Sometimes I Think
sometimes, (i always keep it to myself)
(i am better than you
how you approach a problem
using a very circuitous solution
as i look at you keeping such a busy day
i sigh and look away
i could have done much better
but you are there
so high, you are put on such a pedestal
of distinction
with more medals and plaques
the way you have danced well
with the powers that be
with the gods of our society
you always wear a smile
and take the posture of obeisance
and always ready with your
yes, sir, yes, sir
and some expensive gifts
(how can i ever do that
without disrespecting myself?)
now you got what you wished for
my master
i become your inferior
and wait for your orders
you cannot issue them
you do not know what to do
they are all waiting for the solution, they are now hoping for you
(i could have done much better
as i wait for your orders
but what can i do?
you are the system
and i am but this silent dissenter)

Orders From Headquarters
Mathew 20: 28
Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and give His life as a ransom for many
Jesus himself came to follow orders. And a great one too. To sacrifice His life for ours. To save us.
Not many like to take orders. Yet in reality, we take orders everyday. Whether it's work, school, parents, or even sports. We are all obliged to take orders whether we like it or not. Why is that though?
Most of the time we take orders from those we need. For example, your boss at work. You take his orders because you need the money. Or your teachers. You take their commands because you're looking to graduate.
In retrospect, we need to follow God's orders because we need Jesus more than anything in this world. He's our provider, our light, our breath of everyday, our everything.
He gave us orders, and that's to serve Him. So how much more do we need to carry out His orders? Jesus did it. So how much more do we?
These are the orders from headquarters, carry out His commandments, seek Him. Evangelize, and care for others according to His will.
In the Name of Jesus. Amen.

Stranglehold
Can I get you to give me a minute of your time?
Can I get you to slip me the answer?
Can I get you to slow me a little of your mime?
You were always a very good dancer
Id be happy to show you a bit of what I found
Id be happy to share in its beauty
Id be happy to lay low inevitably bound
I would only be doing my duty.
I wait, I wait, I can wait, I can wait back in the bar
I can wait, I can wait , I can wait back in the car
Ill be waiting for you
Stranglehold, you know youve got on me
I dont want to go without you.
Stranglehold, youve got me where you want me
But I want to know more about you I want to know more
About you.
Are you willing to wager a little of your life?
Are you willing to take such a gamble?
Are you ready to walk on the edge of the knife?
Then I think we can skip the preamble.
I wait, I wait, I can wait. I cant wait back in the bar,
I can wait, I can wait, I can wait back in the car
Ill be waiting for you. Ill be waiting...
Stranglehold, you know, youve got on me
I dont want to go without you
Stranglehold, youve got me where you want me
And I want to know more about you I want to know more
About you.
I can wait, I can wait back in the bar I can wait, I can wait
I can wait back in the car Ill be waiting for you.

Orders are orders
Orders are after all orders
As there is no room for wonderers
The land may be sacred for her
To claim as ancestral or land of mother
What do the solders know?
They have orders to throw
Any intruders if enters illegally
Just to face the trigger brutally
Soldiers will have to obey commander
As he is authorized to issue an order
He may be soldier first then human
Must keep no corner for man or woman
"Shoot the target" means shoot instantly
The orders may be fast and not spoken gently
It has forbearance of nationalism
Where everything is secondary including humanism

My Problem Is You
To love and get away before the walls have arisen
Youve got to be free
But to go on attempting to break into the prison
Youd have to be me
I wait for the sun to rise over the mountain
I wait for your touch
I wait for your angels to carry me home
But I wait too much
Waiting for you
I have no problem telling right from wrong
Fiction from whats true
No problem telling the dream from the dawn
My problem is you
Waiting here for you
I wanted to live in the realm of the senses
Youve got to know how
And for some kinds of pleasure there are no defenses
I know that now
Our love is a crackling ladder of lightning
Our love is a fire
Our love is a wave moving deep in an ocean
Of need and desire
Waiting for you
I have no problem with this crooked world
I play the cards I drew
No problem with the changes life has hurled
My problem is you
Waiting here for you
I need your wonder and I need your light
I need your tender touch to heal the night
I need you laughing and I need you free
And I need to lock you away deep inside of me
Waiting for you
I have no problem telling right from wrong
The way some people do
I know exactly where these arms belong
My problem is you
Waiting here for you

Containment Protocol Initiated
Military will shoot kill civilians
orders are orders
if that's what they are ordered to do?
Training is training
follow orders through and through
that's what we are trained to do?
Military will shoot kill civilians
if ordered to do so?
We are trained to follow orders?
The penalty for not follower orders
in combat... death by firing squad?
Would you follow orders? Do you?
We are trained to follow orders?

Until when?
I have been hoping and hoping
Waiting and waiting,
Thinking and thinking,
Oh poor little me,
Enslaved by time and space
Until when,
Shall i reach the summit of my hope?
Until when,
Shall i see the day of my dreams,
Until when,
Shall i wait upon time?
Until when,
Shall i wonder always until when
Until when,
Shall i reach the day of manhood?
Until when,
Shall i wait to say, I do?
Until when,
Shall i wait to vow to love?
Until when shall until when be then?
Upon which chauvinism,
Shall i reach the day?
Upon which creativity,
Shall i have you to myself?
Upon which innovation,
Shall i slower time to be with you,
Until when, shall i learn im still growing?
Be my wife and lets not wait until then

What If
Every problem has a solution…
Struggles are in everyone's life…
Some more then twice…
But to know in your heart…
That you are part of something good…
Is understood…
There is a solution…
Even with all the pollution…
Life has it's up's and it's down's
(Smiles and Frowns)
(Laugh and Clowns)
(Survivors' and Downers… alike) …
"Keep shouting be like Mike"
The things you want… most…
(YOU) must fight for…LIFE…
Really ain't for keeps…
Oh! But it's a beautiful dare…
Even though…life is not fair…
Change your mind…
Change your life…
In that way you get to live twice….
Every problem has a solution
Even with all of the pollution
All is not lost…
Just don't say…
What if…

The Bed
the bed is all that matters now
it has become the central solution
to all the problems of the house
I agree with Freud after all he made sense
for all those troubling years of his lifetime
that to all these marital misunderstandings
the bed has always been the solution
why do wives leave their husbands?
simply because of the unused bed
where time has been spent mostly for sleeping
now, i have felt what father used to confide
that the bed, yes the bed, is always the solution
even when both of them are nearing their 60s
and father did all the bed grooming
at my age now i must agree
i must say i completely agree
we always do it on the bed and the problem is solved.
yes, we do the serious talking there.

I have made it quite clear that a unified Ireland was one solution that is out. A second solution was a confederation of two states. That is out. A third solution was joint authority. That is out-that is a derogation of sovereignty.

I'll wait for you in Paris
I'll wait for you in Paris
Under the mouth of the Eiffel tower
I'll wait under Van Gough's starry sky
I'll wait by the Mona Lisa's smile
I'll wait by the glitzy lights of the arms of the Moulin rouge
Here I'll always be waiting for you
I'll wait by the great doors of Notre Dame
Under the famous rose glass window
I'll wait for you by the frown of Arc de Triomphe
Standing above the lonely bones of the Unknown Soldier
I'll always wait for you
In this city where I have never died
I'll always wait for you
Till you are here by my side

Seven Days
I dont care if the rain dont shine
Oh, I dont care if the sun dont fall
You are the one in a million, child
And you knew that I would call
Thoughts of you alone with me
I cant slow them down
But I cant sleep at night
Because youre not around
I cant wait
Seven days is a long time
To be waiting for you girl
I cant wait
Seven days is just too long
To be without you girl
Ive tried every kind of distraction
But nothing will ease this pain
There is only one solution, girl
So why do you make me wait
Got to say I didnt think
That I could read your mind
But I cant sleep at night
cause baby youre on mine
I cant wait
Seven days is a long time
Oh, I miss you girl
I cant wait
Seven days is just too long
I cant wait
Seven days is a long time
To be without you
I cant wait
Seven days is just too long
Just too long

Keeping My Distance
(jimmy davis/tommy burroughs/don smith)
Im keeping my calandar open
Even if it takes me years
til you figure out what your plan is
You figure out all of your fears
I dont wanna know anything about her
Or what you feel like you have to defend
But Ive seen your situation
And the world she keeps you in
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until my time is here
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until you make it clear
If you dont want to rush it baby
Well then by all means dont
But Im gonna wait for the day when
When you see that its me you want
I can see, I can tell that you need me
You know that I need you too
So why on earth cant you ever let her go
Will you ever try anything new
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until my time is here
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until you make it clear
Where will you find the strength
I cant hold you against your will
You keep me at arms length
Im reaching out to hold you still, yeah, yeah, yeah
I can see that you need me
You know that I need you too
So why on earth cant you ever let her go
Will you ever try anything new
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance
And Ill wait until my time is here
Im keeping my distance
Im keeping my distance

The Waiting Game
It seems we wait and wait and wait
for something all our days.
And the time we spend waiting
provides us with delays.
Sometimes what we wait for
is so far out of reach
that the waiting becomes the lesson
that your life is trying to teach.
To wait for the improbable to happen
is called the impossible dream.
Tis it not better to stop the waiting
and stop the inner stream
of frustrating tears that flow each day
because instinctively you know
that the waiting will never disappear.
The waiting will never go.

Revolution
More calm than a heartbeat that flat lines
Quiet like a dark street under the moonlight
A phrase of action that's been screamed from the guts of men
Ever since they're first experienced
Injustice, prejudice, discrimination
A word louder than a gunshot
And softer than a baby's laugh, it will pass
Just like it always has. Until it spits off the lips of
The next man who's had it up to here.
Did somebody say a Revolution?
Or is it all in my head?
Is that what it takes to make a solution
solution
not the first or the last to imagine it
Acknowledge the concepts, question and grasp it
Rebel against the I, and bring down the self.
Mutiny me! overthrow you
Rebellion starts within, the time is now
Did somebody say a Revolution?
Or is it all in my head?
Is that what it takes to make a solution, solution
Did somebody say a Revolution?
Or is it all in my head?
Is that what it takes to make a solution
Your Revolution
Purple skies, Devil eyes, Hypnotize
Little lies, Compromise, Fireflies
Samurias, Parasite, Fly by night, After light, Materialize,
Look alive, Stereotype, Do with die, lullaby, black and white
Did somebody say a Revolution?
Or is it all in my head? your revolution
Is that what it takes to make a solution, solution, your revolution
Did somebody say a Revolution?
Or at least it's been said, your revolution
Is that what it takes to make a solution?
Your Revolution
No resolution -Your Revolution
what's your solution? -Your Revolution
And no substitution -Your Revolution
And no resolution -Your Revolution
not your solution
