Cross-eyed
I am so tense
with what I see
I check whether
I am cross-eyed
You have two faces
And you doublespeak.
well, it is not me at all,
as you say it,
it is your prerogative as a poet.....

Britney Spears - My Prerogative Lyrics
SPOKEN:
People can take everything away from you
But they can never take away your truth
But the question is..
Can you handle mine?
They say I'm crazy
I really don't care
That's my prerogative
They say I'm nasty
But I don't give a damn
Getting boys is how I live
Some ask me questions
Why am I so real?
But they don't understand me
I really don't know the deal
About my sister
Trying hard to make it right
Not long ago before I won this fight
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
[It's my prerogative]
Its the way that I wanna live
[It's my prerogative]
They can't tell me what to do...
Don't get me wrong
I'm really not souped
Ego trips is not my thing
All these strange relationships
It really gets me down
I see nothing wrong
Spreading Myself Around
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
That's my prerogative
Its the way that I wanna live
[It's my prerogative]
They can't tell me what to do...
Why can't I live my life?
Without all of the things that people say?
Ohh...
[Shout]
Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
I don't need permission
Make my own descisions (oh)
That's my prerogative
(They Say I'm crazy) Everybody's talkin' all this stuff about me
Why don't they just let me live? (tell me why)
(they say I'm nasty)I don't need permission
Make my own descisions
(ahhh)That's my prerogative

Tense
I know not
What is tense
I know
Tense has no tense.
Tense for tense
With no time
With no form
I am above tense.

Before a Poetry Reading
'Poet! Poet! Poet! Poet! '
I'm feeling nervous but I mustn't show it!
'Poet! Poet! Poet! Poet! '
I hope to heaven that I won't blow it!
'Poet! Poet! Poet! Poet! '
I mustn't reveal that I'm a second-rate poet!
I'm only a rhymer, but they don't know it!
If you've got no talent you'll have to grow it!

Attitude for justice
I am at ease to hate but tense when hated.
I am at ease to love but tense when rivaled.
I am at ease to seek but tense when rejected.
I am at ease to cuckold but tense when cuckolded.
Can there be attitude for justice?

The Poet I Am', And 'The Poet I Am Not
The poet I am, and the poet I am not
‘The poet I am’ says
To ‘the poet I am not’,
‘Why can’t I be more like you? ’
And ‘the poet I am not’ says
‘Because you are not good enough’
And ‘the poet I am’ begins to cry,
And ‘the poet I am not’ says
‘Real poets cry for more meaningful things’
And ‘the poet I am’ says ‘I am who I am and what I will be means so much to me. But still I am not the poet I wanted to be’.
And ‘the poet I am not’ says
‘Exactly. Were you less concerned with who you are and more concerned with others you might be a bit more of a poet than you are now.’
And ‘the poet I am’ is silent.
And ‘the poet I am not’is somewhere else being someone else
That ‘the poet I am and the poet I am not’ cannot see or dream.

A Palimpsest For Peace
Cross words cross across crossed wires.
Cross-purposes cross reconciliation off the list
As, crosswise, clockwise and counter-clockwise
Fight for costly cross-border dominance.
Cross voices cross between cross and crescent.
Quiescent sense lessens strength and ends
In senselessness as curses crush courtesy.
Cross-eyed viewpoints squint crossly
As cross-cultural conferences collapse.
Yet, crucially, crossed-fingers aloft,
If antagonists acquiesced in crossing over
To foster lost respect and tolerance,
We could cross off the past of bitterness,
Gross antipathy and once-crossed swords,
As cross-cooperation is consummated
As effortlessly as simply casting away
An anachronistic acrostic cryptic crossword.

A cross-eyed Tsar, one-eyed ministers, blind subjects.
Wild Eyed Southern Boys
Its a hot night at the juke joint
And the bands pumpin rhythm and blues
Gonna spill a little rock and roll blood tonight
Gonna make some front page news
And the ladies hate the violence
Still they never seem to look away
Cause they love those
Wild eyed southern boys
Wild eyed boys
Wild eyed southern boys
Its a southern point of honor
You got a get right in on the action
You can hear the outlaws holler
Fight for the lady in black
And she's just one in a million
But she's all I need tonight
Cause she loves those
Wild eyed southern boys
Wild eyed boys
Wild eyed southern boys
Wild eyed boys
Oohhh yeah
Wild eyed boys
A man of wealth and power
Is out on the dance hall floor
He got a champagne Eldorado parked outside the door
And he's looking for a honky tonk angel
But he don't stand a chance in hell
Cause he ain't no wild eyed southern boy
Wild eyed boy
Wild eyed southern boy
Wild eyed
Wild eyed southern boy
Wild eyed southern boys
Wild eyed boy
Wild eyed southern boy
Wild eyed boy
Wild eyed boy
Wild eyed southern boys
Wild eyed boys

Some Are Less Tense
Time bound, track bound, a runner is tense.
Time bound, task bound, a worker is tense.
Odd bound, risk bound, a master is tense.
Failure not minded, some are less tense.

A poem in a garbage bin
A man dies, yes he is dying.
He lived like a dead man.
Nobody knew about his whereabouts.
My dear English professor,
extremely sorry for my grammar mistakes,
you explained me about vowels, present tense,
past tense, commas, semicolon and et cetera.,
Why all these unnecessary pinchings sir!
He is already dead.
The man who hasn't a family
who worries about him?
Let him rest peacefully.
All in his lifetime he was dead
and now only he is living after the trauma.
His name is common man.

Something In This City Changes People
Maitre ds will seat me
Knowing what I spend
They offend
So sad so sad
Smiling faces greet me
Everyones my friend
They pretend
So sad so sad
They see I am happy
With my lady
Theyre not satisfied
All their feelings died
Something in this city
Changes people
Makes them devil-eyed
My love she waits for me
When Im far away
Counting days
So sad so sad
They all know our story
Still they try to play
Anyway
So sad so sad
Flashing cars and money
Funny faces
Egos magnified
Quite unjustified
Something in this city
Changes people
Makes them devil-eyed

This Poet Is Always Beside You
You are reading my poem but,
This poet is never known;
However, this poet is always beside you.
I am on your lips and,
I am in your mouth;
I am in your heart and,
I am in your mind;
Because, this poet is always beisde you.
This poet writes and others read,
This poet speaks and others listen,
And this poet is always beside you;
But, this poet is never known.
The works of this poet are on the internet,
And, they are being read by many! !
But, this poet is never known;
However, this poet is always beside you.

The first woman
She’s old but man she is so powerful
In this block,
Her favorite is black
And she makes robots
Makes them love her with a simple
Click.
She’s chinky eyed, reminiscent
Of china, where she is rooted
And she filters light, like she is
Filtering people
She is never true, she is
Doublespeak and she looks so frail
In her blacks and whites
She stabs you in the back
You bleed and you’re out
You just don’t know.
I do not like her, and she knows it
And she has no way of
Entering my door, I have always closed
It for her, or her friends or even
My mother-in-law or even
My wife.
She has no way getting in
But she manages somehow
Inside my dream
There she says she misses me and
Asks me what am I doing to myself
And that she can do everything for
Me
She can be my robot
I refuse. There is no way that she can
Take even a single hair.
She cannot just pretend to be a robot.
That is never true.
I have known her and made
Her a period. She’s small and insignificant
And I want her to leave at once
Go away.
She is power. I do not need her.
Even in my dream.

Disengaged Warriors
Wearing darkness
With an empty smile
Conformed crowd
Safety in numbers
Gleefully mount
Their moral towers
Fruitless, lipservice
Scatters words
Wise in their own eyes
Deaf-blind to others
Campaign addicts
House – check
Green wellies - check
Holidays – check
Sat-Nav – Check
Cause for the day is…
Dib, dib, dib…O yes!
Badge, wristband – check
Like yes… really…ok….
Car – check
Causes – check
Opinion – unchecked.
Tirelessly they bore to death
Disengaged warriors for change
Pour lipservice onto wounds
Change for you, change for me,
No change for them – change – check.
Brown rice brigade - check
Disengaged – check!

Cross Eyed Mary
Who would be a poor man, a beggerman, a thief
if he had a rich man in his hand
And who would steal the candy from a laughing baby's mouth
if he could take it from the money man
Cross-eyed Mary goes jumping in again
She signs no contract but she always plays it clean
She dines in Hampstead village on expense accounted gruel
and the jack knife barber drops her off at school
Laughing in the playground gets no kicks from little boys
would rather make it with a letching gray
Or maybe her attention is drawn by Aqualung
who watches through the railings as they play
Cross-eyed Mary finds it hard to get along
A poor man's rich girl and she'll do it for a song
A rich man's stealer but her favour's good and strong
She's the Robin Hood of Highgate helps the poor man get along
Laughing in the playground gets no kicks from little boys
would rather make it with a letching gray
Or maybe her attention is drawn by Aqualung
who watches through the railings as they play
Cross-eyed Mary goes jumping in again
She signs no contract but she always plays it clean
She dines in Hampstead village on expense accounted gruel
and the jack knife barber drops her off at school
Cross-eyed Mary, Oh Mary.... Oh cross-eyed Mary

Poet is free
Poet is free
No grammarian can guide the poet
Do not tell before a poet you are dare
And I know there are so many grammarians
With so many grammars
The poet is one with truth with love
All the grammars old middle modern
Are of no use for a poet
At the time of poet's thought
Poet's love poet's poetry
Nobody can search research poet's history
Nobody can dare to described poet
Poet can create his own language
His own grammar and it does not bother the poet
Whether you like it or not
Leave the poet on his own way
It is better you to read him love him
If you are alive.

Forgetting the feeling
Of barefoot
And bare
Hands
She ventures
On thick face and
Lips that doublespeak
She’s gone out
Her own fence.
she will be wild at
first
then she will be
painful

Poets and critics
The poet is a child, emotion ridden.
The critic is a teacher, a check dam.
The poet bursts to cry or weep.
The critic stands there with a whip.

Future Tense
(myles goodwyn)
Published by northern goody two tunes, ltd./capac - ascap
Each moments just a reflex
Response is just a motion
The pressure never ends baby
I hope it dont drive me crazy
I dont wanna be a poor boy
It dont help to say gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme
I aint foolin myself now
All I know is what I feel
I know I dont like it
You cant disagree
Come on, say itll be alright
I say yeah, yeah, yeah
Future tense, gone too far
Future tense, a world apart
Future tense, more than a feeling in my heart
Oh yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I feel a little unbalanced
Between the pros and the con men
I try for satisfaction
You always let it slide
Every day is like the last day
Whatever happened to 50, 50, 50, 50
I dont have a solution
All I know is what I feel baby
I heard about the good life
Id like to give it a try
They say its gonna be alright
I say yeah, yeah, yeah
Future tense, is what I feel
Future tense, is what I see
Future tense, as much for you as it is for me
Oh yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah)
If you dont like somebody
Say leave me alone
Its just like a bad time
You have to make good on your own
Were racing through time now
Its all hit and run
You say its gonna be alright
I say yeah, yeah, yeah
Future tense, weve gone too far
Future tense, a world apart
Future tense, more than a feelin in my heart
Oh no (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh no (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh no (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh no (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh no (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Oh no (yeah, yeah, yeah)
No (yeah), no (yeah), no (yeah), oh no
