At This Hour Of Separation

at this hour of our parting
i hold your hand to feel its last warmth
you do not look at me
to my glances
you have chosen an evasion

you wore your dark glasses
you enter a certain darkness
where you think
i cannot see your eyes with tears

clouds drift at your face
you go
finding your place inside the
predeparture area
i wave my hand and left you

you are gone
the plane slices the clear skies
i know
from up there
i am but an ant below the haze
distance does
the inevitable forgetting

He Wore Dark Sun glasses

The sun it was not shining and dark gray were the skies
Yet he wore dark sun glasses for to conceal his eyes
From the gaze of other people what was he trying to hide
Since to the mirror of his soul daylight he had denied.

Or maybe his eyes are sensitive to light so dark glasses at all times he must wear
Since seeing one wearing dark glasses on a cloudy morning is quite rare
In sunny weather many wear dark glasses to save their eyes from the sun's glare
On bright and warm Summer days of the sun one must beware.

This morning in the wind and rain it did seem strange to me
A young man wearing dark sun glasses out walking I did see
On such an overcast day sunglasses did seem out of place
If you cannot see a person's eyes you cannot memorize their face.

He may have eyes sensitive to light and have to wear dark glasses every day
But when I said hello to him he had nothing to say
If you cannot see a person's eyes to you that person a stranger remain
And I would not recognize his face were I to see him again.

Lost At Sea

Can we try to salvage what we can
From the weight of water and sand
And lifts us up again
Well this world is spinning out of control
Im bracing just to keep hold
As the clouds move in
With a driving wind so strong
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far
What a lonely way to be
Lost at sea
Like a star in a night filled with tears
Make the sadness disappear
cause youre all that I hold dear
Well you walk
Never ever looking back
One defends and one attacks
Theres a thousand reasons to begin again
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far
Take my hand, come to me
Save a life, rescue you, rescue me
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far
Could it be that were lost at sea
And were drowning under the stars
Up to me I would ride this wave
Before we drift too far

Never Wore A Gun Before

Never wore a gun before
A plane in the fog, oh wait those are clouds Im talking about
The suitcase in my hand and the way I have to walk
Those are empty smiles, empty eyes Im looking in
Times are over when it was difficult to say
It took some time but I know its just right now
So just a little word about whats really going on
If you want to take that as my way
To say goodbye to you as these red nights must go on
I was rich and I was poor
Didnt do the things I had to do
I was strong and I was weak
Was not the girl I tried to be
I was lost and I was found
He earned money you couldnt count
But I never wore a gun before
I never wore a gun before
He left the chamber but these times are over
Shes got
Shes got more than four weeks to be herself
Hes playin with fire and looks around on this world
Oh I love them and the plane in the fog
I was brave and I had fear
I did things...oh my dar
I was strong and I was weak
Was not the girl I tried to be
I was up and I was down
He thought the things to the ground
But I never wore a gun before
I never wore a gun before
I never wore a gun before
Never wore a gun before
I was brave and I had fear
I did things...oh my dear
I never wore a gun before
I was brave and I had fear
I did things...oh my dear

Helaman 14: 31

When the heavens cast their eyes on me,
they cried - I felt their tears on my face;
their tears, they drench me...
and I felt cold.
When the stars cast their eyes on me,
they fell - and I was left in darkness
with the ringing evening bells.
The moon, when she cast her eyes on me,
she died - and was buried in dark clouds;
I was left alone and homeless...
and thought I might as well die;
for the evening bells are ringing...
the heavens - they're still crying.
The stars are all but fallen.
But no, I'll never stay in darkness.
I cast away the dark clouds in my thoughts
and looked up in the heavens.
They still cry but their tears are sweet -
I smiled and felt the tender coldness
it brought in my weary feet.
The stars have fallen, the moon has died,
for the sun has risen and has brought its light.
Heavens gave way, the evening bells retired.
The darkness chose me but I have chosen light.
Death has crept its way and chose me
but I have chosen life.

Hand I Hold

The hand I hold
is the hand of love
when people see me anywhere.
The hand that steadies me
when storm clouds appear.
The hand that wipes away
the tears I want to hide.
The hand I hold
is the hand of love
tender soft and warm.
The hand that mends
and helps time heal
any wanton sore.
The hand that comforts
when tragedies come to pass.
The hand I hold
is the hand of love
and will be with me
until the day I die.

Stranger Enter From The East

I went out a-wandering
Beneath an unknown sky
The heavens all shook violently
You caught my eye
A strange fruit fell
And struck me to the core
My heart became a single flame
It wanted nothing more
Stranger, enter from the east
Stranger, step inside this place
And hold me..........hold me
The clock became a bullet hole
Cruel and unkind
It hurt me with its second hand
Alone another night
Stranger, enter from the east
Stranger, step inside this place
Blue.....is that you?
Well, dont bother knocking on my door this time
Blue.....
Go be true for someone else
Theres no room inside this heart of mine
My heart has four empty rooms
Three wait for lightning and one waits for you
I must have you all to myself
Feel the full weight of your skin
Ill hollow out my insides
To place you in
Stranger, enter from the east
Stranger, step inside this place
And hold me.......hold me
Hold me

Small Things Bother Me

He wore dark glasses I could not see his eyes
And the mirror to his soul he did disguise
He hid from the World his personality
Without the eyes a face you only see.

Perhaps his eyes from the bright sun he shade
The main reason why dark glasses are made
And though he lives nearby him I shall never get to know
As he wears dark glasses rain or sun shine or snow.

Any acknowledgement of me he never seems to show
And we pass each other by without saying hello
Through his dark glasses into my soul he peer
And he's still a stranger though to me he lives near.

Perhaps I'm small in ways and small things get to me
But it bothers me when others eyes I cannot see
Whether their eyes be blue, brown, green or grey who can say
As the mirror to their soul behind dark glasses hidden away.

I see him often though not every day
And his eyes behind dark glasses always hidden away
The mirror of his soul is well hidden from me,
Perhaps I'm small and small things bother me.

Her Last Breath

You had six months to live
Not three weeks
You lay here motionless
Thinking of what to say
I stand beside you
Day and night
Wishing it could go away
She placed her hand in mine
And said her life was good
She had lived long and well
Her hand shakes as death nears
I hold her hand tight
As tears run down my face
As she took what was her one last breath
I feel my heart break
She turned and said she loved me
As her eyes closed
And her body was left lifeless
With me by her side
And her tears in my hand
Today with me she took her last breath
When it was not yet her time to go

The Bloke Who Is Wearing Dark Glasses

The bloke who is wearing dark glasses his eyes from me hidden away
Yet the sun is not even shining it is quite an overcast day
In my direction he keeps staring and that sort of does bother me
Which to say the least feels quite perturbing since his hidden eyes I cannot see
To me he is a complete stranger one that I have not seen before
In my direction he keeps staring as he stands by the Super-store door
If I could see his eyes I'd feel happier I look on a face without eyes
On an overcast day his dark glasses the windows to his soul disguise
I feel uncomfortable in the presence of people wearing dark glasses why this should be I do wonder why
But their right for to wear the dark eyes shades one of them could never deny
But our eyes can tell us more about us than words of us ever can say
They can make you look kind and compassionate or cold hearted in a cold way
An unsmiling face wearing dark glasses from across the street stare at me
I do feel as one in discomfort when a face with hidden eyes I do see.

Curriculum

Bright sunny skies,
Shine high.
With clouds minimized!
And I know why,
Your eyes...
Are clear,
And particular!

On a flight like a kite.
Excited by height.
And delighted your life,
Has a new insight.
And I,
Enjoy this ride you find...
Particular!

That curriculum chosen,
Is your own.
Oh, oh.
That curriculum chosen,
All alone.
Oh, oh.
That curriculum chosen...
That you've shown.
Oh, oh.
That curriculum...
Nobody but you've got it!

That curriculum chosen,
Is your own.
Oh, oh.
That curriculum chosen,
All alone.
Oh, oh.
That curriculum chosen...
That you've shown.
Oh, oh.

Faces

the ripples
in the clear blue lake
God is smiling

the fleece in
the clear blue sky
God is caring

the haze...
the haze
God is fuming

this first meet between us
i see your biases too

they infiltrate every cell
of your face
clear as sky

your darting eyes
they carry bars
that weigh down
your trust

never for one instance they
rest on mine

and your heart
it comes over clear as
the glasses between us

M4...

it is not at all about sadness
leaving is not sorrow
parting may be but it is on the other
hand
sweeter if only we understand some more
about the beauty and
freshness of
other places of the
heart

swell

there is this reddish part of meeting new
faces and
shaking new hands
exchanging
(glances) places and trekking
new terrains

thinking about clouds and
cliffs
the excitement of falling into the
eternal abyss
of that infinite emptiness

where is the floor?

in this bottomless ponder
where is the end?

if you only know we are in the middle
of this

up there there is nothing to hold
down there there is nothing to hug

here, there is only my hand
it is not a place but it will take you there

have you tasted the purity of
honey?

it is sweet but there is no sugar in it
it sticks.

I Can Sense You

Felt to be denied, Left alone,
All alone, on a haunted isle,
No familiar face or a heard voice
No hand to hold or pal to rejoice
Dark very dark the evening arrived
No source of light, no laugh no delight
No warmth of arms, No hope of happy plight
Sensed from a far off land
A warm friendly stretched hand
Asking to hold, feel bold
Warm in the bitter cold
Offering wings to wrap around
An angel from a far off land…

Ask 2: Take your place in the tapestry of life.

It only happens once, play your part, as best you can
Who can ask anymore of you than that you tried, failed still
its no surprise to me that they would always hold us down.

Get your head out of the clouds, you’d hear them say,
Then running circles shadow play.

A return to the elemental, a state of calm,
Slip in lucid tides, hide away behind a wave of passion,
Ride the wheel, turn back the tides,
Tell me how you feel is this reality for you,
I don’t know what it is no more.

Open up the doors of perception, clear the mind of impurities,
Drift away in placid calms, I wont do you know harm babe,
It’s beyond me to do so to think like a genius, to act like a fool.

Turn it all in, back again, another point of view
Another face you thought you knew.
Tell me, tell me true, is it me you love babe or is it you.

Sometimes when I look at you, I feel your holding back a flood of tears.
Building me up to break me down after all these years.
Leaving me wondering, how could they do it to me?
Why would they do it to me?

Take your place in the tapestry of life.
Within you lies eternal youth,
What more proof could you need
Than the hedonism, that you feed
Close your eyes, just slip outside the box.

Take a walk, we’ll talk a while
Sit, lay back with a smile.

It wasn’t much man, but it came on strong.

Tranquil skies, calmer tides
Nothing left to hide.

One more chance to re arrange, to once more dance the night a flame.

Talk about it
You dream about it
You feel that theres no place left to glow
Operatics, break the habits
You feel that theres no place left to grow
You gotta reach inside yourself and let it go
Close your eyes and drift away to some place new
Where the skies are blue brings back the child in you
Cross a lonely field as birds begin to speak
Its alright
Its ok
Blue, true
Blue, true
Cry about it shout about it
You feel that theres no sense in going on
Late november, change in weather
The cold has got a hold of you again
That river's gonna drag you down again
Close your eyes and drift away to someplace new
Where the skies are blue brings back the child in you
Cross a lonely field as birds begin to speak
It's alright
Its ok
Its alright
Blue
Nothing was stopping you
Nothing was stopping you
Nothing was stopping blue
Blue, true, blue, true, miss you
Child in you

And Here Comes Dark

It's dark outside
But I see the light
Then darkness
I see the light again
And here comes dark

It's dark outside
I am lonely and sad
But I see the light
You ask my name
Then darkness
You take my hand
I see the light again
We fall in love
And here comes dark

It's dark outside
I can't find you
But I see the light
You were right there
Then darkness
I have my doubts
I see the light again
You say I'm wrong
And here comes dark

It's dark outside
I reach for you
But I see the light
You don't reach for me
Then darkness
I feel alone
I see the light again
I read your face
And here comes dark

It's dark outside
I want to leave
But I see the light
You're come to me
Then darkness
I feel your grip
I see the light
You're hurting me
And here comes dark

It's dark outside
I try to scream
But I see the light
You have my throat
Then darkness
I can not breath
I see the light
For the last time
And here comes dark

In Absence

WAKE, do you wake in the dark in the strange far place,
Window and door not set like the ones we knew,
Leaning your face through the dark for another face,
Stretching your arms to the arms that are far from you,
Even as I, through the depth of this darkness, do?

Sleep, do you sleep in the house in the lonely land?
In the lonely room do you hear no steps draw near?
Do you miss in the darkness the hand that implores your hand,
See through the darkness your last dream disappear,
And weep, as I weep, in the outer darkness here?

Dream, do you dream? Nay, never a dream will stay,
Never a phantom is fond, or a vision kind.
Your dreams elude you and fly through the dark my way,
My dreams fly forth to you whom they may not find;
And we in the darkness weep, we weep and are left behind.
