Life Is What We Make It, You Are Saying That Again
and how many times will you tell me that
once, in your pocket poetry
once, you read it when you were so drunk
unable to take the right step
and say the right syllabication of your words
tipsy, you fall all alone by yourself
while i watch you
telling myself that this is another kind of life
wasted
then you are telling me again this time
when we are together going to the fields
of our own wars
as we hold our guns and read the maps
and trail the ways of the forest
life is what you make it
there seems to be an error somewhere
life is what we make it brother
we work as a team, a community, a nation, a country
a wall stronger than just anyone of us
we shall make it
we shall keep this struggle
as a nation, not just anyone of us, tipsy and drunk and hopeless
and falling alone
with the mere whisper of the wind, the whimper of the common enemy

For You Love Me...
my forehead has dirt
there is shit on my cheek
my arms are dusty
and my hands are getting clumsy
my feet are muddy
and my lips are cracked
i am tipsy and drunk
and with someone else
on some cheap bed
yet when i come back
you make me still feel
that sense of home
you kiss my forehead
touch my cheeks with
your kind hands
and tell me
you miss me so much
and as i am tipsy and
drunk
you offer me hot green
tea
you open the door of
the house
and let me step again
inside the room
of love
full of affection
we embrace again
nothing about history
nothing about
what i must say
because you always
tell me
that whatever happens
you will always love me
now, who wants to be
away from you?

Live It Up
Live it up, and let it go
Your time is up before you know
In a world full of wonder
Dont let your troubles pull you under
Youre telling me your life is tough
And what you need is stronger stuff
Well you can live under sedation
Or get up and cause an overnight sensation
Woah, live it up
Life is what you make it
Woah, live it up
Its right there for you to take it
You sit and watch your mtv
You dream away in a fantasy
If you dont dig the situation
Then get a guitar and rock the nation
You cant hold back once you light the fuse
And if it feels alright, then let it roll
You got nothin to lose
Woah, live it up
Life is what you make it
Woah, live it up
Its right there for you to take it

Lost Horizons
The last horizons I can see are filled with bars and factories
And in them all we fight to stay awake...
Drink enough of anything to make this world look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
She had nothing left to say so she said she loved me
I stood there grateful for the lie...
Drink enough of anything to make this girl look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves
Turn summer trees to bones and ice
Turn insect songs against the night
With words we build and words we break
Im drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves...
Drink enough of anything to make myself look new again
Drunk drunk drunk in the gardens and the graves

National Stability
Stable is under authority a wise country,
For a better work collapsed into mere beauty.
Hatred was better to pick on Earth,
As for love I preside over it, like it.
Country after nation after world parliament
Can upset royal marriages from preserving
Dignity.
Selfless work was stopped by strangers of going
And gone was the reward offered by selfishness.
An enemy is opposition fought by the public,
By the population.
Enemies must define a boundary and persevere
On the grounds of an own reasoning - a fault is to batter.
Borders are fixed.
Wonders are dismissed.
We are in an underachieving hold, when they are not.
Stable community of the continent
Must make amends or face the aftermath of a great deal.
Wars are fought by the masses, and we are those hungered.
Wars can be victorious when stable-and-wise.

Falling Down
falling down poets,
falling down rain,
falling down reactors,
falling down planes.
hollow men with masks,
hollow dreams, hollow drugs.
hollow patriots, hollow Jesus,
hollow bodies, hollow hugs.
drunk men drunk on power,
drunk preachers drunk on salvation.
drunk drivers lost in the night,
drunk politicians annebriate the nation.
lonely men carry the biggest guns,
lonely children follow behind.
lonely widows blame themselves,
lonely lovers lose their mind.
truth slaps against the glass,
truth breaks down the door.
truth never compromises....
truth kisses the vagabond,
..... and weds the whore....
truth breaks the greedy man,
.... burns down the house,
and feeds the poor!
falling down poets...
falling down rain.
falling down illusions,
falling down pain.

Life is a Battle Field; Fight and Fight
Hello! Hello! Oh, yellow bellied fellow -
Runs for everything yet gets nothing, a lily-livered fellow,
Life is ethereal some say yet cruel i see, oh anserine fellow
Life is a kind of sirocco, lo, chickenhearted fellow.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Childhood is besotted with education - marked by fecklessness,
Youth is wasted in illusion - marked by forlornness,
Mild age is passed in the delusion - harkened by groundlessness,
Old age is lasted in dissimulation - darkened by hopelessness.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Someone says life a fantasy yet be watchful,
Others say life is beautiful yet be dutiful,
Some others say life is a puzzle yet is playful,
Yet others say life is carrying donkeys load yet be cheerful.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!
Life is a battle field; fight and fight till you reach the glory,
Life is a mountain; climb and claim until you reach the top,
Life is a boxing bout; punch and punch till you reach victory,
Life is a marathon race; run and run to reach heaven's sop.
Topsy-turvy life, tipsy-nervy life and Jumpy-jolty life
As my life sucks for bucks - vocalized Booby, Boo! Boo!

I Couldn't Say Goodbye
I watch you as you're sleeping
As I'm standing at the door
I don't want to let you go
But I can't hold on anymore
I just can't find the strength
To say I'm leaving you
It's over now, it's over now
And there's nothing I can do
I couldn't say goodbye
Couldn't stand the pain
Couldn't watch you cry
Knowing that your heart would break
So I let you sleep
Till the morning light
When you wake up and you read the note I write
Telling you that I
I couldn't say goodbye
I'm walking down this rainy street
Thinking you're awake by now
As you read my letter
And the tears fall from your eyes
Just know I tried to make it work
It just wasn't meant to be
I needed you, I needed you
But not the way you needed me
I couldn't say goodbye
Couldn't stand the pain
Couldn't watch you cry
Knowing that your heart would break
So I let you sleep
Till the morning light
When you wake up and you read the note I write
Telling you that I
I couldn't say goodbye
I didn't mean to hurt you
I didn't want to make you cry
It's over now, yes it's over now
I just couldn't say goodbye
I couldn't say goodbye
Couldn't stand the pain
Couldn't watch you cry
Knowing that your heart would break
So I let you sleep
Till the morning light
When you wake up and you read the note I write
Telling you that I
I couldn't say goodbye

Symptoms Of Loneliness & Heartache
(l. stansfield/i. devaney/a. morris)
You need money like youve got no soul
Cant love ever fill that hole
You talk fast but your heart is slow
Cant love ever make you whole
Your laughing at my words right now
But youll end up a tired and lonely man
You tell me love is nothing but wasted time
Well Im telling you its the only way of life
Chorus:
I cant see enjoyment
I dont see compassion
I see symptoms of loneliness and heartache
I dont see emotion or quality of life
Just symptoms of loneliness and heartache
I cant figure out the love we share
I cant see that theres any there at all
You buy me flowers and fancy things
But I need your heart above everything
Your laughing at my words right now
But youll end up a tired and lonely man
You tell me love is nothing but wasted time
Well Im telling you its the only way of life
Chorus x 2
Your laughing at my words right now
But youll end up a tired and lonely man
You tell me love is nothing but wasted time
Well Im telling you its the only way of life
Chorus

Drunks Denial
the drunk will continue on the path of denial
and accepting the truth is not their style.
they can sit at a table and drink a fifth of gin
and for them, it is no sin.
or they can go out to a bar with people all around
get blitzed and fall to the ground.
they will stutter and stammer
and say they are fine
and that all they had was a little wine.
they'll slide behind the wheel
although 'their face they don't feel'.
they'll start the car and then glance around
to make sure there are no cops to be found.
they'll shift the car into gear
of getting caught they have no fear.
at times they will start off at a slow pace
then they will proceed to race.
some will say they need the exhilaration of speed
to maintain the high they need.
some will say they need to get a 'head'.
just so they could go to bed.
no matter what excuse the drunk may think or say
with someone else's life you do not play.
the life you took when you could not see
was someone called 'me'.
you took my life while i was in my prime
'i was gone before my time'.
and that dear drunk is a crime.

Gertrude Stein is interviewed on American poetry
and there was the knocking on the door
that we were expecting
and it was the man
that we were expecting
with the questions we were expecting
to which answers were expected
by those who expect answers
as if life were like that
which for writers it is not
yes, tea was drunk
and after tea the tape recorder set up
so that what I said
I would continue to say
somewhere else
even when I changed my mind
here and nowhere else
and he said Ms Stein
what do you think of American poetry
and we said well it's American
and it's poetry
that's as it should be
and really that's all there is to say
and the man looked disappointed
so we asked him did he read poetry
and he said poetry no I dont read poetry
but my editor does
so I said it's really about Americans
living their lives
that's what American poetry is really about
because Americans move around
and so their words move around and
words in English have lost their intensity
but American words are always on the move
and they are more intense
yes, Americans living among Americans
and talking to their neighbours
if it's not about that
it's not really American poetry at all is it
if it's not about that
then why bother writing poetry
and the man was asking about a rose
being a rose being a rose and we said
for a hundred years the rose
has not been red in poetry
but now for the first time in a hundred years
the rose is red again
and the man looked at his watch
and said thank you Ms Stein
and was switching off his tape recorder
and a month later that
was what we said
in a magazine much read
by Americans who mostly
are not poets no very few but we said it
we know that this is so
because we read it there
and we think that really
that was all there was to say
because that was all we think
is really important
about American Poetry
that the words move like Americans move
and that is exciting for a writer
and that is the important thing about
American Poetry

A Poetic Testimony....
IN MY life i am making poems
numbering in thousands and those who read them
must have felt that i sound like a machine gun to an enemy
it is funny
but it is not intended to be that way
THERE is a wounded snake if you have seen it
if you have once lived in the forest
looking for the herbal cure for its wounds
near the center of its heart
IT IS not only a question of love, but also of hate,
not only life but also of death
not just death but the series of deaths that one experiences
with humanity
Those that love to hate, to injure, to inflict pain
and those that receive this pain, those that taste their wars
those that witness the dying, the dead
those that listen to the unexpected fires and explosions
those that are part of the shattered and the shatters
ONE WORLD
in the nooks of poetry.
Pity and Piety
The Pieta and the Sunless Sea
Clouds of Van Gogh
Guns of the Piedra
ALL THESE
In the hues of the lights of sunsets and sunrises
trying to be captured in the lenses of mere words.
Just listen, watch, just be a spectator
Do not say any word.
Savor.Do not complain.
If bad, just spit it out. Go, go, go.

Watch Your Step
Dont say a word
Dont say anything
Dont say a word
Im not even listening
I read in the paper about their escape
Theyre just two bitter kids with a bunch of sour grapes
You better watch your step
Watch whos knocking on your front door
Now you know that theyre watching
What are you waiting for?
Think youre young and original
Get out before...
They get to watch your step
Evry day is full of fun
And family spice
Theyre making heroes out of fall guys
They say its good for business
From singapore to widnes
You better watch your step
Broken noses hung up on the wall
Back slapping drinkers cheer the heavy weight brawl
So punch drunk they dont understand at all
You better watch your step
Evry night
Go out full of carna-al desires
End up in the closing time choirs
When youre kicking in the cot room
And youre drinking down the eau de cologne
And youre spitting out the kodachrome
You better watch your step
Bye
I send you all my regards
Youre so tough
Youre so hard
Listen to the hammers falling in the breakers yard
You better watch your step
You better watch your step
Ooh, watch your step

Mirror Mirror
Mirror, mirror
Up on the wall in the back of the room
As I walk down the hall in the house where I stayed
Tell me something about what I saw in the face of a man
Who once felt it all but feels nothing today
Knock knock
Who's there
I don't know, I can't say
Ask me tomorrow
I'll tell you the same
Ooh, I'm telling you now
I'm telling you now
Ooh, I'm telling you now
I'm telling you now
Trouble trouble
Down in my hood where it's well understood
They love when you're bad
And they hate when you're good
Tell me something about who we are at the end of our days
When our souls become one but our lives separate
Knock knock
Who's there
I don't know I can't say
Ask me tomorrow
I'll tell you the same
Ooh, I'm telling you now
I'm telling you now (It's bound to make you smile)
Ooh, I'm telling you now
I'm telling you now (It's bound to make you smile)
It's bound to make you smile

What is Life
Life is everywhere that you look,
Some people might say that life sucks,
While other people might say life is beautiful,
And is full of surprises, that are waiting to be discovered,
Life is whatever you think it may be,
Life is in you now and it shall forever always stay,
Life is the wind howling at you sideways,
Life is the winter, summer, spring, and fall,
Life is sad and life is lonely,
Life can be evil and Life is blunt,
Life is a true friend that never lies to you,
Life is all about you and how you treat it,
Life is what you make of it,
If you criticize life, then your criticizing yourself,
Its all up to you on whether you like it, or hate it,
I am life, you are life, we are life,
Life loves me and I love life back,
Life is you, so be careful on how you describe it,
Don’t base life off of what others say,
But base life off, of what you think it is,
Your words are stronger then others opinions,
So take those words and put them to use,
I am life, you are life, we are life!

Beautiful Occupation
Don't just stand there watching it happening
I can't stand it don't feel it
Something telling me
Don't wanna go out this way
Have a nice day
Read it in the headlines
Watch it on the tv
Put it in the background
Stick it in the back
Stick it in the back
For the beautiful occupation
The beautiful occupation
Don't need an invitation
To drop in upon a nation
Up to city come
I'm just sittin here
I'm just wastin my time
Half a million civilians gonna die today
They looked the wrong way
Read it in the headlines
Watch it on the tv
Put it in the background
Stick it in the back
Stick it in the back
For the beautiful occupation
The beautiful occupation
you don't need an invitation
to drop in upon a nation
Don't just stand there watching it happening

So much for an intervention
Don't call the united nations

Dreaded Requests
I am not a rude or ignorant man,
but there are some things,
that I will not do.
Unfortunately, I do not like
to read a lot of what
I am politely requested to read.
I am often bombarded by people
asking me to read
and comment on their work.
I do not like to be rude
and ignore their pleas,
but I just read what I like,
not what I am asked to read.
I choose whom I like,
if I see a title I find interesting
I will take the time to read it
and make a mental note of the author.
If I like what I read,
I will dip into that author’s work
time and time again.
I do not care if they read my work or not
that is their choice and I have mine.
All I ask is let me make up my own mind.
Do not bombard me with notes
requesting that I read your work,
as I am likely to ignore them.
I am not being rude or ignorant
it is I just do not do requests.

Life on Hold
As your dreaming one night,
a voice speaks to you telling
you this, 'Look at yourself
from the outside, step out of your
body and take a look.'
'What do you see? Put your life on
pause and look around of what
you have become, click the re-wind
button of your life, stopping here and there,
playing some parts, passing others by.
Now fast foreward to the present,
look at your self the way others do.
Are there changes you can make, I do
think you can do better, so why
don't you give it a try.'
Waking up, you look around the room,
you're all alone, still you wonder,
tomorrow changes you will make.

Writings On The Wall
The writings on the wall brother
Your life is in your hands
Its up to you to see the writings on the wall.
It looks you in the eye mister
Its time we stand up tall
Go see and understand the writings on the wall.
Strange we hold on to things that have no grace
Or power
While death holds on to us much more with every
Passing hour
And all the time you thought it would last
Your life, your friends would always be
til theyre drunk away or shot away or die away
From you.
Theres nothing that you need sister
The lord is in you all
Life is designed to see the writings on the wall.
The musics in the air mothers
You may have heard it call
To you that you may see the writings on the wall.
Be careful going home sister
Be watchful down that road
Youve got a lot of love sister
More to grow.
The writings on the wall brothers
Your life is in your hands
Its up to you to see the writings on the wall
I hope that you may see the writings on the wall.
