Meanwhile
outside the children fly their kites
meanwhile
we stand here by the side of the railings
meeting the
winds of change
tell me, what is it? what is it really?
will this be forever?
will this be the last of what we can
give?
will this be
simply kites?

Used as kites, these rigid stable aeroplanes are superior to the very best cellular kites I can make; they are lighter, pull harder per square foot, attain a greater angle of elevation, and have fewer parts.

Bitter Chocolate
The last dropp of sleep
Slurped by the wily night
I flew kites against
The erratic insomniac air
They once lifted me up
And equally pulled me down
Just the thread in my hands
Didn't really make me a kite-flyer!
The kites flew at their will
Somersaulting like
The best of gymnasts
performing on the darkest sky
Colourful dots losing their colour
On the darkest skies
Winds at their wits
Me, a non-entity!
I, like a dry river-bed
Fail to squeeze out
Even a single dropp
To quench my thirst for sleep!
'Bitter Chocolate'
More bitter on my tongue
Muffled voices of the abused
Kicked one another violently
Against my invisible walls...

The Kites
the kites
take pride of their freedom
befriending the proud winds
and elbowing with the hands of the great sun
they swim in the clouds
and sing the songs of the mighty and the free
they look down
and to lowly places and creatures frown
forgetting perhaps
the strings that tie them to the hands
of children

14th January
! 4th January is called here as Uttrayan
Tilting of Sun from South to Uttar (North)
The position of sun will alter
The days from now onwards will be longer
Sky will be full of kites
The slogans will be chanted with full religious rites
Whole population will be on roof top
The kites will be flying non stop
Billions of rupees will be spent on kites
Many birds will loose their lives
The loss of human lives too from free fall
Religious fever with all advices to receive unheeded call
It has witnessed age long tradition
Old or young take part without any reservation
Festival of great fervor with message and joy
Open for all irrespective of anything to participate and enjoy
Not in many parts but in some of the Indian parts it is known
The Chinese are believed to be originator with tradition to own
The favorable wind bring competition to the climax
Complete holiday to spend the day with joy and relax
The climate change is linked with the festival
The spring also coincides with its arrival
The winter may be losing its grip from here on
The hard climate may soon be forgotten or gone

Ye Flags of Picadilly
Ye flags of Piccadilly,
Where I posted up and down,
And wished myself so often
Well away from you and town--
Are the people walking quietly
And steady on their feet,
Cabs and omnibuses plying
Just as usual in the street?
Do the houses look as upright
As of old they used to be,
And does nothing seem affected
By the pitching of the sea?
Through the Green Park iron railings
Do the quick pedestrians pass?
Are the little children playing
Round the plane-tree in the grass?
This squally wild northwester
With which our vessel fights,
Does it merely serve with you to
Carry up some paper kites?
Ye flags of Piccadilly,
Which I hated so, I vow
I could wish with all my heart
You were underneath me now!

Reality...two
three well covered farmers
plow the rice fields
beating the carabao
under a drizzle of soft rain
this november
at the right side of this scenery
a herd of carabaos graze
vast expanse of grass and
beside them two children flying kites.
on the telephone wire
two finches watch

Life has a force
Kites fly when winds blow.
Sparrows can fly anytime.
Logs floats along the currents.
Fish can swim anyway.

Butterflies And Kites...Goodnight
Balloons on strings,
Sailing, bouncing June
Into July kites skimming
Tails like afternoon
Mosquito hawks on quiet
Water. There! The butterfly
Making its rounds of
Moonflowers' snow petals
Enticing emerald hummingbirds,
Giant moths soundlessly
Fluttering topaz and ruby
Wings. Again! The butterfly
Dips, bobs angel-blue wings.
Balloons, kites, put away
For the night. Hummingbirds,
Butterflies vanish....
There is peace....

Destiny Traps
Hold your kites before fly its
And feel the winds blow
See if there is cumulonimbus
Because after the kite fly in the sky
Ones couldn’t stops it
Or you lose it
Only left benign on yours hand
Kite like mans body
Whether wind like mind and spirits
If you not account the balance
You will come to the destiny-traps
And ask to the God
Built life is not in justice
And then left our children
Bad world for there grow up
And bad words for their families
Bad think for everything

The Kiteflier
And as I heave these strings
closer into my stagnancy
the more they break away
and set off farther from
my cold and distant musing
I watched their ponderous flight
as I mar my fingers in trying
to hold their vestiges together
but all is sullen into futility
As they drive past the clouds -
leave the fringes of my horizon
and unyeild to all my veerings
I am enthused to take flight
and let go of all reveries
But now that I lost them,
these mangled hand is empty
I am taxxed with derision
and blame is upon these fear
enshrouding my entity
When the kiteflier managed
to make all his kites fly
to the point of unfettering them
that he lost all his kites,
then who remains of him?
and when can he break the strings
that kept him tethered to the grounds?

A wind bird chirps on a Raintree by the kite shop
Poor children with their holey pockets
Just come and see only never buy a kite,
And the heavy rains fall.
Kites prefer to rest in the shop
Their entire life as they are scared of the fanatical war planes
Fly in the hopeless sky.

You Know
Lived my life to the extreme
Ive been waisting my time with lies
Lived my life from dream to dream
You have awaken the beast that sleeps
Ill be forever here, around you day and night
Ill never let you down, Ill stay right here
You know that I will always stand by your side
You know that what weve got is stronger than pride
You know there is nothing I wouldnt do
Ill always stay with you
You must give me half a change
I am not what I used to be
I know this sudden change
Must be confusing for you to see
Ill be forever here, around you day and night
Ill never let you down, Ill stay right here
You know that I will always stand by your side
You know that what weve got is stronger than pride
You know there is nothing I wouldnt do
Ill always stay with you
Ill be forever here, around you day and night
I just want you to know where I am
I just want to make sure that you know......
Well always stand by your side
What weve got is stronger than pride
You know there is nothing I wouldnt do
Ill always stay with you

Would ya stand (revised edition)
on that day a question came by
surrounded by the blue sky
i held your hand in mine
i knelt down as the wind felt just fine
i knew i needed to ask you
something you had to know an answer too
(this is the chorus)
would ya stand right here by my side
as the world gave us chide after chide
telling us we would never be
that you would never be with me
and i would never be with you
that we would never be together forever
forever o yes together forever forever o yes
they just said hush
stop joking it will never happen
whats wrong with you huh
the answer you will hate
you will never again have a clean slate
you ask her and she will slap you'
but i said no and knelt
(repeat chorus) would ya stand right here by my side
as the world.... (etc the rest of chorus) would ya stand right here
my (hold for 3 beats) dear
would you never dare
to leave me that you would always care
and stand right here with me
o so willingly and o so happily
stand and hold me
stand here with me
be with me forever
but answer my question
would ya stand o darling would ya stand right by my SIDE! ! ! ! !
and now that i know
i have already begun to show
that you will be with me
and i will be with you
and i will love you and now i know you will love me too
would ya stand! ! ! ! would ya stand!
yes my dear my dear i! ! ! know! ! ! you! ! ! would! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
And We will be together forever forever o yes together forever forever o yes

The Poet of Legacy
the restless children run to the higher ground as the kites flying to an open sky
under the clouds, clouds which are so eager to shell shock them with a friendly
turbulence, which would make the kites, spin around haywire. the tall grass has covered
most of the old battlefield, which was once witnessed thousands of young lives perished during the World War 2, protecting the nearby port from enemies of the east. my father was one of the localities who fought the war not only for his country but for the ambitious imperialist from the west, as well. most of his comrades were killed during the battle and it was actually the beginning of the new era, a new ruler, under the ‘red sun’.
my father was captured and was sent to the infamous Changi Prison as a prisoner of war.
he survived the ordeals, which many could not have managed. today, i am the legacy, to continue the gallantry of a man who had lived throughout the manmade hell bravely, not with weaponry, but with brain and pens, writing poetry. i’ll be the poet; many poets would envy. i’ll be the poet; many readers would want to be. i’ll be the poet; many women would like to see. God gives lives to my father, to have me be born, and to continue the legacy.

The World Where You Want Me To Live
the day you met me
you claim it is a beautiful day
blue clouds, cool green trees on the meadows
some mountain mists hanging still like dreams
you ask for my name
and you said you will like me on that beautiful day
you want me flying kites on the wind
i flew kites with colors
you want me to run with you on the soft grass
towards the sea where the breeze plays some games with the locks
of our hair
i obey with a smile and always cater to your wishes and dreams
whatever wherever whenever you feel like going and doing
you ask me to tell stories
i tell you stories that please you: fairylands, prince and princess in the
castles in the clouds, and you really like me, you want me to stay
i cannot.everything are lies.you are a lie. i am a lie.
we live on what pleases, we live in a world without pain.
it is not my world,
i live in the world of pain, this darkness for years, and this
you must know
all these are what please me, this world that you do not imagine
this world that your mind thinks
does not exist
i have long accepted, i am human

Kites
The distraught weather passed
above the ponderous hands
of icicles and charcoals
and amongst these phantasms
I watched a phalanx of
unfettered kites adrift
the lackadaisical paunch clouds
and the willowing of their
cavernous vaults
The diamond shadows -
perfectly symmetrical
and atrociously sharp -
casted ominous patterns
on my lifeless body
staring at their distant flight
and writhing amongst
the felled autumn leaves
Dry as an unaddressed telegram,
I linger here futilely until
every words etched on the
ornate hollowness of my tableau
would just be meaningless words
and eloquent alphabets
cursively stroked without
empathy and desire
This is my stalemate fate:
watching the weather take
pivots and forever molt,
and I implore for nothing more
but more of your generous pain
until I drown and learn
to breath underwater -
until I can be like dead soldiers
marching across the wrathful fusillade:
apathy is an armada and
amnesia is a vanguard
But the kites grew faces
and dancing lips and
I have become the gnarled loops
on the flat lines of their strings.
