Indifference Of The Other

the I
in me shuts down the switches
there is no wave
nothing sort of a line runs
it becomes a straight line
there is no curve in between

when I face you again
i turn on the switches again
like an offering for a nice conversation
about anything else: a son
a sun, a sound of life, a cry, a thud,
a soft touch like a gushing water on the rock
like a ticking clock

i am in the middle of a nice story
you were listening at first as you sip your black coffee
there is this character, a man looking for an opening
a woman about to find an exit
then you look around

this happens at the 39th floor
one sees a world view of the city
tiny lights, moving worm like neon along the streets
of pain

i begin to stare
i turn off the switches inside my guts my armpits
inside my chest there is a drum that stops calling the spirits
of the wind

i look at the live band singing a Latin song
i like the beat now and then i pretend that you are gone

someone down there at the ground floor
where you are crushed like a pumpkin
shall pick you up

they will not just be surprised
they will know what existence means
how precious life is really

i switch off this weird imagination about you
but we will still be leaving together
no one notices the glitch

There Is A Need To Repair The Hands Of The Clock

my days are turning into nights
and nights transformed into days

when you switch on
something switches out and you
seem not to understand
how the hands of the clock
are running

counterclockwise
not the usual clockwise clockwork
of the tic tac toe, this ticking of the stick
like a beating on your feet

it pains
to know that you are not asleep and then
all of them are soundly sleeping
and snoring
on the other side of your room

you take something to drink
and then you dream that your are dead

you run away from life
no one stops you no one tells you
stop, stop, stop this untimely demise
because we love you from the bottom of our needs

not funny anymore
you wish you do not wake up anymore
you wish you are transported in the world
where no one dies where no one lives

something constant like a straight line
and some blinking sounds

you swear you love the silence
you swear everything needs to be quiet

and so you will take it now.

Two Of Us Inside A Room Of Fear ....

since i am
grappling in
the dark
and you too
lost inside
this room of
less air
and we are
all alone
trying to figure
out where to
take the
exit
the possibility
is
you may soon
touch me
and i may soon
find you
we are anxious
our fears are like
worms inside
our guts
but if i may soon
hold your hand
and touch your
face and your
body
who knows
if there is a switch
there
where i can
turn on
light
so much light
that will guide us
both
to another
world

find me
who knows i
am a switch myself
who knows
if i also own
light
so much light
untapped
undiscovered

discover me
i am waiting
in fear.

At The Club Ultima,39th Floor

we somehow feel the bond
of unity
we feel the abundance of food
and emotions
no one is telling somehow
what is it
that makes us still torn apart
from the link

she is seated beside me
i look at the veins blue on her wrist
she is not eating much
fear of fats
and betrayal
fear of too much acidity
in her guts

when she looks at me she smiles
though i find something mysterious
concealed and yet too obvious
to be mentioned
i keep my dumb silence taking
seasoned beef inside my mouth
to keep me from
using words of which i am
getting skilled at
covers

the rest are noisy
as the live band plays
Latin beat songs

the mother feeds the child
two mothers
who want the best for their kids
clean fun

the man over the edge trusts me
sad, there is no way that he sees what is inside
my heart

there is something sinister there
like a masked ninja scheming to seize
what he treasures

and then i look at her again
this time she knows what i want
she says she likes it here
on the 39th floor
though there is more fun
at the 20th
where their is a sort of
happy quiet
and pallid privacy
with the hint that she will be alone
as she owns that room

Lubie (Come Back Home)

Down at the Astoria the scene was changing,
Bingo and rock were pushing out X-rating,
We were the first band to vomit in the bar,
And find the distance to the stage too far,
Meanwhile it's getting late at ten o'clock,
Rock is dead they say,
Long live rock.
Long live rock, I need it every night,
Long live rock, come on and join the line,
Long live rock, be it dead or alive.
People walk in sideways pretending that they're leaving,
We put on our makeup and work out all the lead-ins,
Jack is in the alley selling tickets made in Hong Kong,
Promoter's in the pay box wondering where the band's gone,
Back in the pub the governor stops the clock,
Rock is dead, they say,
Long live rock.
Long live rock, I need it every night,
Long live rock, come on and join the line,
Long live rock, be it dead or alive.
Landslide, rocks are falling,
Falling down 'round our very heads,
We tried but you were yawning,
Look again, rock is dead, rock is dead, rock is dead.
The place is really jumping to the high-watt amps,
'Til a 20-inch cymbal fell and cut the lamps,
In the blackout they dance right into the aisle,
And as the doors fly open even the promoter smiles,
Someone takes his pants off and the rafters knock,
Rock is dead, they say,
Long live rock, long live rock, long live rock.
Long live rock, long live rock, long live rock,
Long live rock, long live rock, long live rock.
Long live rock, I need it every night,
Long live rock, come on and join the line,
Long live rock, be it dead or alive.

The Seventh Floor - Do Yourself A Favour B-side

Its so nice on the seventh floor
Im taking you there ? ? ? ?
I get scared I cant touch the ground
But I feel safe when my friends come round
Ever so nice - live on the seventh floor
Ever so nice - Im safe ? ? ?
So much fun on the seventh floor
Everyone laugh when you walk through the door
I get scared when my friends come around
I look at the walls and swallow most down
Ever so nice - live on the seventh floor

And just/still dont feel any better

Walking On A Thin Line

Sometimes in my bed at night
I curse the dark and a pray for light
And sometimes, the lights no consolation
Blinded by a memory
Afraid of what it might do to me
And the tears and the sweat only mock my desperation
Dont you know me Im the boy next door
The one you find so easy to ignore
Is that what I was fighting for?
Walking on a thin line
Straight off the front line
Labeled as freaks loose on the streets of the city
Walking on a thin line
Straight off the front line
Take a look at my face, see what its doing to me
Taught me how to shoot to kill
A specialist with a deadly skill
A skill I needed to have to be a survivor
Its over now or so they say
Well, sometimes, it dont turn out that way
Cause your never the same when youve been under fire
Dont you know me Im the boy next door
The one you find so easy to ignore
Is that what I was fighting for?
Walking on a thin line
Straight off the front line
Labeled as freaks loose on the streets of the city
Walking on a thin line
Straight off the front line
Take a look at my face, see what its doing to me

Little Thing

So, um, so weve been doing this, uh, this tour, what I guess this is our
Fifth show weve done, tim and i, and, uh... (applause) and, uh, so this little
Song has been growing out, uh, while weve been playing, sort of a little
Story. and the little story I was in new york city and, uh, I was walking down
The street. trying to find the place I was going (I cant remember where I was
Going now). cause I met this girl and I asked her directions, you know. and
She was, she was tiny, you know. she, she wasnt young, she was just tiny. and,
Uh, so I asked her directions and she said, oh thats the way down there, walk
Over there, go down there, you walk over there, and you go down there and then
Youre there. something like that, anyway. so, uh, but I walked about ten
Paces away and I was thinking... daaamn, that girl was fine. and, oh, I turned
Around to tell her so, and ask her maybe her name, or maybe if we should go and
Get a cup of, who knows, coffee or something. and Im sure if I turned around
And find
Her there I would have found out something...
But she talked so good
But when I turned around, she was gone
Oh, she was gone
I didnt even get her name, oh
I thought, goddamn
With your face in my mind
And your voice in my ears
To echoes
Oh, I bought a lovely flower
Standing there, we met that day
And hope that you would return
But, no, no, no
I cant remember where I was going
But I cant remember where I was leading to
Or what led me to you, but
Oh, and the weight is all through my head
The look of you, the sound
The way you cackled at me
From then and then, I didnt know where I was going
But always I cry
And so, hey, oh
The hands that pour my hands on you again
Hey, I will beg you, Ill beg, oh
See me, please find me again
Oh, Im lost again
I sit here drinking coffee
Or water depending the time of day
But, oh, youre with me like a ghost of a mother
Oh, youre with me like the pain of a father
Oh, I wish i, I wish I could call you something
Other than the girl that I saw then
But, hey, I think that I would recognize you in a second
But, hey, I only saw you for a minute, maybe less
I dont hold my hand where
But I waited, honest
Im lost now, Im lost now
I cant remember what I used to be
But, oh, hey, yeah, weighted by the memory of
The memory of a love that never got born, but hey
Oh, hey
Do I even cross your mind lately
With more than just a laughing
Did you think as you walked away, maybe
You were, hey
Oh, I hope you did
So, hey, yeah
You would, you would have been feeling
The same thing as I am know
Thank you very much.
Speaking to tim: lets try to think of some other song... interrupted by fans
Requesting songs.
(southern accent)but we, but we done already done it, done it then! (switches
To pseudo-homosexual voice) thatd be like, you know, like, um, sing and sing,
And then not sing it for a little while, and then sing it again. and people
Would be like, whyd he sing that again?

I And Thou

FROM my simple understanding
you only exist because you are nice to me
as i am also nice to you
as the world is nice to all of us

nice in its usual connotation
smooth smile simpler synthesis
like you offer me an orange
that i squeeze and suck every pulp every drop

when things turn sour when fungus strikes
when everything is rotten
there is nothing more to desire

i need a brick wall to bump my head
there will be cracks and then it is my turn to be gone

that is the exit that i am speaking about myself
there is only I, BECAUSE

THOU is simply a delusion
there is no such under the state of affairs
i cannot even touch it
even in my little imagination

One Two, One Two

[kool keith]
One two one two, one two one two
One two one two, one two one two!
One two one two, one two one two!
I just step and i rap rap
Move and you clap clap
Dance and wiggle, and little feets go tap tap
Over and switch switch, change my pitch pitch
You can get down down, rock with my sound sound
As i rock freak a rhyme, blow up the town town
Mc's in the back, double trouble can learn learn
As i start to burn burn, mc's wait your turn turn
Look at me black black, don't come to me wack wack
I chew em like gum, eat your crew like a snack pack
Walk and i flex flex, check and i stop stop
Beat em on down down, suckers i rock rock
Cling on, swing on, walk and you step step
Pick up your pep pep, build up my rep rep
Move and get smacked smacked, i'm tellin you black black
I told you again, i'm clockin fat knots
("i'm the freaker, the one who freaks the funk" -- cypress hill)
One two one two, one two one two
One two one two, one two one two
("i'm the freaker, the one who freaks the funk")
One two one two, one two one two
Continue i flow flow, not stiff and i blow blow
X'll get raw raw, and travel on tour tour
Mc's they get crushed crushed, stomped in the dust dust
Mack-10 tec, every rhyme goes bust bust
Out on the west west, facing your chest chest
Let me go rock rock, people just clock clock
Girls they wet, damp panties and jock jock
Move and i swing swing, to riker's and sing-sing
Knock on your brain, picture bell go ding ding
Mc's that flow flow, i think they all so-so
Like g.i., g.i., kiddie toy named joe joe
Rappers are doodoo doodoo, deep as a voodoo voodoo
Come and don't play play, watch what i say say
Pick up your mic, i'm clockin fat knots
("i'm the freaker, the one who freaks the funk")
One two one two, one two one two
One two one two, one two one two
X'll get wreck wreck, breakin your neck neck
Your brain is the seed, like a bird i go peck peck
Don't call me no jeff-jeff, keith no sweat sweat
You can be dog dog, cat and my pet pet
As i go woo woo, yo b i'm so smooth smooth
Rhymin like wild bill, strong and i feel feel
Suckers ain't jack jack, jumpin on zapp zapp
Thinkin they funk funk, soft and they punk punk
Like they in jail jail, soft and they swing soft
But i gotta dip dip, you stay off my tip tip
(why?) inside hermin's head, i'm clockin fat knots
("i'm the freaker, the one who freaks the funk")
One two one two
One two one two, one two one two
("i'm the freaker, the one who freaks the funk")
One two one two, one two one two
One two one two, one two one two
("i'm the freaker, the one who freaks the funk")

What Papa Do Not Like To See...

a jar on an edge that with a slight push
falls and breaks into pieces,

a sparrow's egg on its nest between the twigs
of the guava tree

a coke bottle put inside the freezer (for he
knows that it will crack, and he does not like to
see broken glass and spilled colored water
inside the frozen floor)

a watermelon on the table with all the possibilities
that it will roll and crush itself on the kitchen floor

a little boy in the middle of the road's curve and there
is a high speeding bus coming...

my papa is not weird after all.

In Times Of Depression

failure. defeat. setting sun.
dark nights. Bar escapades.

lost hopes. Excitements gone.
feeling like a dead log floating on the river.

silence. Conversations that do not mean anything at all.
dogs howling. Cat naps.

furs left on the sofa. Carpets and dusts
and some bites from mosquitoes
that find themselves
whisking inside this room.

ticks and tic tac toes of boredom.
book waiting to be read. Bookmarks and ears.

sitting on a bench. Sunshine falling on your hair.
warmth spreading inside your armpits.

lips wetting. Saliva on the tongue.
Air getting inside your nostrils.

a bubble of air inside your lungs.
a word shaping inside your mouth. You want to speak.

you choose the mute mode of your life.
You switch on to hibernation.

some leaves fall. The wind arrives. Some flowers
bloom. The bees beginning busy.

Some butterflies. Blue and Yellow lights.
Grass as green as ever with dew on their tips.

There is no depression. There may be denial.
When pain is so much. Try these little things.

inside your mind, there is fullness of thoughts.
Tiny butterfly wings. Shiny wings of beetles.

Aroma of coffee. Scents of roses. Red roses.
Beach bench. Under a tree. Time stops to run here.

You are here. You are not waiting for anybody.
Time runs. But there is no watch to tell you about anything.

Then you think you have something to write about.
It is about this. Welcome.

Voices Of Freedom

The currents rage deep inside us

The currents rage so deep inside us
this is the age of Video Violence
Up in the morning drinking his coffee
turns on the TV to some slasher movie
Cartoon-like women, tied up and sweaty
painting and screaming, thank you, have a nice day
the currents rage, the dawn's upon us
this is the age of Video Violence
The currents rage so deep inside us
this is the age of Video Violence
Na Na Na Na Na Na

looking for something, other than rape or murder
Or beatings or torture, but except for Walt Disney
it's a twisted alliance, this age of Video Violence
The currents rage, the dawn's upon us
this is the age of Video Violence
The current rage so deep inside us
this is the age of Video Violence
Down at his job his boss sits there screaming
if he loses his job, life looses its meaning
His son is in high school, there's nothing he's learning
he sits by the TV, watching Corvettes exploding, 'cause
The currents rage, the dawn's upon us
this is the age of Video Violence
No age of reason landing upon us
this is the age of Video Violence
Na Na Na Na Na Na
Na Na Na Na Na Na
Down at a bar some woman is topless
she's acned and scarred, her hair is a mess
While he shoves $5 down her exotic panties
the video jukebox is playing Madonna
While just down the block at some local theater
they're grabbing their crotches at the 13th beheading
As the dead rise to live, the live sink to die

Radio Heart

I lose myself in the night
Walking the streets in the rain.
I turn away from the light
To find the shadows again.
I see her face in the window
I feel the touch of her hand
I hear her voice say I need you
I guess I cant understand
Radio heart
Play a sad song for me
One fom the heart
So shell come back for me
Radio heart
Send her my love for me
I hear a sound in the night
Could be the turn of a key
And when I switch on the light
Its you Im hoping to see
Imagination
You play a cruel cool game
Imagination
You leave me calling her name
Radio heart
Play a sad song for me
One from the heart
So shell come back for me
The morning after
I find no inspiration
No love no laughter
Just my imagination

The Pain Is Just To Real

The pain is just to real.
There’s a tear somewhere deep within me.
Pulling at me, reaching up, seizing me.
The pain is just to real.
It bursts white hot scorching my insides.
Prying me open, ripping inside me.
The pain is just to real.
Needles hitting over and over again.
A cry of fear burst through my mouth.
The pain is just to real.
I hear the thud each time the pain comes.
It’s excruciating, I can’t take this much longer.
The pain is just to real.
I clutch my chest I can’t seem to breathe.
It’s killing me.
The pain is just to real.
Something’s shattering inside me.
It’s hitting every piece of flesh within me.
The pain is just to real.
White hot pain explodes in my chest.
Thud, Thud, pain pulses through my veins.
The pain is just to real.
My muscles begin to twitch.
Clutching my chest I think I see lights.
The pain is just to real.
My vision goes blurry.
I’m coming short of breath.
The pain is just to real.
With one gasping breathe I realize what’s happening.
My heart is shattering..

Can You Hear It

Drum, drum, tipi tap, tong,
I like that beat as it comes along.
It’s the same beat and the same tune,
we all know it’ll be here soon.

Drum, drum, tipi tap, tong,
fast or slow it’s a catchy song.
I kind of look forward to its day
and it's a shame when it goes away.

Drum, drum, tipi tap, tong,
It's getting closer and it won’t be long.
At last it's coming down our street
with its catchy drumming beat.

Drum, drum, tipi tap, tong,
it's so simple I can’t go wrong.
It's getting louder as it comes near,
the people watching give it a cheer.

Drum, drum, tipi tap, tong,
the beat’s blasting out loud and strong.
The man inside this sweeping machine
sings as he works to keep the streets clean.

Drum, drum, tipi tap, tong,
the sounds are fading as it goes along.
But it's nice to know as he sweeps the curb,
his drum, drum, tipi tap, tong, has the final word.

Looking and going back...

there were layers of years.
you were on one of those layers. You are blue,
a line of blueness, in between those other colors,
You are always the silent kind of blue.
They skip you and find you one of those insignificant lines.

The years pad each other like the barks of a tree.
You are one of the bold strokes now. Time does it.

They you go back to that old layer. You were blue.
You make some squeezes, and etchings on those other lines.
They squeak like rats.

You tell them that once you were there and you were the blue line.
They fully remember. But there is no difference really.
Your thinking is misplaced. You think you are different now.

No, they didn't. You finally regret going back.
You retreat once again inside the room sit on the chair.

You are a blue line. You corrugate a little bit like a magnetic ecg line.
But it will not last. You are a straight line now.

You watch TV till midnight. There is nothing significant.
You are still a blue and straight line. That you have to accept as a fact.

You turn off the TV. A nice sleep is always a better alternative.

Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
His heart is pounding he switches the channel
Looking for something other than rape or murder
Or beatings or torture but except for walt disney
Its a twisted alliance, this age of video violence
The currents rage, the dawns upon us
This is the age of video violence
The current rage so deep inside us
This is the age of video violence
Down at his job, his boss sits there screaming
If he loses his job, then life loses its meaning
His son is in high school, theres nothing hes learning
He sits by the tv, watching corvettes exploding, cause
The currents rage, the dawns upon us
This is the age of video violence
No age of reason landing upon us
This is the age of video violence
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Down at a bar some woman is topless
Shes acned and scarred, her hair is a mess
While he shoves 5 dollars down her exotic panties
The video jukebox is, ah, playing madonna
While just down the block at some local theater
Theyre grabbing their crotches at the 13th beheading
As the dead rise to live, the live sink to die
The currents are deep and raging inside
The currents rage so deep inside us
This is the age of video violence
No age of reason is landing upon us
This is the age of video violence
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Our good working stiff looks a whore in the eye
Ties her to a bed
While he beats her back bloody and then back -
- at home, drinking more instant coffee
Calls some red-neck evangelist that hes seen on tv and says
The currents rage, the dawns upon us
This is the age of video violence
No age of reason is landing upon us
This is the age of video violence
The currents rage so deep upon us
This is the age of video violence
The currents rage so deep down inside us
This is the age of video violence
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
Na-na-na, na-na-na
...
