Legitimate Suffering
try knowing what
suffering is
the legitimate one
the one
that is innate and
not given
by another
take the non-sysiphusian
style
don't roll the stone
downhill
and don't bother
taking it back
again to its former
position

Roll Away The Stone
Baby, if you say you still care, I follow you most anywhere
Roll away the stone, roll away the stone
And in the darkest night, Ill keep you safe and alright
Roll away the stone, roll away the stone
Wont you roll away the stone, why be cold and so alone
Wont you roll away the stone, dont you let it lie
No matter if fools say we cant win, I know Ill fall in love again
Roll away the stone, roll away the stone
So sing, we still got a chance, baby for love and sweet romance
Roll away the stone, roll away the stone
Wont you roll away the stone...
..dont you let it die
Just kick it away..

Stone Of Sisyphus *
Tomorrow is teasing me.
Time seems to run away from the future.
But this could be that lucky day.
A dream is make believe until
Blood, sweat, and tears turn pain to will.
It's gonna take some doing for me
To show them the way.
I'm gonna take the stone of sisyphus
I'm gonna roll it back to you.
Building a wall of stone.
Sometimes you know what's right
Sometimes wrong is better than nothing.
They cast a stone so heavy to turn.
I believe in a love so true.
I believe you get what's coming to you.
We get so tired of living a dream
For some other day.
I'm gonna take the stone of sisyphus
I'm gonna roll it back to you.
Wall of stone around the two of us.
That only angels can break through.
Looks like it's another of those long nights.
Will we always be alone?
Let's not stop before it's done.
I'm gonna take the stone of sisyphus
I'm gonna roll it back to you.
I'll take the stone of sisyphus.
Wall of stone round the two of us.
I'm gonna roll it back to you.

The Winner
If I listen to you then Im a winner,
If I take you at your word every day.
Theres nothing that can harm me Im a winner
All the way,
If I take notice of what the words tell me,
Its not too long before Im caught out in the
Rain
Youre the only one who can take me back again.
Taking me back, making me one with you,
Taking me back, making me new.
Taking me back, even when Ive been done
With you,
Taking me back, you keep pulling me through,
To the love that wont give up - with you
Im a winner
Here I am Im a winner
See my world turned it upside down,
Maybe know that Im nothing without you.
Got a brand new style of living with a
Motivation,
When I know my way losing my direction.
Thats when I get hurt with no one else to
Blame
Youre the only one who can heal me taking me
Back again.
Taking me back, making me one with you,
Taking me back, making me new.
Taking me back, even when Ive been done
With you,
Taking me back, you keep pulling me through,
To the love that wont give up here I am a
Winner
Here I am Im a winner.
If I listen to you then Im a winner,
If I take you at your word every day.

Let It Roll
Tried to write a letter
To tell you how I feel
But all I kept on writing
Was slipping on the tears from the day
When I was young and brave
Now all these hotel lobbies are filled with what's to me
Lonely midnight drivers
Drifting out to sea
And all those late night lovers
Don't make things better to me
So let it roll into me
Let it roll into you
Let it roll into me
Let it roll back into when I had you
So I'll watch the snow come calling
And I'll celebrate the spring
I'll feel the falls keep falling
And when the summers come
I will pretend that I don't notice
That this is when I notice most of all
So let it roll into me
Let it roll into you
Let it roll into me
Let it roll back into when I had you
And all you ever wanted for me
Was the time to understand
And all I ever wanted for you
Was to see me shining for you
And I wish that I could be back in the day that I could say
Let it roll
Let it roll into me
Let it roll
Let it roll into you
Let it roll back into when I had you

Brother Trucker
Breaker number nine big buddy
Put your ears on me now
This trucker got to have a big lie tonight
Come on sucker
Come back brother trucker
I keep seeing double
Unless I close one eye
And Ive got to roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Sure enough a shame bout the shape Im in
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Im back on my wheels again
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Someone to love the truck driving man
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Im back on my wheels again
Im a driving fool
I make my own rules
One part man and one part mule
One part fossil fuel
I got the heart of steel
I pull eighteen wheels
Mister nine to five in his coup de ville
No, never know how it feels
To really roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Holding my own just the best as I can
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Im back on my wheels again
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Outward bound from south bend
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Im back on my wheels again
Moon over new jersey
Big state police
Well, Im in a hurry
Could you let me go in peace
Im an independent
I dont make no teamster dough
cause the a.f.l. and the c.i.o.
Still dont own the road
And the only man telling me where to go
Is the man who owns my load
And he says roll, roll, roll brother trucker
I say where and you say when
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Get back on your wheels again
Turn the goddamn thing around and do it again
Roll, roll, roll brother trucker
Im back on my wheels again
Fat bucket, Im back on my wheels again

Taking It Back
I've been away so long I hardly knew the place
Its been too long since I've been gone
Just like a rolling stone I aint got no home
But my boys are back in town
It's been two long years since I've been on the run
From lawyers lovers monies and a lawmans son
You thought it was the last that you heard of me
But you better back up to catch up with me
Cause I'm livin in the fast lane
Speedin like a speed train
Just before I fall, just before I fall off the track
Taking it back
Im taking it back
Taking it back
You took it away took it away
All I can say is we're taking it back
Ive been away so long its good to see your face
Barkeep wont you buy me a round?
We'll raise a glass to the good times past
Then we'll dance this damn place down
Taking it back(Repeat 3x)

You Never Listen To Me
You say not now, its too late
Nows not the time, it can wait
You never listen to me
Some things are hard to forget
Its time to do something you might regret
You never listen to me
I think that you must be blind
Havnt you noticed that Im not around
Waisting your precious time
All that I want
Is knowing that someone will notice me
I cant go on
Knowing that you never bother to listen to me
Losing the will to survive
You never act like you know Im alive
You never listen to me
All that I need
Is knowing that someone remembers me
I cant go on
Knowing that you never bother to listen to me

Stepping Stones
Baby youve been up, broken down
Every man knows your name in this whole damn town
In every bar they know your drink, what should I think
I turned around to look and you gave some dude a wink
I thought Id be happy with a woman like you,
But you walked on my pride and my manhood too
I dont know too much but one thing I know
A man stuck on you is like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
What you forgot to mention, what was your real intention
Did you want a man to love, or someone to prop and carry you up
To a higher status, but the matter of fact is, your detachment
Will bring you further down and now youre all used up
Dont bother coming round
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Well, I remember back to waht you put me thru
I keep thinking to myself
Whats wrong with you
Aint it enough to have a man for a lover and a friend
Tear him up and leave him when the moneys spent
Well, youre just like delilah sittin in her den
You take the strongest man and break em down again
But I have gained some knowledge
Go on pack your things and move back to college
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone
Because you keep using me like a stepping stone

Carve Away The Stone
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
You can roll that stone
To the top of the hill
Drag your ball and chain
Behind you
You can carry that weight
With an iron will
Or let the pain remain
Behind you
Chip away the stone
(sisyphus)
Chip away the stone
Make the burden lighter
If you must roll that rock alone
You can drive those wheels
To the end of the road
You will still find the past right
Behind you
The weight of the load
Try to put the sins of the past night
Behind you
Carve away the stone
(sisyhpus)
Carve away the stone
Make a graven image
With some features of your own
You call roll the stone
To the top of the hill
You can carry that weight
With an iron will
You can drive those wheels
To the end of the road
You can try to deny
The weight of the load
Roll away the stone
(sisyhpus)
Roll away the stone
If you could just move yours
I could get working on my own

Style
Style must not be underrated
Style is often overlooked
Style is never in the papers
I read it like an open book
Style
If you cant see the substance
Style shows how its organized
Style is looking for your money
Its in the way you paint your eyes
There is always a way
A way things are done
Ive been learning my abcs
I know what is 10, I know what is 1 in
Style is a naked look
Underneath your style
Style of a different place
Talking through your style
Even the way you hide it
Reveals the thing you hide
Your style may never cause a riot
Its still a style to have no style
There is always a way
To light up a lamp
Its been a crazy year all around
The check never came
I cant let it cramp my
Style is a world for sale
You cant buy this style
Style that you cant resist
You wont cramp my style

Whoa whoa whoa mama
Here I go whoa again
Too fast on the downhill
Faster than I can run
If miles turned to inches
You know that man would roll
All the way around the world tonight
Look at him go
No jumping off the ride
At 30 miles per hour
Iron brains and ball bearings
Give him the power
Whoa whoa take a look
Whoa whoa look at that man
Whoa whoa you can see it
That man is free
Whoa whoa whoa mama
Here I go whoa again
Too fast on the downhill
Faster than I can roll
You got to see him to beleive him
Cant you hear em callin
You got to hear him, theres no fear
In that man
Cant you hear em callin
Hes like a mean molten gold
Cant you hear em callin
Lord, hes got to have his story told
Cant you fear youre fallin
Tounge tip slipn inand out like a lizard
Cant you fear youre fallin
Ah, good god, that mana a damn wizard
Cant you hear em callin
Black hair snapn like a bull whip in the air
Cant you feel youre fallin
Red rolln wheels runn for the downhill
Dare me!

The Stone That You Love
you are unique
for having loved a stone
how did the stone
entice you?
are you seduced by
its silence?
are you tempted by
its solitude?
you take the pain
poking the stone to
your heart
and you bleed
you rub the stone
in the skin of your body
hoping that someday
the stone may have
feelings and
love you
but this is all useless
the stone is a stone is a stone
and there is no love
in its blank stare
there is no softness in its
belly
i ponder upon this
and come to think of it
you and the stone
are the same
on this hardheadedness
this futility
this numbness
this suffering without end
the stone can never give
a part of its cracks
it will never part with its
dust

Knowing
There is a danger of knowing too much
knowing too much danger
Crossing a road without looking
Taking a risk with your cooking
A danger in knowing
There is a danger in knowing too much
Having digitalised lives
synched to computer
GOOGLED
There is a danger
Is there a danger in knowing?
Too much danger?
Too much knowing?
Too much?
we have/are becoming
More like a shopping mall
Packed full of brands
And gadgets
our apps additives
There is a danger of losing your child
In a shopping mall
Losing your self
In the underground
A danger in knowing
A danger in looking
The sign
The times
Are a changing
A danger of unseeing
Unliving
A danger of touching the edge of extinction
Without feeling
Bottled emotions
Formaladehyde Brains
Mask for a face
Stone for a heart
There is on a lighter note
A danger in eating my cooking
Knowing too much
Too soon
Too late
or a danger of knowing nothing
Simply eating what's arrived on your plate

(Solitude poems) International women's day
I walk to their villages
And I see spread before my eyes
The terrible suffering of this women!
I walk amongst them in their rural towns
And I am confronted by the uncalled for
Total lack of services for this women!
I meet millions of them in the cities
And I'm saddened by their frightened stares
And the unjust exploitation of this women!
And you madam
You're so glib in your presentation
You make the same speech every year you
Trumpet the same lies of yesterday of...
Rural women are side lined by their leaders...
The women must be empowered...
Whatever happened to the propaganda of
Rolling back the frontiers of poverty?
Roll your sleeves or watch out you puppet
We will come down to your comfort
Zone and roll you out of your comfy position
Of privilege any time now

Suffering
I heard about your happiness
And all the plans that youre involved in
Since youre gone youd be impressed
To know i, too, have been evolving
But I dont think you comprehend
Ive been suffering
Yeah, Ive been suffering
Guess Ill be suffering up around the bend
This love is a cancer in me
I can feel it advancing in me
This fire it is my light in the world
Well, I found me a new friend
Ive been suffering
Yeah, Ive been suffering
Guess Ill be suffering up around the bend
I hung around in a leather bar
They threw me on the cement
Slept all night in my plastic car
Got in an accident
I brushed by you in the supermart
And I had me a touch of whats real
It was real when you crushed me with your steel
Black clouds roll through my mind
Who says anyway these halls are sovereign?
I am a hater of the human kind
So keep away, this hearts not softening
No, I dont think that its the end of this suffering
Yeah, Ive been suffering
Ive been suffering
Ive been suffering
And Ill be suffering up around the bend

Me
I stand here before you,
Transfixed,
Transformed.
I've lived the life of a phoenix.
I was reborn from my own ashes
Only to look back and laugh at what
burned me.
I am here
Understanding myself as never before
Knowing, fully, who I am.
Do you know yourself?
Are you living authentically?
I am more at peace with myself now
Than ever I've been before.
What people think does not bother me.
I don't bother with those types of people anymore.
It's amazing how afraid I was of the fire
Yet,
Like a moth, I was drawn to its flames.
It wasn't enough to have charred wings
I needed it to consume me.
I danced towards it,
Knowing it would be the end of the existence I believed to be reality.
How naive of me.
I stand before you,
Telling you the truth.
Your comprehension is not my problem.
I no longer care to make myself understood.
I am..
Who I am.
Because,
That is
ME.
