Companion In The Room...

keep watching
over a tiny candle light
be careful with your breath
close the windows
lock the doors

on still air
and cold stare
the tiny candle
light shall
be alive and
warm

Babylon Candle

I see your smoke curling up
your tiny flame trembles
black in the center
I smile
what heat can you bring?
can you light my way?
what lies in the shadows
just outside my pool of light?
I will not be frightened
I promise
maybe curious
I will creep and tip-toe and sneak in the night
you my only light
dripping
waning
waxing
melting, hot and liquid
light my path
that I will tread
till my hardy light goes out
a lump of wax all that remains of my journey

'How many miles to Babylon?
Three score miles and ten.
Can I get there by candle-light?
Yes, and back again.
If your heels are nimble and light,
You may get there by candle-light.'

Single Candle Light

The warm glow of a single candle flame
beckons a weary stranger there
to the bosom of a warm fire in
from the nighttime's cold.
A warm caring heart keeps the candle lit
to welcome back their love
from their long and lonely trek.
Each night they light the candle,
and sit waiting all alone,
hoping one night their love,
will glance on it
and return to their loving home.
The warm stretching finger
prods the darkness every night,
as it can be seen from miles away
across the empty prairie,
as they sit alone each night
by the warm fair light.
Hoping that their love will see its warm glow
and return to it and come home tonight
from their long and weary trek.
For years, the candle was lit,
but sadly, it shines no more.
Love broke the lonely heart
when they never came home.
Now all you can hear is a lonesome whistle
when the wind blows cold at night.
It has replaced that warm glow
of that single candle light.

Light Blub and the Candle

Candle: 'You think your so bright.'

Light Blub: 'I'm supposed to be that way.'
But at least I don't go out, everytime a breeze blows in.'

Candle: 'Hey I have been here longer than you.'

Light Blub: 'Edison invented me, who invented you? '

Candle: 'Don't really know for sure, but I have been around longer.'

Light Blub: 'You already said that.'

Candle: ' I get so mad, everytime someone says, they have an idea
they compare it to a light blub.'

Light Blub: 'Who else.'

Candle: ' When the power goes out, were the first things people reach
for.'

Light Blub: 'Yes, but as soon as the power comes back on, they put
you away.'

Edison: 'Listen here you two, you both serve a purpose and are
needed very much, don't you see.'

Light Blub: ' He's right, I'm sorry candle.'

Candle: 'Your forgiven, light blub, so am I.'

Season Of Loving And Dying

i

the season of loving
is the song in the morning
you keep humming
because the love last night
was so warm

ii

on the next season
comes that of the dying day
when things are kept inside
for fear that others may steal them from us
when we lock the doors and windows
when we light a candle
in the darkness of our souls
when we seek sleep
because light begins to hurt
our eyes
when we take shelter on dreams
because reality begins
to hurt

Candles

Faith for reasons still unknown
Like bleak house fog seems everywhere
The truth has frozen into stone
And hope lies freezing in the midnight air
Though dark our days may seem
This is a different dream
Their freedom light dont shine at all
So I will light a candle for you
Keep it burning in the night
And pray that you are all right
I will light a candle for you
Little candle burning bright
When school yard heroes disappeared
The little girl, she stands alone
Oh I believe you if you say
A prayer can help to get her home
So I will light a candle for you
Keep it burning in the night
And pray that you are all right
I will light a candle for you
Little candle burning bright

A Tiny Spark

A tiny spark of your kindness
Will make a difference
To this world of confusion, hatred, fear and pride

You look with love in your eyes for others
When their tides of life run against them
And their spirit is downcast and low

Each time you do an act of kindness
God smiles and blesses you
For in serving those troubled heart
You serve and pleases HIM too

The tiny spark of love and concern you gave
To the empty, the unloved and the afflicted
Will make a difference
To those who needs to be loved and cared for

The flawless melody coming from your heart
Brightens up a dreary day that dawned dismally
The joy and happiness you give away
Returns to shine on you everyday

The heaven above have seen you
An undivided faith and mission surrounds you
A tiny spark of your one little candle
Would very soon eclipse
The evening star of this dark world
Lightens up everybody’s corner where they are

Let us light that candle again
Just one little candle, one tiny spark
Lighting at the end of a dark tunnel

And when the final curtain falls
We can tell to ourselves
It’s been a wonderful journey…

Candle Of Hope

I light this candle of hope
For the people in Mindanao
Particularly in Maguindanao
A southern part in our country, the Philippines.

I light this candle of hope
For the weeping child, for the abused
For the weak women, tortured and some buried alive

I light this candle of hope
For the widows, widowers, orphans
for the mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers.

This Christmas, I know it will be very hard
To celebrate Christmas with joy in your heart
It is not easy to lose a loved one.

Your tears will be gone, in His time
Your broken heart will be whole
Just keep that faith inside in each one of you
And keep this candle of hope burning..burning

Note: Please light your Candle of Hope too for them.
In your own little way, you have helped them lighten their load.
Thank you and God bless

Candles

candle
it is used to light up
your years

candle
it is used to blow out
your years

candle
it is used to turn shadows
into animals

candle
it is used to help us see
the real from the shadows

candle
love and passion drip
through the wedding night

candle
a lump of spent energy
after all is over

Leave A Candle

Leave a candle burning bright
So that I may see tonight
The darkness pushing all around
Drowning out my every sound
Leave a candle on the sill
If no one does so then I will
I'll light the candle on my own
And I'll fight on all alone
Leave a candle let it sing
Else I can't stop my cutting
My blood will flow out, drip, and fall
As shadows move across the wall
Leave a candle to the end
It shall be my only friend
Let it burn untill my death
And blow it out with my last breath
Leave a candle in the dark
So it leaves it's glowing mark
And guides me to my final rest
Cause I failed the living test

Light A Candle

Some roads we take,
are long and dusty,
others are dark and gloomy.
It is then we need a little light
to show us the way.
Light a candle,
when the dark shadows descend,
let its light guide you
to a brighter day.

Light a candle
to see your way through,
when the world
starts closing it on you.
Lets its light be the beacon
to lead you away from distress.
Light a candle,
keep it burning bright,
and let it guide you day and night.

One Candle

A spark flickers
a bright flame glows.
Pushing shadows back
one candle burns.

Within its heart
such strength is born.
Brings the will to persevere
in the darkest hours.

From one burning candle
no matter near or far.
Like a living soul
warm energy flows.

To one who is lost
this tiny radiance
lights a dark path.
It shows the way.

Think of the good
could be done.
Had one the power
of a single burning candle.

A Candle And A Man.

Someone lights a candle
And I see the things around.
A candle must burn like this
Nay, every candle must burn like this.
I begin to tell every one.

A candle dies as it lives for us
And we appear to live while we travel towards the end.
A candle lives and lives while it appears to be dying..
A lot we have to learn.
I begin to learn none.

It`s a candle which lives and lives throws greater questions
And I begin to be introceptive
-A mental exercise on a confined mind.
When shall I begin to live like a candle?
When shall I give out a flame that lives?

The questions begin to boomerang on me
As I sit in the candle light and see everything.
I see everything?
I miss to see a candle too.
The ghost of a candle haunts me.

Candle light...

Candle light, oh candle light,
Why do you shine so bright?
I can not touch, no I can not touch you,
But you always light up my life.

Candle light, my candle light,
I'm glad you are still in my sight,
Even a wind would come, or a rain fall down,
Please don't disappear from my sight!

I don't expect you to shine so bright often,
I don't expect you to light up my life,
I only want you to be you... and be happy with that,
Coz I know no one can match your light!

The Gentleman's Tear

At the candle light

And the dark around

He is sitting there alone

There is another light

Glowing bright from his heart

So pure and bright

Just I wished if I knew

Why he was sitting there alone.

Oh, how a cute gentleman!

At the magic nihgt

Under the candle light

What he was thinking about

That good hearted gentleman!

What a Deep! Deep! thoughts

Just If It could be seen

At the dark of the night!

What was thinking about

While he was touching the candle light

O, my God what was going on

How can be this true

At the darkness night

Under the candle light

Two drops of tears slipped from those charming eyes

I saw his face

The tears were rolling down

What could be the reason to make those eyes cry?

At the darkness nihgt

Under the candle light

Just I wanted if my wish would become true

Just I wished if I could be his light.

And wipe away the gloom

John Bunyan

Of The Flie At The Candle

hat ails this fly thus desperately to enter
A combat with the candle? Will she venture
To clash at light? Away, thou silly fly;
Thus doing thou wilt burn thy wings and die.
But 'tis a folly her advice to give,
She'll kill the candle, or she will not live.
Slap, says she, at it; then she makes retreat,
So wheels about, and doth her blows repeat.
Nor doth the candle let her quite escape,
But gives some little check unto the ape:
Throws up her heels it doth, so down she falls,
Where she lies sprawling, and for succour calls.
When she recovers, up she gets again,
And at the candle comes with might and main,
But now behold, the candle takes the fly,
And holds her, till she doth by burning die.

Comparison.

This candle is an emblem of that light
Our gospel gives in this our darksome night.
The fly a lively picture is of those
That hate and do this gospel light oppose.
At last the gospel doth become their snare,
Doth them with burning hands in pieces tear.

Creatures

The lights in the house have all gone off,
perhaps the storm is the reason why.
The flash light batteries are all dead,
but there's a candle to get you by.

In the dark you search for a box of matches
and swear they were in the kitchen draw.
You come across a box with only two inside,
that's one extra just to make sure.

One match is spent, but the candle is lit,
what will you do with your time
The thunder claps and lightning flashes,
and shadows dance on the blinds.

You are nervous and alone in your house,
and decide to retire for the night.
The shadows accompany you to your bed,
one jumps and gives you a fright.

Lying in your bed you cannot sleep
and listen to the noises of the storm.
An uneasy feeling still lies with you,
but at least you're snug and warm.

You swear you heard an unusual noise
followed by a high pitched shrill.
Can you really hear finger nails scratching
around the windowpane and sill?

Did you lock the bedroom door,
can you say that in all honesty?
Should you check just to make sure?
There, I told you, I did turn the key.

Locking your windows and doors
won't stop the creatures getting in.
They can enter whenever they want,
if you're awake or even sleeping.

That One Blue Candle

(danny okeefe/vince melamed)
Turn out the light
Darkness makes me sentimental
Warm breeze wraps around us
And theres comfort in your voice
On second thought
Please leave on that one blue candle
Life reveals your secrets
And it gives my eyes a choice
All the shadows dance upon the walls
Love is all thats left to say
As the glow from that one blue candle
Softly lights the way
And tomorrow when the world returns
And the shadows of the night depart
Will the light from that one blue candle
Still be burning in our hearts?
By candle light
These moments slowly melt together
And well make love last forever
This time its only us
All the shadows dance upon the walls
Love is all thats left to save
As the glow from that one blue candle
Softly lights the way
And tomorrow when the world returns
And the shadows of the night depart
Will the light from that one blue candle?
Still be burning in our hearts
Still be burning in our hearts
Still be burning in our hearts

Candle in the Wind

Candle in the Wind
entrancing, entrancing
the way you flicker and flicker
holding on so tenuously
tenaciously to the light of life
to stage a shadow dance

you tiptoe your way so
effortlessly and subtly onto
my heart, my soul, evoking
memories of last autumn
you stepped out of my life,
so sudden, so abrupt, the leaves
strained to hold a a million of your smiles
gliding, trailing, twirling in the winds

your memories now flicker
flicker like the bristles of an artist's brush
that infuses a pastiche of warm
and rueful pathos onto our
fleeting and fluctuating relationships

candle in the wind
I feel like a candle in the wind
holding onto its light
fighting to keep myself alighted,
to make my own existence relevant

candle in the wind
I feel like a candle in the wind
holding onto light
fighting to keep my own
existence relevant
