Landscape #2
4 o 'clock in the morning
dusk retreating and morning light advancing
a boat floating ashore
the wind is timid and the sand is still a very clean slate
you look behind you
you find your own steps
you think someone is chasing you
and you walk that fast enough
afraid to be finally caught
by your own fears
you stop to find out if the mountain moves with you
the sea taunts you
alone and weary and so poetic at this time of the day
the wind whispers to your devotion: who reads you somehow?
who cares? who loves you?
someday? sometime? the sand is still a clean slate
you are not this kind of man who gets easily intimidated by this void
you sit on the shore and then you begin to write the initials of your name
someone loves you and you know
it begins foremost with you

My Slate Is Clean of Miseries
There is a joy in me I know is seen.
'Cause I'm not uptight.
Looking for a fight,
No!
And if I do have any enemies...
May they live an afterlife,
In a realm that's more acceptible.
I've wiped my slate clean of those miseries.
None I wish to carry,
Or marry to be download.
I've sliced and diced all that away from me.
And I wont slit my wrists...
To bleed in dripping pity!
There is a happiness in me increased.
With a peace of mind I own,
Straight from sorrows I'd adopted.
I've had to learn to be away from disease.
To figure my life out.
And weed away all nonsense,
From my reach.
There is so much joy seen in me that's deep.
'Cause my jaws are not uptight,
Looking for a fight.
No!
And if I do have any enemies,
May they live an afterlife...
In a realm that's more acceptible.
And if I do have any enemies,
May they live an afterlife...
In a realm that's more acceptible.
And if I do have any enemies,

On The Shore
One child on the shore
With a stick on his hands
Writes on the sands
Some drawings
Playful
A wave comes and slides
On the shore
The drawings are gone
And a new slate is given
By the water that runs
That advances to him
And later surrenders to itself
Another young man
Draws a heart on the sand
Swearing a love eternal
All encompassing
A wave slides forth
And comes back pulling towards itself
A new slate is made again
The old man comes later
Writing his life story with a cane
The same wave comes again
Slides forth and pulls itself
An empty slate
Sand so smooth and blank and plain
Gleaming anew
To the blue skies
Everything looks playful,
Indeed. The sameness and the
Constant repetition. The cycle.
The monotony of life.

The Sea & The Anonymous Traveler
for every step
that i travel
your liquid tongue
erases it,
when i look back
all i see
is another clean
and empty
slate of sand
you cool my
weary feet
you refresh
my body with
your breeze
i am traveling again
somewhere
into another exciting
unknown
IT is you again
always a mystery

Ocean Breakers
She went to water;
she always did.
The heaving ocean
matched her heavy breathing;
it was a Ocean of Tears
like hers.
The swells crash
against the shore
relentlessly;
life was relentless too.
The foam;
Anger in the Water that day.
She went to water
she always did,
moving among the sand dunes,
face against the wind.
The sea gulls overhead;
caw! caw! caw!
She lifts her arms,
the wind blows her sleeves
making a flapping sound;
she could hear whispers
between the breakers,
she could hear weeping
among the retreating waves.
She stood there
on the Edge of Forever.
There is no end to the ocean.
Every day it calls to the Sun
and makes it rise.
.
Every night it extinguishes it.
She could walk to China;
she could
and no one would know;
no one would know.
The voice said
'I thought I would find you here'
Waves crashing
more soothing now
two tracks in the sand.
Sad swells
rise again
and retreat;
time and ocean breaks
bring them back together again.

A New Start
The water licked down my back
as it gave birth to the purity
of a new year it aided the love
and tears the pain and fears
that i over came
it 3am in the morning
and a new year dawn on me
a new day lit up under
the moon lit horizon
eyes watered up as i try
to write.
The sky gave up
the playground and
all was needed
was the players
standing tall with
my back to last year
i walked out of
the dark and into
the light of a new era
shadows cast over my world
keeps the adrenaline in me running
as my momentum begins to flow
goals to be achieved as the slate
is wiped clean as
i start over again

Waiting For A Blue Sky
He sits upon the empty sand
and gazes up to the endless grey
The weathered face
and battered hands
Protest the soul
that carried them so far this way
The beaten skin
is turning to a wrinkled smile
And his eyes light up
and give his soul away
He said, I'm waiting for a blue sky
I am waiting for a bright day
I'll be there thru the wind and rain
Don't care what anybody says
I'm waiting for a morning bright
that fills the day with all its clean bright light
I'm waiting for a blue sky
I'm waiting for a blue sky
I'm waiting for a bright day
I'll be there thru the wind and rain
Don't care what anyone else says
I'm waiting for a morning bright
that fills the day with all its clean bright light
I'm waiting for a blue sky

Infelice
Walking swiftly with a dreadful duchess,
He smiled too briefly, his face was pale as sand,
He jumped into a taxi when he saw me coming,
Leaving my alone with a private meaning,
He loves me so much, my heart is singing.
Later at the Club when I rang him in the evening
They said: Sir Rat is dining, is dining, is dining,
No madam, he left no messafe, ah how his silence speaks,
He loves me too much for words, my heart is singing.
The Pullman seats are here, the tickets for Paris, I am waiting,
Presently the telephone rings, it is his valet speaking,
Sir Rat is called away, to Scotland, his constituents,
(Ah the dreadful duchess, but he loves me best)
Best pleasure to the last, my heart is singing,
One night he came, it was four in the morning,
Walking slowly upstairs, he stands beside my bed,
Dear darling, lie beside me, it is too cold to stand speaking,
He lies down beside me, his face is like the sand,
He is in a sleep of love, my heart is singing.
Sleeping softly softly, in the morning I must wake him,
And waking he murmurs, I only came to sleep.
The words are so sweetly cruel, how deeply he loves me,
I say them to myself alone, my heart is singing.
Now the sunshine strenghtens, it is ten in the morning,
He is so timid in love, he only needs to know,
He is my little child, how can he come if I do not call him,
I will write and tell him everything, I take the pen and write:
I love you so much, my heart is singing.

Who Loves Ya Baby?
Verse 1:
Busy life, not enough time
To look in the mirror
Life in the fast lane...
Look around and take note
Who really loves you?
Dont get caught up in the clouds
Or youll go insane
When it seems everyone is needing something
Remember whos always been there for you
Chorus:
Who loves ya baby?
Who really loves ya baby?
Whos always been on your side morning and night?
Who loves ya baby?
Who really loves ya baby?
Whos gonna see to it that
Youre treated right?
Verse 2:
Just a smile is alright
Dont owe me anything
Come escape with me...[laugh]
You have got the world at your feet
Thats not always easy
All those people caring,
Yet youre still alone
I understand whats behind the feelings
I think I know you better than anyone (anyone)
Chorus
Bridge:
I believe in you...yes!
You believe in me too
Dont ever get swept away by something not real
cause the way I feel...
Oh I will always feel that way
Chorus
Who loves ya baby?
Chorus
Oh, who loves ya baby?
Who really loves you, loves you baby?
Oo yeah! (morning and night)
I say, who, who, who (who loves ya baby? )
Who loves ya baby? (who really loves you baby? )
Who, who, who (youre treated right)
Who loves ya baby? yeah! (who loves ya baby? )
Oo yeah! (who really loves you baby? )
Whos always been on your side morning and night?
Who loves ya baby?
Who really loves you baby?
Whos gonna see to it that youre treated right?
Oh, who loves ya baby?
Who has loved you baby?
Ive always been on your side (morning and night)
Say, who loves ya baby?
Who really loves you, loves you baby?
(youre treated right)
Who loves ya baby?
(who really loves you baby? ) who loves ya baby?
Who loves ya baby?
Yeah, yeah, yeah...(morning and night)

Who Loves The Sun
(reed)
Who loves the sun
Who cares that it makes plants grow
Who cares what it does
Since you broke my heart
Who loves the wind
Who cares that it makes breezes
Who cares what it does
Since you broke my heart
Pa pa pa pa
Who loves the sun
Pa pa pa pa
Who loves the sun
Pa pa pa pa
Not everyone
Pa pa pa pa
Who loves the sun
Who loves the rain
Who cares that it makes flowers
Who cares that it makes showers
Since you broke my heart
Who loves the sun
Who cares that it is shining
Who cares what it does
Since you broke my heart
Pa pa pa pa
Who loves the sun
Pa pa pa pa
Who loves the sun
Pa pa pa pa
Not everyone
Pa pa pa pa
Who loves the sun
Sun
Sun

Who loves the sun

My Lagan Love
When rainy nights are soft with tears,
And Autumn leaves are falling,
I hear his voice on tumbling waves
And no one there to hold me.
At evening's fall he watched me walk.
His heart was mine.
But my love was young, and felt
The world was not cruel, but kind.
Where Lagan's light fell on the hour,
I saw him far below me--
Just as the morning calmed the storm--
With no one there to hold him.
My loves have come, my loves have gone,
And nothing's left to warn me,
Save for a voice on the traveling wind,
And the glimpse of a face at morning.

Believe In Me
(myles goodwyn)
Published by summerlea music, ltd. - bmi
I woke this morning, from a dream I had of you
Of a sunny morning, sunshine and dew
Turn your head around, you know just what to do
Its those summer nights that I spent with you
Walk on (walk on), and believe in me
And help us find the love you know we need
Walk on, and believe in me
And help us find the love you know we need
In the evening, the wind can set you free
Theres a faith that grew, and stayed with me
Turn your head around, you know just what to do
Its those summer nights that I spent with you
Can you hear the water splashing
And grover tryin to have his own way
We stood there laughing, like a child who loves to run
And its just begun, its just begun, to set us free
Walk on (walk on), and believe in me
And help us find the love you know we need
Walk on, and believe in me
And help us find the love you know we need

Retreating To The Coolness Of Life
the sea is calm this morning
and you try a little casual walk
along the shore
you stare at the horizon
you wish a cyclone
a tsunami
a whirlwind
a whirpool
you wish the eye of the storm
you wish for the
hole of the earth to open up
and swallow you
whole
no one of this nature
does it for you, however
the sea is still calm and the sands so soft and fine
the breeze touches your face
the sun ascends and finally on this sunny day
you go back to retrace your steps
find the shade of the tree
retreating to its coolness
now you still hope to find a dream
a body
life is patient and still wanting
you

Paper Boats
Sit on a train, reading a book
Same damn planet every time I look
Try to relax and slow my heartbeat
Only works when im dead asleep
Been thinking and drinking all over the town
Must be gearing up for some kind of melt-down
All I am is
A body floating down-wind
All I am is
A body floating down-wind
Whats wrong?
Nothing
Are you sure nothings wrong?
Yeah
But youre sad about something
Yeah
So tell me what
I dont know
I cant tell you
I cant tell you
All I am is
A body floating down-wind
All I am is
A body floating down-wind
Sit on a train, reading a book
Same damn planet every time I look
Try to relax and slow my heartbeat
Only works when im dead asleep
Been thinking and drinking all over the town
Must be gearing up for some kind of melt-down
As the express train passes the local
It moves by just like a paper boat.
Although it weighs a million pounds
I swear it almost seems to float.
And as we pass by each other
Our heads all full of bother
We cant look, we cant stop
We cant think, We cant stop
Because were stuck in our own paths
And its the way it always lasts
But I need something more from you.
All I am is
A body floating down-wind
All I am is
A body floating down-wind

A Poem to the Master
I get turned
Into a clean slate
The only movement
Discernible in that clean state
Is the silent gathering
Of throatful of tears
Raving to flow
Out to bathe
Me and 'me.'
Allow this vibrant
Fleeting wink of time
Be my light
My rhythm
My melody
Tuned by you,
My Master!

Written In Sand
Your eyes are the color of the sea
You look my way and the waves
Wash over me
Your body shivers with the
Fading light
You say, baby, lets just make
It last tonight.
And when the morning comes
You take me by the hand
And say our love is written in sand
Written in sand
We hear the ocean roar
Were swept away on to some
Distant shore
You whisper secrets of the heart
They keep us close when the
World keeps us apart
Until tomorrow comes
Time is on our hands
Because this love is written in
Sand
Written in sand
Solo
Nothing lies between
A woman and a man
When their love is written in sand
When their love is written in sand
When their love is written in sand

Sands Of Time
It was a time gone by
a time with no goodbye
but I left you
in the sand and the wind
You gave me your hand
but I couldn't hold on
you was taken
by the winds of time
Sands of time
blowing in the wind
when will they come for me
when will they come for me
I see your soul
dancing in the sands of time
I hold out my hand
but I just feel the sand and the wind
god forgive me
I can't go on
living in a world I don't belong
see my soul flying in the night
I will find you
no matter how long
I will find you
Sands of time
blowing in the wind
when will they come for me
when will they come for me

That Naked Birthday Cake
the best hour to think
is this
3 o'clock
when it is still dark
when finally dusk breaks
the famed virginity of
a morning
light
it is the perfect
time when your mind
is like glass
with frost
and you write your pains in bold letters
using your index finger
no one reads it
and then the mist outside
as it is still very cold
covers all the letters again
the way you like
the icing so sweet that your dear mother
once put
on your naked birthday cake

Footprints
Footprints in the sand
As deep as they might be
Will someday be washed away
By the wind or by the sea.
The footprints have been placed
Upon the beaches sand
In memory of a creature
Proclaiming Himself as Man.
I followed this set of footprints
Placed upon the beaches Earth
To find out where Man had gone to,
And to find out His Earthly worth.
Many of the footprints were deep,
Placed upon the beaches sand,
From the troubles that Man had kept
With memories held in His hand.
And the footprints, that were placed wide
They were many upon the beach,
Were they from the trouble that Man did hide,
Or was it from happiness, that was out of reach.
And then as I noticed in front of me
The footprints were swept away,
Man again was forgotten
Until He returned another day.
Then I looked behind me,
I saw my footprints in the sand
And I know someone will follow them
While wondering, who was this Man.
Had my footprints been placed deep,
Or were they placed apart very wide,
Will they wondered if I ever laughed,
Or if I cried, from sorrows I couldn't hide.
So I closed my eyes and I wondered
About the footprints that I had placed
Someday, will Man He follow them,
While believing my life a waste.
So I continued my walk upon the beach,
I was a very joyful and happy Man,
I left my sorrow and trouble behind me,
In my footprints in the sand.

In the steps of Rumi 87: A Windy Day
Isn’t it a windy day?
The wind gets everywhere,
loves especially to have fun,
enjoys rattling loose doors as if it would come in,
to become a quiet household pet,
or just disappear up the chimney
to meet itself again…
loves corners especially,
piles its toys up in them;
loves robes, veils, laughs, exposing
forbidden body parts;
sweeps the streets clean of plastic bags
then just for fun, blows them around again;
loves especially, laundry on the line –
fills out men’s shirts into dancing fat men;
would wind like to laugh at man?
then from fun play, can get serious –
tests whether that corrugated iron roof
to your makeshift shed is really secure..
later, you may be glad it did...
then from serious to boisterous:
takes on the sea itself, which
likes a bit of fun, but then
gets angry when provoked too much…
then when it’s gone, it’s gone
back to wherever wind comes from…
before it goes, let’s wrap up, take
a laughing walk and tussle with it;
come back, cheeks glowing,
eyes sparkling, laughing,
light-hearted… what did we meet out there?
some say, that wind is really fire,
which stirs our blood like that;
that fire brings life; that life brings spirit;
that spirit is but love; and love,
the breath of gods, of God;
the wind blows where it will.

Close To The Wind
Written by gerry beckley and steve levine, 1994
Found on hourglass.
Ah
Lately, it hasnt been easy
Ive been wanderin all night
Searchin, tryin to find an answer
Why Im in this situation
Ive been sailing close to the wind
Trying to keep my head above water
Close to the wind, without you
Ive been sailing close to the wind
Everyday it just gets harder
But youre all I need to survive
For so long it felt like
I was walking on the water
I found the hard part
Is waking without you in the morning
Ive been sailing close to the wind
The weight of the worlds on my shoulders (everyday now)
Close to the wind, without you
Ive been sailing close to the wind
The loneliness its neverending (yes Im falling)
Open your heart, come aboard
And if were back together
I know our love will be everlasting
I still believe that theres a chance
For us to have a happy ending
Peace will reign on earth
Life for all its worth, oh yeah
I pray every single morning
That this time we will be much stronger
Ive been sailing close to the wind
Help me try to find a shelter (to protect you)
Close to the wind without you
Ive been sailing close to the wind
But inside its safe and warm now (were together)
Dont be afraid of the storm
Ive been sailing close, close to the wind (been sailing in)
(close to the wind) dont be afraid of the storm
Ive been sailing close, close to the wind (been sailing in)
(close to the wind) dont be afraid of the storm ...
