Inside The Room

i cannot be
intolerant about you
getting inside my
room at this
unholy hour
naked in cotton
fabric against the
light of the moon
your hair
flown by the wind
from the window
opening

The Room

(chris waters/tom shapiro)
When I pull in the drive where your car used to be
It doesnt hurt me like it used to
I can walk through the door, and not wonder anymore
Where you are, like I used to
I can go down the hall, see the pictures on the wall
And not miss you
But I just cant bring myself to go into..
The room
Where I spent every night with you
And the light of the moon
Came through the window
And I held you
We were so close
And its just too soon
For me to go into the room
Id remember too much if I opened that door
And Im not sure if I could face it
The beds emptiness would remind me youre with
Someone else, and I couldnt take it
So, I sleep on the couch in our living room now
Since our love died
cause Im still not ready yet to go inside...
The room
Where I spent every night with you
And the light of the moon
Came through the window
And I held you
We were so close
And its just too soon
For me to go into the room
Where the light of the moon
Came through the window
And I held you
We were so close
And its just too soon
For me to go into the room

Opening A New Window

come to my room
let us open a new window
that opens to another window

look at my face
and hold the side of my body

i will caress your hair with my hands
hold your body softly as a wind holds a feather

my fingers shall travel from the tips of your hair
down to the last tips of the toes of your feet

let us be happy, let us try opening another window
let us see the other windows hidden from our eyes.

Concerned

i imagine you alone in bed
with a wound
blood drips but you are tactful
on this matter
you put cotton and apply
the needed pressure
to stop the bleeding
of your heart

then you stand up
head high
look over the window
take a deep breath
and smile to the passing
wind

this is life
these are the accompanying pains of birth
the obedience to the cycle

and then it rains
you close the glass window
the strong wind cannot be heard
with its murmurs

you go back to bed
and sleep
with all the peace and quiet inside
the room
of your soul

this is the acceptance
less all the denials.

Full Moon By My Window

full moon by my window

dark night as hair
light and warm her body

full moon by my window
i bathe in love

full moon by my window
i breathe happiness

full moon by my window
she is fast asleep in my arms

What A Coincidence! Love Is Calling Me Too

this will be my last poem for tonight
in here, it is 11: 32 in the evening.

someone is naked inside my room.
she is a beautiful bird making her love call.

she is a flower, and i will be her only dew.
she is the only moon, by my open window.

The Moon Sits

The moon sits lonely
in the darkness
searching moodily for
the leader path;
that shall be comfort
to our very lost souls
where the light of a tunnel will bring us to an opening
no one knows where she is going...

The sun taking a bath; sea gulls screech like
the lost soul
of a girl
loosing control fast of her surrondings
yet the guiding moonlight finds her back...

with an
opening of a window,
where the wisdom
stands when the sun calculates her Maths...

...and the moon shouts answers NOT obediently

yet a despair comes over like a mist
never be hopeless!
Oh my moon is that your wrath;
oh my moon is that your wrath.
Don't despair in silence
there is a guiding light
in the middle.
Oh my moon is that your wrath?
Hide your wrath -
show your light!

Gratis Et Amore (2)

helen cannot sleep,
and she keeps on sneering at the moon
and writing it
with poems as though the moon is a man
and as though the poems are her
letters pleading
to be loved by its glimmer
and shimmer imagining
them to be the rough hands
of a lover and
throughout many nights
she had been waiting
to be loved

there were many things that she did
all for the moon not even for the stars
until one morning she was found
dead inside her room
her face towards the moon
her eyes closed
her window open
and the people who buried her
that same day
told about the shame
that she was naked

i know how it is to be like her
and it was all done in the name of love
gratis et amore.

and they said, all of them, after all the prayers were said
Amen.

A Superstition About A Black Butterfly

if it is a brown butterfly that flutters inside
the house
we have reasons to be glad
for it means money

if it is a black butterfly we better prepare
for it means death
sorrow, lament

last night the moon was full and it was floating
on the clouds
the sky was so dark the distant star in contrast
flickers like a firefly full of life

i have seen Venus, the neighboring planet
i keep the joy of light

there came a black butterfly
inside the room passing through the window
while you were sleeping
the light of the moon was all over you

i have seen death
it is inside me this love fading like a faint light
like that most distant star
losing the essence of its light

And Then You Wanted To Go And Leave Me Here

you come like a shadow creeping beside the twilight of my life
i wake up at dusk and hear the faint sound of hope and there

you are dressed in morning light shining upon the drapes of
my room where the windows are tightly lipped in silence

we talk like the wind getting inside a leak of my wall and we
whisper what we know from the beginning, about love and how

some of it lay broken on the road of mishaps and how some
wounds begin to know how to heal themselves and pretend that

a scar is beautiful and shiny upon a skin that knows how to forget.
i smell the skin of freedom spreading on your bosom and i touch

the scent of your hair and i begin to know what life is all about until
you know the real hour for leaving, the sunset calls you and then you

hear the song of the sea, and then you wear upon your shoulder the
wings of the seagull. You leave me and i am like a window waiting

for the white sail from the ocean its shadow getting smaller from the
horizon. And then the moon rises up with the stars lighting the darkness.

Morning (Poem From The Movie Il Postino)

Naked, you are simple as one of your hands,
smooth, earthy, small, transparent, round:
you have moon-lines, apple-pathways:
naked, you are slender as a naked grain of wheat.
Naked, you are blue as a night in Cuba;
you have vines and stars in your hair;
naked, you are spacious and yellow
as summer in a golden church.
Naked, you are tiny as one of your nails-
curved, subtle, rosy, till the day is born
and you withdraw to the underground world,
as if down a long tunnel of clothing and of chores:
your clear light dims, gets dressed - drops its leaves-
and becomes a naked hand again

Parisian girl

Rattle shake, in her feet crawling like a tail.
O f a princess squalor, that fire made to burn.
Tell me the story o mon amour,
Of this Parisian girl.
She was sit outside the cafe, with her naked crossed legs.
Her hair, black gold veils, obscure of mysterious where.
The lips like a fortune teller sphere.
Confine her voice, capturing the souls
Like mermaid enchanting sailors' pants.
Her dock breasts I adore.
I watch her, like the stars, million times, like the moon far light.
Where from her eyes, I hide, shy,
Seek my heart, dream my eyes, to make her love me, day and night.
Bonsoir, the cat, on the roofs stretch his fur,
Walking on the thin wall, praising her with cuddling words.
Linen wraps the morning, undone by the passion.
Consume by her caress until the moon shine.
Where the mill is blown by the wind.
The light through the window at midnight consumes.
Passion of a candle, the flame defuses the room.
Of a Parisian night bloom.

Couple

he wakes up on
a vivid nightmare

the way he crosses
the river against the

rage of the tide and
he sees her sleeping

and he wakes her up
and she listens about

the sound of the river
and the thunder and

the wind and the
flashes of lightning

inside his frightened
mind and she holds his

hands and raises them
for her to kiss and then

they talk like lovers again
and then they make love

sleep is as gentle as
the silky bedsheets and

the soft cotton pillows
on the monotony of the

sound of the air conditioned
room. And then it is morning

she opens the window
where a pale red curtain

filters the light that lands
on his eyes still soundly asleep.

Moon In The Mirror

Moon in the mirror,
Wont you stay a while tonight?
All things of beauty
Are too soon out of sight.
I know its a selfish plea;
You must light the hearts of more than me.
Theres a girl at her window;
Now shes trying to catch your eye.
But oh, pretty stranger,
You must keep on passing by.
Moon in the mirror, I dont know you;
Just a reflection of kisses
And whispers and indigo skies.
Moon in the mirror, look below you.
Moons looking back and theyre loving
And longing and telling no lies.
Moon in the mirror,
I will ask you one more time,
Not for a reason and not for a rhyme,
But please tell me if you can,
Have you seen a moonlit man?
Hes so very like you,
You could see him from afar.
Perhaps hes a misplaced moonbeam
Or a banished star.
Moon in the mirror, hes so like you.
Light up the room for an hour;
A smile or the beat of my heart.
Oh, how my heart tried to fight him,
Fight against mirrors of moonlight
Or lovelight. you lost from the start,
From the start

Floridian

The cactus and the aloe bloom
Beneath the window of your room;
Your window where, at evenfall,
Beneath the twilight's first pale star,
You linger, tall and spiritual,
And hearken my guitar.

It is the hour
When every flower
Is wooed by moth or bee
Would, would you were the flower, dear,
And I the moth to draw you near,
To draw you near to me,
My dear,
To draw you near to me.

II.

The jasmine and bignonia spill
Their balm around your windowsill;
The sill where, when magnolia-white,
In foliage mists, the moon hangs far,
You lean with bright deep eyes of night
And hearken my guitar.

It is the hour
When from each flower
The wind woos fragrances
Would, would you were the flower, love,
And I the wind to breathe above,
To breathe above and kiss,
My love,
To breathe above and kiss.

The Attic

'There's nobody in
But the light is on
And a chair just creaked,
Did you hear it, son?
There's been no chairs
For ever so long,
So who's abroad
In the attic, son? '

'That grim old lady
Who haunts the stairs
In a faded dress
With a world of cares,
Whenever I look
She disappears,
But lives in a world
That's drowned in tears.'

'They say she mutters
Beneath the moon
From the window there
In the month of June,
The light was out
In that ancient room
When she jumped from the window,
Into the gloom.'

'Why does she haunt
The attic, son,
If her soul took flight
When the moon was gone?
What is she trying
To tell us, son? '

'There's nobody in
But the light is on! '

Evil Sound

This room has an evil sound inside
It comes from the most smiling memories
That strangles you inside out with bloody hands
Throws your bowels in the black river
with a cursed kiss from certain lips

This room has an evil ghost inside
Dances naked to this evil sound
The wind blows through the broken windows
While the curtains dance with her
This nightmare let only pure love in

Naked Eye

You can come inside
Come into the naked eye
My only world falls in again
I see your face fall in again
Its so dark
I dont know your name
Its so dark
And I dont know your name
Only mirrors lie only mirrors lie now
Only mirrors lie only mirrors lie now
Through the needles eye
Through the needles eye now
Only mirrors lie
Lie lie
You can come inside
Come into the naked eye
Naked
Naked
I feel so high
Going up on the wall
And youre down below me
Look all around look all around now
Look all around look all around now
Only mirrors lie only mirrors lie now
Only mirrors lie only mirrors lie now
Through the needles eye
Through the needles eye now
Only mirrors lie
Lie lie
You can come inside
Come into the naked eye
Naked
Naked
Just wanted a special view
Just me and you
Just just just the two of us
Just two of us
Going up on the wall
Up on the wall
Going up on the wall
Up on the wall
Naked eye naked eye
What do you see
And whats there to learn
Reading your books
Third diagram
Someones in the room down below
Someone someone
Someone below
Insects
Cherries
To the cherries
On the wall

Fractured Moon

Fractured moon
In a silver spoon
Dissolved into the eyes
Of awakening tiger
Then moved away
In a vanishing light
With a lunar tone

Fractured moon
Swallowed
By a flying dragon
With all fire and no fire
The fractured moon
Collapsed in doom

While the souls
Of the dead
Still roam
Closer and closer
Near the moon
Around the moon
Within the moon
Or what have left
From a
Fractured moon

Or maybe
Another Moon

Like a photo of
A bright image
Held by aging fingers
Of a woman
Praying in her
Upstairs Room
For “long” dead
Human loved form

Near the bolted
Green back door
Stood a ghostly figure
Of an old man
Weeping
In the silence of
An astral night
Trying for an opening
To reach her
Over and over
But in vain
For the woman
in the
Upstairs room

Darkness born
In the second shadow
Of a fractured moon
And light moulded
In the old house
In a special corner
of
A very special room

Fractured moon
In a silver spoon
Dissolved into the eyes
Of awakening tiger
Then moved away
In a vanishing light
With a lunar tone
