The Empty Shell On The Abandoned Shores

priding on its big mouth
without teeth and lips
the empty shell sings
about its past, and the
abandoned shore begins
to weep, and the
coconut leaves start to
fall, and the........

world stops to ponder.

The Dentist’s

Your mouth hurts inside for the pain comes from the teeth,
Pain is destructive to the teeth, its gums are bleeding;
Must we learn further help and admiration, or just weep?
First, the aching stops and then the dentist stops,
We all feel murdered, but why?

Firstly, mouths are meant for munching, fully chomping
The food residing in the head, feeding the brain as fast as it can;
We are not dentists, but full doctors, but full nurses,
As hospitals go, we stand firm on our teeth chattering away in the cold.
We felt absurd knowing your teeth.

The main worry was when it made me squirm, and then burn,
Too late, the drill was performed, with too much work,
And that was purity and goodness in the process,
For me, for me, and for those who call themselves the dentist.
We do find teeth a chore, always to be restored.

Coconut Miracle

A coconut bobbed upon the waves
and alighted softly on the sands
of the shore. Years later there
were many coconut palms on the
island. They provided milk for babies,
nut fiber for others, oil for lamps,
coconut shells for dishes, lauric
acid for meditation. Lifegiving
little lakes of milk unstolen from
an animal protected by a hard shell
as transform into heaven
slaughterhouse hells.

Mr Big Toe Meets Melodie Mezoree’

MR Big Toe meets Melodie with her yellow yarn hair,
MR Big Toe introduces himself and shares;
“This is the sunniest time of year,
I welcome you Melodie with good cheer! ”
MR Big Toe smiles and tells her he lives on Coconut Row,
Melodie is surprised, she didn’t know.
Melodie is thankful and introduces herself as Mel,
she tells Big Toe she does warm happy spells.
Melodie begins to speak with a voice so sweet,
MR Big Toe notices Melodie has a mermaid tail with no feet.
“Oh, Big Toe it is so very nice to meet you,
I am a mermaid now and I am scared,
I swam by myself and need to swim with someone who cares
MR Big Toe is very merry and has a glowing spark,
she can help Melodie see in the ocean when dark.
See Melodie has had some frightful times,
she needs a friend that can make her feel safe inside.
MR Big Toe then hands her a shell bracelet that shines
“Oh, thank you Big Toe, you are so kind,
I will fit this shell bracelet on my wrist just fine.”
They both go to the Coconut Bar down the street,
they both sit outside on chairs, they both have no feet.
They both relax and have a Coconut drink,
then time passes and the sun begins to shrink.
Melodie says “Lets go to Krendoll island before the sun goes down, ”
MR Big Toe and Melodie wave goodbye to this cozy Coconut town.

Tiny Girls

Pop/bowie
Well the day begins
You dont want to live
cause you cant believe
In the one youre with
cause you know her tricks
And you know her past
When she makes a face
You just have to laugh
And you feel like such a know-it-all
When you only want just a tiny girl
And you hope shell sing.
So you turn around
Toward the tiny girls
Who have got no tricks
Who have got no past
Yea thats what you think
And you hope shell sing
But she sings of greed
Like a young banshee
And she wants for this
And she wants for that
What did you think.

Le Panneau

Under the rose-tree's dancing shade
There stands a little ivory girl,
Pulling the leaves of pink and pearl
With pale green nails of polished jade.

The red leaves fall upon the mould,
The white leaves flutter, one by one,
Down to a blue bowl where the sun,
Like a great dragon, writhes in gold.

The white leaves float upon the air,
The red leaves flutter idly down,
Some fall upon her yellow gown,
And some upon her raven hair.

She takes an amber lute and sings,
And as she sings a silver crane
Begins his scarlet neck to strain,
And flap his burnished metal wings.

She takes a lute of amber bright,
And from the thicket where he lies
Her lover, with his almond eyes,
Watches her movements in delight.

And now she gives a cry of fear,
And tiny tears begin to start:
A thorn has wounded with its dart
The pink-veined sea-shell of her ear.

And now she laughs a merry note:
There has fallen a petal of the rose
Just where the yellow satin shows
The blue-veined flower of her throat.

With pale green nails of polished jade,
Pulling the leaves of pink and pearl,
There stands a little ivory girl
Under the rose-tree's dancing shade.

Tachycardia

In the chest is caged bat
who seeks escape
through the mouth.

He flaps his wings
& the molars shiver.

He flaps his wings
& the thyroid bulges
like a snake
that has swallowed
a mouse.

He flaps his wings
uttering shrill cries
heard only by the ears
of the teeth.

He wants to soar
into the great world.
He is blind
as a bat.

You must convince him
that the chest
is a cradle
& a room
with a view.

Past the tonsils
lies terror.

Past the teeth
lies death.
Past the lips
lie lies,

lies, lies.

Autumn Leaves

The falling leaves.... pass by my window
The autumn leaves...of red and gold
I see your lips...your summer kisses
The sunburned hands...I used to know
Ummm...since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
Ooooh, but I'll miss you most of all
My darling.... when autumn leaves...
start to fall
Ooooh...... I said I miss you most of all
My darling....when autumn leaves
start to fall............

The Beginning...

we try to link drinking coconut wine
with merry making
specifically, alcohol has a way of
numbing sorrow and making happiness
sprout like mongo seeds from
the sack cloth wet with water
it will be cold but the warmth in our
smiles shall start the fire
what next can we do when sorrow
leaves us?
just say it, perhaps i may oblige
for like you i am in deep mourning for i
have lost a part of me
many years ago, sort of saying, sentimentally
that i am incomplete and hopefully
after this drink and another drink
you may see that i am so empty and needs
to be filled again

do not kiss me yet, my mouth is full.

That Moment...when the Votes were Counted - Parody Ted HUGHES – Crow

When the votes were counted, conform with their little crosses,
with the ballot-boxes lying empty
like empty promises splashed over a Westminster canvas,

and the only independant candidate left in the world
lay broken
in a vice-like grip, not even a token

opposition remained, - gone forever...
candid expression censored forever,

and the body politic hung drawn and quartered by politicians for ever
on an abandoned world among abandoned constitutions,
free thinkers erased together,

even Crow had to start searching for fresh pickings...

Evening Coconut

The statue of liberty is breathing in the air
Atlantis is waiting down below.
Late at night, flashing lights are sighted in the air.
Its no secret, what everybody knows.
It really dont matter much, which way I go.
But remember to pull over in the storm.
Have you seen the evening coconut
Bobbing on the bay?
Standing on the waters edge of stone
Someone there besides you
To hear the words you say
To show you things your eyes have never known.
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
Evening coconut, evening coconut
The statue of liberty is breathing in the air
While atlantis is waiting down below.
Late at night, flashing lights are sighted in the air.
Its no secret, what everybody knows.

Back To Childhood

i pay a visit to Apolonio today
now on his 60th year as tenant of my grandfather's farm

on my 50th year i begin to see the strangeness of the place
where i spent my childhood

the field of plain grass opens a view of a chase
of memories

coconut trees tower to the heights of my dreams
and the winding paths been converted as a wide street leading to the city
of progress and change

Apolonio's teeth are black and broken like a knife with jagged edge
his body emaciated his speech choppy

beside his wife who is already too forgetful about faces
he heaves a sigh and then tries to remember my mischief

hiding his hat and pushing him into the river
as he pastures the carabao that i let loose on the green fields

father was always angry
and mother was too defensive

the wind begins to blow and the clouds turn darker
yellow leaves fall from a very high makopa tree

and then it starts to rain
the rice ponds make the dripping sound of water

we take shelter in the old house where he now lives
his children have long been gone starting their own lives
in some other landlord's lands

he has regrets since not anyone has finished school
he tells that like a mirror to his past

the rain stops and then i bid goodbye
it is late and have no words to say anymore.

Teaser

That womans got a smile
Put you in a trance
And just one look at her
Makes you wanna dance
Those rockin rosy lips
Only passify
Just a hint of ruthlessness
Sparkling in her eye
Shes a teaser, and shes got no heart at all
Shes a teaser, and shell tempt you til you fall
Yeah shell tempt you til you fall
Shell talk to you in riddles
That have no sense or rhyme
And if you ask her what she means
She says, she dont got the time
Shes a teaser, and shes got no heart at all
Shes a teaser, and shell tempt you til you fall
Shes a teaser, and shes got no heart at all
Yeah shell tempt you til you fall
Shes a teaser, and shes got no heart at all

Coconut Telegraph

By: jimmy buffett
1980
For the gang at the fish house
Tuesday on the island
Not much goin on
The parties are all over
They ended just past dawn
The jungle drums are beating
With the tales from late last night
cause stories bear repeating
For everyones delight
Chorus:
You can hear em on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
Cant keep nothin under their hat
You can hear em on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
Sayin who did dis and dat
Dis and dat, dis and dat
Now Im not one to deal in gossip
But was he that big a fool
To do a belly-buster high dive
And miss the entire pool
And what became of sweet melissa
And the boy nobody knew
Did ricardo ever find her
I swear its just between me and you
Chorus:
But you can hear it on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
By now everybody knows
You can hear it on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
Just who comes and goes
Comes and goes, comes and goes
La, la la la, la la la
La, la la la, la la la
La, la la la, (la la la la la la la)
La, la la la, (la la la la la la oooooh)
Ah!
Its hump day on the island
The lines have all gone dead
All the juicy news is history
I guess everythings been said
But when the eagle flies on friday
And the boys break out the rum
And the joint begins to jumpin
And youll hear those hot lines hum
Chorus:
Ah, put it on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
All the celebration and the stress
Baby put it on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
In twenty-five words or less
I want to hear it on the coconut telgraph (telegraph)
All the celebration and the stress
Baby put it on the coconut telegraph (telegraph)
In twenty-five words or less
Dis and dat, comes and goes
Dis and dat, comes and goes

Travel

the fast craft slices the oceans
of our passage
from one island to another
day by day
we see the sea foams
and the skies
that we cut through

the sea gulls and the sun
meet us on the shore lines
of the port

another destination
of this travel
this wandering

another arrival greets us
smiling faces telling us
welcome
welcome
we are offering you this paradise
white sands
cool shady coconut trees
sweet queen's pineapple
crunchy to your teeth
pamper your tongues

beside the blue pools
reflecting the clouds
and our faces
we splash and take
what the jacuzzi offers

the sweet conversation begins
you are beside me
your legs touching mine
we make whispers
the water so cool and relaxing
you are warmer than the morning sun
we confirm again
distances
we confirm again the power of nearness
we affirm us in our arms
we close our eyes

the world is still
and it is indeed beautiful
inside us

on soundless splashes
the waters in our minds run deep
we fall in love again

Suppressed Anger

it is as if the belly of a woman
is pregnant with a very long snake
and slowly it exits its way
through the esophagus
but you cannot see it first
because the teeth is still gritting
and the mouth is still closed
but on the spur of the moment
when restraint gives way
the mouth suddenly opens
the teeth stops gritting
and the head of that very long snake
comes out
showing its sharp fang
and suddenly
without any talk
bites the object of its
affection.

Weep Not For Him That Dieth

I.

WEEP not for him that dieth--
For he sleeps, and is at rest;
And the couch whereon he lieth
Is the green earth's quiet breast:
But weep for him who pineth
On a far land's hateful shore,
Who wearily declineth
Where ye see his face no more!
II.

Weep not for him that dieth,
For friends are round his bed,
And many a young lip sigheth
When they name the early dead;
But weep for him that liveth
Where none will know or care,
When the groan his faint heart giveth
Is the last sigh of despair.
III.

Weep not for him that dieth,
For his struggling soul is free,
And the world from which it flieth
Is a world of misery;
But weep for him that weareth
The captive's galling chain:
To the agony he beareth,
Death were but little pain.
IV.

Weep not for him that dieth,
For he hath ceased from tears,
And a voice to his replieth
Which he hath not heard for years;
But weep for him who weepeth
On that cold land's cruel shore--
Blest, blest is he that sleepeth,--
Weep for the dead no more!

I Remember When My Mouth Was Full

and i too remember when my mouth was full
i still wanted to talk
to you, there was this thought that keeps on bugging me
and it was for you,
that time, when my mouth was full, i wish i could talk
intelligibly, but how could i? when what i had was everything
kept within the four corners of my mouth,
sealed by the fence of my teeth, and the lock is in my tongue,
and my lips, they keep closing, keeping what palatable food was there.

i vomited. no, i did not.
i swallowed them all, Hook
line and sinker. i forgot that i am human.
i thought i was a fish. there were bubbles.
there was that river that swallowed me.
and it too did not talk,

now, i am talking to you. and you are listening.
then what? i have nothing to say.
i am empty.
