Communion
my feet shall tread upon grass
the grass spreads upon a topping of pebbles
the pebbles plunge on the river
the banks keep the stretch
until it reaches the mouth of the sea
and the sea spreads its arms all throughout the
continents of the earth's bodily contours
with the winds that takes the clouds with them
drifting along the curves of mountains and its peaks
until it communes with the myriad shining stars
at night with you
my world has become complete
warm and lovely
in communion with your
body and soul
i have become so full.

Rooted To Reality
the stars faithful
to its glittering even in the
storm
the sun without failure
shining every morning
the moon afloat on the
river
sailing by the marsh
soundlessly
the creeks that flow
against the pebbles
the grass that spreads
itself upon itself
the clouds that drift
incessantly
the self that lives
despite
the consciousness that thrives
amidst the numbness
of the dead.

From The Heart Of Me
Voices slide down off the mountain, sunlight turning red
Falls on the earth and it spreads
Even the families lower their heads as they ride
Age old faces of the mountains looming naturally
I wonder if theyre looking at me, their monumental eyes I can feel
In the glow of the twilight the thought of home
Reminds me now Im reaching out to you
Anything I can do to be safe and warm in your arms
All I have from the heart of you
Id meet you anywhere in the country or anywhere on the sea
All over the world it could be I would follow you with the heart of me
Remembering you hold me tight in tomorrow mornings light I will fine you
When I awoke the stars were out and shining, shining for you and me
All I ever wanna be is save and warm in your arms
All I have, from the heart of me

The Creeks Of Thoughts
there is this poetry
that wriggles like a snake
that transforms itself
into a creek
that coddles the banks
of the rivers
the feet of mountains
that mirrors the moon
that serves as map
for clouds drifting
there is this pathway
full of grass
that leads us to
nowhere
but we are confident
about the
happy ending

Sprouting As A Phoenix By Em
does no less than denude its object of the one thing which he has which is of value, and so it degrades him effectively.'
subjectify me?
where?
it is only through our
communion
that you make me a
subject
when you go away again
you may think
that i have become a stone
you are wrong
you have already subjectified me as a
bird with eight wings
did you not see it in the navel of my body?
did you not smell it on the scent of my armpits?
when you were inside me did you not feel that i am someone so different
than before
when you only caressed my hair and kissed my neck
and licked my butt?
lover, do not underestimate my being
for i am being and you are being
in fact
i am more free than what you are
to your pebbles i am the river
to your twigs i am the leaves
to your clouds i am now the winds of chances
i now own the world
inside my mouth
and my tongue knows how to play your games
i am now a goddess transformed by your love
from the mud that i used to be
it is enough then
as you leave to your world where your heart belongs
i have already sprouted as a
Phoenix.

Those That Merely Wait And Unmoved
walking, just walking, sometimes just this
no thoughts, no decisions, just plain walking
you see the light of the day
striking on the trees and plains and the daffodils
you are not part of it, you are just walking it
you are met by the wind from the mountain
you are not talking you are not interested about
what this wind these trees these daffodils are bringing you
you do not show any interest at all about some leaves falling
the light spreads and sprawls on the grass and sand and pebbles
you are not dazzled you are not completely covered by light
you are just walking, stepping into God's own creation
spectator, just plain walking in, not involved, not commenting
just plain watching, those that crawl and sprawl, those that stay and leave
those that simply lay themselves as plain receptors, grass and sang
mountains and trees, and daffodils, those that merely wait and unmoved.

Love Poem
Yours is the face that the earth turns to me,
Continuous beyond its human features lie
The mountain forms that rest against the sky.
With your eyes, the reflecting rainbow, the sun's light
Sees me; forest and flower, bird and beast
Know and hold me forever in the world's thought,
Creation's deep untroubled retrospect.
When your hand touches mine it is the earth
That takes me--the green grass,
And rocks and rivers; the green graves,
And children still unborn, and ancestors,
In love passed down from hand to hand from God.
Your love comes from the creation of the world,
From those paternal fingers, streaming through the clouds
That break with light the surface of the sea.
Here, where I trace your body with my hand,
Love's presence has no end;
For these, your arms that hold me, are the world's.
In us, the continents, clouds and oceans meet
Our arbitrary selves, extensive with the night,
Lost, in the heart's worship, and the body's sleep.

In The Farm
i want to spell
freedom for her
we are two here
in this farm
where coconuts
are old and tall
where the grass
spreads like crazy
where the spring
of water does not
cease pouring from
the slit of the earth
this morning
i go to the nearby
river naked
and sensing that
she has only the
pillow in bed
she follows me
and there she
undresses herself
naked like me and
she spells freedom
perfectly: cool
and smooth to our
skin, too warm in
our hearts, peaceful
and private world.

Matamoras Banks
(Each year many die crossing the deserts,
mountains and rivers of our southern border
in search of a better life. Here I follow the
journey backwards, from the body at the
river bottom, to the man walking across
the desert towards the banks of the Rio Grande.)
For two days the river keeps you down
Then you rise to the light without a sound
Past the playgrounds and empty switching yards
The turtles eat the skin from your eyes, so they lay open to the stars
Your clothes give way to the current and river stone
'Till every trace of who you ever were is gone
And the things of the earth they make their claim
That the things of heaven may do the same
Goodbye, my darling, for your love I give God thanks,
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros banks
Over rivers of stone and ancient ocean beds
I walk on sandals of twine and tire tread
My pockets full of dust, my mouth filled with cool stone
The pale moon opens the earth to its bones
I long, my darling, for your kiss, for your sweet love I give God thanks
The touch of your loving fingertips
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros banks
Your sweet memory comes on the evenin' wind
I sleep and dream of holding you in my arms again
The lights of Brownsville, across the river shine
A shout rings out and into the silty red river I dive
I long, my darling, for your kiss, for your sweet love I give God thanks
A touch of your loving fingertips
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros
Meet me on the Matamoros banks

On Writing...
because there is no one
you can trust now,
feeling so alone, and have no one to speak to
with honesty,
you have decided to befriend yourself
welcoming to the house of your body
your soul, your best friend now,
sharing bed with you, looking at the stars at night
with you,
and since the world is so silent
and sad
there is no choice but to talk to yourself
to the trees
the grass
and then your hands
become one big river with ten tributaries
all move towards your heart
your mouth
and from which
since then
writing begins...

Through The Eyes Of A Poet
Through the eyes of a poet
The stars shone so brightly
the moonbeams danced across the wave
flickering lights spreads its glow
into the deepest darkest night
starlight’s shining deep into the night
until the flicker of dawn
rays of sunshine spread across the land
warming the grass the sand
one looks upon the beauty
that mother nature displays
in rainbows of colours
that splash across the day
winds whisper softly in the breeze
butterfly gently flutter in its wake
dancing and swaying to the midsummer breeze
one sighs as we feel the sunshine warm on our face
embracing the beauty that sprawls its splendor around me
Then high above the sky painted
In colours by the hands of our Lord father from above
Shines the rainbow of colours
To remind us the beauty
Of the Earth
Our mother land

I'd give you everything
I'd give you everything
~
I'd give you everything
take down the stars and the moon
to light your palm to read
break mountains into pebbles
or the finest of sands
smoothe beneath your feet
purify the rivers and oceans
so you may drink them
to answer any thirst
I’d give you everything
the song that birds sing
the rise of the morning sun
that first whisper of a dream
I'd give you everything
my heart, my soul complete
my ears to your words
whatever they may be
the entire world
and the sky above
I'd catch it all for you
my love I promise this
I'd give you everything

Acceptance Of Wisdom
what i know most
and i guess i have become
an expert on this
is...
that i do not not really know
hence i feel
the need to know
what i do not know
makes me wonder somehow
about wonder.
and looking at the stars
i fall on the floor
of grass
and pebbles.

How To Deal With A Very Beautiful Disciple
she comes like a princess from the
a castle high up there on those blue clouds
descending from the sun
down to the mountains
and the rivers
and to this
pond
i am the grass, and she wants to lie down with me
so i can teach her about what, i ask, about poetry she says,
no there is no poetry with me for
i am the grass, and you signal the wind so you may leave at once
and be back to the arms of the heavens
but i think a while and change my mind for i am the grass
and i am a teacher of all mankind, those who want to die and be
covered with my hands, and those who want to stay and be
with my greeness, my softness and i in humility whispers to her
my princess, stay with me for a while, lie with me, and sleep with me
under the moon, the darkness of the night shall be our blanket,
my thick leaves of grass, your pillow,
i am the grass, i may not teach you what poetry is,
what i have is to spread
love and togetherness, and intimacy that i have with the soil
my secrets with the worms, my eternity
with what death has concealed from the eyes of your world.

Amor Vitae
I love the warm bare earth and all
That works and dreams thereon:
I love the seasons yet to fall:
I love the ages gone,
The valleys with the sheeted grain,
The river's smiling might,
The merry wind, the rustling rain,
The vastness of the night.
I love the morning's flame, the steep
Where down the vapour clings:
I love the clouds that float and sleep,
And every bird that sings.
I love the purple shower that pours
On far-off fields at even:
I love the pine-wood dusk whose floors
Are like the courts of heaven.
I love the heaven's azure span,
The grass beneath my feet:
I love the face of every man
Whose thought is swift and sweet.
I let the wrangling world go by,
And like an idle breath
Its echoes and its phantoms fly:
I care no jot for death.
Time like a Titan bright and strong
Spreads one enchanted gleam:
Each hour is but a fluted song,
And life a lofty dream.

Someone In The Dark
Written and composed by michael jackson
(opening version)
All alone wishing on stars
Waiting for you to find me
One sweet night I knew I would see
A stranger whod be my friend
When someone in the dark reaches out to you
And touches off a spark that comes shining through
It tells you never be afraid
Then somewhere in your heart you can feel the glow
A light to keep you warm when the night winds blow
Like it was written in the stars I knew
My friend, my someone in the dark was you
Promise me well always be
Walking the world together
Hand in hand where dreams never end
My star secret friend and me
When someone in the dark reaches out to you
And touches off a spark that comes shining through
It tells you never be afraid
Then somewhere in your heart you can feel the glow
A light to keep you warm when the night winds blow
Look for the rainbow in the sky
I believe you and i
Could never really say goodbye
Wherever you may be
Ill look up and see
Someone in the dark for me
Wherever you may be
Ill look up and see
Someone in the dark for me
(closing version)
Though youre gone star far away
Each time I see a rainbow
Ill remember being with you
Smiles coming through my tears
When someone in the dark reaches out for you
And touches off a spark that comes shining through
It tells you never be afraid
Then somewhere in your heart you can feel the glow
A light to keep you warm when the night winds blow
Look for the rainbow in the sky
I believe you and i
Could never really say goodbye
Wherever you may be
Ill look up and see
Someone in the dark for me
Wherever you may be
Ill look up and see
Someone in the dark for me!

For I Have Become Murky
i am the river beside you and you are the woman
wanting to go naked and take a bath in my mouth
while wading you think of the calmness of the
a pond, some petals of roses, air showered with
white magnolias,
i am the river beside you and my ripples are tongues.
i move around loving every part of you.
and you tiptoe and wriggle and sing for i am winding
you take the plunge and you search for my heart
the warmth of my floor and the comfort of my banks
the tickles of my fish, the power of my pebbles
you feel that i own you now and you want some more
wanting to stay and savor the embrace of my foams
at noon the sun comes at the height of its brightness
you realize the mistake & you stand and dress yourself
you never want to be a part of me for i have become murky

The River And Her
in the slow history of the river flowing
she wants to mark her own name with her fingers
religiously she goes there on a ritual of her own
naked she dips her skin on the water
so soft are her feet on the bed of pebbles
deep down the fishes ask for more of her toes
touched the river begins to sing a song for her
the bamboo leaves keep watching what happens next
will love dance on the surface of flimsy reasons?
will passion appear and last forever?
the banks want to close in on them: the river and her
the sun is worried what will happen next
it did end, but it was sad, as sad as the butterfly that lost one of its wings.
the river loses its name as she plunges deep to the tight arms of death.

Pre-Existence
I laid me down upon the shore
And dreamed a little space;
I heard the great waves break and roar;
The sun was on my face.
My idle hands and fingers brown
Played with the pebbles grey;
The waves came up, the waves went down,
Most thundering and gay.
The pebbles, they were smooth and round
And warm upon my hands,
Like little people I had found
Sitting among the sands.
The grains of sands so shining-small
Soft through my fingers ran;
The sun shone down upon it all,
And so my dream began:
How all of this had been before;
How ages far away
I lay on some forgotten shore
As here I lie to-day.
The waves came shining up the sands,
As here to-day they shine;
And in my pre-pelasgian hands
The sand was warm and fine.
I have forgotten whence I came,
Or what my home might be,
Or by what strange and savage name
I called that thundering sea.
I only know the sun shone down
As still it shines to-day,
And in my fingers long and brown
The little pebbles lay.

Above All Shady Things!
All the heaviness of the heart wears not, like, rising the carousing sun,
Spills rainbow jewels, on the blade of every grass and leaf undone,
Curbed by things low and mean, pebbles hurled over water,
To even out the seams of the creased uneven world's border,
Like clouds surmounts lofty peaks, attempts things above its strength,
Untangled in any tempting prosperity breaking through the reserve of mine,
Pleading no excuse of impossibility, tossed to the wind claim the pollen,
Seeing things to their end, unruffled by the mock of the bow of heaven,
Where others would faint and fall, fear urges on, without despair,
Weary but not tired, to press on towards the sea, like the river,
To keep it close to the heart as the stars in the dark keep their light,
Forcing itself upwards like a lily above the betraying surface, buoyant,
Revealing things you withheld from me, holding my hand,
Now in your absence leave me with the intoxication of your presence

A Path Of Brown Stain...
the heavy rain from the sky
pours upon the heads of the mountains
the rain takes upon its feet the rivers on a journey to the mouth of the sea
it escapes and creates a brown island that spreads on the belly of the sea
it is not beautiful to see
how stains are made
the sea is sinful and it will always be
