The Law.....
the law is the mold
where we are supposed to take shape
as though we are water or air
and it is the vessel, and
the vessel after we have been shaped
to its likeness
from its mouth tries to tell the world
that here we are
happily married to the prescribed form
all, uniform, all so cruelly shaped
to the likeness of everyone
and those who complained about the pain
is met by the adage at the gate
dura lex, sed lex
dura lex, sed lex.

In Likeness of You!!!
My dearest friend
And in likeness of you
And in all that you've done
And all that I will do!
You are my mentor,
my anchor, and my sail
And in likeness of you
Your dreams will prevail.
A song so upbeat,
positive and true.
I do this to honor
The likeness of you.

The World Is A Sacred Vessel
'The world is a sacred vessel...' Thomas Merton
blue vessel
in black vacuum
miracle world
encircling
thrall of this perfect star
sacred vessel,
His living cup
to beloved proffered,
wedding gift
beyond measure.

The Vessel That I am!
I am a weak vessel.
Strengthen me, O Lord!
Help me fill up to the brim
With virtues of all sorts.
I am a small vessel.
Make me hold more, O Lord!
Take away my porosity;
Let things remain intact.
I am a clay vessel.
Polish my sides, O Lord!
Let me stand most splendidly,
Glorifying my God.
I am a mere vessel,
Distorted somewhat, O Lord!
Place me on a rocky base,
To show the world my class!
The vessel whatever that I am
Will serve Thee only, Lord.
Fill me up with thy grace, O God
To prove that I’m fine clod!

Sonnet LX: Transfigured Life
As growth of form or momentary glance
In a child's features will recall to mind
The father's with the mother's face combin'd,—
Sweet interchange that memories still enhance:
And yet, as childhood's years and youth's advance,
The gradual mouldings leave one stamp behind,
Till in the blended likeness now we find
A separate man's or woman's countenance:—
So in the Song, the singer's Joy and Pain,
Its very parents, evermore expand
To bid the passion's fullgrown birth remain,
By Art's transfiguring essence subtly spann'd;
And from that song-cloud shaped as a man's hand
There comes the sound as of abundant rain.

Landscape 28 Meniscus
The molecules of water are held together
By weak electrical forces
That extend in all directions.
At the water surface, the upward forces,
Having nowhere watery to go,
Lie along the surface
To form a thin skin, called a meniscus.
This is the skin that holds water drops,
Supports water striders,
Even skips stones.
I came once to an Adirondack Lake
On a still moonlit night.
The lake seemed full of fireflies,
Flashes of light in the water
As far as the eye could see.
I finally discovered the source of the light,
The sudden movements of water striders
Riding the meniscus
Bent the water surface
Into a curved mirror
That reflected glimmers of moonlight.
The Japanese make a flower arrangement
In a vessel with a perfectly level rim.
The vessel is filled with water
To a level above the rim
The water is held from overflowing
By a curved meniscus
That bends light like a lens.
In the center of the water
Floats a single perfect flower
That sends tiny ripples across the water surface
And crinkles the meniscus
When the vessel is vibrated.

Within this Earthen Vessel
WITHIN this earthen vessel are bowers and groves,
and within it is the Creator:
Within this vessel are the seven oceans
and the unnumbered stars.
The touchstone and the jewel-appraiser are within;
and within this vessel the Eternal soundeth,
and the spring wells up.
Kabîr says:
'Listen to me, my Friend!
My beloved Lord is within.'
Alphabetic Inspiration
When all else fails
The Economists look to
The alphabets for inspiration
Will the economic recovery be V shaped?
Yes indeed, say the very optimistic
With the stimulus package
There is only one way
That world economy can go and it is up
Not really, say the less convinced
It will probably be U shaped
The down-turn will stay for sometime
Before it slowly climbs up once more
Then come the zigzag theorists
The shape is more likely to be a W they cry
The economy having gone down
Will first go up and then down again
Before moving up with more confidence
Last but not least, are the die-hard pessimists
They believe that the mother of all depressions
Will not end in a hurry and have forecast an L shape
Meaning that, having gone down
The economy will stabilise at the current bottom
Given that the theories have so far
Centred around only four
Of the twenty-six alphabets
There is still plenty of scope for further
Alphabetic inspiration.

a dura lex(sed lex) glass is different
it does not easily break
despite the series of falls
but once when you hit the
point of its most vulnerability
it breaks into pieces that
more or less
take the shape of diamonds
just like you when you go into
the most seldom sobs
diamonds are the shapes of
your precious tears

Ontological Insecurity
because you see me as
an instrument i have become
a spoon to you
sometimes a cup
you take a bite and you
pour something hot
and cold in my
vessel shaped soul
i have long wanted
that you see me as a body
a man
a person walking tall with my
dignity intact like
a belt around my waist
do not forget i am an individual
i have dreams
and i have pride
do not give me another name
i have been christened
and my name will always be
mine alone.

Restrict the wants to things in hand
The milk that is not full in a vessel
Can be full in an exact vessel
And even spill over from a smaller one.
Your want is the vessel and things, the milk.

Bottled At The Source
Approaching the oasis this thirsty pairing
A ragged beggar and a snake charmer
Noticed an oddly shaped ominous cloud
Which seemed to be hovering overhead__
Ready for a much needed refreshing drink
They cupped their hands and took aim at the water's surface
But before they could break the tension of the mirror like pond
Their eyes beheld what appeared to be the reflection
Of an utterly demonic yet spiritual creature....
Fearing to take a drink as the water may be poisoned
The beggar behooves and begs pardon for his intrusion
While the snake charmer drinks because he had seen
The devil's face before and had charmed many serpents
The snake charmers thirst was uncontrollable and so it was
He scooped up all his hands could hold and drank fully
Within seconds of quenching his parched throat
He grabbed at it and as if to be strangling himself
He fell face down in the liquid dose and did not move
The beggar fearful and pleading for his life to be spared
Fell on his back petitioning God to deliver him from a similar fate
.....and at that very moment the oddly shaped ominous cloud
Opened up its vessel and from it poured a drink of rain
Into the beggar's mouth....until the heavenly gift was fully evaporated
The beggar now having been revived...
Sits up and taking notice of the snake charmer's status
Robs him of his sandals and his cloak___

The yin yang moon
Hung upon the sky
Weaves the web of stars
Down the water glide
A half created vessel I am - they say
Measuring sand in my body grain
Flat forehead upward hope sunk unsung
I’ll starve my eyes on Milky waves
Glaring at those lines divine
No I will not be a half created vessel
Lying under the bags of clouds
No I will not be a half created vessel
I’ll be a mermaid of the sky
Embedding the last floating cry

Advice, like water, takes the form of the vessel which it is poured into.
Hello Silver Friend
A knife is a nonjudgmental friend.
A friend that I could always turn to in need.
Its welcoming shine, its sharp edge teases me, begs me
It whines begging on its handle 'Use me! Use me! I can take all your pain away! '
'I don't judge you; you can be yourself around me always.'
I want to succumb and allow my over welling emotions to pour out of me
I want to rid myself of this intense gilt, sadness, anger, worthlessness
Watch with childlike glee as my pain drips down my skin
What is skin really?
An immense vessel holding all our emotions and organs.
Sometimes the vessel needs to be punctured to release negative moods
Negative moods that push up against the vessel straining to escape
Hello silver friend it's nice to see you again.
yours truly,
A worthless not mention failure of a daughter

A Clay Vessel
The Lord has taken a vessel like me, and shaped it for an eternity.
An empty, cracked vessel like this, He has filled with Eternal Bliss.
All my sin, Christ has set apart, as God began a work in my heart.
He cleansed me first of all my sin, then He started a change within.
I am molded by God’s loving hand, in ways I may not understand.
God’s the potter and I’m the clay, to be molded in His perfect way.
Who am I to even think or say, in suggesting to God a better way?
For God lifted me out of the mire, to shape my life per His desire.
We are created for God’s pleasure, as part of His Eternal treasure.
We are given a New Life to glorify, Jesus Christ, who lives on high.
We’re here to serve The Living God, on this temporal earth we trod.
Friend, in this life, I can not ill afford, to question the will of my Lord.
God has my life under His control, along with every other living soul.
I’m just a tiny part of God’s plan, to bring His Salvation to every man.
And I am blessed as God uses me, in pointing other men to eternity.
To the cross of His Son Jesus Christ, the eternal author of every life.
God knows the plans He has for me, sure plans for future prosperity.
It may not seem to be of worth, compared to the values of this earth.
But as a part of God’s pleasure, He’s storing for me eternal treasure.
So one thing that I can surely say; I am so blessed to be God’s Clay.
By The Locks Of My Hair
The likeness of peace and the likeness of love,
And by the locks of my hair to be with you;
However, the heavens looked down upon me and,
The earth raised me up so high! !
And like the joy of the roamnce of love,
But today, i will dedicate my heart to you.

First Encounter - Salleh ben Joned
indeed we are shaped
by the world
good or bad
letting the malayness
in him rise
in every occasion
all naturally
that psyche shaped
over thousands of years
refusing to let others
tell him what
a malay should be
a ship steering his way
in the worst of storm

Reflections On The Water
A Blue cloud
shaped like a bird
spreading its wings
on the water,
a clover leaf falls
creating some ripples
a fish jumping
trying to reach an
odd shaped flying
insect,
my face is crooked
waving like
a silk scarf
reflections of
half truths but
naked still
