;
Things up
Things down
Things lost...
And things so found.

Snakes slither
Owls fly
People work and work
As together we move ever along,
All on our own way to die.
Some see the light
Some fear the dark
Through it all
God plays more than just a mere part.

All across the land
The four-winds increasingly blow,
While on the great waters
Wonderous waves continue to grow...
...(far off, somewhere, the rain does end,
for in the final analysis, God shall win.)

Still, now, the rains do fall.
As worms crawl, birds eat good
And so much appears to be
Just as it should.
But inside, the old house continues to leak
And the rotting floor creaks,
For I and the house are one,
And shall be until
The returning of the sun.

The sky drizzles gray
With another unlit day, as
Distant thunder rolls... far away.
The melancholy rain drips inside the pane,
The storm has slowed, but
When will it finally go...

Somehow I begin to see, dimly through the glass,
The faintest break in the overcast...
I fear it only an illusion,
It has been raining for so long that
I had dared to dread,
Perhaps the sun was indeed dead.

Like a stray dog
Looking for a bone
Like a drifter
Looking for a home,
Hope for what yet is to be found
Is what keeps our feet on dry ground.

So, I'll just walk along side Jesus
In this old driving rain
Let people look at us
Like we are quite insane,
For we've no need of
Umbrella or hat
No worldly garb
No none of that,
No pretentious show
No dogma to follow
No wasted words
Empty and hollow,
Together, with all the rest who care to listen,
We'll come to hear something new:
The sound of singing,
Out of the clear blue!
And eventually we shall find,
Beyond these old clouds,
The approaching sunshine.

Inside and Back Out

A forest encircles the lawn,
the lawn encircles sheets of English ivy,
the ivy encircles the walls of a house,
the house encircles its furnishings,
the furniture encircles a family
the family sits on the furniture,
the furniture completes the house,
the house is cuddled by walls,
the walls are warmed by English ivy,
the ivy loathes the horizontal lawn,
the lawn pines to be a forest.

Another Sleepless Night

another sleepless night
another messy portion of my life
you cannot fill me up like you are the air
getting inside my big and wide-open window

but there is no rain no one coming

like i am a tree without leaves
like i am night train without a passenger
listening to its sounds not thinking where to go

Retrace

in Dumaguete
at 4 o'clock in the morning
you went out of the ship to take a walk along
the boulevard: an old one
with a story to tell
the one that you like to hear
again and again

this time
the heavy rains intervened
forgivable as it is the first heavy rain in the city
for the past five months

people stand along the side
of the covered pathway
watching
the rain

you sit on one of those benches
where breakfast is served
cheap

fish and rice and coffee
the roof leaks
and drops of rain begins to hit
your shoulder

a man beside you
with some tattoo on his arms
looks at you like you are the man whom
he had been searching
all the years of his life

you stare back
sort of saying
you are not afraid
for this encounter

he looks away knowing that you also know
what betrayal is
what a war is
what killing fields are

he sidesteps your gaze
unzips his fly
and urinates pointing to the heavy rain

this is pure disrespect to the rain
you stop eating
brace the rain beyond the roof
bathes there
and walks away from there

this world is not absurd
it is logical
it knows when to stop and to begin again
when to stare back
when to back off and when to retrace its steps
along the boulevard

now the stories are becoming clear
and then the rain stops
you remember that was the song
precisely the lyrics are intact

but what for? you ask again
over and over again

you are so foolish.

Let me Rain! ! !

Oh! God,
It is still raining,
And I am still praying.
Not for the rain to stop,
But for the ray of hope -
That rains through the rain.

Let it rain! Let it rain!
Through my panes
Into my pains.

So that,
I shall rain
In the summer.

Rain

'RAIN'
Rain what a nice name!
From the sky falling dauntlessly like drops of water
Sometimes the rain falls with thunder and sometimes not.
Oh how I feel to see the rain!
From my window I see the rain
And people with umbrellas and so on
Hundreds of people come out and see the rain.
Oh we enjoy rain
But now the thunder blows and falls with ice!
We get scared!
Rain in the seas and oceans,
The sailors are busy
And away moves the ships with gusty wind and thunder.
The rain gives us shower
And we get pleasure!
The rain fulfills our wishes and arises with rays of new hopes! ! !
