The Dog Who Wants To Get Out Of The House
the Japanese fritz
is brown
the gate is closed
and it waits
for an exit by chance
there is so much
road to run
outside the walls
as i open the gate
it raises its head
and starts to scratch
the cemented
floor
i go out alone without
the dog
the gate is closed again
i carry with me
a feeling that i cannot
yet describe

Open The Gate
I see you from the distance
From beyond the fence you made
Hiding all your feelings
Behind your barricade
Oh have you been invaded
Is this the reason why you hide
I know just how you're feeling
I know - let me inside
Open the gate up
Open the gate up - hurry
Open the gate up - hurry
I want to get near you
But you just won't let me in
'Cause you're so scared of losing
Everything you've got within
Come on now you can trust me
Come on and open the door
'Cause I know just how you're feeling
I know - I've been there before
Open the gate up
Open the gate up - hurry
Open the gate up
Hurry hurry hurry hurry
And do it right now
Do it right now
Do it right now
Do it right now - hurry
Do it right now - do it right now
Do it right now - do it right now
And do it right now - do it right now
Do it right now - do it right now
Hurry
Open the gate up
Open the gate up - hurry
Open the gate up
Hurry hurry hurry hurry
Open the gate up - open the gate up
Or I'm gonna knock the damn door down
Open the gate up - open the gate up
Or I'm gonna knock the damn door down
Open the gate up - open the gate up
Or I'm gonna knock the damn door down
Open the gate up - open the gate up
Or I'm gonna knock the damn door down
Down

The Manse Gate
At a wave of his hand, with his eye on the traffic,
Underneath his yellow helmet head,
the bulldozer, lifting its beak
Came down upon the old Manse gate,
And in a second, with its pillars
And walls, were rubble for the road,
foundation.
Contributing to its raiso d'etre, passe.
you leave Marlay Park, on the Grange Road side,
the exit gate, facing what was a Manse,
you could have seen it,
a status of Gentry.
Those walls kept in an ethos,
those gate let in a class,
of carriages and conversation.
To a long, winding, Elms driveway,
the Manse well gone.
And now the gates too,
at the dropp of a hand, the wave,
of a young man, helmetted in yellow,
And a cigarette swinging in the spare hand,
as the clear road allows the beak of progress
move away a century of style.
Then he looks to wave me on,
And holding in his hand, pulling on the
smoke,
nods the beak towards the wall,
the highways now ready for foundation.
History is history at a glance.

for John on his first frustration
let me draw you a house
with an entrance gate
leading to an entrance
door and some windows
to let in air.
just that, there will be no
exit doors, no exit gate,
all the windows open,
not designed to close,
that precisely is success
and failure.
there is a sense of
entrance triumphant
ditto an exit for some
ordinary and even
inevitable failures of
our lives.
the windows are some
of our other options, we
let in air to breathe
for a while. we must.

Deaths gate
There's a gate that I want to walk through.
I want to go to deaths gate.
Where all my troubles will be gone.
No more hartache no more fears.
Just the freedom of tommorrrow.
Without the fears of the day.
Itll keep my demons away.
I want to go to deaths gate.
To end my life and strife.
I dont want to be in this lifetime of hate.
Theres a gate I'll go through soon.
I'll be entering deaths gate.
It wont be an acicedent you see.
It'll be suicide

Pleading
I'm knocking at your gate again
Open up
Won't you let me in?
I'm standing
Waiting
Watching to see some recognition please.
Yes
It really is me.
Open up.
Won't you let me in?
I waited for you
Let the years pass by
I listened to hear
The
'It's all right.'
I'm knocking at your gate again
Bloody knuckles
Scraped skin.
Panic is gaining hold on me
Please
I whisper
Let me in.
I taste tears..
Who is crying and why?
My vision is blurred
There is stinging in my eyes.
I'm knocking at your gate again.
Waiting
For the gusty wind to carry me away
From this lonesome place.
I'm knocking at your gate again.
Why won't you answer?
Why won't you let me in?
I'm walking down the path again
Away from you,
Away from this thing..
Whatever binds us
Will eventually break.
The threads will give way
Perhaps then
I will have found my escape.
No shelter here
Nothing secure
you don't even bother to peak
Through the curtains anymore.
I'm leaving you,
battered and bruised,
To a new place
A better home
Somewhere safe.

Untraveled
As my world had slowly unraveled,
From taking a road that was untraveled,
Narrow up ahead was the way
I had only my belief and I did pray,
Forward in front of me was the only gate
I took nothing to chance, or even to fate.
I now know not to walk with sin,
Never will I walk with it ever again,
So all alone on the road I did walk
Without sinning or immorality so to myself I did talk,
No other person was in my thoughts or my sight
As no one was at my left, or on my right.
Another road I noticed not very far away,
I saw liars and sinners and those ready to betray,
Their road was long and it was very wide
People walked it with a happiness and also with pride,
Their upcoming gate was crooked, rusted and bent
Sadly not one soul was sorry, or wanted to repent.
As I walk the road that is seldom traveled,
My life in front of me then became unraveled,
It shows the life that I have lived and also led
Now my life and my redemption is on my head,
As I headed for the final entrance gate
To find my hereafter, as heaven will await.

My closed door
My closed door, do you care?
when you are in the open air
i wonder why?
the liethal smell of diesal
pollutes and purifies my sky
make it bright, make it dark
i pour out my heart, im a fool
while you pour out the fuel
on the gate, with my hate
you do it, the tulips
its not right, the statice-
rememberence, and my aster
for flaming the fence
you take the patience
carnations down the drive
spark the match now light
hello hell! your naked floor
will you burn my closed door?

Teach Me How To Fly
It's never to late to open the gate.
'Teach me.
Teach me.'
Age is nothing but an excuse to make.
'Teach me to free myself.
Teach me like no one else.'
Moons come and those Summers go.
It's never too late to open the gate.
Minds in fear keep those dreams slowed.
Age aint nothing but an excuse to make.
'Teach me.
Teach me.
Teach me how to fly.'
It's never too late to open the gate.
'Teach me,
I'd like to try.'
You're the only one who decides it's too late.
You're the only one afraid to open the gate.
You're the one with urges wishing to escape.
'Why can't you reach me to teach me,
To break away from those limits made? '
You're the only one who decides it's too late.
You're the only one afraid to open the gate.
You're the one with urges wishing to escape.
'Teach me.
Teach me.
Teach me how to fly.'
I can't.
It was something I desired.
And with that desire...
I found it could be done.

I Suppose
I've given up everything for you
I thought you were different
I thought you were true
But for some reason
I don't blame you.
Now I sit and wait
Staring at the closed gate
Sitting by a tree
All alone with only me
Now I see
I can do so much with time
My only wish is you were mine
That would be my time well spent
If one day it ever comes to an end.
I could do so much with time
If only you were mine
Now I know
I should have never let you go
But I screwed up again
I suppose.
We haven't talked in forever
It's obvious we're not together
I miss you so
But I want you to know.
As I sit and wait
Staring at this closed gate
There's nothing I'd want more
Than to have you here with me
So you could see
I can do so much with time
My only wish is you were mine
That would be my time well spent
If one day it ever comes to an end.
I could do so much with time
If only you were mine
Now I know
I should have never let you go
I tried to push you away
Now I think about you every freaking lonely day
I love you so
I'd never let you go
I had you so close
But I screwed up again
I suppose.
Yesterday I talked to you
And yesterday we talked it through.
Now I know everything is right
When I can't stop thinking about you tonight.
As I sit and wait
Staring at the closed gate
Sitting by a tree
Now together you're with me
It would be impossible to see.
I can do so much with time
Still my only wish is you were mine
I know we're friends
But I want us to be more
Before the end
It'd be impossible
I suppose.
But there's only one sure way to know.
I'm taking my time
I'm asking you
Will you be true
Will you be mine
What you will say
I do not know
But there I go again
I suppose.

Someone
Someone's heart-door shuts
And the song of life never comes out.
Someone mutters
But it's voiceless
And in the feverish air
That never travels to her
Unless a great force.
Oh! It's a gloomy Sunday
The unusual bench in the park
Waits for a stranger to chat.
But the park gate was closed
As the gate-keeper lost his bunch of keys
After a nightcap.
A handsome beggar found the keys in an early morning
At the tavern door step
And he thinks he could enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
* All the time I feel that someone knocks at my door,
And I peep out but nobody's there.
I have heard that the death has a habit of knocking at doors?

Enter In
'Enter in, through te narrow gate;
For, wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction! !
And, many are those who go that way'.
However, if you want life, then, the narrow way is what you need;
Because, straight is the gate, and few are hose who have found it!

Only Those With The Key
The gate has been locked,
To block access...
To those once accustomed,
To free entry and free reign.
And this has been suggested...
Maybe one's own finding,
Of a home on the range...
Suitable for the deer and the antelope,
To play.
And any mumbling heard is one's own
The gate has been locked,
To block out the physical.
And that which appears limited.
But one 'spirited' in mind,
Can choose to look over the gate.
Or through its cracks.
Or...
Sit to wonder why THIS gate attracts.
And gates with locks that block,
To stop what's coming in...
Seem to imprison those behind them,
Rarely to come out to test the locks.
And only those with the key,
Know what it is used for.
AND...
Its history to be known or not!
Since whoever has got the key,
Needs not to peek or have interest in the doing.
Only those with the key to the gate that locks,
To block in or not to block out...
Do not concern themselves with peeking.

At The Front Gate (Rondelet)
At the front gate
I saw you smell a new red rose,
at the front gate
this afternoon I could not wait
for you to come, to hold you close,
to you I wanted to propose
at the front gate.

The Sufis advise us to speak only after our words have managed to pass through three gates. At the first gate we ask ourselves, Are these words true? If so, we let them pass on; if not, back they go. At the second gate we ask, Are they necessary? At the last gate we ask, Are they kind?

Jesus in the suburb
There’s a strange man
standing outside at the garden gate
on the other side of the mailbox
and he is dressed in a uniform
and looks somewhat familiar
but I cannot place him
and funny enough
the dogs are quiet
and to peaceful to my fancy
as if they
know him from somewhere
and I wonder what a traffic cop
is doing outside at the garden gate
and I am half irritated
when I open the front door,
but his uniform is somewhat strange
and looks like a flying suit
that a pilot would wear.
I wonder what he wants
and without talking he asks
do you know me?
There’s a bright like
shining like the sun
out of his loving eyes
and His hands has the marks
of old wounds
that has healed
and I wonder what He is doing
at the door of a sinful fool like me
and I open the gate wide
and He walks in.

The village gate can be closed, the mouth of the fool, never.
No one can persuade another to change. Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or emotional appeal.

Forty Letters To A Woman – Third Letter –
You were the harpist
At the gate of heaven.
I was about crossing that gate
when we first met.
I never though,
felt, or captured your inner songs
that flew with the harp melody
until I left heaven from the other gate.
I never knew
that your were the first picture
and the last sound of heaven
until I left it.
What remains
now in
my deepest memories
an ancient question
- and that is
what I try to get rid of: -
What makes heaven
heaven?
is it a melody,
a woman's melody at the gate of heaven,
or the silent melody in a woman eyes?
