The Habit
the habit is an epoxy
attaching a part of my thoughts
to your thoughts
yet somehow there is no spark
of understanding
like a star bursting
and so everyday as the sun rises
killing the shadows of leaves
in my mind
i keep taking track of what happens
a word stands as a boundary
a punctuation marks
a departure
and there are questions like guards
and sentries of
the parapet
there are birds unable to fly from the
hammocks of the mind
there are works unable to come out
from the hollows of the heart
and so the journey to another desert
with the camel and the
carpet starts all over again
there is no end
this habit has no purpose but to satisfy
what i do not know

It’s not unable, it’s just not a favor
It’s not unable, it’s just reluctance
It’s not unable, it’s just not my style
It’s not unable, it’s just wrong
It’s not unable, it’s just no time
It’s not unable, it’s just out of place
It’s not unable, it’s just not consideration
It’s not unable, it’s just objection

Our Thoughts May Survive
creativity and thoughts
appear from nowhere
creativity and thoughts
are like that spark came
from us was part of us
yet may survive beyond us
long after we have gone
our thoughts may survive
thoughts like children
scatter from our mind
thoughts were part of us?
thoughts came from us?
thoughts live beyond us?
thoughts live on after us?

I Am As Nothing.
I am as nothing, said Sister Clare;
I am a tool in the Lord’s hands, His
Words wake me from sleep, His
Utterance disperses my dreams.
I wake to the birds’ chorus, the sun
Rises at my elbow, the moon goes
As my eyes take sight. I dress while
Uttering an Ave, wash the night from
My eyes and skin, sense the waters’
Coldness through my fingers’ hold.
From my window I see the cranberry
Tree in the cloister garth; early birds
Perched in the branches, sunlight
Flittering through the green leaves.
Sister Blaise stares up at the sky, her
Hands hidden beneath her habit’s cloth,
Her head to one side. God sees all, my
Mother said, He knows you better than
You know yourself, knows your thoughts
Like a well read book, He understands
Your ways and wants, marks your sins
In the big black book. I leave my room,
Walk down the stairs to the cloister’s
Path, run my palm on the wall’s rough
Brick, my feet taking the steady step,
My blue eyes lowered, my thoughts run
Off like children at play. I gather my
Thoughts like a shepherd his sheep,
I pen them tight into my skull’s sides.
Flowers in the flowerbeds pull my eyes,
Yellows and reds and blues feed my mind.
Sister Rose stands by the bell, her hands
Holding the rough rope, her eyes lit up like
Candles at night, her smile like a child’s kiss.
I pass her by with a gentle nod, taking note
Of her fingers’ hold. I enter the church with
A steady pace, smell incense on the air’s skin;
See sunlight through high windows, beaming
Down on the choir stalls and cold stone floor.
I sit and wait for matins to begin, wait for my
Bruised groom carrying the whole world’s sin.

A Camel
A camel
That walks alone
Across the desert unending
Has no pretentions.
Every camel is so.
A camel
That has a hump large and
A physique strong
Is a marvel to none.
No marvel at all.
A camel
Treads before me at times
Leaving a track to follow and
I carry my small luggage
No caravan is seen.
A camel,
A desert,
A track and
Me.
There is a breeze blowing from somewhere!

A Thought Within a Heart
I held her in my heart with great affection
To my thoughts she claimed so much
Would I call this love, I am unable to answer
But it began the start of a dreamless romance
That I would never come to witness
I am unable to understand the workings of love
How the heart picks at random its choices
I only accept the madness of such affection
The call of such passion that echoes
From the heart and to the mind it flows
The words and thoughts of what we name love
Or infatuation or desire it is all unclear
But one thing is guaranteed ever present
That in our own presence is a being of such beauty
One who makes us question everything
One who makes us dream of such passion
And here in the sway of a hearts singing
The mind and soul become lost undone
In the loving of a new loves beginning
Or the continuation of something well known
Take nothing for granted and be understanding
For love shall provide many an annoyance
But I am at a loss in my own explanation
To what I felt or feel, should I feel it still
A girl of great beauty and wonderful nature
A girl with kind heart, naive in her trusting
I would wish her to be happy, but not change her
So is this love, infatuation or the beginning
Of something that is yet to be decided

Thoughts Mind Soul Echoes
thoughts like children
scatter from our mind
thoughts were part of us?
thoughts came from us?
thoughts live beyond us?
thoughts outlive our lives?
thoughts mind soul echoes
haunting fragments of mind
light shines through prisms
separates into colour bands
thought trails sunset colours
spectrum ribbons thoughts
spiral into keen conceptions
meaning insight discriminates

Background Noise
I can't hear the beat of my heart over
The mindless background noise of the present.
The buzzing hums of endless exposure
Disconnect me from myself. I'm absent.
I'm an empty shell, thoughts superimposed.
My mind is deafened by dross and debris,
Glossy detriments just tossed and disposed
By some automated machinery.
The saturated sounds flood, drowning out
My soul. I sink in the ceaseless droning
Of modern life. I'm left unable to shout—
Lungs bursting—for a trace of meaning—
Something with purpose, something dynamic.
The response that I receive is static.

For Them It's Automatic
People lie and they like it...
Just that way.
People lie out of habit,
Like a sport...
To play!
It is in their eyes as if there's something to hide!
And there are those people lieing to defy with denying.
People lie and they like it...
Everyday.
People lie out of habit,
And it's here to stay!
It's in their eyes as if there's something to hide!
And there are those people lieing defying to deny,
They are lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
People lie and they like it...
Just that way.
Lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
People lie and they like it...
Everyday.
Lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
People lie and they like it...
Just that way.
Lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
It's in their eyes as if there's something to hide!
Lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
People lie and think,
They're in disguise.
And lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
People lie and think,
They're in disguise.
And lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.
And lieing out of habit since for them it's automatic.

I Can' Let Go
Would You Believe
The Hollies
I Can't Let Go
(Chip Taylor/Al Gorgoni)
Single release february 1966 and track 12 (final)
on album 'Would You Believe' June 1966.
{guitar intro on overmuted G-chord}
Oh I try and I try but I can't say goodbye.
Feel so bad, baby.
Oh, it hurts me
when think of how you lovin' desert me.
I'm the broken-hearted toy you play with, baby.
You got me going (I can't let go)
I need you, baby.
I can't let go, and I want you, baby (and I want you, baby)
I got a habit you know: I can't let go.
Though I'm just one of your lovers,
and I know there are so many others,
you do something strange to me, baby, baby, baby, baby.
You got me going (I can't let go)
I need you, baby.
I can't let go, and I want you, baby (and I want you, baby)
I got a habit you know: I can't let go.
{intro replayed}
I try and I try but I can't say goodbye.
Know that it's wrong and I should be so strong
but the thought of you gone makes me want to hold on.
{guitar interlude}
You got me going (I can't let go)
I need you, baby.
I can't let go, and I want you, baby (and I want you, baby)
I got a habit you know: I can't let go.
You got me going (I can't let go)
I need you, baby.
I can't let go, and I want you, baby (and I want you, baby)
I got a habit you know: I can't let go.
I can't let go.
I can't let go.
{fade out}
I can't let go.
I can't let go ...

Death
The journey of death, I think of dying as it were
a sleeping process which it brings our thoughts
the illusion of angel's, heaven, clouds and paradise,
we see ourselves in a utopia dream world,
that brings us peace and harmony. Death is a
sad word; a word that is continually present with
melancholy thoughts that haunts the mind. I always
dismiss it from my mind, but always comes back.
It's there always trying to torment me, maybe if death
wasn't so enigmatic and dreadful, our thoughts would
change. We wouldn't think about it at all. When I think
of the old age, is like thinking, death is near, it's the
nearest thing to old age. Death, death is like a cold
and lonely sigh, Death, it comes like thieves in the
night, it takes you and it wont give you a notice nor a
warning. A deep anguish takes over our feelings;
death is a sad word, An empty sensation and a huge
grief, that torture's the soul and mind. Death we can't
defeated, escape or make it null. A reminder each
day that time will eventually stop and become eternal.
Death the only sure thing we inherit from the second
we are born, death, death, I cannot comprehend the
purpose to all, we struggle in our journey in every way,
to at the end, become dust in the wind, and then after
time has past, not even a vestige of us.

Keep Smile
Keep smile while you're climbing the highest mountains and so soon you'll arrive
Keep trying never give up
With honesty and strong faith you will never loose your ways
Keep the smile upon the face
And actually you will find out the strength
The strength of the honestly purified with the innoceny of smile
The hope will save your ways just keep the pure smile upon your face
Just a smile its enough to keep all the doors unlocked through hardest journey's of life
When you're lost and left alone
Just smile and you're half way home
When the hope leaves your life never cry keep your soul away from all those dark fears
Never you can find the light if you allow the negative thoughts to occupy your mind
With the time you'll become their slave unaware
Be aware of the negative thoughts to not become with the time your best habit
Keep smile and make the positive thoughts your friends throughout of all your roads.

The Class Muses
The class muses as they gather
The like ones do flock together
They stroll through each verse
Unable to swallow many words
Be it a sonnet or an elegy
It sure makes an empathy
But doesn't go so deep
Yet do not seek any help
It makes their heart ache
Though they jerk and shake
But thoughts are to go deep
Yet some prefer to go asleep
A teacher can't be rude
Nor can he so elude
It is an art to enter
Where the thoughts wander
I do wonder how at times
Some grab thoughts at once
They sure are more receptive
But others are so deceptive
Neither can poetry be learnt
Nor can poetry be taught
By the mastery of the mind
But by mystery of the heart

In the Spirit of Rumi-39-The Desert
As the cool dawn brings the light
to the desert where the blue-white sky
meets the sand that time and man have brought,
and you wake the camel boy
to lead the camels from the waterside –
before you mount the lurching beast
and sway off into the desert on your path,
the camel-bells tinkling on the harness,
look into the camel’s eyes.
There you will see mingled,
pride in its being; patience in its duty.
The wise men say that God is found
where opposites meet and are resolved.
Proud in its being, patient in its duty –
no great wonder, then, that the camel
has been chosen of God to take you
across the desert of your destiny in faith and trust;
for in the world of metaphor, where man meets God
in the mind’s own language,
the camel is your body; dutiful proud servant
for the journey you must take; your company
for the length of time that journey takes.
So, traveller, when you reach the green and cool oasis
at the ending of the day’s sufficient journey -
first tie your camel by the waters of refreshment
before you kneel; for food; for prayer; then
resting in the bright-eyed company;
the eyes of those who scan the round horizon as they ride
and wonder always, what oasis lies beyond.

I Choose To Be Your Moon
i always console myself with the idea that i am not
at all alone
there are too many of me, of us, that we all become one boring
brew of liquefied images
coffee flowing on the carpet and wetting it and there is a fume
and the dust are captured on the stains
what i feel now is the feeling that i do not want anything at all
that i just write what comes to my mind
without choosing
and i am bombarded with thoughts and i am always on a defensive stance
a recipient always, passive and relaxed
things that come like rain to an empty earthen vessel
gives that feeling of fullness
which is too pacifying to the weary mind
then the vessel is filled with water and water pours out its liquid body
to the ground
to the grass to the canals racing to another path
we try to follow it
it has myriad options and we are at a loss which way shall it be
words are like that
they pour upon our void
others are blind and keep on talking about
hair and heads and hands
it is just myself that feel
emptying and filling and running and taking the journey again
what you see is the stillness of the body
a shadow on the wall
the night and rain sometimes come together
i choose to be your moon
and you are there looking at me
i am full, your gaze empties me
into a profusion of gentle dancing light
on your face
i never said a word
in the silence of my own understanding
you are so far away like a fallen star.

Her Only Bad Habit Is Me
We walk hand in hand
through our world today.
We will walk that way forever,
if bad habits don’t get in the way.
Now she has only one bad habit,
and that habit is me.
If I do something wrong,
she does not see my failing there.
She would rather go on loving,
the man she chose to care.
Now my bad habit shine like a beckon,
but she does not really care.
So though we wander with love,
through to the sunset somewhere.
I think of how lucky I am,
with everything I see.
So glad she has only one bad habit,
and that habit is me.

I Also Know How To Keep Misgivings
in my patience
i also learned how to keep misgivings
like a sponge
i absorb everything that wets me
everyday
i keep the secrets of my life
adding them and putting them all together
how hurt i am
how i keep the pains like they were precious gems
in my secret pockets
of my memories
i do not complain
i have no reasons to support them
except that
i have surrendered myself in the name of love
someday i will be full
like a cup unable to keep the foam
overflowing
i will not burst like a balloon
i will not explode like a bomb
you know me very well
in my passive silence
there will be no wars or unkind word uttered
there will be no questions
i will just take my long vacation
taking all my necessary belongings
with a note
that never will i be coming back
i always think of a new life
i always have in mind another new beginning
there in the place where i can breathe freely
finally without you

To Be Fully Human!
hand to hand, brother,
our backs against the wall.
with nothing left to cling to...
but each other!
mind to mind, sister,
your thoughts free my thoughts,
my thoughts affirm yours....
understanding is the bridge....
heart to heart, my friend,
we are joined by the destiny
for which we were born....
love is the motion.
soul to soul, my family,
if you hurt i hurt,
if i need you need...
one hope, one desire....
to be fully human!

Incarceration
In the darkest corner, I hide,
afraid of my inner thoughts
that no one will ever hear.
My pen resists the urges to write them down
as misunderstood they would be.
Afraid the sins of my mind
will spill out to others too.
They remain trapped within
a tormented mind unable
to escape to fruition,
which is better that way.
Least there they cannot
tarnish other saintly minds.
Inside they must dwell
until my body decays
and my mind no longer
thinks of urges to play
on the innocent of heart.

Watch Out
Watch your eyes
it may see reactions
Watch your reaction
it may enthuse emotions
Watch your emotion
it may compose thoughts
Watch your thought
it may become words
Watch your word
it may become a habit
Watch your habit
it may become character
Watch your character
it may become your identity
Finally, watch your identity
it may become your fate
