Just Fit In, We're Going
here comes the sun, is a cliche.
i put a spell on you, is another cliche.
i think i love you, most abused cliche.
you complete me, movie cliche,
strawberry fields,
scents of magnolia, fresh and soothing,
vanilla ice cream,
chocolate Popsicle,
mint puffs,
and cotton candy, and black forest.
coca-cola and ice cubes,
inside a glass
against the summer sun
your lips sucking the straw
your face covered with my shadow.
i am no longer conscious about their
taboos
got mine, and i like it
when i am finally free.
i store more cliches and
lick them
like Popsicle on a hot
summer day.
no hard feelings. Just fit in.
we're going.

It is a cliche that most cliches are true, but then like most cliches, that cliche is untrue.

Clichés I Have Loved
‘My life has been one long…
cliché! …’ she sobbed.
He put his sunburned
muscular forearm flecked
with golden hairs
around her shaking shoulders.
She lifted her tear-brimmed,
reddening eyes to meet
his steady gaze.
‘Oh my darling..’
she breathed.
And they fell into
a passionate
cliché..
I’ve said it before and
I’ll say it again.
One man’s cliché is
another woman’s love-byte.
John Ciardi said,
The craft of poetry
is not easy.
It is better than easy.
It is joyously difficult.

Love In War
[Hook]
Let's kiss, not fight
Try to do whats right tonight
Make love, not war
What the hell are we living for? [repeat]
[Verse]
Tonight we'll make the prettiest song that no one will ever hear
No one will ever hear
No one will ever
These ain't the times to be alone cliche the end is near
Cliche the end is near
Cliche the end is
Quickly approaching while we carry on
No one is promised another day
Why can't the story end like fairytales often do
Before I let you leave I've got to say-ay-ay-ay

Any great truth can -- and eventually will -- be expressed as a cliche -- a cliche is a sure and certain way to dilute an idea. For instance, my grandmother used to say, 'The black cat is always the last one off the fence.' I have no idea what she meant, but at one time, it was undoubtedly true.

I Know You'll Decieve
Your are far from me
out of my sight, I cannot see
Its with you I feel free
my hand in yours
a steady stream into your soul
an eternal flame or at least a hot coal
my feelings are true
how can I explain to you?
am I as cliche as I believe
because in my heart I know you'll decieve
In my head are thoughts of love
mentally I give them a shove
I try to stay distant
but feelings stay consistant
you tempt me with your looks
when you glance up from your books
What I desire- What I desire-
Your trap me behind bars
will you also give me scars?
that look in your eye
will it be followed by a silent sigh?
am I as cliche as I believe
in my heart I know you'll decieve

I Won't Say (I'm In Love)
[Soundtrack to Disney's "Hercules"]
Who'd ya think you're kiddin'
He's the Earth and heaven to you
Try to keep it hidden
Honey, we can see right through you
Girl, ya can't conceal it
We know how ya feel and
Who you're thinking of
No chance, no way
I won't say it, no, no
You swoon, you sigh
Why deny it, uh-oh
It's too cliche
I won't say I'm in love
I thought my heart had learned its lesson
It feels so good when you start out
My head is screaming "get a grip, girl"
Unless you're dying to cry your heart out
You keep on denying
Who you are and how you're feeling
Baby, we're not buying
Hon, we saw ya hit the ceiling
Face it like a grown up
When ya gonna own up
That ya got it bad
No chance, no way
I won't say it, no, no
You swoon, you sigh
Why deny it, uh-oh
It's too cliche,
I won't say I'm in love
At least out loud
I won't say I'm in, in love

The Mix
Vanilla, strawberry, chocolate hot
These flavors I crave a lot
Peaches, pecans, pralines so sweet
Cookie dough, mint I like to eat
Headed downward tastes I savor
I know not which I do favor
Pineapples, bananas with whip cream from a tap
These to be consumed from between the gap
Delicacy I like all these to put to the test
Especially when laid upon your chest
Areola covered by caramel is the trick
Gently fondled as I lick
Covered by chocolate as you know
Circles made from neck to toe
Bottoms up as candies I place
Around turned forward now I face
Macadamia nuts and vegan chocolate chips
All these gobbled from your hips
Honey used but you like it not
Did you thing that I forgot
Vanilla sky essences tasted so nice
Soybean, rice milk my Italian ice
Chickpea Saut that covers her rice
Curry, tarragon, basil and you the spice
You my queen are the Carte du jour
I will have you like chasseur
Parfait, passion fruit, and a Mango
Devoured from dusk down I go
Flowers bloom as leafs blossom
For you my dear is simply awesome
Bodacious vanilla a banquet I have dined
For sweet is the time I took you from behind
For where once parted lips were mine
A mouthful swallowed all the plum wine
Noir the knight I am and you are the lait
All was eatable and so all I ate

S7
early morning eyes
fresh from their dreams
the mind recalls
the heart confirms
all the emotions still contained
vivid images in technicolor
the hands summon the fingers
write, write, write
strike while the iron is hot
cliche, cliche
now the thoughts rush like a flood
from the forest mountains
the fingers are adept at all these
one with the mind and heart
and so here we are again
slaves of our art
redeemed risen anew
maybe still cold and perhaps even frozen
thaw
melt only to be solidified again when the sun comes
irony of the mind
paradoxes of the heart
listen
to you i am saying nothing
it is for me
in the labyrinths of my confusions i am trying to find my way out
trapped fly in a bottle
buzzing for its wish for freedom
genie
wanting someone to rub its ancient lamp
if you let me free
you may have four wishes
and that is not just a promise
it is a contract
morning thoughts
tunnels without end lights yet
there is yet no exit
and so you still find me here in my own shadow
fog and mist
trails filled with tall grasses
up there is the house of my intentions
a figure waits but i do not know yet who
surprises surprises
anticipations of life
these are all the reasons
hazy as a refraction of light bending upon a glassy vision

Cliché Empiricism
We no longer notice the forest
or the trees—
to use a cliché—
for we have now chosen
to focus in on
the twigs and branches—
supplanted, tumbled in the dirt—
that have fallen,
crosshatching the steps
ahead.

Our writers are full of cliches just as old barns are full of bats. There is obviously no rule about this, except that anything that you suspect of being a cliche undoubtedly is one and had better be removed.

A Pack Of Lies
That from hard work and endeavour up the social rank you will rise
To me anyhow does seem a pack of lies
'Tis just an old cliche that and nothing more
That some like to quote and we have heard before.
Even in so called prosperous Countries today
Some of the hardest working people work for survival pay
Many honest and willing workers living in poverty
Life for them seems unfair that's how 'twould seem to me.
Many of who on the theory of hard work believe
Say if you do not work hard from life you cannot receive
Yet many of the billionaires of mining and property development and oil
Have never experienced the hardship of toil.
Just an antiquated cliche it does seem indeed
That those who work hardest in life do succeed
The underpaid workers create many a billionaire
For millions around the World life does seem unfair.
I know of an old bloke who has worked hard in his working life
And he struggled for to pay for the funeral of his wife
Just one more poor hard worker his type are everywhere
There are millions of them in the big World out there.

Let Them All Talk
Hear what I say
See what I do
Believe me now Im all over you
All over you
I know a place
A certain very tender spot
To have and to hold
To have and have not
Listening to the sad song that the radio plays
Have we come this fa-fa-fa to find a soul cliche
Let them talk
Let them talk
Let them all talk
Oh yeah were killing time
Just to keep you clocking on
These are the best years of your life
Now theyre here and gone
Do the world a service
And you could do yourself a favour
Whose tongue now is tasting last weeks flavour
Our day will come
When you have squandered all your youth
To have and to hold
A stranger to the truth
Listening to the sad song that the radio plays
Have we come this fa-fa-fa to find a soul cliche
Let them talk

Alone.....
... is such a much abused,
molested than ever
overused, cliche
of the century, spoken
by the majority,
a cancer, a lump,
a freckle, a wound,
a scar, but no matter
how i hate this,
my God, it is still
poetic!

Marilyn Monroe's Photo In Yellow-gold
How many times I did see
how you stopped your dress
from blowing up,
for many probably a cliché
but still you stay to me
a lovely lady
where you now lie on a bed
with hair done yellow-gold,
with your right arm stretched above your head
with eyes half-open,
lips begging rose-red for a kiss
you can like a princess
do bewitching things
to any normal guy
and you look like a fairy-princess, a summer child.

Choose something you like to do. I know it's a cliche, and you've heard it over and over. But the reason is, you're going to have to work long and hard to achieve any success. You better like it or life is going to be terrible.
