Despair Is Heavy
DESPAIR IS HEAVY
Despair is heavy
And I am heavier than I have been in a long time-
The cold and the dark and the damp
Also weigh me down.
I still can move
But more slowly now
And with much more aching.
When will the minor pain become paralysis?
And when will the weight kill me?
Perhaps I am done forever
And will never move again
And the weight will take me all the way down
So low I will not even be aware anymore of my despair.
It is a heavy day now
And I am too heavy a person
And Heaviness is in the air
And rules the Universe
And everything is sinking down
And falling into its own meaninglessness.
Life is heavy
I am heavy
Everything is heavy now and getting heavier.

A New Haircut
all i need today is a new haircut
my thick hair is covering my head
and i do not really like it
like a carabao dung
it is giving me a certain feeling of a hat
a buri hat with lots of protruding fibers
untrimmed
what do i need a hat for?
when there is no rain
when there is no sun
when there is no
heavy debris falling on me
i just wanna be free
i want my brain open
washed by the rain
bleached by the sun
true to its nature
& form
thinking
w/o
any covering
without the bias
without the prejudice
of
scalp
of
hair
plain brain
exposed to all the elements
it will tolerate a certain form
of fungal infection
a certain
brain longing to be
brain dead.

Better a woman who is dark-skinned and gracious, than one who is light-skinned and insipid.
Blue Skinned Beast
I can fly you to your loved ones but I can promise no return
To a shell-shocked God forsaken where their craters still they burn
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
Still the worst is over that I hope you understand
The youre one more hurdle over our protector of the land
Have a drink on me
I put it down to the company
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Here you have this medal you can even melt it down
Or frame it in the living room every time you turn around
Have a drink on me
Have a drink on me
I heard you shout for yesterday, but I was sleeping on the job
And I dreamt of fighters miles away whose lives I had to rob
Have a drink on me
I put it down to the company
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Here you have this medal you can even melt it down
Or frame it in the living room every time you turn around
I can fly your loved ones to you
With guarantee of no return
And if john waynes dummys bounce off
Dont look shocked when it comes your turn
Have a drink on me
I put it down to company
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Hip hip !
Hip hip !
Hip hip hip hip !
Hip hip !
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Hip hip hip hip !
Hip hip !
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !
Three cheers to the blue skinned beast hip hip hip hip !
To the blue skinned beast hip hip !

Sleep II
She holds a soft cloth over my mouth
Whispers it will be alright-my nostrils burn
Her lips are on mine. Her embrace is so close,
Massive, dark as every dark, heavy with the weight of all things.
I am born down and down, ears,
Nostrils, throat, into each orifice she runs
Like the sea into the ruins of an antique city,
Eddies in my belly, relaxes my limbs,
Her ckeek is not rough, her hair smooth and mink-like.
I can see her heavy-lidded, half-closed eyes
My eyelids fall shut, my mouth falls open
My tongue falls to the back of my throat, everything falls,
I do not want her. I regret my huge obligation
Yet it is good to be held so, immobilized,
But strangely free to range, the night is for us.
What shall...

Me
at the moment when i put my head
on my left hand
my left cheek on my left palm
feeling the warmth
of myself to myself
i may say without shame that
here i am again
thinking of you
my mustache is untrimmed
i have not shaved for day
my hair needs a cut badly
i smell i stink like a skunk
my coat has dust and dirt
my underwear has not been
changed
my undershirt has dried sweat
i feel so low these days
i have this discomfort of my soul
this pierce of the pins of my conscience
the furies are attacking me
day and night
with the possible weight of disgrace
and ripping grips of my regrets
perhaps because to you i have always
lied.

Sugar Skin
Speak your word
Leave a sign
No more critics
Lay it down
Worst demean
I prefer you blind
To salve your remains
I adore
Your last scent
Sweet the water
Goddamned hands
Say the words
My romance before
I take your breath
Want to see you run
To
Want to see you run
For
Want to see you run
Sugar skinned my candy crim
Search
Did it hurt
Naked body there you lie
Dont be scared
Feel the mood of your bones
They get prisoners within
Theres your world
Spit it out
Goddamned curse so now
You are drowned
In the light you look like a
Silent lean device
Want to see you run
To god
Want to see you run
To god
Want to see you run
Sugar skinned my candy crime
Theres your shirt on the ground
Runaway
Theres a sound
For a minute
We kept out the cold
Want to see you run
To god
Want to see you run
To god
Want to see you run
Sugar skinned my candy crime
Squirm to f... him
Love in the dark
Wouldnt you lead me
Inside
Your dream of sanctuary
Sugar skinned my candy crime
I lay you down
I lay you down

The Sonnets To Orpheus: IV
O you tender ones, walk now and then
into the breath that blows coldly past,
Upon your cheeks let it tremble and part;
behind you it will tremble together again.
O you blessed ones, you who are whole,
you who seem the beginning of hearts,
bows for the arrows and arrows' targets--
tear-bright, your lips more eternally smile.
Don't be afraid to suffer; return
that heaviness to the earth's own weight;
heavy are the mountains, heavy the seas.
Even the small trees you planted as children
have long since become too heavy; you could not
carry them now. But the winds...But the spaces....

To Much Hair
There is thin hair,
heavy hair,
There is gray hair,
and red hair,
then there is no hair,
I will be hair
for you forever,
every hair you go,
I will go hair to.

Life Was Easier
Daring myself I think back to when I was young.
When every hurt could be healed with hugs and ice cream.
When problems were hardly dilemmas.
When a broken heart was a skinned knee
And daddy would kiss it and make it better.
When depression was missing a stuffed animal
And mommy would cuddle me and make it better.
When sexual harassment was a boy pulling your hair
And brother would beat him up and make it better.
Skinned knees are easier to fix than broken hearts.
Losing a stuffed animal is better than losing a love.
A boy pulling your hair is easier to solve than rape.
Why can’t we go back to the time when life was better,
When I didn’t know how hard it was.

Take The Measurement Of Me, God
And not be too far off
In my weight for wings...
Or hooves.
Be not too far off in my
Laughter...for laughter is
Heavy.
Take my weight in things
I did...not things I had
No right in doing...
And I will take your weight
In not taking
Mine....

All for Myself
Today I am doing everything for myself.
I am feeding the stray birds and animals
Giving alms to the stretched hands on my door
Watering the sun-perched plants and saplings
Helping the blind man to cross to the other side
Picking up things from ground for her
Plucking flowers for her dark scented hair
Offering the seat in the bus to the old man
Acting friendly with all at office and home
Teaching a child to learn alphabets
Pointing at the constellations in the night sky
Telling her stories at dinner and wishing sweet dreams…
So much I have done for others,
And so much more for myself!

Stateless
Ive got no home in this world
Just gravity
Luck and time
Ive got no hope in this world
Just you
And you are not mine
Stateless
Faithless
Stateless
There are no colors in your eyes
Theres no sunshine in your skies
Theres no race, only the prize
There is no tomorrow, only tonight
Stateless
Its the difference
You can cover the world with your thumb
Still so big, so bright, so beautiful
Faithless
Stateless
Push...down on me
Push...down on me
Push...your weight down
Your weight...down on me
Your weight (down on me)
When your weight falls...down on me
Be the heavy hand
The mortal sand
Be the weight, heart, down on me
Stateless
Faithless
Hey bliss

Chains
I dont want any trouble. I dont want to make any waves.
I dont want any conscience. and I dont wanna be brave.
Ive kept my distance. my feelings have never been shown.
I know that Ive been walking fences,
Denied what I have known.
I carry chains. (I carry chains.)
Heavy, heavy chains. (chains that are made.)
I carry chains (I carry chains) round my feet.
I feel the weight (I feel the weight.)
Chains are the different things that should not be hanging on me.
I put my conscience under a stone, the stone under the ground.
Walked from where I had left it. I hoped it couldnt be found.
My conscience persisted. its a haunted seed I have sown.
Calls me out from the distance
And it just wont leave me alone.
I carry chains. (I carry chains.)
Chains that are made. (chains that are made.)
I carry heavy chains. (I carry chains.)
Talk about the weight. (I feel the weight.)
Chains are the temporary things that should not be hanging on me.

The loss that is a gain
A defeat at the hand of a heavy weight
Or a defeat by a hair thin margin
Is, like success, worth remembering.
So is the aborted love to its lover.

Erotique
dark night's arms
so strong
embracing the hot moon's round shiny body
the clouds are cotton blankets
in ecstasy
the rain heavy with libido
falls
squirts the drops of rain
the thirsty mouth of the earth
opens and
quenched
the universe
watches with glee
space expands and then
explodes with joy
giving birth to a million stars

While Hair Brushing
Juliette drags the brush
through her hair you have
to brush it at least one
hundred times her mother
had said years ago and say
a prayer each time you get
it through and maybe God
will bless you and as she sits
and brushes her hair she
remembers her mother standing
over her when she was a child
and the hair was as long then
as it is now and oh God she
says how I hated it the knots
and tangles and the number of
times I used to cry each time
she pauses in front of the mirror
the brush held mid air sometimes
when she brushes her hair and
stares in the mirror she sees him
there looking at her as he did back
then watching her every move
his dark eyes greedily drinking
her in and once he placed his
hands around her waist and kissed
her neck how she cringed his spittle
still there her uncle his breath his
hands touching always when she
was alone and once when undressing
he came in and stared and said he
thought she was becoming a beautiful
young girl now she brushes her hair
again the brush stiff and heavy gripped
in her hand and as she stares into the
mirror heavy with times and care she
thinks she sees him still staring still there.
