for Miguel
when you left
there was this delusion of white mustache
this baldness that is too consuming
for those who want
to be always young
i was then a little boy
crying on a velvet blue sofa
i was aware of what was said
from grandpa's mouth in fact
there were scribbles in my heart
like some claws of birds
you do not have to come back
to point me the way you passed
i am still aware about those pains
having loved solitude
there was this party in the house
when i was sixteen and there were hands
slapping your face and i too bleed a lot
having known you much better
on your deathbed
i am still aware of the things to come
i know the secret passage
and along the way i pick you some white flowers
it is bouquet of flowers that i must offer to you
because you understand my pains too
this is our world of pains
we exit soon only to be parted again
and we say we understand the flight of the fireflies
how their lights are drowned by the rain
how the leaves finally find solace
in the silence of utter darkness when we finally find
the truth of this existence
the life after

Always There Is More To Life
life is not
a box of chocolates,
it's a bouquet of
flowers
colors of delight
scents of desire
so light
to the heart
it is what i hold
for you
in my hands
life so full of
flowers
but always there
is more to life
we feel it
when the bouquet is
finally thrown to the
air
and another one
expectant holds
it dear
someday
life will be different
a tree full of fruits
at night
fireflies in
freedom to shine
their own
lights

Intended To Be!
will we answer the call
to finally be fully human?
to lay aside our religious
and political differences?
to treat each other with
conscious and willing respect....
to finally see and understand
the beauty of diversity?
to become aware of the dependence
that we have on each other?
to understand that God, under any name,
works through the minds and bodies of humans....
to wake up and see that our Mother Earth
is dying, by our own hands!
to finally realize that life is not ownership,
but a gift we have to give to receive....
to understand that economic disparity
has nothing to do with a human being's worth!
and just for a moment, to lay down
our guns, our hatreds, and our fears....
becoming the prayer we were intended to be!

Flowers
(orbison/dees)
When I was a boy I ran among the flowers
Looking left and right at the bright array
I played through the spring, whiled away the hours
Lingered with the flowers every day
Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers, lifes bouquet
Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers, along the way
Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers, lifes bouquet
Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers, along the way
When the summer ends and the storms of life are over
When the winter comes and the petals fall away
They may write it on my stone, he was just a roller
But he stopped to pick some flowers along the way
Flowers, pretty flowers, flowers, lifes bouquet
Flowers, picked some flowers, along the way

Seeing The Young Sometimes Pains
SEEING THE YOUNG SOMETIMES PAINS
Seeing the young sometimes pains
Their lightness their eagerness
The ease of their laughter
How they effortlessly move
In a world they are making their own.
Seeing the young pains
And these old bones ache
At all the life
Never to be had again.

An Old Man Medicates His Pains Away
AN OLD MAN MEDICATES HIS PAINS AWAY
An old man medicates his pains away
He wants to live in his mind
As if his body can be temporarily forgotten-
He tries to be as he once was
Easy in the skin of himself -
But the pains the pains the pains
They come from different directions
They interrupt they remind they dismay
The pains the pains
They may go away for a time
But they don’t forget to sharpen again-
An old man does not want to think of his body as his enemy
He is no pure mind and does not dream to be
But the pains
When so many come at once
And when no medication can really put a stop to them-
They will defeat him -
Drugged into restless sleep
He will not be able to die without them.

With Or Without You There
I will always have something left to give.
With or without you,
To test my best.
And have you take that away...
Will not come to empty my heart.
Or drain it to restart to fill.
You will find that out one day.
And when you have stopped,
Portraying someone you are not....
I will still be me.
Giving and not afraid.
With or without you...
My steps have always been brave.
Even though you have tasted my weaknesses...
Don't believe I am of weakness made!
I am not...
I repeat!
I am not afraid to be me!
Or have that exposed for others to see.
With or without you,
I know happiness!
With or without you...
That is what I share.
With or without you there,
Here...
Or wherever you are,
To care or not!
I am clear about who it is I am.
With or without you,
To understand.
And I hope one day,
You will find that within yourself to say!
With or without you...
Something we once had,
Has finally arrived.
In your head...
And you are glad,
'Something' about us...
Is finally being understood!
And you can and should seek deep,
Your own happiness.
Your own to keep.
And not take away from others...
What you believe they have,
For yourself is good!
Eventually,
What is taken ceases to be.
And you will wish to stop the 'bleeding'!
But it wont and it can't,
If you could!
With or without you 'there'...
I am here and of that,
I am too well aware!

Too Much Pains
there are too much pains...
pains within the heart..
the heart that beats not
for love but wars..
there are too much pains
pains within the soul
the soul that does'nt know God
there are too much pains
pains within the troubled minds
minds who not care for ideas..

Spring Time
Spring is the heart of nature
Flowers blooming with bright lighted colors,
that lifts the sorrow,
that uncovers the pains inside another.
Pains of love of nature
Pains of peace and quiet
This time of the year,
things blossom to the humid air
where little brisks of wind touches the air
Where plenty of cotton candy clouds appear,
every minute and everyday
The new is being born
The old is fading away
Until one day
Until one moment
Everything is PERFECT! ! !

They’re Digging Their Own Graves
Flowers stopped blooming
Birds stopped nesting
Few leaves left
The tree was shocked
Failed to understand
The reason behind
Wore a dejected look
On the face
Prayed to god
Give me back
My flowers and birds
God replied
The human greed
Does not end
They leave no means
To achieve their ends
Take lives, cut trees
Do not realize
They are digging
Their own graves
Without animals and trees
No man would survive
If humans understand
You shall get
Flowers and birds back
I only provide
How to preserve?
They have to decide

Big White Petals On White Sands In Boracay
big white petals falling
on white sands
try to find out the reason
which one is which
white against white
you find a canvass
where nothing can be found
except the white silence
amidst another white silence
and true you find nothing
you think there is something there
you smile because somehow
you begin to understand
about this labyrinth that you are in
that you think you cannot escape
until you accept the truth
about this simplicity: nada y nada.

Gardener, for your broken heart!
She, don't know your song!
Either the secret of your wind, that you commands!
Or the power of the rain, that falls when you dance!
And she don't know about your pains!
But she have the key!
Just as you had!
Then, always is equal share!
And she leaves it aside.Just for a Moment!
be more calm, more garden, more flowers.
but who will be by your side?
when you hold the pen?
Who will guard your kingdom?
she, who left the key? For a secret desire?
No, i think not!
You are some in some many times!
You are the gardener!

The Purpose Of Metaphors
you like to be candid
and yet no matter what honest words
in the most simple terms
they still
refuse to understand what you really
want to mean
to say
you shall meet metaphors
those that go inside them
their tone and color and shape and scent
what you have
obviously
you begin to hide what they refuse to believe
dress them
and give them a new face a new set of arms and feet
and these all get near them
and shake hands with them
and then
they relate and begin to understand
you
how can they ever think of something else
beyond what you do not understand
you keep the emotion inside you
you give them a fragile butterfly from your mouth
and awed
they start to believe what pains you
in your hiding things
something new opens
a door, a window, a heart, a mouth

I hear and Reflect
A bell tolls sonorously
one single chime. Then silence reigns
It wakes me from my reverie.
Conscious again of aches and pains.
I had lost temporarily
in contemplation of the past
That single knell reminding me
Of the long years which quickly passed.
Before the years caught up with me
For old age does not come alone
It brings along infirmity.
Which hitherto you have not known.
When you are young you do not know
What future lies ahead of you
but as you live and learn and grow
You will become as others do.
Much more aware than what you were
of how your body will re- act.
To the stress and strain you bear.
That you must think before you act.
Gone is the energy of youth
You used to waste without a thought
You slowly come to learn the truth
That rude health can’t be sold or bought.
As long as I can hear that chime
which has disturbed my reverie
I can be certain that this time
The death knell does not ring for me.
Each day an opportunity
To do things I can still do
although slow and steadily.
My body still allows me to.
Although I pay in aches and pains
I do not think the price too high.
My interest in life remains.
I am too busy far, to die.
I know I will eventually
but do not let it worry me
It is the only certainty
the bell will toll one day for me.

Loves The Only House
(tom douglas/buzz cason)
I was standing in the grocery store line
The one they marked express
When this woman came through with about 25 things
And I said dont you know that more is less
She said this world is moving so fast
But I just get more behind with every day
And every morning when I make my coffee
I cant believe my lifes turned out this way
All I could say was
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain
He was walking by the other day and I said
Hey baby how you been?
Yeah I got me a little girl now and shes 4 years old
And shes got her daddys little grin
And you only want what you cant have
And baby you cant have me now
I gave me heart to another
Yeah Im a mother and hes a father
And weve got each other
And I found out the hard way that
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain
You drive three miles from all this prosperity
Down across the river and you see a ghetto there
And we got children walking around with guns
And they got knives with drugs and pain to spare
And here I am in my clean, white shirt
With a little money in my pocket and a nice warm home
And we got teenagers walkin around in a culture of darkness
Livin together alone, and all I can
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain
And I cant explain it and I cant understand
But Ill come down and get my hands dirty and together well make a stand
Somewhere cross the parking lot some bands playin out of tune
City streets are gonna burn if we dont do something soon
And senorita cant quit cryin, babys due now any day
Don juan left, got sick of tryin
No one there to show him the way she came down to the grocery store and
She said i, I wanna buy a little carton of milk but I dont have any money
I said hey Ill cover you honey cause the pains gotta go somewhere
Yeah the pains gotta go someplace
So come on down to my house
Dont you know that
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain in the world
Loves the only house big enough for all the pain

One Honest Man
I cant find a four-leaf cover anymore
I could find it if I wanted to
I believe if you put your mind to something
Well there aint anything in this world
You could not do
But I cant find one honest man
Why cant I find me one honest man
Dont understand
The only thing I ever wanted
Was a little bouquet of truth from him
But it gave me all the things
You cant build love on
And I am on the wrong side
Of a broken heart again
Chorus:
Why cant I find one honest man
Why cant I find me one honest man
Dont understand
If a little bitty candle
Can light of the darkness
Why cant it shine its way through
Ive been waiting a very, very, very long time
Aint no man ever gonna be true
Dont understand
Aint there a man for me
Chorus x 3 fade

Occasionally I feel like the walls around are closing in on me
Physically I feel sometimes I need seclusion to be free
The irony at last I see reality is my perception
And my personality is my reflection
I must eliminate and change yesterday's
Yesterday's pains today
I must eliminate and change yesterday's
Yesterday's pains today
I need to be set free from the smiles that are scarring my skin sarcastically
And ?? seems to comfort and freeze in full around me mentally
The irony at last I see reality is my deception
And my personality is my deflection
I must eliminate and change yesterday's
Yesterday's pains today
I must eliminate and change yesterday's
Yesterday's pains today
Can I make it?
I'll try
Can I take it?
I'll try
I've finally healed my wounds and healing the next thing and pouring out of me
The precious success becoming apparently a bigger part of me
I'm looking back at the things I cant remove the past
Ok with me
The future is brighter than I could imagine it to beand#8230;
I must eliminate and change yesterday's

Pains Of Predjudice
I have experienced pain
Undeserving and vivid pain
Pains of rejection and pains prejudice
Pain when my rights were wronged.
Pains while others endure undue harm
My heart aches, my mind bruised
From pains of emotional abuse.
I have seen and experienced it
Read about it, still living it.
Pains of prejudice.

Be aware gentlemen I dare say
For all those sugar coated lies
Ladies will have it their way
No matter what they can be sly
Be aware all gentlemen kind
The secrets are not in her kiss
Such confusion you will find
You'll never be sure of this
Be aware gentlemen or regret
Those gentle words and woes
Never once show her neglect
For such pain you will know
Be aware gentlemen and wise
Ladies come with many surprise
