Multitasking
your body finally succumbs
to sickness of multitasking
talking and listening at the same
time to two or more persons
behind and infront of you
the lack of sincerity
and full attention to a thing
a person
hurt because you have to use
not just a face
not just a hand but too many hands
doing many things
at the same time too many minds
thinking so many thoughts
all at once
after all you are no superman
you are just
the simple man trying to be
much better
than yourself
the body weakens
the mind surrenders
you need sleep
and be away for once
from this ever demanding world
of pretenses

The Sweping Sound Early Morning
early morning the sound of sweeping the street
catches your attention,
you have just taken a bath, undergoing the
require cleansing of the body, combing the hair,
checking the nails for dirt, trimming your mustache,
wiping the wet portions of your body,
perfuming the side of the ears and the hands,
it is a ritual, it is like cleaning the body to give
the impression that you have also cleaned your soul
praying, talking to yourself, grasping for any message
from your dream last night, listening to the voice of God,
your conscience whispering what to do for the day
you take the last button, look at yourself in the mirror,
you take the deep breath, open the window, and then
face a new day. It is still you, along with you, talking to yourself.
You are brave, and now ready to face the demands of the brand new day.

Can't Sleep
I find myself yawning again and again,
But I can't sleep, which is a real pain.
I lie on my left side, then on my right,
But, for me, there is no sleep in sight.
Next, I turn and lie flat on my back,
But, of any sleep, there is still a lack.
I lie there, looking up at the ceiling:
Pretty drained, is how I am feeling.
I wish my system would just slow down,
But, through my mind, thoughts race round.
Feeling restless, I begin to huff and puff:
I know that, in the morning, I'll feel rough.
As a poet, my mind is still really busy rhyming,
But, when I'm trying to sleep, isn't great timing.
To try and get some sleep, I really endeavour,
But the night seems to go on forever and ever.
I am really willing my mind to take a rest,
But, night time is when my mind thinks best.
Over my sleeping patterns, I have no control:
On me, tomorrow, lack of sleep will take its toll.
As I snuggle myself down, under the covers,
My body wants one thing; my mind, another.
When lying in bed, I just want some peace:
I want all of this rhyming, for once, to cease.

When the Body Starts to Go Broke...
you complain of flu
time has now asked for an accounting
how your body is used
how is it abused
with so much work
and thoughts and stress and
waste
you think about drugs
and the possibility of a vaccine
i say there is more to it
we don't live by drugs alone
or bread
there is more to this tired body
this restless mind
go deeper
ask your heart
and listen
there is more to this sickness
the symptoms shout
asking for help
the prescription is right there
on those
vomit and allergies
sleep a while
let your dreams tell the story
let that voice tell you where you are
and where must you
go
next time

How Can I Sleep?
How can I sleep when the nights are long,
too long to be in bed?
The pull of the pen is calling me,
too many words in my head.
There's not enough time. Why waste it on sleep?
too many things to write.
I hear the words call out to me
too often in the night.
But what care I about the time?
It's the words I care about.
For the body when tired can always sleep
and my thoughts would probably doubt
my sincerity to this purposeful quest
to connect my mind with the page.
I have dedicated my waking hours
too often as I age.
How can I sleep when the nights are long,
too long to be in bed?
That can be left for a future time
when I've nothing left to be said.

Something That I Have Not Touched With My Hands
while in bed i am enumerating a lot of things
that i really don't know
what they are and where they come from
and what use could they be
in my emptiness i think that something fuller this time
is what i need
like hot water perhaps for a cup for an afternoon tea
but the image is too ordinary for a whim
of this imagination something's got to be better this time
something that i have not touched with my hand
that i have not tasted with my tongue
i know, i know what it is, but i know that i cannot have it
and so i just lay in bed, enumerate the other things
silly and wise, and empty and full, and paths and mountains
and labyrinths, until i am a flash in full speed of images
until i am sleepy and then i forget what is it that i know that i want and yet
i cannot have
and i begin counting sheep and ships and imagine the whole ocean blanket
to my body and
face and then
i sleep
i am tired and when this happens
i do not mind what happens next and
i do not wish about anything
i am done.

A stranger to most, An open book for some
[He prides himself in honesty
Doing everything he tries perfectly
All except for modesty]
Dreams and ideas fly easily in the globe of his mind
As he is quickly entranced in some knowledge only he could find
He is the only person I know cursed with understanding
Also the only one I know who is rarely ever demanding
The only person who follows gods laws without realizing it
The only person who knows when to admit
His preaching’s of war are countered by his wish to exterminate the vile
His bouts of sarcasm are run over by his urge to smile
His blatant quick judgment is overshadowed by his quick thinking
His thoughts are never ending and never sinking
It sometimes seems like he knows it all
Like no whisper could ever escape his ever heightened senses
Like no one could truly walk the halls of his mind
Like his thinking has no barriers or fences
Sometimes he forgets I can’t keep up
As his mind swiftly races from green to the age of exploration
From the economy of East Timor to Lebanon’s situation
Always steeling a glance in my direction as I look on in admiration
As he mouths the words to “From Yesterday”
His features rearrange in perfect concentration
And I didn’t understand it until today
That the words are his perfect re-creation
As he goes on of how the school is a perfect place for a sniper
His eyes shine as if he can assure the future with a simple guarantee
Seeing everything he describes like a movie in my mind
So he won’t stop talking I make sure and disagree
He is confused more than half of the time
But not in the disastrous way you think
For in his mind ideas become sublime
And all unimportant matters shrink
He hates so many things that are
And loves so many things that could never be
His many ideas seem impossible
Though we rarely truly disagree
Sadly a poem must end, or else this could get long
Though I will tell you that since I met him, my life has completely twirled
Just as the words from that song
“On his face is a map of the world”

One Who Has Sacrificed With A Kept Pace
Something done persistently,
Eventually wears on the body and mind...
Of the one who has given time to find,
Without a resting to qualify this to be done...
Like some who give their recommendations,
Misunderstanding the drive it has taken...
To make sure things are set in place.
They would never understand,
One who has sacrificed with a kept pace.
Well...I do.
And it is not from that which I am doing today.
It is a much needed rest,
From that which has taken years in the making
To create.
Never before considered the connection between,
Aches and pains and the lack of rest.
Until my mind and body began to beg for some.
And getting as much as I can get to just rest,
To prioritize for myself is best.
And aging has made me more aware of this!
Without proper rest,
The body and mind begins to insist it be done.
And quick with a paying of attention.
Oh...
You don't need to shout so loud.
I hear you very clearly.

Time More Laughter
A lil time for laughter
A lil time for laughter
fresh our face
a lil time to singing
brighten our mind
a lil time to kiss and think
sharpening our feeling,
tomorrow
no body talking
out of thinking but
just kidding

Body To Body
Body, body, bo-bo-bo-body, body
Body to body
Body to body
Body to body
Nobody does it like you do
Body to body
I love the way you make me feel
When you do what youre doing to me, oh
Touching me the way you do, you know, know youve got to feel it too
When you bodys next to mine, youve got me hypnotized
Body to body
Body to body
You know I like the way you do what you do when you do it to me, oh
Body to body
Nobody does it like you do
Body to body
You know I like what you do when you do what you do to me, no
Oh, what you do
Flowing through this magic night
I love to feel you hold me tight
You are the one thats right for me
You got me feeling tingaly
Share the night with stars above
I think Ive found this thing called love
Fever running through your eyes
You are my heavenly device
Body to body
Body to body
Body to body nobody does it like you do
Body to body
You know I like what you do when you do what you do to me, no
Oh, what you do
You opened up the world to me
You changed my life so tenderly
I know you are the only one
Youre brighter than the burning sun
Dont know where youre going to
I dont care as long as Im with you
That certain sparkle in your eyes
Has got me feeling oh so high
Body to body
Body to body
Body to body
Body to body
I like what you do when you do all those things to me
Body to body....

I'm having this conversation with you now. I'm talking, but I'm thinking, feeling, smelling, and moving. Yet I'm concentrating on what you're saying. So that means there's more things going on in the body than just the present thing that the person's got you doing.

It Was Only Yesterday When I Said I Want Your Body
yesterday i may have been high with my
testosterone
i wanted your body to satisfy me
i was so hard on
myself demanding what may kill me
at the end,
but then i jacked off
then i turned weak and flaccid in my thoughts
the heat is over
and time to cool off from our senselessness
and hard
headedness our unreasonableness to the demands of the hard
flesh,
now i sit calm like a lotus pure around this mud
i take back my mind
i put my senses intact
i still need your love, your mind, your care, your thoughts,
and your body to just sit beside me
i do not have even the courage to touch you.

In Dressing Room
In dressing room
Naked eventually to see the hands and feet
See the length of hands and feet
Like to see one’s length or shortness
Naked finally to see the body
See the body’s fat and lean
Such to see one’s tolerance and mean
In dressing room
Holding the picked and chosen clothes
Finally lone to face the mirror
Put on and take off, Take off and put on
Try on and change, change and try on
After all
How many times I should change to face a shameless I?
After all
How many time I should change to face the world

(Hurt Poem) A Repetitive Break Down
I was breaking down when I got with you
I was breaking down when I left you
I am breaking down just thinking about you.
Curing the world one person at a time.
In the body souls and minds.
My first true love.
Absence from god above.
A sickness it has become.
Constantly being undone.
When push comes to shove.
I just couldn't hurt you enough.
The wounds left me even more numb.
I was breaking down when I got with you
I was breaking down when I left you
I am breaking down just thinking about you.
Every fight was our last.
Surrendering to my past.
In it lives a silent kingdom.
Of knights king and queens.
Romance with a wicked dance.
That still haunts me.
I'm not a blind man for I can see.
The fire still burns.
But the light is just never the same.
My heart has been forever stained.
My head urns to just be empty.
I was breaking down when I got with you
I was breaking down when I left you
I am breaking down just thinking about you.
You completed me as only the one could.
As only one should.
To stubborn to admit I was ever wrong.
I was never wrong.
Drowning under my own shallow ego
Suffocating, the plastic wraps right over my head.
Oh it's killing, its stealing, oh its taking the air away from me.
I just need to breath.
I'm so sorry that I have this disease.
Crucified with her eyes.
Somebody dig the hole and just bury me.
I was breaking down when I got with you
I was breaking down when I left you
I am breaking down just thinking about you.

Loving Our Bodies But Only For A Time
i shudder on a possible answer
on the question of
what is it that really makes me desire you?
the temporary and quick answer of course
is your body,
those hands, that hair, those legs, that skin,
i have touched you and it is so good,
but i am worried for how long shall this answer satisfy me
time is staring at me and gives me that quizzical look
of fading and waving
that undulating shape of existence that soon surrenders
to reality
this reality of passing, this change,
this moving away, those leaves that fall and rot and become nothing
but another layer of insignificant ground,
and i shudder again to the next question, as i prepare for the shudder
of my next answer,
i am terrified at last, finding out
that there is nothing in you that is worth loving at all,
that i am but trapped in my body, trapped also into your own body
and we are in this same prison for quite a time
the seasons give us keys of awakening
there is finally nothing in us that is lovable at all
and we see it now, as we glimpse upon the veiled face of
the incoming death
we were fooled, we know that,
but it does not matter now, we have learned and by all means
we are ready to go.

The Shell....
i once had
a beautiful body
many beg to
touch it
many want to
sleep with me
even without
any responsibility
i look at myself
in the mirror
grateful for this
body
i had conceit
like a prince
of arrogance
time is my enemy
my body wears out
skin is loose
and bones become
brittle
there is a squeak
when i walk
sometimes i
regret having this
body
since i never had
used it
the way others
want it
if they had it
i tell myself
that it would have
been better
if this body
is the body of the
one i love
it would have been
more useful
perhaps lovelier
and i would have
been happier
my body is silent and indifferent
it has no independent mind of its own
it is one of those shells
where the hermit crab dwells

Can't Fall Asleep
My thoughts keep me up at night,
my tears put me to sleep,
my dreams wake me up,
after only an hour of sleep.
I can't rest no more,
I can't fall back to sleep,
so I lie in bed for hours at a time,
watching the clock as the time keeps going by.
I toss and I turn,
trying to find something comforable,
but when I'm almost asleep,
my thoughts wake me up again.
So I lay there thinking the thoughts,
that wont leave me alone.
I try time and time again,
but I cant fall back to sleep.
Finally I fall asleep,
but then i quickly hear a noise,
it is my alarm telling me to get up for the day ahead,
but it doesnt realize that I've been up all night.
Thinking, thinking of those thoughts that won't let me sleep.
So I quickly turn off the annoying buzzing noise,
and there I lay in my bed,
dreading the day ahead.

Late Nights
Stiff neck
Aching body
wet eyes
Can't sleep
Only thing
One her mind
Is her
She's always up
Late at night
Writing poems about her girlfriend
Some sweet some bitter
Wondering about their future
Regreting her past
Thinking about the times she's hurt her
and how all this could have been prevented if
She never would have grabbed her hand at that carnival

The Limitations Of The Body...
sometimes i forget that i have a body
it is only when i eat that i remember i have one
but most of the times
i am full and so i almost forget all about this body
i am feeding it with wrong things
ideas, more ideas,
i am covering it with mysteries that it cannot relate because
a body is just a body
earthly, mundane
clay,
stick, creepy
skin, hair
sunken eyes,
trembling hands
it is flesh, bones, cartilages,
and
nerves, and when all these nerves take revenge on me
i shall finally lose this body
which i welcome somehow
because i have not experienced it yet
fully
i live in the mind,
my castle is in my imagination,
and i eat nothing for the day
but words
and i drink nothing for the day but ink
and i touch nothing for the day
but keys
the body is forgotten and so are my chains,
my prisons, my
dark rooms,
my body, this fetter,
this
ball and chain that hold me
in hunger and pain and
thirst and
constant urination,
disturbing
defecation
sometimes i like to become nothing but air
so you cannot see me anymore so i can go places and be lost forever
because i am not this body,
and i do not want to be caught in here
a little longer.
