The Blackbird
the black bird knows
places
it has flown all these years
but it is not
telling stories
what is in there?
what is the reason
for coming back?
the black stone
is its king and comes back
again
to worship it
until it takes it

Short; Nature; Silly; Birds: The Pebble (Boink)
For ten thousand years, on a lofty mountain ledge, the shiny pebble sat,
until this afternoon when a brazen raven.....dropped it squarely on my hat.
I guess I had it coming, as I planned to steal chicks from her nest.
Soooo...I guess I'll now give up my quest, ... and hike back home to rest.
But, ....although I've forgiven the offending bird....[who's croaking now with glee],
I'll tweak her beak unmercifully.....if she drops, again, that pebble on me!

Ambition
what i hold inside my pocket is just a pebble.
it is all that i have now.
i take it again put it on the table and look at its face closely
you know that it has no eyes
or hands or feet, i let it stay there as though there is only one pebble
in this universe of sands, i listen.
i let time stop for a while.
i look at the sky tonight and there are so many stars.
they are so distant you know that and you feel that
i take the pebble back in my pocket,
there will be no exchange, it is enough for my anchor

The Little Black Bird: A Poem For The Other Woman
the little black bird
goes home in a cave
just below her belly
between
her legs
it sings about love
that she always kills
for nothing
before midnight the
blackbird flies
seeking the warmth
of other blackbirds
it is cold and
dying
in her keeping
now she sings alone
like a blackbird
cursing
the trees and the flowers
she wants to disown the
blackbird
in exchange for the
earthworm
she likes it that way
wriggling
without any feet at all

Disobedience
Don’t utter disobedience when he speaks to your being,
Inside a heart is a staggering dispute for those looking.
This sense is like a garden of truth, one of piety,
This pebble is stone, for the path is rude at the one with vice.
Gambling keeps coming back, fully absorbing the talent
We have injected into the soul so learned from thinking.
Open your heart to the divine being, international helpers
Arrive for their return to their Lord, who knows more than you.

The Panic Bird
just flew inside my chest. Some
days it lights inside my brain,
but today it's in my bonehouse,
rattling ribs like a birdcage.
If I saw it coming, I'd fend it
off with machete or baseball bat.
Or grab its scrawny hackled neck,
wring it like a wet dishrag.
But it approaches from behind.
Too late I sense it at my back --
carrion, garbage, excrement.
Once inside me it preens, roosts,
vulture on a public utility pole.
Next it flaps, it cries, it glares,
it rages, it struts, it thrusts
its clacking beak into my liver,
my guts, my heart, rips off strips.
I fill with black blood, black bile.
This may last minutes or days.
Then it lifts sickle-shaped wings,
rises, is gone, leaving a residue --
foul breath, droppings, molted midnight
feathers. And life continues.
And then I'm prey to panic again.

Somebody Get My Mom
Woke up today in a van
Traded my pillow for a Miller Lite can
And in two more days I lose the guitar that I hawked
Slurped down a beer then one more twelve ounces later
I was outside your door and the pebble i threw

Then I fell, skinned my knee, broke my glasses, got stung by a bee
I lost my wallet and my car keys too
