The Freedom You See...
outside freedom waits
it is not naked like the way they draw it on paper
or sculpt in marble or mold with the plaster of
Paris,
in fact it is well dressed, light sneakers,
straw hat, and a travel bag,
ready to grab the exit
from here
it is not the opening of any door
or the breaking of seals and locks
it is the ready heart, the opening arms
it is a pair of imaginary wings
but it is calm, well composed
gentle, and
not outspoken.

Buddhist Lesson # 2
enlightment,
the act of opening,
like a rosebud,
like a mother,
opening the door...
like a child
opening a present,
like a woman
opening to a man....
opening...
all the hidden chambers,
every door to every
secret kingdom of the soul.....
opening the box that holds
your secret thoughts, desires....
opening...
the door of the cage,
letting the winged breath fly....
opening....
your heart to itself,
and to all hearts beating....
opening....
the vault of conceptions,
the entrance to the tomb
of past lives and memories....
opening...
your hands to the world
as if it were your neighbor,
and you, it's home!

Birth Energy
I am opening
I am opening up
Birth energy
Be my teacher
Birth energy
Heal my fears
Teach me trust
Teach me compassion
Walk me into the darkness
And into your light
Birth energy
You are woman
Birth energy
Within the man
Ever constant
Ever changing
Let your winds blow
Rock me in your storm
Let the bough break
Let me fall
Into your arms
It is you I trust
When I say
Im trusting love
Invocation:
I stand among the sisters of the moon
I am held by the creator of the world
I am opening
I am unbounded
I am luminous
I am powerful
I surrender to this power
Life and newness are continued and
Renewed through me
You are the ocean
I ride upon your waves
I am opening
I am blown apart by your caress
I surrender to you
I embrace you
I am ready now to sing the moon
To be her voice
I am the singer
And life is her song
I sing creation
I sing joy and pain
Beginning and ending
Giving and taking
Existence
Goddess
I embrace you
I am opening
I am opening up

Are You Ready?
Are you ready, are you ready?
Are you ready, are you ready?
Are you ready to meet jesus?
Are you where you ought to be?
Will he know you when he sees you
Or will he say, depart from me?
Are you ready, hope youre ready.
Am I ready, am I ready?
Am I ready, am I ready?
Am I ready to lay down my life for the brethren
And to take up my cross?
Have I surrendered to the will of god
Or am I still acting like the boss?
Am I ready, hope Im ready.
When destruction cometh swiftly
And theres no time to say a fare-thee-well,
Have you decided whether you want to be
In heaven or in hell?
Are you ready, are you ready?
Have you got some unfinished business?
Is there something holding you back?
Are you thinking for yourself
Or are you following the pack?
Are you ready, hope youre ready.
Are you ready?
Are you ready for the judgment?
Are you ready for that terrible swift sword?
Are you ready for armageddon?
Are you ready for the day of the lord?
Are you ready, I hope youre ready.

Out In The Open
They were the sweetest words I'd ever heard
My heart could barely take it in
Like water offered to the lips
Of a tired and thirsty man
Cuz it's a tangled web of woven
I don't know all the reasons
But it amazes me to wake up
To your mercy every morning
So I'm standing here spinning around
In the fields of freedom
And I'm still alive and reaching out
And I can feel the healing
Cuz you say
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out
Out in the open
Come on out come on out
Come on out come onout
Into the light
There is no jury
There is no judge
Ready and waiting
Are the steady arms of love 124
For the sake of never making waves I
Kept my secrets to myself
And no one ever really knew the
Darker shadows of my heart
But I will be a witness
That there's nothing in me dark enough
The power of forgiveness
Cannot resuce from the deep
So I'm standing here spinning around
In the fields of freedom
And I'm still alive and reaching out
And I can feel the healing
And you say
Come on out come out
Come on out come out
Out in the open
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out
Into the light
There is no jury
There is no judge
Ready and waiting
Are a steady arms of love 240
Hey
And I'm standing here spinning around
In the fields of freedom
And I'm still alive
And reaching out
And I can feel the healing
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out
Out in the open
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out
Into the light
There is no jury
There is no judge
Ready and waiting
Are the steady arms of love
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out
Out in the open
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out
Into the light
Come on out come on out
Come on out come on out

Ready To Fly
I've been trying to open the door
To the secret of my destiny
And every new road I think is the one
Seems to lead right back to me
I've looked for a way to be wiser
A way to be strong
Now I see the answer was hiding
In me all along
Chorus:
And I'm ready to fly
Over the sun
Like a rocket to heaven
And I'm ready to soar
Right through the sky
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high
I've always had wings
But I wasn't ready to fly
Restless, hopeless, and misunderstood
Like so many others I know
So busy tryin' to keep holdin' on
When I should've been letting go
I was given the gift to find it
The spirit inside me
But I never really imagined
All I could be
Chorus:
And I'm ready to fly
Over the sun
Like a rocket to heaven
And I'm ready to soar
Right through the sky
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high
I've always had wings
But I wasn't ready to fly
The answer to all of my wonder
Was right in my hands
Now it's time for me to discover
All that I am
Chorus:
And I'm ready to fly
Over the sun
Like a rocket to heaven
And I'm ready to soar
Right through the sky
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high
I've always had wings
But I wasn't ready to fly
I've always had wings
Now I'm finally ready to fly

Loud Is The Cry Of War
Loud is the cry of war
Many people shall it smite
Opening up death's dark door
Our people shaken to the core
As we feel our enemies bite
Loud is the cry of war
Many soldiers now implore
If this battle was worth the fight
Opening up death's dark door
Many hearts lie broken and torn
An Endless number of sleepless nights
Loud is the cry of war
Crowded will be heaven's shore
As the dead now take their heavenly flight
Opening up death's dark door
Although we won, we lost much more
As empty cries echo through the night
Opening up death's dark door
Loud is the cry of was

An Intruder 4
I am not superstitious. In the least.
But I found his suggestion to reach inside the nest-
However shambley-grab the eggs and sow them in the vacant lot next door
Over the rail, you know, among the standing tares and purple thistles
(Opening Nature's ring...slipping in the non-conducting link,
So to speak) wierd.
Barbaric. Unlucky. Un-nerving. Contra naturam. All that.
Also a bit crude.
And certain to have the same unwholesome effect
As opening an umbrella in the house, say, or
Failing to say 'gesundheit' when somebody sneezes,
Allowing a black cat to race across your path,
Separating twins and other indiscretions
Popularly (and, so, indisputably) held
To conduit disaster.
This, I recalled, was the new millenium. There
Was only one thing to do-get a second opinion.
'From many, one.' The more the merrier.
So I called my other friend Grey Wolf-
Part Shoshone-who better to ask?
Standing ready to act on his advice, which came quickly:
'Don't be silly, ' he said 'leave 'em alone, ' adding,
A little hungrily, I thought, 'unless you're going to eat them, that is.'
Fair advice.
So that was that.....

Heart To Heart
This song appears on four albums, and was first released on the seasons of the heart album. it has also been released on the very best of john denver (double cd), the country roads collection an
Country classics albums.
I havent seen all there is to see
But Ive seen quite a bit
Some things Ill always remember
Some things I wish that I could forget
I havent quite been around the world
But Ive been around the block
I know that distances are meaningless
Like the hands that move around a clock
And I know that love is everywhere
Always safe, always true
And exactly where it comes from
Is where its going to
Your heart to mine
My heart to yours
Talk about opening windows
Talk about opening doors
My heart to yours
Your heart to mine
Love is a light that shines
From heart to heart
Here I am sitting in old hong kong
The harbor and the lights
Theyre like diamonds in the heavens
Enough to brighten the darkest of nights
Theres another side to sorrow
As there is to everything
Like the other side of lonely
Is falling in love again
And then you know that theres an answer
To the suffering we see
And though it isnt easy
Its still as simple as you and me
And youll know that love is everywhere
Always safe, always true
And exactly where it comes from
Is where its going to
Your heart to mine
My heart to yours
Talk about opening windows
Talk about opening doors
My heart to yours
Your heart to mine
Love is a light that shines
From heart to heart
Your heart to mine
My heart to yours
Talk about opening windows
Talk about opening doors
My heart to yours
Your heart to mine
Love is a light that shines
From heart to heart

Were Ready
Im ready for more
The feelin now that Im beside you
Well open the door
Do anything that we decide to
And I know that theres something thats just out of sight
And I feel like Im finally seeing the light
Holdin on girl I know its right
I know its right
Were ready!
You and i
Well find a reason
To simplify a change of season
And I feel like its time we were off on our way
We can go so much farther than weve come today
Holdin on girl and come what may
Come what may
Were ready! cmon
We can find a way
Were ready now
Catchin a wave to ride on
Steady now
Headin where we decide on
And I know that theres something thats just out of sight
And I feel like were trying to do something right
Come on make it if we hold on tight
Hold on tight
Were ready! cmon were ready
Were ready
Were ready, 1...2...3...4...
We can find a way. were ready now, oooh were ready now.
Were ready now.

Plaster Caster
Babys getting anxious, the hours getting late
The night is almost over, she cant wait
Oh, things are complicating, my love is in her hands
And theres no more waiting, she understands
The plasters gettin harder and my love is perfection
A token of my love for her collection, her collection
Plaster caster, grab a hold of me faster
And if you wanna see my love, just ask her
And my love is the plaster
And yeah, shes the collector
She wants me all the time to inject her
The plasters gettin harder and my love is perfection
A token of my love for her collection
Plaster caster, plaster caster
Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster
And if you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her
Go on, ask her
The plasters gettin harder and my love is perfection
A token of my love for her collection, her collection
Plaster caster, plaster caster
Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster
If you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her
Plaster caster, plaster caster
She wants my love to last her, last her, last her
And she calls me by the name of master, master
Plaster caster, plaster caster
Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster
If you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her
Plaster caster, plaster caster
Grab a hold of me faster, plaster, faster
And if you wanna see my love, just ask her, ask her
Plaster caster, plaster caster

When jesus knocks at my door
Ill be there come morning
Dont weep for me
Ill be with my lord
Theres my Bible on the table
Read it to me once more
I can hear gods heavenly angels
Singing me on through heavens door
Hallelujah lord

Theres A New World Just Opening For Me
Now I know just what Ive been doing wrong,
Life seems empty, but it wont last for long.
I shant go on this way.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
Been alive, but it could be lying down. [? ]
Just cant tell when the devils on the prowl.
I cant pretend no more.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
Win the battle, but the victory brings you pain.
You make confessions, but you do the same again.
I wont go on this way.
Theres a new world just opening for me.
I wont go on this way.

The Theory Of Order And Unity....
in lack in the shortness of our lives
and breaths
when we have vacated what we are
when we have given everything
when we have finally divested ourselves
with what is borrowed
we start to sense the completion of
this mission
letting go those birds from their cages
opening those doors
breaking all the locks
letting in the winds of freedom
erasing the shadows because we have embraced
the light
we we are finally lost into the ocean of this universe
reunited with that Being
then we are perfect
so complete that we do not touch any part of us
because we are part of them
the vastness of
eternity.....

Ready For The End Of The World
I know the end is near:
I've seen the warning signs.
Been preparin' myself,
Layin' in supplies.
I bought a case of Jack,
A boxed-set of Merle:
I'm gettin' ready,
Ready for the end of the world.
I'm gettin' ready for the end to come:
That final hour it all comes undone.
An' she drops the bomb:
An' says he ain't my girl.
I'm gettin' ready,
Ready for the end of the world.
Instrumental break.
My neon shelter waits,
Where I can go to hide.
While the memories burn,
I'll be safe inside.
With the honky-tonk few,
Bracin' for the worst:
I'm gettin' ready,
Ready for the end of the world.
I'm gettin' ready for the end to come:
That final hour it all comes undone.
An' she drops the bomb:
An' says he ain't my girl.
I'm gettin' ready,
Ready for the end of the world.
Yeah, I'll be ready:
Ready for the end of the world.

Ready To Go Home
On the street below these walls
Where I used to walk
Now I can barely crawl
All this darkness rising tall
Lord shine a light for me
Im waiting to be called
Im ready to go home
Im ready to receive
Forgiveness for my sins
Im ready to begin
Take this river to the sea
Where the delta flows
The tide is washing over me
Guide this soul to heavens door
Show me where tomorrow lies
Im waiting to be born
Im ready to lay down
Im ready now to sleep
A promise I must keep
Im ready to go home
So tired I lay down
With these memories
Breathe shallow deep inside of me
If time has run its course with me
Then
Im ready to go home
Im ready to receive
Forgiveness for my sins
Im ready to begin
When the evening shadows fall
When the time has come
Ill let defences fall
To surrenders to survive
I will give up everything
To those I leave behind
Im ready to go home
Im ready to receive
Forgiveness for my sins
Im ready to begin
Im ready to lay down
Im ready now to sleep
A promise I must keep
Im ready to go home
Again
