The Black Hooded Man

the black hooded man sometimes
comes and you face him with a stare
he nods down and looks at the list

your name is not yet there
and you ask
why?

he says it is simply written

The Game of Stare

There’s a boy with his fellow
I caught his eyes with a wander
Now the game has been played
Now you have been challenged
You better asked my name
Before anyone came
But you only stare, stare, stare
Like I annoy your safety ring
Like you can’t even think
You only stare, stare, stare
Like I lose you something
Something you can’t even win

There’s boy in the dance floor
I catch his eyes, he comes closer
Now the game is replayed
Now you better watch out
You better take me out
Before someone calls you coward
Cause you only stare, stare, stare
Like you never see me in dress
Like no one else who dares
You only stare, stare, stare
Like I steal you something
Something you can’t even think

There’s a boy in the park
He makes me catch his eyes
Now the game is forward
Now you don’t want to break up
You better have a word
Before you loose your hold
And you only stare, stare, stare
Like a puppy wants a bone
Like you’ll be lost if I’m gone
You only stare, stare, stare
Like I can give you something
Something you think you can’t win

All Over Your Face

When I see you, you smile as if everything is alright,
but I know your smile is just a mask for your hurt and sadness,
for the truth is written all over your face.

Behind your dark brown gleaming eyes I can see the tears you have cried.
It’s written all over your face.

I can even see behind your blush the anger wrinkles in your cheeks from you clinching your teeth. It’s written all over your face.

I can even see the hurt and disappointment you now carry in your soul.
It’s written all over your face.

I just want you to know my friend I’m there for you whenever you need a shoulder to cry on, an ear to vent in, and of course arms to hug you. I love and care for you and hope you can see that because it’s written all over my face.

Thinking Process..

i go back to the pages
and i know i am shocking perhaps to all of you
having written much on some things that
perhaps i have not thought of so well...
but they are there and they confront me
that i own them and i feel a little bit awkward
when and how have i written these
matters of the heart
and soul and affection and
(well,) alienation and
stressful situations, not counting
the reality of depressing
expressions in the form of
concealed metaphoric devices,
at any rate, i accept this kind of ability to
just be writing for no purpose, except to express,
for simply writing what i must say
without so much thinking that in the future
i may regret what
ought not to be written...
well, this is it, this is life, and this is what is it
all about...a river simply flowing to the sea

what more? what should it be?

Texas In Cochabamba (Life Poem)

4
Friends
Face each other
Across a green field
With Johnny Walker Black
The smoke-thick fog hiding
The tell, from hooded eyes, as
Cards are dealt and the battle with
Bets and blinds and rivers and suits,
Begins in earnest. The chips are down
And up and down again, until four hours
Later the spoils are divided and winners
And losers agree a “‘Let’s do it again”
Pact
For tomorrow.

Black man be human

Black man takes out his wallet and lays it bare for all to see
Marauding notes casing his dignity
Black man be human
Question, how can I be?
Equal to the white man, silk hair smooth skin
Black man be human
Status restored but dignity ignored
Simply shaped by his disfigured identity
Causing all to scream
Black man be human
Black man takes out his wallet and lays it bare for all to see
A face achieved yet sadly he realises
Now the world screams
Black man you are human
Shaped in a western perception
Of what it means to be
Black man you are human
Black man: ‘I am human'
As they told me to be
No uniqueness
Or vision
Shaped
Character
Just like them
Black man: ‘I am human'

Buddha

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

Thats Him Over There

I see your face in this room full of faces,
Im trying hard not to stare,
Strange to see you again, here of all places,
Thats him over there.
My baby looks the same as he did when I met him,
Id know that laugh anywhere,
It was foolish of me to think Id forget him,
Thats him over there.
I wish I could be the girl at his side,
The one who has taken my place,
Can everyone see what Im trying to hide,
Isnt it written all over my face?
I guess that you kow what extremes I have gone to,
To prove that I didnt care,
You were so anxious to meet the dream Ive hung onto,
Well, thats him, thats my jim, over there.

There Is Simply Love for the Feast of Valentine

There is no black love
For the feast of Valentino
There is simply: LOVE.

There is no white love
In the cappuccino
There is simply: LOVE.

Coffee will always be black
Milk is sometimes white
And chocolate on occasion brown.

Mix all three and the ending product
Is just kaleidoscopically divine
Out of this world, almost perfect.

Love has a great mind
That’s why he or she is blind
This is something that is hard to find.

Love has no color
Love has simply great flavor
And great taste like a classic wine.

There is no Negro love
No Caucasian love
And no Hispanic love.

There is simply: LOVE.

My Smile is on Stage

To contain my smile I face them who act
Telling my stare, and wearing the fact
I see in the corner of my existence,
The existence holds an appearance.
The acting in a theatre may be written
But where does the action remind construction
Of the words we face and have read
In this life we call, this living carried.

The Hooded Man With the Sickle

The hooded man with the sickle
He comes without invitation
He drops in on all kinds of people
And takes them with no hesitation.

The hooded man with the sickle
He might dropp by your place tonight
He may meet you on the road you take
And today, He may snuff out your light.

Live your life like there's no end-
Be ruthless and nasty with your ways,
But when you meet him around the bend
From the hooded man you can't run away.

We all will meet him, no matter what-
Poor, rich, famous or otherwise,
When he swings that sickle, you know that
You breathe your last and close your eyes.

The Connection

When I see the connection
Though I see I don't stare
Though I see I don't stare
When I'm lost in my reflection
Though I see I don't stare
Though I see I don't stare
Then I change my direction
One foot follows the other
One foot follows something new
'Cause I need some protection
And I'm scared I could lose it
If I stare, you'll be gone
When I need some attention
Though I see I don't stare
Though I see I don't stare
When I'm lost in my reflection
Though I see I don't stare
Though I see I don't stare

There stands death

There stands death
a black distillate in a waitresses leftover coffee cup
the only answer when even the echo does not reply

There stands death
a masked figure whose face you cannot see
black hooded wretch who beckons come with me

There stands death
reaching out for you with both hands
While you do not dare take a single breath

As a child i played hide and seek
While hiding i heard my breath
thinking
Death is hide and seek
Never being found
ever again
There stands death

Written in Black Ink

Upon
The tear-stained
Paper

She writes

Writes,
Her story

Her experiences
Her life

Written in
Black ink

Upon
The tear-stained
Paper

She writes

Writes,
Her sorrows

People she lost
People who are gone

Written in
Black ink

She writes for
Days and
Days

Until
At last
Her masterpiece

Is finished

Her eyes Begin to
Close and
Oblivion Takes hold

And when she
Awakens
Her story will be written

Written in black ink

Little Shopping List

Finding recipes,
List the ingredients on yellow lined paper,
Someones building,
A cake for another,
Hundreds and thousands and paper tins,
Underlined self raising flour.

I'd like to see the smile on her face,
When she realises the effort he makes,
I'd like to hear the laughter illuminate the place,
As they devour the cakes.

Little little shopping list,
What happiness you bring,
Little little shopping list,
Where have you been.

Behind The Mask

Written by christine mcvie.
Dont you come too close to me
Youre dangerous, cant you see
You can make the darkness mean more
Then it ever did
Ever did before
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
And I recognize the face behind the mask
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
I dont know if I want you back
Youre the cool nights of the desert
And the hot kisses of the sun
Why is it that I dont belive you
When you say Im the only one
I know Im the lonely one
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
And I recognize the shadows from your past
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
Dont you know itll never last
The face behind the mask
There will never be a second chance for you
Oh no
Not for you
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
And I recognize the face behind the mask
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
Dont you know itll never last
The face behind the mask
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
And I recognize the shadows from your past
Its a devils disguise
Angel in black
I dont know if I want you back
I dont know if I want you back
Dont you know itll never last
The face behind the mask

0264 Toothpaste tubes and toilet seats

Why do I hate you? Let me count the ways...

Oh I could list them.... but no - not the trivialities
that drive us into impotent blind rage
committed daily by our partners, children, (parents?) , room-mates -
I, you, we, all have that list...

but I sing the joyous list of so-called 'minor' poets
who simply spell out, so uproariously
our petty human weaknesses,
domestic inadequacies, all the idiot joy
of living together while apart...

poets who'll never be on someone else's list
of 'ground-breaking' avant-garde great names
who with new neighbourings of words and sounds
expand humanity's poetic vision of the tears of things;
map out the undiscovered mind of years that are yet to be -

no - poets who, living all our lives for us,
confirm, with smiling banal truisms, this comedy,
our shared humanity; humans being humans;
wishing that we might change, but not too soon, not yet...

and as we smile and groan as poets with their skills
list that familiar daily stress and strain -
the still, mad music of humanity -
love arises.

Black is color of my true love's hair

So many songs have been written about my love.
The beautiful color of my true love's hair. The hair of a powerful beauty.
Black as a wormhole or as simple as a crayon.
Made of ions, electrons and protons, my love must have created all things
for her hair supports everything.
From the planets, moons, suns, constellations and universes. My true love has no prejudice or hatred for any one being instead love for all she creates.
Her face lights up planets and her waters house life while her skin supports all walking creatures and four legged enigmas.
Her eyes are stars gazers while her smiles are super novas
and her beautiful black hair is simply the dark matter in space.

Mysteries And Mayhem

Well I'm trying to tell you about a thing I thought I saw
It came to me in a dream one night
When a voice began to call
I heard my name being summoned as I looked around to see
A hooded judge and jury
There was no mercy there for me
Well I can't make it, I just can't figure it out
This dream is drivin' me crazy
I gotta know what it's all about
The mark is upon me, and the mark of Cain brings fear
A cold wind's blowin' right down my back
I'm runnin, I'm runnin' from a figure that's dressed in black
I think my legs are made out of lead
Cause I'm runnin' but I'm going nowhere
The bad dream is coming closer and closer
I got a feelin' he'll always be there
Forever is a long time to spend in agony
And the demons of confusion have got a place for me
The mark is upon me, and the mark of Cain brings fear
I was tired, so tired of runnin'
I had to turn and look around
I saw eyes that looked right through me
And a voice that made no sound
My body froze and I stood and stared, unearthly face before me
From the depths of a hooded nightmare, I saw what could not be
Mysteries and mayhem from the pinnacle I see
There's no answer when there's no question
The mark of Cain bears hard on me
