Morning Blues.....
i sit beside a soft
sky blue curtain
as i face the monitor
and i am taking the pains
of sight
i decide to stretch my
hands to the
ceiling
and breathe
deep and take my gaze
beyond this
old glass window
out there is the old house
that i see here
everyday
the caretaker
has taken the weeds this morning
and the land appears
naked
as some trees are
cut to give way to a
space of
sunshine
the rusty grills and
roof tops are
newly painted
a face-lift of
an insignificant landscape
of a house and
mini
forest
despite these new
mechanics
there is nothing
significant in this day
i go back to work
concentrate on my fingers
tire my brain
and think that i should not have
been
swayed by
small outbursts of
emotions which should not
have interfered
in my
bread and butter thing
i am split and
two faced and i feel like i am
a Picasso painting of
a woman
who is afraid to
focus in one
direction
i like to be a bust of
a hero
staring at anyone who
pass me and
give them that sense of
guilt
that the real mission
and the noble purpose
of life
is always
unaccomplished

Never Give Up
Visions that can change the world
Trapped inside an ordinary girl
She looks just like me
Too afraid to dream out loud
I know it sensible idea
It won't make sense to everybody
You need courage now
If you're gonna persevere
To fulfill your life's purpose
You're gotta answer when you're called
So don't be afraid to face the world
Against all odds
Keep the dream alive don't let it die, if something deep inside
Keeps inspiring you to try, don't stop
And never give up; don't ever give up on you
Don't give up
Every victory comes in time
Work today to change tomorrow
It gets easier
Used to say that you can't fly?
Every step you take you get
Closer to your destination
You can feel it now
Don't you know you're almost there?
To fulfill your life's purpose
You're gotta answer when you're called
So don't be afraid to face the world
Against all odds
Keep the dream alive don't let it die, if something deep inside
Keeps inspiring you to try, don't stop
And never give up; don't ever give up on you...
Sometimes life can place a stumbling block in your way
But you've gotta keep the faith
Bring what's deep inside your heart
To Light
And never give up
Don't ever give up on you,
Do't give up
Who holds the pieces to complete the puzzle?
The answer that can solve all mystery
The key that can unlock your understanding
It's all inside of you
You have everything you need
So, keep the dream alive don't let it die
If something deep inside keeps inspiring you to try

A House Without Stairs
do not say
that without the stairs
the house is not a house anymore
without the ceiling
the more the house becomes to me
take the roof
if you want
or the beams
or even the floor and window frames
my house will still be a house
the sky its roof
the stretching grassy plain its floor
all the stars become
my magnificent ceiling
whatever is taken
we must imagine that all things are still there
lest we only have a house
that crashes on the floor
with all of us
dead
crushed to the death of
our imaginations
a door without an exit
because you have not seen hope coming
the lock and key
are all in the mind and heart

The Independent Woman....
we are in this house
that from our sweat built
there are only two of us
in this house
which we have not really
called as home,
something's missing
you give me a hint
not the glass window or
the ceiling fan,
i know it but how can i
tell you?
i won't tell, it will hurt you,
we continue living
somehow
just the two of us in this house
we have our own careers
and every morning we rush to go on our different ways
the night is the only place
of our tryst
we manage to spend time for love
we sleep together and share
what we can
there will be a time when this house shall fall
because it is not a home for us all
there will be one morning when you will finally leave
and take away everything from me
and then i will write it on the wall
this house is never a home,
she never wanted a child to bear.

Bedroom Karoake
Pink Champagne & I
love your hair...eh?
With a hairbrush
I sing
(prancing like a prat)
doing Rosemary Clooney
doing her thing.
Come on a my house... my house a come on
Come on a my house...my house a come on
Come on a my house...to my house
I’m gonna give ya candy!
You in stitches
having never seen a naked man sing
an old 1950’s song
from his childhood.
I have never seen
a naked woman
laugh so much
You snatch
the hairbrush
& tantalisingly turn the song
into improper suggestion.
Come on a my house.. a my house
I’m gonna give you
Everything...everything...everything!
I come...I come!

The House with Nobody in It
Whenever I walk to Suffern along the Erie track
I go by a poor old farmhouse with its shingles broken and black.
I suppose I've passed it a hundred times, but I always stop for a minute
And look at the house, the tragic house, the house with nobody in it.
I never have seen a haunted house, but I hear there are such things;
That they hold the talk of spirits, their mirth and sorrowings.
I know this house isn't haunted, and I wish it were, I do;
For it wouldn't be so lonely if it had a ghost or two.
This house on the road to Suffern needs a dozen panes of glass,
And somebody ought to weed the walk and take a scythe to the grass.
It needs new paint and shingles, and the vines should be trimmed and tied;
But what it needs the most of all is some people living inside.
If I had a lot of money and all my debts were paid
I'd put a gang of men to work with brush and saw and spade.
I'd buy that place and fix it up the way it used to be
And I'd find some people who wanted a home and give it to them free.
Now, a new house standing empty, with staring window and door,
Looks idle, perhaps, and foolish, like a hat on its block in the store.
But there's nothing mournful about it; it cannot be sad and lone
For the lack of something within it that it has never known.
But a house that has done what a house should do,
a house that has sheltered life,
That has put its loving wooden arms around a man and his wife,
A house that has echoed a baby's laugh and held up his stumbling feet,
Is the saddest sight, when it's left alone, that ever your eyes could meet.
So whenever I go to Suffern along the Erie track
I never go by the empty house without stopping and looking back,
Yet it hurts me to look at the crumbling roof and the shutters fallen apart,
For I can't help thinking the poor old house is a house with a broken heart.

Taking Over Me
You don't remember me, but I remember you
I lie awake and try so hard not to think of you
But who can decide what they dream, and dream I do.
I believe in you
I'll give up everything just to find you
I have to be with you
To live, to breathe
You're taking over me
Have you forgotten all I know and all we had
You saw me mourning my love for you and touched my hand
I knew you loved me then
I believe in you
I'll give up everthing just to find you
I have to be with you
To live, to breathe
You're taking over me
I look in the mirror and see your face
If I look deep enough
So many things inside that just like you
Are taking over
I believe in you
I'll give up everthing just to find you
I have to be with you
To live, to breathe
You're taking over me

Shifts
you shift from poetry
with regret you must
get into the ramifications
of the law of bread and
butter, you want to kill
time and just lay there,
the law, the law, how
dry can these laws be,
you gaze outside the
window, sighing, looking
to the blue sea and
feeling the breeze salty
to your brain, ahhh, it
is this salt of the earth,
talking. I shift my head
now to these lines,
i live for the moment.
now, back to what i
detest, this bread, this
butter, i too live here.

Passing Through
Wet blades in the shade of an old house
Scatter as a mouse shatters the dew,
On this morning as i pass through.
A city asleep beneath a deep eastern ray
Is herlded from slumber by a trumpeting jay,
Who christens the day anew,
On this morning as i pass through.
Golden hair and a rare trace of green
Can be seen, transfigured in the treetops
By autumn’s brush as a thrush scampers from view,
On this morning as i pass through.
Dawn’s drowsiness is shaken as a baby awakens
To the city’s soft ceiling of blue,
On this morning as i pass through.

Outside Your Window
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I feel the seconds slowly pass,
Whilst you I anxiously await.
And behind the glowing glass;
I glimpsed a fading candlelight.
And I with hope was filled and so:
Wished I for love and life this night.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I see through the looking glass,
To find my missing soulmate.
And when the light finally flew;
When darkness swamped the room:
A wide smile on my face drew;
And waited I for you to bloom.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I feel my feelings all amass,
As I your beauty contemplate.
Seconds felt forever;
Nor beauty I did see.
All alone my eyes did glitter;
Whilst wondering where you would be!
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I walked on in your impasse;
Wishing it's not yet too late.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I lonesome stood for long alas!
And didn't notice your window grate.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I tried to drag out of that morass,
Myself; and my lost senses locate.
Outside Her Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I watched my heart swiftly by a lass,
Gets stolen; and did my soul sedate.
Outside Her Window;
I still pass by everyday.
Outside Her Window;
I can't just turn and walk away.
Outside Her Window;
I still have hope that she might show.
Outside Her Window;
I watch my life pass by so slow.
Outside Your Window;
And in the hands of fate:
I once awaited you alone all night.
But now I know: it's just too late!

Space Between All Things
All the walls of your house,
were painted in deep blue,
you're at that indecisive age to choose colours that reflect you,
and everything and nothing,
is in the space between all things,
that fascinates as much as it agitates,
words turn me into what I say,
as you pull your yellow stained fingers,
through your un-kept hair,
I noticed that the corners of your jeans,
were folded neatly into squares,
your thoughts are the strangest place that you've ever been,
stranger even than Los Angeles,
it's like a cinema where they never ask you to leave,
So while you wait and are you wait,
and concentrate on being as far away,
from fate so while you wait,
and concentrate on being as far away,
She had a north Atlantic film star grace,
that's why her tears are out of place,
that kind sadness has more style,
so nothing will make her smile,
except as soon as anything happens,
she'll drag me on the street,
and hand in hand we stand protesting,
while everyone is still asleep,
So while you wait and are you wait,
and concentrate on being as far away,
from fate so while you wait,
and concentrate on being as far away,
so while you wait and are you wait,
and concentrate on being as far away,
from fate so while you wait,
and concentrate on being as far away,
Are you wait,
are you wait,
are you wait,
are you waaait,

A House for Four
A house for four
What is it? a house for four
A dingy looking thing
Are there windows? none
What is it? a house for four
Such a palace
Are there greetings? none
What is it? a house for four
Why the space is so small
Is there privacy? none
What is it? a house for four
A dozen creeps could be creeping there
Is there any trust? none
Don't judge me for mine
Poor fool i wont
Even give you the time
Are you judging me?
Your quite the choir
With a cracking voice
And
A tall house that falls
To scrutiny
A house for four and
A house for four
A people of choir and
A people of poor
Do you not recognize
The stains are yours?
A house is not a house
Unless there is more
More and more
Sometimes less is more

Because I Am Blind With You I Can See
i ask for your fingers and you were so kind
you touch me with the gentle feel of such
tiny ten tributaries
with so much love your fingers have become a set
of loving hands
and you take me to places i have not been before
to things i have not ever touched
to feelings i have never felt
this is our house, you first tell me, feel the living room
it is warm and cozy and full of concerned conversations,
this is actually what we call a home,
and you are here
you are telling me with the definite and bold strokes
of your choice of words
and this is the window, you continue telling me
this is where you see the world outside
those are blue clouds, and i have known blue
through the ice cubes that fill the glass of orange juice
that you give me
those are red roses in the garden, and i feel the red
through the hot tea that you serve me,
and then
you take my hands to your breasts, and you tell me
this is me, and i feel the beating of your heart and you tell me
again
inside is my heart, and with all love you are telling me again
you are always here
and this
i have felt, and since then i am never blind.

Aching Eyes And Neck Pains
aching eyes and
back and neck pains, they do not really matter
once i face this monitor
i assume i have many things to say
after a day's work. I TAKE pride about the
matters unsaid. I take note of the words
kept hidden inside my hair. They want
to jump and assume the shape of some
fleas.BITERS. bitter biters, for they were made
to be silent as we keep on doing
our own bread and butter thing
my eyes are aching. I feel the pain on my neck.
there is this burden, and this burden is the burden
of a writer, a poet, and it keeps on saying
write me, write me now: about a girl whose
father betrayed her, about a man whose fortune
is stolen in the blink of an eye
he died.she was thrown in the river
and the fish ate her in tiny pieces.
there is this little boy who imitated my actions
and he was laughing and i was laughing too,
i never thought that my hands are as clumsy as his
or his words too disappointing
the world is telling me: it is enough
too much of you is already suffocating
it is telling me that i must quit
but how can i? there is this little boy that keeps
on taunting me
to play again along the sands of the shore
and make my new sandcastles
it is not too dark yet, and he says it is still time
there is still time to play....
i get out of the car. It is raining. I look at the sky.
Drink some rain. I get wet.
It is not enough. It is never enough. There is still this little boy
in me. His eyes are always in wonder.
and so the poems keep on coming.
I close the car. I look at the trees.
How green are these trees! Greener than green.
How blue are the clouds! Bluer than blue.
And i really like all that i see.
This little child in me. Giggling.

A Radio With Guts
it was on the 2nd floor on Coronado Street
I used to get drunk
and throw the radio through the window
while it was playing, and, of course,
it would break the glass in the window
and the radio would sit there on the roof
still playing
and I'd tell my woman,
"Ah, what a marvelous radio!"
the next morning I'd take the window
off the hinges
and carry it down the street
to the glass man
who would put in another pane.
I kept throwing that radio through the window
each time I got drunk
and it would sit there on the roof
still playing-
a magic radio
a radio with guts,
and each morning I'd take the window
back to the glass man.
I don't remember how it ended exactly
though I do remember
we finally moved out.
there was a woman downstairs who worked in
the garden in her bathing suit,
she really dug with that trowel
and she put her behind up in the air
and I used to sit in the window
and watch the sun shine all over that thing
while the music played.

Let Them Be
let the shoes come and accommodate your feet
and the gloves your hands
and your shirt and pants let them all come near you
and wear your body
let all of them come
let them be let them be
let them have you
the shoes will take you to the door of the house
the home you are longing
the stairs meet you
and the windows open like eyes looking out to another face
the floors and ceiling give you a space
where you can sit with the chair
that opens its arms
a glass serves you milk
or orange juice, tell it what you want
to quench your thirst
a saucer, a plate, a spoon and fork
they all come before your hands
some muffins and jelly
they all come before your mouth
they all come to feed your hunger
this is your home now.
Destiny is waiting.
You do not do a thing.
They all do it for you.
There is no worry.
Destiny does it for you.You see.

Pass The Jam
I don't care
They're crazy
Said pass the jam, would you
Awfully kind of you
Now wouldn't it be a little bit nice to sing with this
Gazing at the open door
Just what lays behind
Thinking what I'm looking for
Say what's on my mind
Sinking ever deeper
In the words of guilt of shame
And now I can redeem myself
I just don't care
The words I'm singing they're just right
That's better for my brain
If I try to make much sense
You know I'll go insane
I just don't care
I just don't care
Stay and have some jam with tea
But Brutus wasn't kind
Wasn't strawberries that were red
He wasn't cutting bread
You pass the jam
And so he slammed the tea
?????? here to me
Was in the conservatory
Yeah, alright
Yes, but still over there
Sinking ever deeper
In the words of guilt and shame
I can redeem myself
I just don't care
Staring at the silver spoon
Take it from your mouth
Take it from the chapter
Turn and face the south
Now face the north
And the east
And the west
And the ?serpent song?
Still burning on in the night
Where's the sun at midnight
Say it's gone
Where's the moon at dawn
It carries on and on
It never ends
To the land of nevermore
Where time began
Where the man still stands
And the ??'x'?? at the end
Never know that I sang
You'll all know it's the right place
In time, well it is
The words I'm singing
That's just right
They're better for my brain
If I try to make much sense
You know I'll go insane

Soulfire
Every morning as I wake to another day
I bow my head hit my knees and I begin to pray
I search for answers that I wonder if I'll ever find
Running circles in the mazes deep inside my mind
You always take me to a higher level
Show something that's deep inside
You show me things I never knew
You push me you pull me
You set my soul on fire
You take me so much higher
Higher again
Thank you for it all
Everyday living this life not knowing what it means
Consolation from above fulfilling all my dreams
And as I look across the crowd in their eyes I see
All their troubles and their pain staring back at me
You always take me to a higher level
You show me something that's deep inside
You show me things I never knew
You push me you pull me
You always give the best for me
Lift your hands high right where I can see
You always give the best for me
Lift your hands high right where I can see

Find Your Face
I don’t know how it looks to you
But you know more than I want to you.
Pull back your hair for me and let me know how you feel
Run my fingers through your hair, can you tell me is it real?
Look me in the eye when you say
You’re feeling blue in every way.
Reflections tainted through distorted eyes
Abstraction painted green the skies
Loosing sense of sense experience
Your body outside yourself and lost
Frozen deep in the porcelain frost,
Lost in inner space, am I
Faceless without a faith in the sky?
Find your face; leave your mask at home upon the shelf
Find your face, your faith, your self.
The true self White King is crowned
Only a shadow of the Ego exiled remains.
His memory dismantled in dark waters is drowned.
Ignore the feeling you’ve been here before
Start the dance of healing, leave inhibitions at the door.
For what is it you ask of me?
Is it not always for a little more?
