Interaction A La Folie à Plusieurs
no matter how you close the doors and windows
cover the chairs and tables
put some glass walls
dust, these unwelcome, particles, always come
and with neglect
they pile upon your favorite spaces and places
you check them with your fingertips
oh, they're thick and plenty
you blow them away with your strong breath
they all come back again
like your enemies wildly laughing always reminding you
that from them, and to them, you shall return.
these are the madness of the majority.
Denial.

Happiness
The great stone Hall is silent
that is now millennia old.
Through the western windows
shines a glorious sun.
It floods the walls and floors,
the tables, chairs and doors,
panelling, pictures, artefacts
and illumines every one
until the wraiths that gather
cry out in their joy,
'Everything is gold!
Whatever is, is gold! '
A majestic cloud
emerges from the southern sea,
slides across the western sky
blotting out the sun.
Light through those western windows
pales to a thin grey day.
It dims the walls and floors,
the tables, chairs and doors,
panelling, pictures, artefacts
pales every one
until the wraiths in the shadows
cry out in dismay,
'Gone is gold, the gold is gone!
All joy has passed away! '

Inside My Study Room
five o'clock, the usual time
but i already woke up at 3: 45
too early really
but i could not go back to
sleep
the words arrive
riding on the boat
such wind
hovering
disembarking in my
brain
i am surrounded by
glass walls
and light brown
drapes
books scattering
like garbage
on the floors and
tables
i smell the odor of
dust and
water inside a vase
unchanged
the red rose
had long wilted
no one comes around
to fix things
and keep all of these
in their proper places
the windows are still
closed and it
is still dark outside
though the crows
have already
sounded their
sad calls
the cocks keep sounding
it is already morning
and the windows
must not be opened
i write some lines
as usual and then
i'll wear my socks
and put on my
rubber shoes
and then i will take
my walk to the
woods
it will be cold
and i can see my breath
like smoke from a pipe
but i need this
my body craves
my feet want to move
the walls are too much
and the curtains feel
like they have to be washed
i open the door
and then i meet a new
world again
i know at first it will
still be cold
that is usual
i know after this
the sun comes again
as usual
and things will warm themselves
again
on promises
like what hope is all about.

At Night With The Rain
i have closed the doors
and the windows
and let go the curtains
touching the floors
i close my eyes and listen
to the rain
i dream of stars
i miss the moon
the walls close on in me
beyond the glass windows
to the sea
i hear the sad calls of the
night
outside the trees are blown
the black cat stares at me
and then some tears
begin to fall

Feeling A Red Brick Wall With My Soft White Hands
red bricks
walls
thick walls
seeing these walls
of red bricks
feeling the hardness
of each
with my soft hands
close my eyes
feel that
i am inside you
a wall
no i don't scream
i moan
and then i am silent
so tired and
asleep
dreaming of windows
red doors
golden locks
platinum keys
wings on my shoulder
feathers of birds
blue skies red suns
blue moons

A Fact Of My Life
I am always rewinding things
To hear what was missed between
The spaces between the spaces...
Words that were not spoken
Wonderful things never said
But were going through my mind
Like a hard rubber ball
Bouncing between the walls
Of the spaces between the walls....
Echoes reverberate
With incessant sound
Of inarticulate voices...
Incomprehensible
Maddening hollow sounds
Crash against walls of hollow sounds...
Which drive me to madness
Trying to coexist
In a world outside me...
In which hollow sounds
Resound against crashed walls
Of rewinding empty spaces....
That is my life
What else can I say....

Of Dust!
and so, this morning,
we talk of dust...
tiny particles
that contain universes,
cosmos, and non-thought.
formed from nothing,
to nothing we return.
infinite nothing...
and love be but the light,
shimmering,
on tiny particles
of dust!

Expectedly
houses are strong
and well insulated
in your
hinterland
but mine is on top
of the hill
kissed by the sun
it is open to the
air
they come and go
and come again
this is the house without
doors and stairs
a house deprived of
windows
and peeping holes
and cracks and
slits
this is the house of the
sun
the earth loves it
its body attached
to the grass
it has no pillars
but trees
no roof but clouds
no walls but spaces

Walking Tables
How do tables walk as one?
And why do chairs seem to run?
How my rest is desired, and how
Do I kick in the air for relaxation?
My chimney is found with the soot
Of a black utterance, as seemly as light;
The light travels up and down the world,
With smoke, crime is committed, like walking
Chairs and turning tables, this world is one.
With this house may I live alone,
Where wolves like criminals detest you.
Anyone walked a long distance, anyway,
Justice must be allowed, and searched
By the home and heaven.
How do tables and chairs move?

Ghostdancing
Cities, buildings falling down
Satellites come crashing down
I see them falling out the skies like eagles
All mirrored glass and shattered egos
But in a corner of the world wed meet to laugh and drink and plan our sequels
cause in the alleyways and bars downtown
Theyre singing up from here to there can we go
This city comes alive at night, see these city walls are heaving
And if these old city walls should crash, amid the rubble youd find us breathing
Come say what you see in me
cause boy, I believe in you
Come say what youre seeing
All gone just ghost dancing, going all the way through
You talk about the lebanon
You tell me bout the dawn in eden
You talk about south africa
I tell you about the irish children
You say one more polish knight could come and blow away the doors to freedom
And if mother ethiopia could blow away the tears that we see run
O blow them away,
Blow, blow away
We will blow them away
O blow, blow away
Blow, blow away
Blow, blow away
Come say what you see in me
cause boy, I believe in you
Come say what youre seeing
Theyre all gone just ghost dancing, going all the way through
You know I believe in you
Oh yes I believe, you know I believe in you
You say you believe
I believe, I believe, going all the way through, yeah
Come take me back home, come on and take me away
Ghost dancing
The car pulled up, the girl she jumped in
The boy he wore a medal that was shining from his skin
With the windows pulled up, their radio tuned in
Shes hitting from the stars, hes hitting for the moon
She said, one last kiss while you look across the land
Move it into overdrive and take me by my hand
When the car broke, the rebels saw smoke
And they all went to heaven in a stupid fantasy, go
Take me away

Barns..
Barns the cat,
who knows where it's at.
He torments the dog,
as she sleep like a log.
Jumping at the dog through the air,
bouncing, darting across the floors,
On the tables and chairs,
clawing cupboards and doors.
He's got no cares.
Walks up the walls,
taking no notice of ‘get down' calls!
Yes Barns the cat,
who know where it's at!

I Cant Seem To Get Over You
Time is moving fast to the point of no return
Im reaching for tomorrow leaving bridges that Ive burned
Here I stand alone with my back against the wall
Tortured by your memory and the feelings I recall
I cant seem to get over you
No matter where I go
No matter what I do
The wall of denial
Has broken in two
And I cant seem to get over you
Everywhere I turn I see shadows on the wall
A silhouette of sorrow of a man who had it all
Your kiss forever haunts me like a ghost out of the past
Its peaceful for a moment but it never seems to last
I cant seem to get over you
No matter where I go
Np matter what I do
The wall of denial
Has broken in two
And I cant seem to get over you
Im getting tired of living with these questions in my mind
Is it hopeful to imagine or just a waste of time
For now I go on dreaming, thats whats keeping me alive
But dreams wont last forever, tell me how will I survive
I cant seem to get over you
No matter where I go
No matter what I do
The wall of denial
Has broken in two
And I cant seem to get over you

Don't Be Angry If I Go Away, Love
Don't be angry if I go away, love
away for a little
into the empty spaces behind my eyes.
I have gone fishing
in the dark spaces,
in the quiet places where the quick stars swim.
But I will be back, love,
I will soon be back,
with a shining salmon to light your house,
with my hands golden with comet-dust,
brimming with the bread of suns.
I will be back, love, I will soon be back.
Don't be angry, love, I will soon be back.

5. School Dinners
I remember in the fifties, I stayed for my school dinners
At six sided tables, with six chairs to match
I remember on walls, having all the art class winners
Whilst the dinner ladies served our food by batch
I remember lots of water, in a very large glass jug
With a glass for every diner in its place
I remember as I poured, it would give out a sudden glug
Causing droplets that would often hit your face
I remember smelly cabbage, with lots of lumpy mash
A tray sliced up with equal bits of pie
I remember thick brown gravy, it landed with a splash
That could blind you if it got you in the eye
I remember all the puddings, with custard steaming hot
You could only have if finishing your greens
I remember all the groaning as we finished off the lot
And the sickly taste from piles of butter beans
I remember taking turns, to have the custards skin
Had to scrape it off before the stuff would pour
I remember in the fifties, that none of us were thin
As the puddings kept us going back for more

To Let You Know
it is raining tonight
there is light inside my room
i sit and watch the darkness outside
there is no moon
there are no stars
there are shadows of trees borrowing light from street lamps
they keep on moving
there are winds coming from the sea
they are blowing a while ago
they just subsided
and then i close the glass windows
i sit and watch and listen like i still want to learn
despite my 48 years here
i still do not know what in essence
is loneliness
how to cope with its grip how to set my self free
the chairs and tables are dusty
outside there is this contrast of coldness and darkness
i read some poems and i begin to write my own
nothing new not that old either
the same feelings the same flow of thoughts like a chain of steel
a rope, a big rope, a long rope
i bind myself again and i look at my side
just near me
there is this brown dog
native and too loyal like your own dog
or any dog for that matter
it is sleeping peacefully as though the world is safe
there is this rain
it does not seem to stop
to let you know, there are also tears.

To A Dead Lover
The dark is thrown
Back from the brightness, like hair
Cast over a shoulder.
I am alone,
Four years older;
Like the chairs and the walls
Which I once watched brighten
With you beside me. I was to waken
Never like this, whatever came or was taken.
The stalk grows, the year beats on the wind.
Apples come, and the month for their fall.
The bark spreads, the roots tighten.
Though today be the last
Or tomorrow all,
You will not mind.
That I may not remember
Does not matter.
I shall not be with you again.
What we knew, even now
Must scatter
And be ruined, and blow
Like dust in the rain.
You have been dead a long season
And have less than desire
Who were lover with lover;
And I have life—that old reason
To wait for what comes,
To leave what is over.

Internally, Within The Walls
Internally,
Within the walls...
Where insecurities are kept.
There is a process of disrespect,
That expects more than it gets...
Than more than they themselves reflect.
And yet,
There are claims of neglect...
Gone without a self examination.
To see themselves.
Since this they reject.
Internally within the walls...
They treat each other,
As if appalled by their own appearances.
Judgements are passed.
Where they live they themselves trash.
And anyone wishing to assist with an upward mobility,
They sit analytically...
Demanding to be impressed,
By anyone sacrificing their best as confessed.
Internally,
Within the walls...
No one leaves to adventure outside of them.
And within they continue to complain.
About everything,
Including...
Opportunities that come,
To be dropped at their front doors.
And them they shun.
Because the packaging is not done with glitter,
To represent an imaging of instant bling.
Internally,
Within the walls...
They remain faithfully crazed.
As if the feeding on this madness is 'their' tradition.

Last Breath
Don't take it now
Your last breath
Wondering how
Your last breath
All that it means
And all that it does
Your last breath
Fitting everything in
Just before you take
Your last breath
Want to take mine
Before you've taken yours
Your last breath
Shutting your already opened doors
Your last breath
Don't do it yet
There's plenty to do
If you take yours
I'll take mine too
Your last breath
Please don't
Your not ready yet
Your very last breath

My Favorite Girl
My favorite girl, oh, shes my favorite girl, dont you know,
My favorite girl, oh, shes my favorite girl.
You walked into my life, your love was so new,
And nothing will ever change my feelings for you,
Well, you were so far away, now I am close to you, girl,
So let us run away, our heart thats waiting will stay.
My favorite...
Theres so much I like in you I cant go on,
I wanted a girl like you Ive looked so long,
Girl, nothing will make us wrong, I know our love is too strong,
Lets leave the rest behind, our dreams ask what we will find.
My favorite...
My favorite...
(rap:) shes my favorite girl, the one Im always thinking of, that one.
(rap:) my favorite girl, the one I love.
My favorite... (repeat & fade ad lib)

Outside The Rain Begins To Fall
do you remember it?
the rain, it was outside us when we parted
the boat left a furrow on the sea
and the waves ran until everything was calm
and then i went inside a room
the windows all glass
the drapes dusty
and the tables and chairs so cold
like our feelings
and then outside the rain began to fall
when you left
i just watched the dissipation
just that
things happened and we let them be
we were not the masters of our fate
the stars write their lines
and they take the course
of the journey
we followed suit without a single question
