Busy Streets And Noisy Malls

confronted about
these noisy streets
and crowded malls
and honking motors
in traffic jams

i go within
into that peaceful
haven
inside my mind
my heart
sleeping in the cozy
nook
of my being.

Life Is What It Is

Why do we have to go and face the same routine
And the traffic jams and crowded streets a real
Neurotic scene
I dont know, why do we take it each day, yeah
Why does my girl tell me shes got to
Have her way
Out all night, come home to fight
What am I to say
I dont know, why do we take it each day
Life is what it is
Who wants to try not to believe
Thats the way it is
Oh, oh
I dont know why what you feel inside
Days go on
Love is something that you just cant hide
If its wrong
Then youll want to know, you dont know why
I sing a song
And it helps me yet Ill get by
At times
Lost in time sometimes your mind unwinds
Sun does shine
But no pleasure from your beautys mine
Like champagne wine
A bitter taste thats so refined
Life its fine
You always pay for whats behind
Why do I have to go and face the same routine
And the traffic jams and crowded streets a real
Neurotic scene
I dont know, why do we take it each day, yeah
Life is what it is
Who wants to try not to believe
Thats the way it is

Oh!

We met as two consenting adults in some
Busy, crowded malls, and we offered our true names,
We like each other, we love the way we talk
It was easy, we are two consenting adults and we
Met again somewhere, not in the crowded mall
Not in the busy street, not in the church to pray,
We are lovers, we are two consenting adults,
We are the new lovers, and we know what is the
Secrecy of love its sanctity when we as consenting adults
Met again, and we are naked,
We have embraced ourselves as truths not as lies
In the open
In our openness, we swallowed ourselves in utter openness
We welcome what happened
We said it was wonderful we want to meet again and feel
So wonderful
We have the will, we have the free will, we are free

Then you said something while you were alone and distant
Yes it was wonderful but it was when I lost my senses,
You chided me, you were lost when we did something wonderful
And you said it was something dirty, you have indulged in the
Arms of the wrong person, in the wrong hours, in the wrong places,
You even vomited what wonderful was it that was swallowed

By you as a consenting adult, and I as a consenting adult
I thought it is wonderful and I always
Think it is wonderful, I do not know what dirty is
I was not raised in dirt, I do not know dirt, I am not dirty

Days and days, you reflected upon its wonder, the wonder of what we did and you call me back, you emailed, you texted

You like to meet me again in some crowded malls, in some busy streets we start all over again to trace the maze of amazement again
You offer your true name again, your senses in full you smile
You are a traffic sign blinking the green for go again

The wrong person is here, he is now lost in his senses too,
You called the wrong number, you emailed the wrong mails,
You texted the wrong number, you will be calling the wrong person

That wrong person has gone away, he is the wrong person to your
Thousand eyes and he has no more reason left to stay. He cannot wait for you, the malls are crowded, the streets are busy, and the door of
The house is now closed. And he is now the traffic sign which blinks
The red for stop.

There is no one to be blamed, It is our upbringing that brings

the end.

City Streets

The gaudy glow of neon lights
dispels the darkness of the nights
on city streets.

They pop and fizzle noisily
creating a cacophony
on city streets.

The sober folks walk warily
and drunks stagger uncaringly
on city streets.

The ladies of the night parade
for there is money to be made
on city streets.

Drug dealers ready to retreat
if they should hear a coppers feet
on city streets.

The night shift workers wend their way
towards their work to start their day
on city streets.

The noisy revellers thin out
as one by one the signs go out
on city streets.

The gradually noises abate
and ghostly shadow congregate
on city streets.

For some few hours peace will reign
before the noise will start again
on city streets.

The early morning traffic sounds
start with the milkmen on their rounds
on city streets.

This builds up to an angry roar
as cars and lorries inward pour
on city streets

then when at last rush hour has passed
noise levels will subside at last
on city streets

I thank the lord that I am free
to leave this noise far behind me
on city streets.

I walked my beat the whole night
through exactly as I’m paid to do
on city streets.

I choose to live outside the town
where constant noise won’t get me down
on city streets.

My village is a quiet place
A haven where I need not face
the noisy streets.

Crowded

Crowded

Spirits walking on the roofs
no fear to fall or slide
no spirit of the dead
that did ever die
it's really crowded in the sky
and crowded in the streets
spouses and sprouts in all houses
crowded in my head am I
crowded in the underground
crowded in my ears
look what i have found;
my face crowded in tears.

One Sunny Day I Dreamt

One sunny day I dreamt
I saw a world of pure light-
the purest light that danced inside
my heart and poured upon
the city streets with joy...
One sunny day I dreamt
I saw my love, her smile
upon me like a gentle wind,
somewhere beyond the lonely
shopping malls, beyond
the hungry beggars stooping
dazed and staring at the vulgar
wealth that burns the eyes...
One sunny day I dreamt a paradise!
And then I laughed a very silly
laugh that burst inside me
like a flock of birds that
seemed like people arguing inside
about vacuum cleaners, underwear,
cars, recession, pimples, prices,
and old wars...
One sunny day I dreamt my tears
were like precious gems inside
each living room and bedroom on
display, available to all at no cost!
One sunny day I was a poet lost,
directing all the traffic on
the streets with nothing but
my eyes...
One day-one lonely sunny day-
I dreamt I saw you, darling,
in this sea of lies
where everything is safe
and guaranteed, where
everything is sold to
satisfy your every wish
and need-whether you
need it or you need it not,
it doesn't matter much...
One sunny day I dreamt
I felt your touch that woke
me up to write this childish song...
I looked for you, my love, but you were gone.

050311E it's place not fish

there's man made lake close
with three giant sprinklers, nice
banks planted with pine trees
very tall now, i have clear view
besides protruding flower plots
they also stock with fish, bass

i haven't seen anybody fish there
maybe because it's surrounded
by parking lots, highway, buildings
noisy traffic, noisy shoppers, busy
i wouldn't mine do catch and release
for a fisherman, it's fishing on a tub

Haven’t Been Missing You

Since you moved away
It has been terribly noisy
The traffic
The horns
The sirens
I can hear every sound in New York City
Although I live in a forest 10 hours away
But I haven’t been missing you

Winter Symphony

Autumn colors have gone
Birds fled south with their song
Snowflakes cover the earth quietly
Night extends through the hours
Coolly lit by the stars
The pulse of life slows silently
Cuddle up in a cozy nook
With a warm drink and a book
Within a winter symphony
Somewhere children outside
Screamin down a daredevil slide
Rosy-cheeked bundles of cold-weather clothes
Hear the winter winds howl
Pierced by the hoot of an owl
Fingers of frost take a nip at my nose
Cuddle up in a cozy nook
With a warm drink and a book
Within a winter symphony
Winter symphony
Snowflake fantasy
Warms my heart like a tropic sea
There the sun always shines
There youll always be mine
All in a winter symphony
Winter symphony
Snowflake fantasy
Warms my heart like a tropic sea
There the sun always shines
There youll always be mine
All in a winter symphony

City Of Angels

Shafting sunbeams. misty eddies,
towering, sculpted, shining chedis,
thundering traffic, six lane highways,
swampy, shabby, back-street by-ways,
mangoes, sticky rice, dom yams,
squeezed into the Mother of all Traffic Jams…..

Face of the City

The glow of a late Autumn Sunset,
Gleamed over the dense city streets.
Rushing wheels and honking horns,
Halted awhile for the traffic signs.

Through the rows of rushing motors,
Men on bikes ploughed their way.
They squished and squeezed through every gap,
Caring a naught for the traffic rules.

With jarring siren, the Ambulance jeep,
Speeded past for Emergency aid.
The patient inside, in writhing pain,
Lay stressed on every hurdle raced.

Ladies holding children in hands,
And people bent with growing age,
Remained planted at the zebra cross,
Waiting to move to the opposite side.

As the tired people back from work,
Hurried away to reach their homes,
The jovial band in easeful mood,
Treaded towards the city parks.

Fortune tellers with their Tarot cards,
Held their clients in great suspense,
The street hawkers on tiled pavements,
Squatted beside their cheap merchandise.

Scores of men who treaded on foot,
Grew to Hundreds in a short awhile,
These were folks right from the show,
The Block buster had drawn hoards of men.

When young Dandies in tawdry dress,
Dallied round with their ladies love,
Street urchins in tattered clothes,
Went searching in the garbage pile.

While decrepit old beggars lay drowsy,
On the cement benches in wayside shelters,
The affluent Sahibs in plush restaurants,
Feasted on their cocktail dinners.

The city thus with its motley crowd,
Paints life in contrast shades,
For Fortune, with her alluring charms,
Favours a few and leaves the rest.

Congestive Traffic

Those who walk on what appears,
For them a lonely road...
May have chosen to do so.
Since the air is crisp.
And the mind is clear.

Choosing happiness over confusion,
Eliminates the need...
For one to fight for a place,
In polluted congestive traffic.

Where others have accepted beliefs,
This way of life is meant for them to live.
With a daily honking their way through,
A series of clogged arteries to die for.

If Im Sleeping

I saw you cross the crowded room, you were lookin my way
I dont believe in lady luck, or what the cards portray
But I could see your shining light, and Im in disarray
Chorus:
If Im sleeping, dont wake me up, if Im sleeping
If Im sleeping, dont wake me up, if Im sleeping
I thought Id better break the ice, and started moving your way
I lost direction, the room got crowded, so I must have gone astray
I still dont know how it happened, theres only me to blame
Chorus
I dont understand it, what is happening, what is happening
Its not the way we planned it, what is happening, take it away
(solo)
I dont understand it, what is happening, what is happening
Its not the way we planned it, what is happening, so take it away
Chorus
If Im sleeping, dont wake me up, if Im sleeping, leave me alone
If Im sleeping, if Im sleeping, why dont you leave me alone...

Our Points Of View

We now differ on how we look
At things. I am silent. I want to be silent.
You wish we are noisy. Or at least
We must talk.
You wish there is a glass of wine
In our hands
I still think we need coffee.
I am secure. I feet that so.
Your hands are shaky,
Reflections of the waves
Inside your mind.
You are picking on some little
Things that grow on the
Pavement. You want to kill them.
I say, I gesture, leave them
Let them be.
I situate myself on a hammock
Riding with the wind
This afternoon the breeze is cold
From the seashore.
Finally you do not resist
Getting near me and you complain
“I hate this place, it is too lonely
For me”
I do not mind. Deep inside my mind
I like this place. It is too peaceful.
I swing with the wind
With the hammock. You hold it.
You want it to stop.
I look at you and you cry.
Tears flood the creeks of your cheeks.
I cannot wipe them now.
I know, you want to leave.
I am silent. I am secure now.
I ride with the wind on the wings
Of my dreams.
I am listening to the
Footsteps of the ants
I am counting how many
Time the grasshopper jumps.
I like it here. It is peaceful

Now go, find your place.
Your dreams. Take your trip
To your sighs.

Just A Moment

at the busy crossroad
the traffic jam
is complete
all roads crowded
all kinds of vehicles
have to stop
while their futile waiting time
disappears in stress

a cacophony of people
just talking about
them selves
complaining
about their situation
overpowering the impatient honking
of other drivers
still in their cars
in the queue

what should I do

secure the door
wait and watch the scenery
from my point of view
the intimacy
of the space
I feel is my own

or
open the window
and become a part
of the cram

hearing different sounds
creating
another way
homeward bound

where does God live?

God does not live in Rome
the Pope and the celibates are there
and they are too many
too crowded
and very intelligent

sometimes i honestly ask
if they are still generous and holy

or if they still have the hands
that stretch
to the poorest of the poor

sometimes i am confused
and disappointed

but then sometimes too
i look inside
my being

open my heart
and there i see God living in there

speaking to me
Do not fear Do not be confused
Do not look for me somewhere else

Do not travel too far
I am just right here

Resting in your heart
sometimes hiding from the crowd
sometimes taking tme to be silent from so much noise
sometimes sleeping because I am so tired

and so here I am
amazed to my God dwelling inside my heart
my body as his temple
my eyes as the windows of his soul

on this theological revolution
my soul rests my ears listen

Getting Mighty Crowded

Im packing up my memories
And Im gonna move all out of your heart
Im turning in my keys
And Im gonna move all out of your heart
cause there aint room enough for two
In dreams that were made for me and you
Im telling you, its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me
Its getting mighty crowded
Im gonna take these things of mine
And Im gonna move all out of your life
Stop wasting my time
And Im gonna move all out of your life
cause there aint room enough for three
In dreams that were made for you and me
So you see, its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me
Its getting mighty crowded
Im saving you the trouble of putting me down
Starting on the double, yeah yeah
Im gonna shop around
Im gonna find another heart
Where I can live all by myself
Gonna find another heart
I dont have to share with anybody else
cause you dont treat me like you should
And hanging around this neighborhood is no good
Its getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded
Im packing up my memories, getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded
Too crowded for me, getting mighty crowded

Crosstown Traffic

You jump in front of my car
When you know all the time
That 90 miles an hour Girl Is the speed I drive
You tell me it's all right
You don't mind a little pain
You say you just want me to take you for a drive

You're just like CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
So hard to get through you CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
I don't need to run over you CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
All you do is slow me down
But I'm tryin' to get on the other side of town

I'm not the only soul who's accused of hit and run
Tire tracks all across your back I can see you've had your fun
But a-darling
Can't you see my signal's turn from green to red
And with you I can see a traffic jam straight ahead

You're just like CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
So hard to get through you CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
I don't need to run over you CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
All you do is slow me down
But I got better things on the other side of town

Yeah Yeah Crosstown traffic
Look out LOOK OUT Look out Baby
Coming through CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
Yeah Yeah Look out CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC
Yeah Yeah LOOK OUT Look out Look out Baby
CROSSTOWN TRAFFIC LOOK OUT YEAH
