Hello Lady Grace

i have checked the sun
it is hiding behind the clouds
and the clouds say
it will rain today

i have checked the wind
the leaves have the prediction
it's gonna have
another typhoon

and so here i am,
signing in too... for this morning
poetry with you!

Feels Like Rains

Here I go again
Hanging on to the bitter end
All alone
Nothing left to lose
Don't want to face tomorrow
I can't sleep tonight
Blame it on the weather
Till I get over you.
Chorus:
Feels like rain
Feels like I'll never fall in love again
There's a cold wind blowing every cloud my way
And it feels like rain today
Taking down every picture
Hanging on every wall
Broken dreams, painfull memories
Like the times I never listened
And the times I didn't try
It's gotta be the weather
'Cause you're not here with me
Chorus:
Feels like rain
Feels like I'll never fall in love again
There's a cold wind blowing every cloud my way
And it feels like rain today
Regretting every minute
Since I watched you walk away
Cause it's not the same without you
And now the clouds are hiding
Every sunny day
I guess I'll stay inside again
Cause it feels like rain today
Feels like rain
Feels like we'll never fall in love again
There's a cold wind blowing every cloud my way
And the clouds are hiding every sunny day
and the storm is coming so I'm here to stay
'Cause it feels like rain today
Yes, it feels like rain today

Sonnet: The Wind

What shakes the trees so violently? ’Tis Wind;
What moves the clouds hither/ thither? ’Tis Wind;
What takes the tornado around? ’Tis Wind;
What brings the sandstorm on the earth? ’Tis Wind.

What makes the cool and gentle breeze? ’Tis Wind
What makes the boughs and leaves to dance? ’Tis Wind;
What makes the autumn leaves to fall? ’Tis Wind;
What makes the honey-bees to fly? ’Tis Wind.

What makes pollen reach in showers? ’Tis Wind;
What makes the dust to climb towers? ’Tis Wind;
What spreads the perfume of flowers? ’Tis Wind;
What makes the rain-clouds advance far? ’Tis Wind.

What makes the Wind to blow? ’Tis God;
What makes a Tempest stop? ’ Tis our Lord.

Alligator

Sleepy alligator in the noon day sun,
Lyin by the river just like he usually done.
Call for his whiskey, he can call for his tea,
Call all he want to, but he cant call for me.
Oh no! Ive been there before,
And I aint gonna come around here any more.
Creepy alligator coming all around the bend,
Shoutin about the times when we was mutual friends,
I checked my memory and I checked it quick, yes I will.
I checked it runnin some old kind of trick.
Oh no! well Ive been there before,
And I aint gonna come around here any more.
Sailin down the river in an old canoe,
A bunch of and an old tennis shoe.
Out of the river all ugly and green,
Came the biggest old alligator that Ive ever seen!
Teeth big and pointy and his eyes were buggin out,
Contracted the union, put the beggars to rout.
Screamin and yellin, he was pickin his chops,
He never runs he just stumbles and hops.
Just out of prison on ten dollars bail,
Mumblin bitches and waggin his tail.

Morning Time

Wind was blowing through the trees
I could hear the rustling of their leaves
The morning sun sneaking through the clouds
Birds singing morning sounds
For i love this time i say
Morning of a new day
I wonder what the day has in store
In the distance i hear the waves crashing the shore
For it is morning time and all is a buzz
From the depths of the oceans
To the skies above
Good morning morning i always say
My your a beautiful day
Maybe you might rain today
Your still beautiful anyway
The sombre breeze that blows around
The birds singing
As i spread my blanket on the ground
So i lay here looking into the sky
Motionless waiting and watching the world pass me by
A few drops of rain speckle my face
I would not give up being here for any place

Alison

Broken rain clouds,
pink like her lips
full wet, and
blue sky with
tunes out the back of her pickup
in the wind and the rain clouds
are moving cross reasons to leave.
Turning ‘round, lookin' back
as the wind scares the birds
through the air like shed tears,

her foot on the throttle
leaves a long muddy trail.

Its Gonna Rain

Transcribed by wes torres
Now who, who, who do you think I am?
Well, I built this ark with japheth, shem, and ham.
Now what, what, what do you think its gonna do
When I live by faith and now my work is through?
Its gonna rain (its gonna rain)
I said its gonna rain (its gonna rain)
Yes, its gonna rain (its gonna rain.)
Im so happy to say (its gonna rain)
Oh its gonna rain (its gonna rain) on the world today
Now when, when, when I am in doubt
And I think that things for me will never work out,
But where, where, where the heart is true,
Ya know lord, your god, will never forsake you.
Its gonna rain (its gonna rain)
I said its gonna rain (its gonna rain)
Yes, its gonna rain (its gonna rain.)
Im so happy to say (its gonna rain)
Oh its gonna rain (its gonna rain) on the world today
Repeat verse 1 (drums only)
Its gonna rain (its gonna rain)
I said its gonna rain (its gonna rain)
Yes, its gonna rain (its gonna rain.)
Im so happy to say (its gonna rain)
Oh its gonna rain (its gonna rain) on the world today
Forty days and forty nights (its gonna rain)
Forty days and forty nights (its gonna rain)
Hallileua, its alright (its gonna rain)
Everybodys sleepin tight (its gonna rain)
Oh, its alright, its alright, its alright, its gonna rain tonight.
Repeat chorus three times

A Sailboat's Last Thoughts.......[Human/Sailboat Nature; Drama; Weather]

The storm clouds covered the sun,
bringing to an end the day-of-fun.
I knew my owner was not too bright;
I resisted his casting off with all my might.
But though I'm bigger and stronger than him,
I was at the mercy of his every whim.

But this day my fate had a second master.
Both the human and weather brought me disaster.

First the wind picked up for an hour,
bringing with it a late afternoon shower.
He sailed me on while showing no fear
but just opened himself another beer.
I had enough anger and fear for us both;
if I could speak I'd swear an oath
that, if once more we did reach shore,
with that jerk I'd sail no more.

He'd probably not checked forecast or a chart.
What a foolish, misguided, drunken fart!

I tried to come up with a positive thought.
Try as I might I came up with naught, and
he made no effort to motor me in.
In nautical circles that is a sin.
When beer was gone he went down below.
With more rain came an increased easterly blow.
Wind that is, a fearsome blast,
which tore my sails and snapped my mast.

I've never been a boat much to pray,
but I beseeched Neptune on this, my last, day.
My only hope was to stay afloat!
If I could wield a pen I'd have written a note,
damning my owner and his beer as well,
and wishing them both bad luck in Sailors' Hell.

The wind increased even more for an hour.
Freezing rain developed from what was a shower.
The sea filled the cabin below;
what became of him I don't care and don't know.

My last thoughts were of the owner I never did thank.
He was my first owner before I was lost to the bank.
He kept my sails in order and fuel in my tank.
And HE checked weather and charts, and HE never drank.

No Clouds

Oooh
Woke up this morning
Opened up my curtains
What do I see
What a lovely day
Sunshine and crown
No sign of the clouds
Don't wanna go to work
Cos I got to play
Call all my peeps
And head for the beach
Do a whole lot of nothing all day long
I don't care about the 9-5
Right here's where I belong

And I gotta funny feeling that
Things are gonna go my way
Whoa

Ain't gonna be no clouds
Hanging over my head no more
All I can see is sunshine
There's one thing I know for sure
That
No way I'm holding onto yesterday
No more
Living for today
I don't care 'bout tomorrow

There was a time
When you always would deny
You were sly
You were hiding things from me
Leaving every lie
Never listened to my own mind
I've opened my eyes
Now I really see
Without you here
The way is clear
Live my life the way I wanna be
All that matters is right here

Monsoon Woes

Rustling leaves
Stirring leaves
Hope-filled eyes!

Bumble bees
Blanketing clouds
Goose pimples!

Nostrils alert
Rain-smell sighted
Expectant skin

Static clouds
Stilled breeze
Skin rains

Scanty, the rain
Stubborn, the grime
Ragging, the sun

Clear, the sky
Fickle, the clouds
Restive, the seed!

Nothing to set
Summer apart
Fading monsoon dreams!

Looking For Jane

(words & music: per gessle)
Published by hiphappy
Where did she go?
Where did she go from here?
The last time I saw her
She made all the clouds disappear
She said, with a smile,
Yea, the weathers alright
She left her coat at home that night
Where do I begin today?
Where do colours never fade?
In the sunshine, in the rain
Its quite the same
Its never gonna change
Ill be looking for jane
Why did she come?
Why did she come to me?
There must have been millions
In the world shed rather see
At least in my mind
As time has gone by
Its always harder to laugh then to cry
Where do I begin today? (ba-ba-ba)
Where the colours never fade (ba-ba-ba)
In the sun and in the rain
Its quite the same
Its never gonna change
Ill be looking for jane
Where do I begin today? (ba-ba-ba)
Where the sunshine never fades (ba-ba-ba)
In the sun and in the rain
Its quite the same
Its never gonna change
Ill be looking for jane
Where do I begin today?
Where the colours never fade
In the sun and in the rain
Its quite the same
Its never gonna change
Ill be looking for jane
Where do I begin today?
Where the sun will never fade
In the sun and in the rain
Its quite the same
Its never gonna change
Ill be looking for jane
In the sunshine in the rain
Its quite the same
Its never gonna change
Ill be looking for jane

Rainy Day in Chicago

Rain sprinkles the ground
damping the fallen leaves.
Grey clouds fill the sky
hiding the sun.
The wind blows off the lake
shaking the trees.
I sit inside trying to fight my boredom
so I don't fall asleep.
Wow it is just another rainy day in Chicago.

No Phone, No Computer—5 days

I going crazy, I might lose my mind.
This morning my mother says,
No phone no computer for five days,
There is a problem at the station.
I laughed until I saw she wasn’t laughing with me,
Then I wanted to cry.
No Phone No Computer for five days,
That is what they said.
I am beginning to pace and check the phone,
For a dial tone every now and again,
I have taken up writing about anything,
I am so board and the scary part is,
This is only day one.

Welcome readers to day two.
I woke up checked the phone,
Ate, took a shower, then checked it again.
Tapping my fingers and playing games on the desktop,
Looking through old photos,
Writing silly poems that I will never keep,
Is what I have come down to.
Checked it again but this time,
I heard a ringing in my ear,
That was ever so beautiful so beautiful in fact that,
It made me smile and brought tears to my eyes.
I am so glad that I don’t have to,
Tell you about my obsession driving me crazy,
For three more days,
And go day without talking to him.

September afternoon for M lady Ernestine.

September sun spasmodically
breaks through the clouds which threaten rain.
Sometimes the clouds triumphantly
block out the sunshine once again.
I watch and wait expectantly
to see the sun come smiling through
A little optimistically
I hope to see the sky turn blue.
The storm clouds try but can’t resist
a brisk wind blowing from the sea
They have no choice the wind persists
Although they move reluctantly.
The clouds are gone the sun shines on
and will do ‘til the day is done.

The White Pearls From Me

as the gray, thick clouds
of Jose Dalman bring forth
the wild, heavy rain and as
the blown mahogany leaves
look for life on the grass
and the plain

as the intensity of the storms
of the Marupay's fierce winds brings forth
the strong pleas of the
workers of the land
proud of the green orchards
asking to be spared

and when the eyes of the typhoon
meet the eyes of the
monkeys and the parakeets and
python

so in me, shall come the arc of the rainbow
the subsiding side, the stopping of the rage, and the
cool white pearls of the morning dew.

Teenage Lament '74

What a drag it is
These gold lame jeans
Is this the coolest way
To get through your teens
Well, I cut my hair
With a rib teht it was in
I looked like a rooster
Than was drowned and raised again
What are you gonna do
I tell you waht I'm gonna do
Why don't you get away
I'm gonna leave today
I ran into my room
And I fell down on my knees
Well, I thought that fifteen
Was gonna be a breeze
I picked up my guitar
To blast away the clouds
But somebody in the next room yield
"You gotta turn that damn thing down!"
What are you gonna do
I tell you waht I'm gonna do
Why don't you get away
Well, I'm gonna cry all day
And I know trouble
Is brewin' out there
But I can hardly care
They fight all night
About his private secretary
Lipstick stain, blond hair
What are you gonna do
I tell you what I'm gonna do
Why don't you run away
I'm gonna leave today
But even I
Don't know what I'm gonna do
Don't know what I'm gonna do
What are you gonna do
I tell you what I'm gonna do
Why don't you run away
Well, I'm gonna leave today
What are you gonna do
I tell you what I'm gonna do
Why don't you get away
Well, I'd rather cry all day
What are you gonna do, gonna do, gonna do...

Autunm Clouds

AUTUMN CLOUDS

That morning’s landscape is pleasant and exceptional;
A goose flies high into the heaven. The sky’s water has
Fallen, and autumn clouds are thin, the western wind has
Blown a million elements go into the firmament. Long
Rain has not harmed the land.

My Sneaking Tears

How heavy fell the rain that day
From burdened clouds of mournful grey.
The torrent forced them stay their height -
Composure swayed by onerous might.

My skin wrung wet with icy chill
As mud embraced that sodden hill;
But mind of mine had elsewhere gone -
'Twas clouds abandoned I was on.

The driving drops advanced their gears
To camouflage my sneaking tears -
Whence now did swell such floods of pain
To see me melt into this rain…

On equal bearing now were we:
This rain, myself, in harmony.

My Poetry

It began from a simple word,
Of what the moon had seemingly spoken,
Or a bird’s song I once heard,
Or whispers of the wind of same token;

Then there were colors of the rainbow,
Sketched briefly below the sky blue,
And the clouds’ reflection to the sea,
Spread all their words in my poetry;

The sound of the roaring river,
The melting snow after winter,
The wind breeze in summer,
You hear them in my poetry,

But without the presence of spring,
Flowers blooming every morning,
If no trees, no mountains seen,
In my poetry, you’ll read nothing.

NO more SUNSHINE

A new morning arrives but I can't see the sun rise.
All I see is the darken clouds in my light-less skies.
Heavy rain pours down from the clouds on my worn surface
Lighten strike thunder roars another hard hit to embrace
Wind so bitter my skins feel like it's being slice with a razor blade
Everything is being up rooted by the wind that won't fade
I am hold on for life but I seen no end to this destructive force
It's not a known storm; no weather man could've seen the source
It's more like a predator/a carnivore and I'm the main course
Eating at my heart and soul nothing left no remorse
It's the darkness of storm on my most terrifying of days
I prefer my skin get slice repeated with Chicago wind's razor blade
No more tears can fall from these dark clouds of this rain storm
I must accept this faith/find my shelter, and move on
It's easy for me to say now but without you my divine
I feel the rest of my days I will have NO more SUNSHINE

Clouds Of My Life

There moves the cloud
with the wind that blows
So bright and white
like the pages of my life…

I sit near the window
and watch those clouds
That shows me the way
my life is being shaped…

Never was I able to
see the clouds
Have the same shape
in every minute of my life…

Why does this happen
is what I think
But everyday is not the same
is what it says to me…

I see the winds
blow off the clouds
Which makes me think
when will my life be blown off? ...

It's hard to see
black clouds coming in between
Making my worst fears
strike into my mind…

It rains day and night
making me feel happy and sad
Happy to see the black clouds fading
but sad about losing the clouds…

Dreams of mine takes
shape in the clouds
Always showing me the face
of the person I like…

It always reminds me
my life is in world's hands
No matter how hard I try
can't change the fate of my life…

It's nice to see the clouds
every morning I wake up
This reminds me there is still a day
because I see the "Clouds of my Life"…
